TARMAR AWOBOTU TOPS AT TOP MODEL OF THE WORLD COMPETITION


Remember that last year, we had exclusively written on October 12, 2011 that one of Nigeria's Top Models based in South Africa- Miss Tarmar Awobotu had been shortlisted to represent Nigeria at the Top Model Worldwide Competition 2012.

We are so happy to update you that the 24 years old Nigerian Model on March 17, 2012 in far away London took home the top prize. The venue of the competition was the very prestigious Hilton London Metropole- a 4-star hotel that prides itself has one of Europe’s Largest hotel and conference centers.

She emerged the 2012 winner of the annual competition from a shortlist of 45 top models who represented countries like-England, Peru, Germany, 3 from South Africa, Jamaica, Bermuda, Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Australia, Poland, St. Vincent, Romania, Estonia, Eire, Sao Tome & Principe, Vietnam, USA, Malaysia, Democratic republic of Congo, Haiti, Malawi, Tanzania, Sudan, India, New Zealand, Scotland, Sierra Leone etc..


The 5 foot 10.5 inches tall model, who is signed to Ice Model Agency in SA is said to have impressed the panel of judges the most. This is the 6Th year of the annual competition, and the grand finals was over a 3 day period- March 16, 17 & 18, 2012. Over 4000 entries were initially received from all parts of the world, before it was reduced to 190 finalists from around the globe, who competed in 6 categories.

 We are very happy to congratulate the top model winner and wish her well.
