GOVERNOR ELECT OF OGUN STATE, PRINCE DAPO ABIODUN IN A TESTIMONY RECOUNTS THE MOUNTAIN HE HAD TO OVERCOME TO BECOME THE GOVERNOR ELECT

Prince Dapo Abiodun

25 YEARS RELATIONSHIP/FRIENDSHIP COUNTED FOR NOTHING OVER AMBITION.

The gentleman Governor Elect of Ogun state, recounts what 25 years of friendship meant to the outgoing Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun. He also recounts how because of his ambition he was sent on a fool's errand, by the outgoing Governor.

Read his testimony at a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, in London below. This testimony was written verbatim by Mr. Tolani Abati, aka the Prof.

AMOSUN AND I HAVE BEEN FRIENDS FOR OVER 25 YEARS AND YET......DAPO ABIODUN

Mr Dapo Abiodun, the governor elect of Ogun State gave the testimony of his sojourn in the mine field and sharks invested waters of politics at the Redeemed Christians Church of God, London parish recently which has been trending on YouTube for some days now.

Here is the abridged version of the testimony as transcribed.

"Someone say alleluia . I sneaked into the church this morning, I was sitting at the back because I didn't want to cause any sensation.

I spent the last one year in the campaign train, talking and sharing my vision with the people of Ogun State and largely Nigerians.

I came into London just to have a me time. Pastor Agu has been my friend for many years. He decided that I should come and sit in front. Pastor Badejo is someone who is close to my family and I. As he preaches and shares the testimony, he began to prick my conscience. And as the service progressed, it was all about testimonies and I thought that, God will not forgive me if I didn't come forward to share a bit of my testimony and my holy God moment.

My name is Dapo Abiodun. I am the governor elect of Ogun State. I am a member of of Redeemed Christian Church of God London (applause). I stand here to the testimony of the wholesomeness of the almighty God and the fact that God is greater than man.
God will be God and man will continue to be man. Because if it were man, I will not be the governor elect of Ogun State today.

I will share a few things with you and I will be very brief. I have been in the private sector but I have always had the passion for politics.

In 1997, I made my first showing in politics. I ran for senate and I became senator elect. I was the youngest ever elected in Nigeria. I was so young there was controversy that I was probably too young to be sworn in. Because, the age limit then was 40 and I was quite not 40.

Fortunately or unfortunately the Head of State then died and that republic came to an end.
I tried again in 2015. I was persuaded to run for the senate . I didn't quite win. I was rigged out. I went to court and I won at the tribunal . It went on to appeal and it was overturned. I was so unhappy that I thought to myself, this should be it . I am done with politics. God is telling me something. I must just face my business. That politicians are not trustworthy. They are not reliable. That politics is just a waste of resources and money and all that.

In 2017, I had an unfortunate incident. I lost my first son. Life couldn't have dealt me a worse blow. For over six months I could not function. I could not go to work. I became completely restless.

In 2018, someone came to me and said would I consider going back to politics? I said never. Time after time I will be talked to . Then it was suggested that I should go for senate. Senate? I said I was not interested. I have done it twice , I am not  interested. God definitely doesn't want me to be a senator.
As time goes on, someone asked me if I would consider being a governor. I said that I will consider. But I will first go to God and hear what God has to say about it.
To cut a long story short , I became convinced that God indeed wanted me to be governor of Ogun State. I could not explain it. I sat down with the incumbent Governor (Amosun). I had a chat with him. Of course he said no, never. I will offer you the senate. I said I don't want the senate.

Eventually our pastor prof, that is the vice president intervened and said may be you should consider the senate. I said okay, alright, I will do it. Only to find out that the incumbent governor (Amosun) that indeed offered me senate, did not actually mean it. He was actually just leading me on. And when it became clearer, I went back to Pastor prof and I said, Pastor prof, God is telling me something. I am going to be the next governor of Ogun state.

Church, like Pastor Agu said, it was probably the most turbulent, the most bumping, the most challenged and the most difficult of all the elections in Nigeria.
From my primary process, the incumbent governor did everything humanly possible to stop me. This is considering the fact that, the incumbent governor has been a friend of mine for over 25years.

