This wedding party most definitely, is what can be described as the perfect year starter without a doubt. This humongous wedding party, if we can try to describe it most appropriately, would most definitely help decide what a first class, well planned, well managed, well attended, high brow wedding should be like in 2020.

However you want to describe it, it met the yardstick by whatsoever parameters you may want to determine it by or judge it. It would most certainly be one of the weddings of the year 2020, after the year might have ended and then the top 10 weddings of the year would have been picked.

And we are talking here about a real wedding party & not a film at all, with the hashtag #MUchlove2020 to go. We had anticipated it knowing who Ogbueshi Chike Ogeah is, but we were still a bit surprised though at what we saw live. It was the ceremony of the wedding between the eldest and only daughter of the amiable, highly respected, highly connected, tall fine man, who was the former Commissioner for Information in Delta State, Chike Ogeah, who with his supremely gorgeous wife, Olufunke Ogeah, who is not a push over at all too like her husband, in conjunction with the family of the Awosemos hosted, the wedding of the month and by extension a candidate for the wedding of the year of their children, Uchenna Adaora Ogeah to Mayowa Awosemo.

This couple can be described as one of the luckiest couples in town. Reason been that, their parents and family members pulled all the strings and did all they could to make this happen in an awesome way. For Chike and Olufunke, this is the 1st wedding ever of a few to come, that they would host for their children. Uchenna is their eldest child and only daughter and a super brilliant and well behaved one at that too. The Chemical Engineer graduate of Aston University, Birmingham, England with a Masters degree, is the 1st of 3, made up of 1 daughter and 2 handsome sons. She works at Exxon Mobil and her colleagues, stormed the wedding in numbers to celebrate her, all looking super cool. Mayowa, the handsome groom, now the husband, is not a pushover in any way or manner too. His dad was a power house member of the then NTA, in her heydays. No wonder that we saw the likes of Sienne Allwell-Brown, Ruth Benamasia, Ronke Ayuba, John Momoh, now owner of Channels TV and more at the wedding reception. Mayowa is a graduate of  Economics and International Relations with both 1st and 2nd degrees from Bradford University, also in the UK, he presently works at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

No one that attended this wedding will forget it in a hurry, the merriment was unparalleled. And all who have the means, the wherewithal, the resources to organize a first class shindig for the kids, would have gone back to the drawing board, to go and re-plan, having seen this classy one and having it at the back of their mind as a guide.

The Marquee at Harbour Point was well chosen as a venue. The wedding reception itself was ably planned by event architect of note, Florence H, ably led and owned by Ibidunni Ighodalo, whose very handsome husband, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, officiated the church wedding service. Pastor Ituah, as most prefer to address him, is the lead pastor at Trinity House on Water Corporation Drive and he has been the bride's dad close friend now of close to or about 40 years.

So even after officiating a beautiful solemnization at his church for the couple, which was also very well attended by all, he was up and about at the wedding reception also too.

There were 120 tables of 10 chairs each available for the guests, who came in torrents from as early as 3.30pm. The venue was planned for 1200 guests. But we believe, it could have hosted as many as 1500 guests, on the day. The wedding theme was gold, so the color was somewhat prominent. The walkway, which was gold led to the gold raised platform or better still dance platform right in front of the beautiful stage. Which was set up to be the cynosure of all eyes. Kudos to the organizers for the neat arrangements. From all angles, you cannot miss that stage, it was a glaring center of attraction.

Just the couple alone, were the prince and princess of the day. So nothing must over shadow them. It was arranged in a way that none can take the shine off them. On their left was the deejay stand, with the Cake stand just at the front on the left. Then on their right was the bandstand, where the Veentage Band were. And this band was outstanding all the way and all through. They gave an extraordinary account of themsleves. So good were they that they in fact, left the Deejay in limbo, till the after party whoxh was much much later.

Now we know that a KSA doesn't have to be at a party before it would rock and rock and be seen to be a 1st grade one. Veentage Band gave a mishmash, a potpourri, a mixture of the exciting old and the new. It was a diverse range or mix that appealed to all &bsundry, both old and young. It was 'funtastic'.

