NOT A PALATABLE NEWS AS DR SID AND SIMI'S MARRIAGE FINALLY COLLAPSE

When they exchanged their wedding vows a couple of years back 2014 to be more precise, it was a talk of the town nuptial they had, as good money was well spent to make it one of the weddings of the season then. While Dr. Sid, full name Sidney Esiri was one of the raves of the moment then, being one of the artists on Don Jazzy's label, his wife Simi was from a wealthy home and had a good job. Their families left no stone unturned to make sure it was a befitting nuptial.

Fast forward now to a couple of years after and after 2 adorable kids, girls for that matter-Sydney & Sarah, it's a sad story instead as the center couldn't hold no more and both have to part ways permanently. They had had much trouble and turbulence all through. Some had even speculated that part of the issue was because the dentist turned music star, who had followed Don Jazzy his boss from Mo Hits to Mavin Records with the likes of D'Prince, Tiwa Savage and Co wasn't as buoyant or liquid as he used to be when he and record mates were ruling the airwaves and balling extraordinarily. So maybe as things weren't too good, madam stepped in more and more. All of that are unconfirmed speculations! 

There were stories of altercations in the past, as it's common in nearly all marriages too. In fact it was said that Simi used to slap her husband around and abuse him (domestic abuse), which she has denied in strong terms. They had parted for a bit and later tried to come back together and people felt they must have learnt their lessons and would be more careful now, to at least make things work. But alas, seems like everything has totally collapsed and scattered now. Simi herself released a statement, where she stated very clearly that the marriage was done for and is irrevocably headed towards divorce and that both would do their best to be good Co-parents. Not the best of times right now for for Dentist turned entertainer under the Mavin Group label as headed by Don Jazzy, in the person of Sidney Esiri aka Dr Sid and his gorgeous wife Simi, as we hear that the marriage that was very celebrated with a very public wedding of the year ceremony 3 years ago has crashed! Crashed? No we believe not yet, until a formal divorce. So so sad!

We had seen the beautiful wife and mother of one very recently at the Fashion Weekend alone and had asked for the husband to which she had replied, fine and at home, only for us to hear this sad news that things have gone beyond repair and that madam has now packed out not too long afterwards.

We intentionally refused to write or post anything since, because they are both our friends, who we love so much and we had thought to allow them find a way to sort out their issues, but alas we hear that both sides have dugged deep and reconciliation might not be that quick, with both parties unfollowing each other publicly.

We have tried reaching Dr Sid since, at least to hear from him, but his known number has been unreachable, switched off probably deliberately.

The celebrity marriage which was sanctioned with a celebrity wedding of the season, was so rich, so exotic then that it razzzled-dazzled all and sundry when it was contracted only 3 years ago and they have a beautiful child between them. It was even alleged then that cost of wedding ceremony was a whopping ₦25 million Naira!

We cannot tell you yet for a fact, what is said to have caused the enstrangement which has led to this major public scrutiny and both cutting ties from each other, but many unsubstantiated reasons have been bandied about, two of which is infidelity and philandering.

We pray that both can work things out amicably though. It has not necessarily been a fantastic year for the Mavin Records as unlike before, they would have saturated us with hits after hits after hits, save for the incredible Tiwa Savage who has swept us off our feet, all others have been average. 

IS DR SID ALREADY MARRIED?

Yes the fine boy musician, who is also a very stylish dude proposed to his hearthrob after a whirlwind trip around Europe in very romantic Venice, Italy sometime last week. We would have loved to know the finer details of the proposal though.


Was it while moving around on one of the numerous gondola that cuddling up, with all the stars out like a glorious chandelier, cuddling up with no care in the world that Dr. Sid proposed or was it just while having a very romantic dinner at one of the restaurants facing the waters, with soft music in the background, then a flower was delivered or presented from out of the blues and a quartet started singing that Dr. Sid got down on one knee popping the question? 

We do not know yet.

But from the little insinuations by the crooner himself, it's like it was more than a proposal oooo? What if they had sneaked afterwards into one of the many chapels in Venice and had just a very intimate exchange of vows, just the duo and a witness? 

We also do not know. But we doubt it anyway.