He did everything humanly possible to stop me. But at every point in time, I serve a living God (applause). The God that I serve is a God that makes impossible possible.
He is a God that makes a way even where there appears to be no way.
People have asked me what keeps me going ? What drives me ? And I said to them, first I am a testimony of God mercy. Pastor Agu knew when I had an accident and I had to be flown here (London) against all odds. My faith in God is a mountain moving faith.

My favourite passage in the  Bible is Mark 11 chapter 23. (He quotes)...................

ALARM RAISED IN OGUN STATE BY INCOMING GOVERNMENT OVER PLAN TO SABOTAGE HER BY OUTGOING GOVERNMENT OF IBIKUNLE AMOSUN

Senator Ibikunle Amosun

It seems like what couldn't be achieved via the ballot/election at the last Ogun State Gubernatorial Election 2019 is what the outgoing Governor and his administration wants to make happen at all cost now with only a few weeks to their handover.

Against what he wants, Senator Elect and outgoing Governor of Ogun State, in the person of Senator Ibikunle Amosun would be handing over to his sworn enemy, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who gallantly defeated his anointed candidate, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade at that  election to become the Governor Elect of Ogun State against all odds.

So now that the Governor is done with that dastardly project at which he failed, which was to prevent Prince Dapo Abiodun at all cost from becoming the next Governor, the best & only option now left is to sabotage the incoming government as much as possible, even before that government would take over from the outgoing administration. So with the many clandestine activities of the outgoing which the APC in Ogun State is not finding funny at all, the spokesperson for the party in the state has raised the alarm to warn all those involved as per the repercussions that awaits those involved in all the rush-rush acts.

Hear him-

11th HOUR TRANSACTIONS; CAVEAT EMPTOR (BUYERS BEWARE)!*

It has come to our notice that the outgoing administration of His Excellency, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, is busy with last minute awards of contracts, selling and auctioning of government properties, and secret  recruitments into the civil service, in a way to tie the hands of the incoming Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

While we find these reported last-minutes awards of contracts, withdrawals from treasury, sales of land and illegal recruitment of Senator Amosun’s cronies into senior positions of the Ogun State Civil Service very shocking, our party wishes to warn the members of the general public that such hurried transactions would not necessarily be binding on the incoming administration.

We urge Ogun State’s top senior civil servants not to be part of the desperate moves of the departing Governor to undermine the socio-economic stability of our State, by engaging in, condoning or being part of any act that breaches or constitute a flagrant abuse of laid-down rules, regulations and due process.

It is our belief, that an administration with less than two months to handover, should, by now, be preparing its handover notes for a smooth transition, instead of digging pits for the incoming government. May we also reiterate here that all loans, overdraft and financial obligations, that do not follow due process, including the approval of the Ogun State House of Assembly, would not be honoured.
To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

SEEMS LIKE THE CAT BEHIND THE MASK IN OGUN STATE IS OIL AND GAS BILLIONAIRE, ALHAJI ABDUL WASIU OLATUNDE SOWAMI OF PRUDENT OIL

Abdulwasiu Olatunde Sowami 2nd from left.

Abdulwasiu Olatunde Sowami, 2nd from right in white

It is very interesting that in the last few months the name of this very quiet and under the radar, big fish but filthy rich oil and gas czar has sprung up. Prior to a few months ago when it was discovered that he was the one buying out Femi Otedola many had not known him, except maybe those very conversant with the oil and gas dealings in Nigeria. That Femi Otedola billionaire owner of Forte Oil had decided to divest totally his investment in the downstream sector of the oil and gas business had caught every one napping. Though the announcement was surprising, but what was more surprising was that it was a Nigerian Company-Prudent Energy Services owned by a Nigerian--Alhaji AbdulWasiu Olatunde Sowami, who many had not known prior to that time, was the brain behind the brand.

The truth is that, it's not as if he was a neophyte who had only just barged in into the very lucrative oil and gas business, far from it. It was just that unlike many of his colleagues in the business who loved the notoriety and fame that big money brings, as a practicing moslem he just preferred to be under the radar. Not for him the Banana Island or Parkview Ikoyi gigantic home, not even a house yet at the famous Billionaire's row in Ikoyi (he apparently lives in Ogba, Ikeja), not for him the private jets, not for him the many humongous cars that are tagged the super automobile of the rich and famous, or even the luxury yacht, that became the separator of the rich and wealthy sometime ago.