The guest-list was something else too. To start with, going about naming names might not actually do justice to the event, as there were too many classy and popular people, too numerous to mention that attended. So we would just attempt to name just a few, so it wouldn't be like we didn't try to. There were Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila (speaker of the Federal House) and wife, Prince Dapo Abiodun (Governor  of Ogun State) & wife, Prince Nduka Obaigbena publisher of This Day Newspaper, Yomi and Oyinkan Badejo Okusanya, Tayo Ayeni of Skymit, Lai Oriwo, Dr. Eyimofe Atake, SAN and wife, Ruth Osime, Helen Ajayi, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi of SIFAX Group and wife, Richard Mofe Damijo, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan's daughter Orone, Nnamdi Okonkwo (MD of Fidelity Bank) and wife, Maiden Ibru (publisher of Guardian Newspaper), Bisi Olatilo, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Segun Awolowo, Reuben Abati, Dr Lanre Tejuosho. Titi Gomez, Ernest Ndukwe, Waheed Olagunju, Anselm Tabansi, Alistair Soyode, Ayo Subair and too many others too many to mention. Every one was gaily dressed and the men were all neat and quite dapper in their outfits. 

Daddy of the adorable bride was quite emotional and it showed on his face for a long period of time. The friends of the couple came in great numbers to celebrate them and men, some of the young ladies were dazzling in no small measure. 

Apparently husband and wife were introduced to each other by the husband's twin sister over a decade ago. She revealed this as she gave the toast. Muyiwa's twin sister and Uchenna have been friends now for eons. And she was the only female on the side of the groom's men and she wore her own green suit too like one of them, looking scrumptiously gorgeous.

Party was still in full swing as at 9pm when we took our leave. 

Kudos to the families for a swell party. Salute also to the orgainisers for a good job well done.

Paris and the Parisians had a feel of what moneyed Africans can make happen over the weekend, when the super well to do Anumudu clan stormed the stylish and romantic and sophisticatedly stylish city with their friends for the wedding of one of their sons by name 'Enyinna Obinna Anumudu' to celebrity make up artist to the stars and celebs by name 'Joyce Ifeoma Jacob'.

What happened in Paris, France was the final installment of a ceremony that had begun in Nigeria many months back. There was the introduction and then the gorgeous but understated "traditional wedding" known as "igba nkwu" which is a must for the Ibos, if a marriage would be stamped and approved. In fact for the Ibos no matter what. The igba nkwu-the ibo traditional wedding ceremony suffices far above any other type of ceremonies, be it court or church wedding for the Ibos of South-East Nigeria. The Anumudu and Jacob kids had had a quiet, more subdued registry wedding earlier in the year and because of how quiet that ceremony was against all expectations, many were misdirected to think the massive society wedding they had envisaged and were eagerly awaiting was not/never going to happen again.

But we knew from the get go, that instead of a "mother of all society weddings" in Lagos or the East  that many were expecting & were preparing to storm at all cost, that it was rather going to be a more refined, quite classic 'destination wedding' in Paris, France at least as that was what the bride had told us several months ago then, when we had a chance encounter with her at a fashion house on the Island. And so after several months of waiting, the classy, thoroughly stylish white wedding took place over the weekend, Saturday June 22, 2019 to be more precise. And the venue of choice in beautiful Paris, for the white wedding was the American Church in Paris and the reception was at none other than the super prestigious 'Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris, France'.

We wouldn't or in fact couldn't  stop reiterating the fact that it was a classy affair by all standards, by every standards one can judge it by. Venue is already well appointed, so the addition that was added took it many notch up in terms of the flower arrangement. Or what else could one have even expected as the Anumudu's, the owners of Globe Motors amongst several major investments are known to be super liquid and therefore could literally make magic happen without any stress or whimper. 'Uncle Willie' like the family patriarch is referred to, that's talking about 'William Anumudu' had invested very well over the years and his family are enjoying the fruit of those early well placed investments now. Uncle Willie's 'stupendously stylish wife' on the other han, aa fantastic personality of you know her, is known to dictate to the Nigerian fashion scene with much aplomb & elegant finesse. So fashion-forward is 'Nkiru Anumudu' that some of her ensemble, are as they are just getting released from the factory of the brands that made them. She is even reputed to wear some things just before they come out or are released. Nkiru in fact as we know, is on first name basis and speed dial with the likes of "Stefano Gabanna and Domenico Dolce", the duo owners of Dolce & Gabanna, one of the world's most iconic fashion labels. She in fact is called by the duo to have a 1st glimpse/peek & pick of their collection before it becomes public view.

