MUMA GEE'S NUPTIAL CEREMONY-PART 1- THE TRADITIONAL RITE

DATELINE-Odiabidi in Upata Kingdom,Ekpeye Land of Ahoada East LGA on December 20,2011.

OCCASION: The Traditional Wedding Ceremony of Chief Gift Iyumame Uwame AKA Muma Gee, the very well known musician and her beau Prince Oluobube Eke AKA Eklis.

It was a week long activity in the town as they prepared for the traditional wedding ceremony, it was a time of merriment and jollification, and it was very obvious that much amount of money had been spent to make it a special occasion. To show that it was truly a traditional affair, the community's masquerade came out to welcome all amidst explosive acrobatic displays by members of an acrobatic group.

The sweet looking bride was beautifully garbed in the traditional attire of her people, made up of an orange blouse with a matching headgear, on her neck and hands were very beautiful traditional bangles and beads, and she had on her lower part a very beautiful blue, Lace-wrapper.

While the husband, prior to the time he was called out was hidden away from public view while the ceremonial bridal search was on, he was garbed in a ankle-length blue cassock atop a black pant and finished of with a black top-hat looking very princely.

The traditional wedding ceremony in itself went like a breeze, as a lot of the merriment had taken place during the week prior to the D-day, so as soon as the bride and the groom were around, everything was done in quick time, and there were loads and loads of gifts from family members and friends who thronged the venue to celebrate with the couple.