Apart from the time a few years back, when he was one of the 6 bigwigs who were arrested then in 2012 and interrogated for their alleged involvement in the fuel scarcity scam, he was just another businessman in that sector doing his business without unnecessary attention. The others arrested then were Odjegba Onoriode of Eurafrica Coastal Services, Ejiofor Innoma Chikadibia of Caades Oil and Gas, Gladys Amaefula of Somerset Oil and Gas, Mallam Bashir Adamu Gusau of Imad Oil and Gas and Sir Daniel Chikwudozie of Dozzy Oil and Gas limited. They had all been recommended by the then Presidential Committee on Oil Subsidy.

Sowami's company, Prudent Energy had been paid a total of N1.3 billion based on a single importation of 18,316,767 million litres of PMS. They were supposed to have been arranged at the end of investigation but nothing ever came out of it. Fast forward to 2017, Prudent Energy Services was still one of the 50 companies that got approved to lift a total of 1.3mbd oil amongst 50 companies to have gotten the approval then for 2017/2018 meaning they either must have scaled through the allegations of past or that the allegations against them didn't hold no water. What Prudent Energy Services got with the approval of their bid was a crude oil term contract to lift 32,000 barrels of crude per day.

So from the above one would have been able to deduce that the graduate of the University of Maiduguri, didn't just stumble on money today and him or his company emerging on the scene and buying Femi Otedola's 75 % stake in Forte Oil is not a flight of fancy or a bolt out of the blue. For you to better understand the level at which Sowami plays, maybe you should all know the condition attached to being one of those successful to lift crude oil in Nigeria. The potential off-takers must have a minimum annual turnover of $500 million dollars for 2016 & a networth of at least $250 million Dollars for 2016, that's apart from having audited their 2015/2016 accounts.

So when somehow you begin to hear that the man behind PRUDENT ENERGY Services is a close, very close friend of the outgoing Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and that the quiet man in his personal capacity was in fact, the big boy sponsor of APM's Adekunle Akinlade's Gubernatorial ambition with the full support of Senator Amosun, then one must take notice. Not until after the election was over and Hon. Akinlade lost to another oil and gas Czar in the person of Prince Dapo Abiodun who owns Heyden Oil, before the cat behind the mask was actually discovered, to be Alhaji Abdulwasiu Olatunde Sowami. Now at least one can understand the reason behind the confidence that Hon. Adekunle Akinlade showed throughout. You can not have men of timber and caliber likes of an influencial Governor & a man of extraordinary means and not be over filled with confidence.

PETER "THE ROCK" FAYOSE EX-GOVERNOR OF EKITI MOCKS SENATOR IBIKUNLE AMOSUN OF OGUN STATE & HIS CANDIDATE, APM'S ADEKUNLE AKINLADE ON THEIR LOSS

Peter Ayodele Fayose

Senator Ibikunle Amosun

Former Governor of Ekiti State in the person of the now comedian, Peter Ayodele 'the rock'  Fayose has thought to rub salt on the open wound or should we say injury of the still very shocked outgoing Governor of Ogun State  now a Senator elect, in the person of, His Excellency Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

In a series of tweets, full of mockery, Fayose went for the jugular of Amosun, mocking him while reminding him of his large part in the way Fayose's candidate in Ekiti was dealt with at the last election in the State in 2018.

Hear him in the 1st tweet- YE Ibikunle Amosun, pls join us as we battle our orchestrated 'loss' at the tribuna. What goes around as come round. You 'Ja Ekiti gba". They have ' Ja Ogun gba",
YE, please remember to congratulate HE. Dapo Abiodun O.

My name is Ayo Fayose.

And in the 2nd tweet, he in fact twisted the knife that was still in the open wound, when he went.......

'I congratulate Gov. Ibikunle Amosun for LOSING the guber election of his political son, Adekunle Akinlade of APM. He can now join our club, having forcefully supervised & funded the rigging of Ekiti 2018 election by the same Prof. Abdulganiyu Raji who served as REC in both states'.

