BIG, BOLD AND BADASS GORGEOUS: AN ODE TO THE CURVY LIFE BY LATASHA NGWUBE

A picture or pictures it is said says what normally a thousand words would or could convey. So for this post, we would embrace the less word is more axiom. That's because the pictures all say it all already, so why over flog it!

It's an ode to the curvy life, as poetically rendered by the number 1 (Numero Uno) curvy life exponent herself, the incredible bad mama jammer, Latasha  "the sumptuously curvy" Ngwube.

LATASHA NGWUBE- BIG, BOLD AND BADASS STYLISH!

All Black Everything at the Eloy Awards 2017

Blonde Bombshell

Gorgeous and stylish white dress

Casual elegance

It is raining down fashion and style this week from us or so it seem!

Someone that has caught our undivided attention this week is none other than the chief of the clan of "about the curvy life", in the person of the one and the only, "her royal sumptuoness", 'Duchess Latasha "tashbaby" Ngwube'.

Not very many have the confidence and that is in abundance that this Assistant Editor at Vanguard Allure has. And her confidence we can tell all, came from the fact that she accepted herself to be who she is. Understanding that we all can't be the same, size wise and otherwise. . And that partly is the reason for setting up "About the curvy life", to start a conversation and to sensitise people that some love being curvy! And memnnnnnn she's badass curvy!!!!!

So for the very bold and gorgeous and pretty lady, she's come to understand the kind of things that fits her and at the same time exude sexiness.

She loves fashion to a fault and she's living her dream of being big, bold and stylish, she's Living Lavida Loca......... Crazy style wise! Salute!!!

Check her out!

It’s not a fleeting trend that’s here today and gone tomorrow. “Curvy” is here to stay!  After the triumphant success that Latasha Ngwube’s The About That Curvy Life Collective achieved at Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2016, ATCL is engaging Africa in the conversation about body positivity and size inclusion via LFDW’s esteemed platform.

The About That Curvy Life Collective is proudly powered by tech giant, Intel.  This amazing brand supported ATCL last year, and they are returning this year again, to offer their support.

This is a particularly exciting time for the industry as key players like Intel, who understand the value of empowerment and exist to give technological support to platforms like ours. In this digital age, a brand like Intel keeps us connected, allowing us go further with every stroke on our keyboard is definitely one to have on your team and we are super excited they have come on board once more, on a project like this. Intel itself is no stranger to fashion, as it has been the official technological partner of New York Fashion Week for the last couple of years. Their current slogan #IamPowerful is in line with Aboutthatcurvylife's message of empowerment which affirms a woman's right to want to feel beautiful, confident and stylish at whatever size.

Speaking on what can be expected at the ATCL Collective showcase this year, Ngwube says:

More after the break.

LATASHA NGWUBE'S GROOVY BIRTHDAY SHINDIG!!!!!!!

Date was Saturday, May 12, 2012; Venue was the B'hive, a new first class Crepery/Cafe/Lounge, located at Victoria Arobieke Street, Lekki Phase 1, on the Island. It is owned by one of the most kind-hearted human-beings on the face of the Earth, in the person of Ndidi Anyaehie, a fashion icon par excellence, who also owns the top Lifestyle outfit- Designer's Club; in fact, we hear the store has also moved to the same location, just above B'hive. The event was the birthday celebration of one of our very own, the very delectable and very huggable- Latasha Ngwube.

Latasha needs no introduction, she is ex-ThisDay Style, now of Vanguard Allure, where she is a contributing editor and already many have begun to see her magic wand working out great things at her new work place.

So because she is a jolly good fellow, many friends (older and same age bracket) and a few family members gathered together for a groove to celebrate her. Many that attended confessed that it was a glorious shindig and that they had unrivalled fun.

We were there and we have thought to bring to your viewing pleasure the event in living colours. By the way, we hear the B'Hive has already become the watering hole for the Island's happening crowd.

OUT & ABOUT AT THE AMFW 2012- WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE 1ST DAY

Waoh!!!!, This year's edition of the Arise Magazine Fashion Week 2012, has come and gone and the memories of all the happenstances and the showcase would linger on for many days, weeks and months till the next event in 2013.

We are not quite sure yet, if the next edition of the fashion week (2013) would be in Lagos, as we hear that many are already bidding for it to come to them- Cape Town etc, but wherever it may hold, we are sure it would be a much better event than the out gone one. This was a great success though.

For the designers that showcased-77 in all, an unprecedented number at that, it was a platform to either showcase their extraordinary talent and launch them towards unprecedented success, while for a few of them, it was obvious they still needed to fine-tune those talents as their showcase showed they still needed a bit of mentoring and maturing.

At the end of it all, the organizers of the event- ARISE MAGAZINE under the able leadership of Prince Nduka Obaigbena- the one and only Duke of Journalism must be commended for doing their best, in spite of all they had to overcome to bring to all a great event or fashion week. It’s not an easy thing to put together events of this caliber where nearly everything that should be standard had to be provided, most importantly-POWER (Electricity).

The first day of the event could not happen because of some technical hitches, also the Nigerian models nearly held the organizers to ransom over payment disparity (they thought the amount to be paid the international models against theirs was totally out of order), but thank God for the quick thinking intervention of some, the revolt was quickly nipped in the bud and the instigators were quietly weeded out. It’s better not to dwell on the little hitches here and there during the fashion week, but better to talk about the many good points of the fashion week and those were too numerous to mention, and we will try our best to touch on as many as possible.

In this report, we are showcasing a bit of the backstage preparation- make-up, hair and fittings, some pictures of some fashionistas on the red-carpet and generally out and about everywhere on the day that should have been the 1st day of the fashion week.

Enjoy!!!
