JOHN UTAKA SETS TO LAUNCH FOUNDATION

Ace footballer and top winger for Portsmouth football club of uk, John Utaka is in Nigeria presently, after the debacle at the world cup competition in South Africa, where the National team nearly disgraced the nation, since it is the off season ,and the particular period footballers have to rest and prepare for another grueling football season, we caught up with him, to ASK SOME QUESTIONS-chief of which is about The Launch of the JOHN UTAKA FOUNDATION, and here is his response.
The following pictures were taken, while he was having a photo shoot at the CAMARA STUDIOS. CAN YOU TELL US A BIT ABOUT THE FOUNDATION?

I have been truly blessed by God and I wanted to set up a foundation that truly reflects my passion to help and empower the youth of today for a better tomorrow. I mean look at my story from my humble beginnings through God’s blessings and hard work I am where I am today.

In NIGERIA there are villages where basic amenities such as water, food and medicine are a luxury, so we are going to be having charitable events raising money for poverty alleviation for the less fortunate.

In KENYA we are working with Ciru who is an ambassador for the heart-2 heart foundation on providing scholarships to a number of students who are not able to finish secondary school due to lack of funds.

In the UK we are providing underprivileged kids with an opportunity to have training sessions with big music producers(Parker & James "Chipmunk") so they have the chance to actually learn a skill and understand more about the music industry outside of being a star. We are speaking to other industries as well about offering work and training placements.

IF WE ASKED YOU TO SUM THE FOUNDATION IN ONE SENTENCE-WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?
The foundation is dedicated to helping educate and empower the youth of today within marginalized communities for a better tomorrow.

WHAT OTHER ACTIVITIES ARE YOU GOING TO BE DOING IN NIGERIA WITH THE FOUNDATION?
-We are also going to be providing work placements in Nigeria and abroad enabling them to gain accredited training and vocational skills through our international partners.