If truly Senator Amosun is complicit in what Ayo Fayose has raised in his 2 tweets, he must be regreting his part in the deed terribly now.

IN OGUN STATE, IT'S LOOKING LIKE A TOTAL CHANGE OF BATON AS GNI IS LOOKING LIKE THE NEW KING TO BE!

Still basking the euphoria of his win in the Senatorial election of last week, the outgoing Governor of Ogun State, his excellency Senator Ibikunle Amosun might have gotten more bold now, to want to see to a logical end/conclusion, his experiment at getting his preferred candidate, Hon. Adekunle AKINLADE to win the next Gubernatorial election in Ogun State, so that he could succeed him.

The stress of fighting on 2 fronts at the same time is no more now, especially since he has now won his own battle, so it's now one down and the major one to go. But from all indications the battle is going to be fierce and not easy at all, especially with the Governor's candidate, Hon. Adekunle AKINLADE being a member of another party, APM that is Allied People's Movement. & not supported by the APC at all.

What this intractable division in the ruling party has done to their chance of winning the next Gubernatorial election come March of 2019, is to open them to a seeming defeat and embarrassment and that's because, "a house divided against itself, cannot stand", not to talk of winning an election, especially a close one like this one would be.

What has been a seeming loss for the APC and its candidate in the person of oil and gas multimillionaire Otunba Dapo Abiodun, might have become a great gain for the candidate of the ADC (African Democratic Congress), in the person of Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, GNI for short. And it's not even only in the APC that they haven't been able to close ranks, even the PDP that should have become the strong opposition are even far worse off, with opposing factions claiming to represent party at the election. If they cannot fight the upcoming battle as one, how can they ever win the war!

To say the least, a lot of great advantages have swung the way of the candidate of the African Democratic Congress, in the amiable gentleman known to all as Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka.

A few of the reasons why many have already concluded that he might just be the next executive Governor of Ogun State are as follows. One, GNI even without the troubles bedeviling the 2 major Parties in the state - that is the APC & PDP in Ogun State, was already a force to reckon with in the politics of Ogun State in last decade. He was in the government of Otunba Gbenga Daniel before and he even vied at a point to represent the same PDP as the Gubernatorial candidate of the party at one point, but he wasn't favored hence he resigned from their party. Two, because of the troubles that has bedeviled those 2 parties and which has whittled down their support base, infact dividing it considerably, GNI has since become a bridge and is even considered as a fantastic alternative to the 2. And the loss of support base has been to the good of their arbiter-GNI. Three, GNI himself is well embedded in the politics of Ogun State and infact has immense grassroots support, coupled with the support of the state's elite too. Fourth, the area, Yewa, that GNI actually represents or is actually from, is seen by all to have been marginalized all of this while, so it is somewhat accepted by all, that it is their turn, for someone from that end, to climb up and become the next Governor of the State. So that things would be seen to be fair to all parts of the state. From when the state was established, no person of Yewa extraction, none at all has ever ruled or governed the state before, while the Egbas & Ijebus have on several occasions. Fifth, of all the candidates that are aspiring to become the Governor of the state, none is better qualified in any ramifications than GNI is. Infact his pedigree, that is without any controversy whatsoever speaks for him. And he also has good public and private sectors experience to add to it all. Sixth, from all indications, especially after going through his manifesto, it is quite obvious that he seems to have the best ideas/plans about what he wants to do/achieve for the state

So are we expecting that change of baton, come March 2019 from the APC to another party???? A very pregnant question, it seems! Let's just wait and see how things would pan out. But all pointers, seemingly points to an upset of stratospheric proportion upcoming.

GOING, GOING, GONE!!! NO, NOT AT ALL. ATLEAST NOT YET FOR SENATOR IBIKUNLE AMOSUN AS HE ALLEGEDLY DUMPS THE APC FOR THE ACCORD PARTY OVER THE HUMILIATION OF HIS PREFERRED CANDIDATE NOT BECOMING THE PARTY'S ASPIRANT

The 2 friends at Dapo Abiodun's 56 birthday 2 years prior.

Dapo Abiodun

The shortfall of the humiliation that his boy didn't come out tops as really affected Senator IBIKUNLE AMOSUN the outgoing Governor of Ogun State and because of it, some have claimed he has already dumped his party the APC for another, said to be the Accord Party.