Nkiru, the mother of the groom-Enyinna is ascribed as one of Nigeria's most stylish ladies and her only daughter Ozinna, who has gotten a flair from her mom and is a sibling of the groom, is in fact also a super stylish young lady, in fact she's rated as one of the most stylish and fashion forward young Nigerian & African around presently.

Had it not been that the white wedding was held in Paris, it most probably could have been one of the biggest and most stylish weddings of the season in Nigeria by all standards. Though it didn't hold in Lagos, those who were privileged to attend the Paris function, ably represented super well with sizzle and pomp on the style stake too. The Paris location, in fact must have restricted the number of guests that made the wedding to what it was, and that's chiefly because it's not that easy to get EU/Shenghen visa. Even at that, many still attended to support their friends-The Anumudus and Jacob.

The ever in your face mother of the groom, killed it with her #MaisonValentino badass outfit that she crowned with her usual stand out fascinator, this one was by Piers Atkinson, reputed to be one of the best in the market, who equally acknowledged his client. Nkiru's only daughter Ozinna, razzled-dazzled in no small measure in a florescent green show boating outfit made for her and called the "Ozinna dress" by the incredible magician of note known to all as Mai Atafo. Elizabeth Elohor, the high class event engineer and model finder, dazzled in a 'Biyan Official' outfit that she perfectly accessorized. Former 1st daughter of Oyo State didn't come to Paris to play at all as she nearly upstaged all comers in her 'Zuhair Murad' perfecty embellished awesome outfit, that dazzled and dazzled. That dress couldn't have been less than $5000 maybe close to $8000. Now that Abisola Kolapo-Daisi's dad is no more in power as Governor, at least she's now allowed to do her thing without restraint whatsoever. The Editor of 'This Day Style' Ruth Osime, "a fashion graduate from a UK institution was the stupendously gorgeous, elegant peacock in her classy outfit by 'Maison Artc' or better still 'Artc Piece of Mind of Morocco' that stood her out for all to see and applaud. The fashion house is noted for her one of a kind piece they make. Ruth was a perfect supremely elegant and sophisticated Countess Dracula, but in the most gorgeous form possible. Many that understands high fashion would most definitely bow in recognition. Vivian Chioloji-Shittu known to all as a "style maven unparalled", didn't disappoint at all too in her outfit a combo of DG first line and another brand and and she came along with the best arm candy ever, her gorgeous daughter Kamsy Shittu.

Chioma Ikokwu looked every inch a bride in the making as she dazzled to no end in her golden yellow or sunflower yellow silk outfit. We nearly mistook OG Okonkwo of Style Temple as the bride in her stunning, sumptuously sexy white outfit. Jennifer Obayuwana the ED of Polo Ltd, who we have always said without mincing words is a fashion star of high repute, she came expectedly looking badass in her 'Alessandra Rich' sexy outfit which she combines with her 'Amina Muaddi' shoes with the hat and attitude to carry it all with unrepenting panache. She came with her style lord of a dad, Sir John Obayuwana.

Is it possible to say that Rita Dominic is Nollywood's most stylish thespian or it's still a straight battle between Rita and Genevieve for the queen of style? For this wedding Rita's bubble gum pink ensemble was outstanding as one would have expected and that her afro fits her so beautifully.

