INTRODUCING VONNE'S BLACK MAMBA COLLECTION 2012

Vonne is owned by the very delectable Yvonne Nwosu, one of Nigeria's young, exciting and highly creative design maven.

She showcased a collection that wowed many at the recent- Arise Magazine Fashion Week 2012. The whole collection was in Black. It takes a lot to have a full collection in one colour- BLACK. Truth be told her creativity and audacity must be commended. Like her or not, she came up with a collection, that was fearless, sexy and attention grabbing. The cut and finishing were on point; the clothes very wearable and they show maturity in terms of the designer’s growth.
In this showcase, we have Vonne's new look book, showcasing a collection tagged- BLACK MAMBA.

  2. LOL @ Ruby Woo. Doing all black can be iffy and you have to get the tailoring right. I like how Vonne herself dresses though.

  8. Please stop attacking Ruby Woo. Everyone should open their eyes and stop being patronising...All black can be difficult for a collection because of the colour scheme. tis kind of hard to be interested after seeing so much black but that isn't the problem here. The execution wasn't all that innovative and the finishing is quite tacky. Yvonne please go and improve yourself instead of drinking and partying in the clubs and gossiping 247 with your silly ass lickers.

  10. Free Ruby Woo o. She's right, the finishing is piss poor, the mallams at Obalende at least iron the clothing before giving it to you, look at number 4! Number 5 looks like she just jammed all her left over fabric to make something, the seams are uneven. Personally her fashion line are not my taste, but the tailoring also leaves plenty to be desired.

  11. Most of these Naija designers have good concept and designs. But their finishing aren't neat enough.

  12. Pictures 9 and 10 are not bad at all. Yvonne, i know you are reading and commenting here. Just take some constructive criticism away and work on the finishing. If you can perfect that, you will be A+. The clothes you wear from your line are very well cut. Translate that into what you make for others. Ruby Woo expressed her view, no need abusing her.

  13. Errrr.... Constructive criticism over here. 7 and 8 are FANTASTIC but i almost stopped going further when i saw no 4! Simply put, its a train wreck. Don't know if it wasnt ironed properly but i think you should have that picture taken down. Im also an entrepreneur and i can tell how much work goes into someone's work by just looking at it and i dint always get it right all the time. IT IS NOT EASY!!!

That being said, You did a great job. Congrats and all the best,

  14. All of you going in on Ruby woo, what does ass taste like, cos ur breath reeks of shit kissing Vonne's ass. I hate when Nigerians start that the total BS of let's support our 'talent'/designers, that shit can only happen when there's actual talent to support, these designs are CRAP, don't get me started on the finishing .
Being a designer is not all about fancy makeup, good lighting and professional photography. Vonne go back to the drawing board, ur a badass fashionista... You can do better. Nuff said.

  16. I am trying to see something nice in these dresses, but cannot put my finger on what is wrong with them. The fitting is odd, the finishing is quite poor, the materials look cheap. The concept is good & can work, Try harder next time.

I'm not a fan of the photo quality either, the retouching & lighting tricks take away from the clothes, when it's supposed to be all about the clothes.

  19. Where are these Debbie Egunjobi bashings coming from? How do you know it's her? Does she use a name tag or is the language she uses specific to her? It will be interesting to know.

  21. not a fan of vonne but she was definitely born to be a designer. now the tailoring needs some work and the clothes are ill-fitting on the models. the look to me is kinda pin-up, get slightly thicker models wjo will fill out the dresses better, DO NOT use black and white for an all black collection, mad ruby woo(lol) and russian red lip stains with crisp settings, not some dirty location. i looked closely at the details of each outfit, never seen any like it in nigeria but the location, colour of pic and skinny boobless models did not do justice to teh dresses.