If he were to do that then, it would mean he doesn't even mind the fact that his avowed friendship with the President would be shaken/disturbed!!!! And that would amount to him throwing all he had worked for and built all of these years to the dogs without a care in the world.

His vehement opposition to his erstwhile friend-Dapo Abiodun's Governorship ambition is totally unsettling though, making some to even doubt there was ever a genuine friendship at all in the 1st instance. For how can your so called bosom friend want something and needs your support and you are totally and unrepentantly without a care at that against it!!! But according to a school of thought, Senator Ibikunle Amosun's opposition to Dapo Abiodun's ambition might have stemmed from the fact that he like most people, like most of us also, wouldn't want to hand over to someone, that is perceived to be wiser than you and that wouldn't ever ever be your puppet or stooge, one that you can't easily control from the apron string. That kind of person that you would push to the position of power and relevance and that must forever be at your beck and call forever. One other supposed reason for the Governor's opposition also might be because he sees Dapo Abiodun as a paperweight electorally; how can someone who couldn't win a an election to be a Senator of a few Constitutencies, now wants to prosecute a Gubernatorial ambition which is even on a far bigger scale?

More after the break.

CONFUSION BREAK BONE!!!! IS IT DAPO ABIODUN OR AKINLADE? WHAT'S GOING ON?

Dapo Abiodun

Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade

It has been intrigues and confusion galore in Ogun APC as those twin maladies have covered what should have just been a straightforward Primary to pick or chose the Governorship flag bearer of the party for the state. Conflicting reports have filled the air and it is obvious from all the happenings that the party itself is super confused and that does not augur well for it in anyway or manner.

First one of those that was supposed to have contested the Primary in the person of Jimi Lawal claims categorically that no primary whatsoever took place at all, that he was shocked that results were later announced and the winner declared as Akinlade.

The beginning of the confusion began with utter violence on 2 occasions, when supporters of 2 of the aspirants, that's the supporters of oil magnate, Dapo Abiodun, who is the owner of Heyden Oil clashed with the supporters of Hon. Adekunle Abdulkabir Akinlade, who is the Governor's outright and preferred candidate. Guns and other weapons were freely used which ensured pandemonium and the meeting was canceled.

So after the gathering were dispersed for the sake of peace, so as to all meet again to agree on how the primary must go, the only thing to happen afterwards was the declaration by 2 different/parallel camps that their candidates have won. First the state party structure/hierarchy which is totally skewed towards the Governor of state, in the person of Senator Ibikunle Amosun, declared that Adekunle A. Akinlade had won!; Then afterwards, the party NWC which normally should be the highest ruling organ and arbiter to declare who the candidate should be, said it was Dapo Abiodun. And so people thought that was done and dusted. But alas no! There was still more confusion and intrigue in the offing!

So it was actually announced that Dapo Abiodun had carried the day and then a list was released with his name amongst the 24 who had won their various primaries, only for a change to later happen again claiming it was again Akinlade, after some Governors had met with the President of the Country, President Muhammadu Buhari.

So please APC who once and for all is the choice of the party? Dapo Abiodun or Hon. Adekunle Abdulkabir Akinlade?

THE ARDUOUS & TERRIBLY HORRIFIC JOURNEY TO ABEOKUTA VIA SANGO-OTA

Senator Ibikunle Amosun

Much as the fact was that we had a super fun time at the wedding reception of Oladipo and Ayomide Dabiri in Abeokuta, Ogun State (that's the wedding between Senator Ibikunle Amosun's daughter and the son of Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa), we missed the other 2 parts-introduction and traditional engagement due to the long journey from Lagos to Abeokuta.

The journey to getting to Abeokuta to say the least was tortuous and extremely horrible due to state of the road.

For those living along the route, from Amje which is a still part of Lagos State, going towards Sango-Ota, which is the border town and already a part of Ogun State, heading towards Ifo, still going through Papalanto heading to Ewekoro till we got to Aro then heading to Abeokuta, the roads were in a state of terrible and unbelievable disrepair. It's like those who live around those areas have lost total contact amd connect somewhat with Government and Governance!

