Just like we had predicted before the d-day it was a like a rain of stars, celebs etc came down on the Polo Ltd Corporate HQ @  Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos on Sunday, February 9, 2014. The Island located venue was packed full. When we passed around 6pm on the day of the event,  the spaces in front and on both sides, including opposite the Polo Ltd building was packed full with high end cars- the G-wagons, Benzes etc, showing the caliber of those that came for the opening.

Like you already know, Polo Avenue is the baby of the gorgeous and very stylish daughter of the suave man of style and poshness, Mr John Obayuwana. The forever stylish & utterly young at heart, Mr. Obayuwana dazzled all at the opening in his white shirt, his very stylish sarong trouser and killed it with his black Jimmy Choo pair of shoes with a gold scorpion embroidered atop it.  Jennifer had come up with the idea, to open a branch of her dad's brand that would be into fashion accessories of the best kind, hence Polo Avenue. The new store stocks such iconic brands like Balenciaga, Celine,  Jimmy Choo, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana & Sophie Hulme. Some of the brands had both male & female collections in shoes, belts, ties and bags.

Truth be told, the new store's ambiance is world class. On the day of the event like we already made mention above, it was an avalanche of the stylish ones and the money bags that came, mixed with a few from the media. Event itself was ably organized by Elohor Aisien's new event company and they sure did well. We heard that the crowd that came paid of for the brand, as they made a killing selling. Some even claimed they nearly sold out! Even our very dear own blogger queen extraordinaire-Linda Ikeji, who came as a friend of Jennifer was caught up in the buying frenzy as she bought herself a nice python bag said to have cost in the region of about 4 zeros after the figure in dollars.

Most of those that came were the likes of Terry Wayas, Cosmas Maduka, Mo Abudu, Nkiru Anumudu, Francis Ogboro, Ifeoma Williams, Jennifer's ex-D banj came to give support, also there were Vector, Sasha P, Dele Dosunmu, Demola Seriki, Obafoluke Otudeko, Lisa Folawiyo, Vivienne Chioloji, Henry Imaseka, Jide Adenuga, Lanre Da Silva Ajayi, Demola Seriki, ex-Miss World Agbani Darego, Folake Folarin Coker, Tiwa Savage, Veronica Ebie-Odeka, Karen Koshoni, Cleopatra Anunobi, Amelia Dokpesi, Bola Balogun, Linda Mesrob, Jania Ochonogor, Dr. Tunde Soleye, Akin Olopade, Beatrice Olumhense, Bridget Awosika, Fife & Bolu Aiyesimoju, Lolu & Linda Sodeinde, Chris Okeke, Ene Maya Lawani, Eunice Efole, Ernest & Godwin Ebi, Ezinne Alfa, Femi Atilade, Bobby Karibi-Whyte, Tokini Peterside, Ezinne Akudo, Funke Adepoju, Joseph Benjamin & very many others.

All in all it was a good mix. As par the prices of the things, we think it must surely be affordable for those who buy them. We heard that now that the HQ branch of the Polo Avenue has been sorted out, the next point of call might be Abuja, the FCT. So ABJ please wait for it. Praaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!! Kudos Jennifer. More oil on your elbow.

We got a few pictures of the days socializing for your viewing pleasure.

Enjoy!!!!!!!

  1. Wow! My Dear God. Look at Eunice Efole so called Style Icon wearing high knee boot in Naija frigging hot weather? Very interesting! Perhaps someone needs to educate her that knee boot is meant for cold weather to keep your leg warm. I 'm sure all the other ladies were looking at her like " WHAT ". Her dressing most of the time doesn't make no sense to
Me and wondered why they will ever nominate her for a style award talkless of winning it. Very funny dressing.

  2. OMG!!! I laughed so hard when I saw Eunice wearing boot in a very hot weather. Unless u are going to jungle in Naija which is not the case this time. Wearing a boot on a red or whatever carpet they put on the floor in hot weather like Naija is a No No Ms Eunicd.

  4. Eunice dresses well most times, I agree. She missed the memo this time. Classless girl. Cleo and Ifeoma together? Karen, Lisa and Busola together in another pic? Coughs! Connect the dots. Linda always looks so unsure and timid. Some ladies and their aristos are all here. Coughs some more.

  5. Absolutely appalled. Empty barrels make the most noise and thats how i describe naijas. So this store that they made so much noise about, this is the inside of the store and this is what you call a luxury retail store. My goodness. Go to Luanda Angola and see Luxury Retail stores, Go to South Africa Hyde Park Corner to see Luminance a retail store owned by Kanyi – IT EXUDES TASTE AND QUALITY, (google hyde park luminance launch) I was at the Luminance launch last year and to call Polo avenue retail store is laughable at best. This is a store housing luxury goods but not necessary a luxury retail store. And take more photos of the place more than you should the people. The event is not about the people its about the store, abi??? None the less i seen the images of the inside of the store – NOT IMPREsSEd AT all. MY nAIJAS MAKE TOO MUCH NOISE FOR NOTHING. EVIDENTLY CLASS CANNOT BE BOUGHT OFF THE SHELVE NO MATTER HOW MUCH MONEY YOU HAVE.

  7. The lady wearing boot...waoh, waoh. Well maybe she's coming straight from the airport.....unbelievable considering how uncomfortable boots are even in cold weather

  8. Lilie beef. Stick to your South and East African blogs inugo?

  9. Lillie is right though. We need to start competing with the best in terms of retail space. Everyone can open a shop, but the Polo people should have use the resources and some creative input to make this space stand out more.
She is not beefing, just stating the very obvious. Luxury retail space should be something to wow about.
But nigerians love to celebrate mediocre, and when you criticise they say one is beefing or hating.

  10. Just one store and she's drawing a conclusion? You are also agreeing with her because she compared one store to two stores in other parts of Africa? You need better parameters, until then it's beefing.

  13. Knee high boots as definitely not for Nigerian weather but those boots are amaze balls. It still doesn't take away from the fact that Eunice efole is an ageless beauty. Her body, skin. Wowww.

Ifeoma Williams doesn't have any friends nor a mirror in her house. What sort of fuckery is this?

Again looks so raggedy. Emmy Collins keeps talking about this kinky Afro and they won't listen.

Apparently only Linda ikeji bought an item or she was the only one ratchet enough to pose with her shopping bag

  14. Puhleez what is Ifeoma Williams wearing?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Is this event about the store or the ppl who attended just curious
