The stars literally poured down in unbelievable torrents yesterday, Saturday, September 1, 2018 in Ghana! It was definitely glitz, glamour, panache overdose. Ghana's best and their guests came having their best feet forward.
The venue of the event was none other than the beautiful Movenpick Hotel in Accra, Ghana. The event itself is the annual style ritual known to all as the GlitzAfrica Award 2018.
It is one event, one showcase, one gathering that any star, celebrity worth their salts, never ever want to miss as it affords them the opportunity to play dress up and showcase their style DNA.... And so like it was expected, the stars and celebrities and guests came looking like Fire๐ฅ๐ฅ๐. It was obvious that they took time to plan their outfits and the stylists, make up artists and even the fashion houses and designers must have smiled or laughed heartily to their banks!
It was a 'galaxy of stars' that converged purposefully at the upscale venue and we have now come to the proper understanding of that expression-Galaxy of stars- now. As they all shine like many diamonds or precious stones all in one place at the same time. While the AMVCA 2018-the 6th edition for that matter, the biggest film and movie award show in Africa that celebrates the best in film, movies and that sector of the entertainment industry was on going magnificently in Lagos, Nigeria, at the expansive and prestigious hall of the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, Accra in Ghana was also well lit up to the sky, as the Ghanaians and their friends matched gorgeously to the venue of GlitzAfrica Awards 2018 in style too.
Our own statuesque and stylish Dr. Idia Aisien was one of the duo that lit up the stage as hosts of the event, she was well supported by the Ghanaian hunk, known to the world as Elikem the Tailor. Our master tailor and designer of nite, Ohimai Atafo was at the event too, no wonder we didn't see him at AMVCA 2018, where his label styled many, both male and female nicely.
With the way our awards are now being packaged it is so obvious now that in the next few years with good sponsorship, our awards across Africa can match any across the globe. Stylewise, the stars and celebrities are quite obviously making the efforts and they should be well commended. Kudos to Claudia Lumor, the brain behind the brand for putting together a splendid package.
More after the break.
