How time flies!!! Just a decade plus 5 jolly years ago, November 1998 to be more precise, one of Nigeria's top fashion brand emerged on the scene, known to the world as Tiffany Amber, and owned by the gorgeous daughter of the Parakoyi of Ibadanland- Chief Bode Akindele of the Modandola Group fame, in the person of Folake Folarin Coker.

What emerged on the scene then like a bolt outta the blue as a fashion brand, as since become an award winning Nigerian/African global brand, that has become a household name amongst those who understands fashion & style and those who appreciates excellence. Tiffany Amber, when it came on the scene 15 years ago, was the first fashion brand to take the bull by the horns, following in the footsteps of established international fashion brands, by coming out with a read-to-wear line that could match any of the international standard bearers.

Jumping forward all of 15 years now, those eventful years proudly flying the Nigerian flag at international fashion shows with much aplomb, garnering awards after awards on the way, it was a very monumental & joyous occasion to mark the 15 years very recently.

The fashion brand was joined by world renowned champagne brand Laurent Perrier & Cointreau to celebrate making 15 years and moving forward.

Come Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Intercontinental Hotel, on Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria it would be a gathering of titans. By titans we mean some in and outside our clime that have done very well in their fields of endeavors. 6 of the very prominent names that would feayure at this year's WIE (Women: Inspiration & Enterprise are as follows- The richest Black woman & African in the universe- Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija, Business Magnate & Philantropist, who is the Spotlight Speaker, Mrs. Toyin Saraki, former First Lady of Kwara State & Founder of The WellBeing Foundation, Mo Abudu, very successful business woman and Chairperson and CEO, EbonyLife TV, Dee Poku, social entrepreneur, marketing consultant and Philanthropic strategist Founder & CEO of WIE, Folake Folarin-Coker, Founder & Creative Director of the award winning style brand Tiffany Amber and the last but not the least person is Julie Gichuru, top Kenyan media personality, a proud mother of 5 kids.

WIE is an annual women's conference and online community aimed at empowering a new generation of women leaders. Some of the speakers that had attended past editions of the WIE symposium are the likes of Melinda Gates- wife of Bill Gates, Diane Von Furstenberg- top designer, Donna Karan- top designer, Ariana Huffington publisher of Huffington Post, Queen Raina, Nancy Pelosi- US Speaker, Iman world famous former model and business woman, Rosario Dawson- famous actress, Aerin Lauder, Lauren Bush just to mention a few.

FOLAKE COKER SHUTS DOWN TIFFANY AMBER

We have not been able to confirm for sure whether it’s for refurbishment or otherwise, but from the little information we could gather the Palms Mall located Tiffany Amber flagship might have been shutdown totally. 

We are hoping that after this write-up, either Folake Folarin-Coker who is the Creative Director of the award winning Fashion/Lifestyle brand or the PR Company handling her account would be nice enough to inform us, about what's next. But knowing, Mrs. Coker very well she might not say anything. What we can tell all of our readers for free right now is that the former store at the Palms Mall just directly opposite the MANGO Franchise has been shut down and already the Mall owners are on the lookout for a new tenant to take over that particular space.  

One other thing we are hearing is that brand might be moving to another smaller space at the same mall, though like we earlier said, we have not been able to fully confirm what's up, but as soon as we have the full details, we would be informing you all. 

The fantastic and award-winning fashion/lifestyle brand was launched about 14 years ago (1998) in Lagos, Nigeria. Folake is one of the very gorgeous daughters of the Parakoyi of Ibadan, a noted Billionaire, who owns the conglomerate known by all as Modandola Group of Companies, with business interest spanning Maritime, Properties and Manufacturing. 

Folake's brand-Tiffany Amber is the only African based fashion label to have shown twice at the New York Fashion Week till date.  She was the Fashion Designer of the Year at the Arise Africa Fashion week, Sandton, South Africa.