Truth be told, we were totally and utterly disappointed, that such an area had any connection whatsoever to a former President of the nation, in person of Chief Olusegun Aremu Okikiola Obasanjo, who we hear lives in Ota and whose humongous state of the art farm is said to be in Ota also.

From our little experience on that road, it was like no Government of any kind worth her salt existed or exists along this path.

Imagine that a bridge which must have cost several millions of Naira was built at a particular portion of that road, but just 20 to 30 meters away from that bridge, the portholes on the road were of the most unkind types. One would have thought that the bridge would have meant the roads around it would have been repaired, at least to give the bridge value, but alas No!!!

The most shocking spot, that really took the wind out of us, was right along where the well known cement factory Lafarge is situated at.

Imagine that along that long stretch of road next to that world class factory was the most terrible part of the road!

The state of disrepair we saw should be a big shame to such a brand and a responsible government of any kind. How trucks and trailers etc pass along that route to enter the company to take delivery of loads of cements and then going away to go deliver is quite baffling.

Imagine that a journey, which very normally should take at most 1 hour 30 minutes could take one, about 2 to 3 hours plus, depending on the level of traffic at the time! We hear it could as horrible as 4 hours and more if there's traffic!

So what is the benefit of governance then? Especially if a major road that is used and must be used by all is allowed to get to such a level and then there's even no hope that it would be repaired?

From the looks of things, it's like those along that corridor are the forgotten and the neglected.

When Government claims that they have provided or are providing dividend of democracy for the people that brought them to power, what are these so called dividends then?

If the very obvious can so degenerate to this kind of state? What state then would the not so obvious be?

ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE WELCOMES THISDAY AWARD 2013

SENATOR IBIKUNLE AMOSUN

BILL CLINTON

PRINCE NDUKA OBAIGBENA
We had announced before that all things being equal that this year's ThisDay award was set to have taken place on Valentine's day(Thursday, February 14, 2013) at the Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos). But alas the award didn't happen on the said day due to many factors.

Now we have been able to get the date for the award proper, according to our findings the ThisDay award 2013, where teachers and those in the education sector are being recognised and rewarded for all their hard-work of many years is set for a venue, yet to be announced in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The venue according to what we hear, would only be announced to the specially invited guests.

The special guest of honour for the 18th edition of the ThisDay award is none other than the 42nd President of the United States of America, Mr. William 'Bill' Clinton, who would be making his third appearance as a special guest of ThisDay.

This particular edition of the prestigious award is 'celebrating the best and brightest teachers'. It is in recognition of the critical role they play in human capital development, socio-cultural and economic advancement of Nigeria. Over the months ThisDay readers had sent in nominations of their favourite teachers numbering a total of 750.

A shortlist of those to be awarded would be provided by a distinguished panel headed by former director at the World Bank, Mrs Oby Ezelwesili and the panel includes the likes of Mr. Fola Adeola, former MD/CEO of Gtbank & Mallam Haruna Adamu, a veteran journalist.

We hear that several factors made for the choice of the ancient town of Abeokuta, Ogun State. A town where many distinguished Nigerians hail from. Apart from the fact that the current Governor of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, is said to be taking giant strides in transforming the education sector in his domain, there are several historical factors that tilted the choice Abeokuta way.

The 1st secondary school in Nigeria, Abeokuta Grammar School, was established in 1908 in Abeokuta. The town is also known for many other 1sts.
- 1st Bible to come to Nigeria, was received in Abeokuta.
- 1st Church in Nigeria, was established in Ake, Abeokuta.
- 1st Newspaper in Nigeria, was established in Abeokuta.
- 1st Nobel laureate for Africa, Professor Wole Soyinka is from Abeokuta.
- 1st Chief Justice of the Federation, Sir Adetokunbo Ademola, was from Abeokuta.
- 1st Nigerian Lawyer- Sir Alexander Akintola Sapara Williams, was from Abeokuta.
- 1st Permanent Secretary & Head of Service in Nigeria- Chief Simon Adebo.
- 1st Woman to drive a car in the Country-Mrs Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti was from Abeokuta.

So come Tuesday, February 26, 2013, Abeokuta, Ogun State would agog as top digniatries converge for the ThisDay award 2013.
