WHEN ABUJA CORPORATE POWER HOUSES GATHERED FOR THE MAKTOUB MAGAZINE LAUNCH

DIRECTOR COMMUNICATIONS AT CBN UGO OKOROAFOR & MARIAM

OYINDA OGBOYE

The venue of the private event was none other than the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. It was a gathering of just about 120; some of those that make the Federal Capital Territory -Abuja tick & tock. The gathering was for the launch of the newest Business/Lifestyle magazine to hit Abuja called- Maktoub Magazine. The gorgeously named all colour, all gloss publication was launched amidst pomp on Thursday, January 16, 2014.

With the caliber of those that graced the occasion, it was obvious that the publisher of the new magazine, in the person of the highly cerebral and extraordinarily stylish Mariam Mohammed, is a highly influential person in her own right. The exquisite business owner, a graduate of media & Communications studies from the Middlesex University, is a highly rated and very experienced property manager, who has hobnobbed with royalties in the UAE and is very big time in Real Estate & Interior, both in the UAE & in Nigeria. She's the MD/CEO of SaturnGates Real Estate; she also owns a thriving PR company- Best Strategic PR Company that handles legendary Lebanese born 'designer to the royalties' Walid Atallah's pr account and also that of Feryal Albastaki, a UAE based incredibly gifted designer, whose dad is one the richest from that part of the world.

On the day of the magazine launch, Mariam showcased her incredible grace and style in an heavenly electric blue, Walid Atallah gown, which she finished up with a pair of super gorgeous diamond drop earrings, mennnn!!!!She looked angelic. Her flawless make-up was done by one of Abuja's most sought after make up artist Fatima Mamza of Mamza Beauty. As she flowed in at the occasion she was the cynosure of all eyes, epitomizing grace & elegance to the highest heights.

Some of those we saw at the event were the representatives of the former MD of Access Bank, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede , Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Alhaji Suleiman Barau, Director General of NAFDAC, Dr. Paul Orhi, MD of the Nigerian Minting and Printing Corporation, Alhaji Ahmad Bamali, Deputy Minister of Information & Communications, Sierra Leone, Hon. Theo Nicol, Executive Commissioner Legal & Enforcement, Security and Exchange Commission, Sa'adatu Mohammed Bello, who is the wife of the current Attorney General of Nigeria, Mohammed Bello Adoke and many others.

It was a very cool event from all indications. We have pictures of the day's proceedings for your viewing pleasure. Check them out.

  2. They couldn't find any other people outside of CBN to attend. They could have at least paid seat warmers to attend.

Yes-o. I noticed that only one tribe is running the CBN. We have a long way to go. I hope there will be some money left in the government coffers by the time his tenure ends.