But at the grand finale of the Star Trek Concert at the National Stadium where he appeared and performed very recently, the Mavin Star was said to have asked the audience ''If they knew he was now married'' Quoting him verbatim- You know I am married right? Obviously Dr. Sid has been hit very HARD by cupid and he has gone totally 'buttery'. We mean very weak in the knees in love (LOVE JONES).

Many of his fans would be shocked by that admission, but it might have been a way of him saying he was no longer on the market. So 'caveat emptor' 'buyers beware' , someone is now in full control. 

DR SID PROPOSES TO HIS HEARTTHROB-SIMI OSOMO

The proposal trend seems to be catching on first was Peter Okoye, with a diamond ring, flowers & a Range Rover Evoque and madam gladly accepted and we are all waiting for the day. 

Yesterday in the very romantic city of Venice, known for it's architecture, artworks & scenic view in Italy, dentist turned entertainer and a member of the Mavin family, Dr. Sidney Onoriode Esiri aka Dr. Sid proposed to his girlfriend, Simi Osomo with a big diamond rock. 

And like she was expected to do, she said a very big YES!!!

Now we understanding why Dr. Sid was crooning and exuding so much love on his new single- Love Mine. We sure know who the inspiration behind the lyrics is now............

Dentist turned musician is seemingly head over heels in love with his boo and as a big boy he is not afraid to show it or say it to the world. So other chikitoes beware oooo.

We had the privilege a few weeks ago to listen to Dr Sid's new body of work, all we can exclaim is that they are all A-class jams that would rock the music scene for a long while to come. This particular love jam we are too sure would become an anthem very soon. There's just something classy, lovey-durvy cool about it.

DR SID'S BRAND SPANKING NEW EDIFICE GETTING READY

We love to celebrate our stars when they are making progress. One of the latest to have acquired a palatial edifice fit for a star is Mavin's own Dr Sid. The dentist turned musician who is still living at his 1004 apartment is gradually putting finishing touches to his pride. 

It's a semi-detached house located somewhere in Lekki Phase 1 on the Island. We especially love the fact that though we haven't heard of any endorsements coming his way, music seems to be paying off very well for him. We especially love the fact that he is investing unlike many others. So most likely before the end of the year, the cool and stylish dude might be moving from the 1004 estate to his own abode.

We also hear that Omawumi is putting up her own building somewhere around the Lekki Phase 1 area too. 

Kudos to them.

DR SID RELEASES HOT NEW SINGLE- AFEFE(BREEZE)

Sporting a new hair cut and a slimmer waistline, Dr Sid is back with his latest hit ‘Afefe’, which trended on twitter last week. After his dazzling performance alongside Wande Coal at the ‘Love Afrobeats Festival’, headlined by P Square, Dr Sid, real name Sidney Onoriode Esiri isn’t wasting any time with his new music.
 The ‘Chocolate’ crooner flew into the UK to shoot the video directed by renowned director Sesan Ogunro. Set for release at the end of next month, ‘Afefe’, which means ‘Breeze’, is a clever play on a Nigerian proverb, while Dr Sid promises to cool down the ladies in the catchy chorus. This is the latest track to be released and does not feature on the new Mavin Records album ‘Solar Plexus’. It’s a stand alone track made especially for the clubs- a certified club banger produced by BlayzeBeats.

 Since the launch of the Mavin Records label, Dr Sid has  ‘Chocolate’, ‘YOLO’ and ‘CPR’ sizzling under his belt already. These songs sit alongside his label mates Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal and D’Prince, which were all produced by the multiple-award winning super producer and Mavin Records Label Boss Don Jazzy.

“It’s been a whirlwind since the launch of Mavin Records”, says Dr Sid onset of the shoot. “We all have been working hard on our individual projects. I’m just really excited to be getting my new material out. ‘Afefe’ was a fun one to work on. It’s a party track that has a mad beat that will get everyone moving. Blayze is a great producer and Sesan is a hot director. So hopefully people will receive this well. I will also be shooting something very special for my three tracks on the Solar Plexus album so watch this space.”
 ‘Afefe’ will feature on his untitled album, tipped to be released early 2013. Until then stay tuned for more music and new videos by the ‘Over The Moon’ Mavin artist.
