STOP THE RUMOUR! THAT ATIKU ABUBAKAR IS THE SINGLE HIGHEST SHAREHOLDER OANDO

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCON

Is it possible for the former Vice President of Nigeria to own such colossal shares in such a company, oooo yes it is possible. Especially being a private citizen if he has the wherewithal/resources then by law, nothing stops him from acquiring the shares.

So does he own such colossal numbers of shares, whose value would be staggering to say the least? That we cannot readily tell you for sure, but the rumour is rife that he does and the only 2 people that can ascertain that for sure, are the former vice-president himself and or OANDO PLC.

But beyond any iota of doubt, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, is a man of extraordinary and colossal means. Forget totally that part where his name is not listed in any Forbes rich list or Fortune networth list. In fact how many of the stupendously wealthty or rich Nigerians are listed on that so called list?

More after the break.

We can tell you for sure that, in the sacred cloud of those who are sure fire men and women of "Timber and Caliber", those whose liquidity would shake all comers, that his position on the list and at the top echelon is not in doubt at all. Even many of the avowed super rich on the list, genuflect in deference to this gentle but very mighty man of great influence.

His is not something that just began recently or today. The gentleman par excellence, a former Deputy Director, which is likely an equivalent  a of Deputy-Controller General now, has always been very very liquid, long before he joined politics.

Has at the early 1980s/1990s before joining the political fray in the old Gongola state, which later became Adamawa State, where he ran for the Governorship election. In his first missionary journey he lost, and then 2nd time he won, before he was now upgraded by virtue of the influence he had and the platform he controlled, which made him the right candidate to be selected as the Vice Presidential candidate to the then retired General, Chief Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo; as at that time Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was already very very liquid.

The Waziri of the Adamawa, which is the highest cheiftaincy title in Adamawa State, that was bestowed on him as he was upgraded to that title, and his son made the Turaki his old title recently, is an undoubted man of great means.

He started making good money since the early 70s when he started investing heavily into properties of which he is said to have a colossal portfolio now, which he built over several years spanning decades.

From that time on, he began to reinvest into other things, which made him have his fingers in many lucrative pies.

In the early 80s he and a partner invested heavily in an oil servicing and logistics outfit which later grew to become "Intels", which has become an extraordinary brand and investment today with very extensive tentacles in and outside Nigeria, employing people in their several thousands. We hear Intels controls some of the major ports in Nigeria.

Another well known investment of the very quiet man is his school, known as "American University of Nigeria, Yola, Adamawa State" known as (AUN, Yola) for short. There's probably no other private tertiary institution in Nigeria, that can compare with this school, in terms of manpower, resources, infrastructure, facilities and what have you.

It offers American style higher education programs in undergraduate, graduate and professional levels Nigeria. It's like America was uprooted and brought and planted in Nigeria.

The above are just the known investments of the beloved Waziri, what about the ones not known publicly or not in the public purview?

So when the rumours became rife, that he is the highest singular shareholder at OANDO PLC, a top oil and gas company, where Wale Tinubu is the GMD/CEO we were curious to know what the real deal was.

Wale, the GMD of OANDO PLC, is a nephew of the Governor Emeritus of Lagos State, in the person of the great Jagaban of Borgu, the ASIWAJU of Lagos himself, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is a top chieftain of the ruling in Nigeria, APC. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is also one of the founding members and a top shot in the APC too.

So until the truth is ascertained as a fact, it is just mere rumours for the birds as at now.

But what we can state for a fact is that, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar can afford to be what the rumour claims, if he wants to.