It was a powerful wedding all the way, with not a few certified billionaires in attendance likes of the wealthiest African man in the world, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Geregu Power boss Femi Otedola who we all now call 'Mr. Tom Ford', just for his love of that fashion brand. Also there quite casual and suave was the UBA Group's chairman Tony Elumelu, so also was big time maritime investor Musa Danjuma, reputed to own the 2nd biggest property in Parkview, Ikoyi, also was Tayo Ayeni of Skymit whose stupendously intimidating edifice in Parkview, Ikoyi is note worthy, in that billionaire category is also Sir John Obayuwana, we saw Collins Chikeluba, Maison Fahrenheit's Anselm Tabansi. We also saw ace thespian and in fact one of the most awarded one and  humanitarian, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Grace Osime, even the Governor of Imo state, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha was in attendance to support his good friend, Willie, so also was Ego Boyo. Many came to show support, on fact some even came and left for another event happening same day but in London, which was a party to celebrate Kemi Ibru's birthday. One of those visibly missed was Mo Abudu whooay probably is putting finishing touches to her daughter's upcoming California wedding.

To tell you all that those that came for the wedding had the best of fun would have been understating it, imagine that the guests partied at the Four Seasons Hotel George V reception venue till at least 3am!!!!!!!

NEPC BOSS SEGUN AWOLOWO & GORGEOUS WIFE BOLA, GEARS UP FOR A JANUARY 2019 SUPERLATIVE WEDDING FOR DAUGHTER-SEGUN AWOLOWO

It's most definitely going to be a superlative gathering come January, the 19th of 2019 just a few weeks after entering the new year as the CEO of Nigeria Export Processing Council that's NEPC for short and his amiable wife, Bola Awolowo who have been married now for a good 28 years, would play host to the world as their first daughter Seun Awolowo who is a about 25 plus would be getting married.

Olusegun Awolowo Jnr, is the "most visible" grandson, grandchild (apart from the wife of the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo who is his cousin) of the late sage and former Premier of Western Nigeria, Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo and his wife the Yeye Hannah Dideolu Obasanjo. Though Segun has an elder sister that's not too popular by name Funke Awolowo.

Segun Jnr is also the only son and child of the very famous matriarch of fashion, Hajia Abah Folawiyo, the owner of award winning Labanella fashion brand, which in its hey days, was the go-to fashion brand for the super rich and famous in Nigeria. 

From all indications, it promises to be a society affair of the monumental kind. Colourful Aso-ebi the African common uniform, have been going round already like it is with Yoruba society event. This promises to be off the hook in many ways bar none. The lady getting married by name Seun, is a niece of the VP through his wife.

The Awolowo family are in the top echelon of Nigerian society so they wouldn't be playing 2nd fiddle at all, especially as it's their daughter's do and it is the family of the wife that normally goes all out in such cases like this, so this would be super upscale by all standards. Segun himself is known to love the spotlight so he is likely to make sure it is one hell of party, like the Americans would say!!!

This is also the marriage of the 1st grandchild of Hajia Abah, a known top matriarch of the Lagos society who is one of the wives (in fact the most visible) of the late billionaire philanthropist Alhaji Wahab Iyanda Folawiyo, the father of Billionaire Tunde Folawiyo. So her friends would give outstanding support like she has done for them too for several years now. Also for the highly connected Barr Segun Awolowo Jnr, this is his 1st child, and his first of this type of party ever so he would want to make it a statement one.

Top Government functionaries across board, corporate colossi and captains of industries of different colouration, the heads of diplomatic corps and other guests etc are expected to grace the occasions. And even the media is already geared up to cover the whole proceedings.

Sadly, one part of the parents of the groom is said to have passed on very recently. So maybe, all things could be postponed or they might still go on as planned.

The promised society wedding has been tagged Zella 2019.

The 56 year old stand out mother of the bride, by name Martha Eseoghene Najomo is the owner of the exclusive, Seraphina Gems, which is renowned for being the stockists of some of the most exclusive gems and jewelries in West Africa. She would be 56 on November 24, 2018. She is from Umolo in Delta State. The exquisite beauty and dresser par excellence, holds an NCE, from College of Education, Abraka and she also holds a BA and Masters in Public Administration, her husband is the famous Cap. Chris Najomo. And both are the parents of 7 adorable kids. Martha is also a grandma too. She started her successful business in Gems trading 8 years ago, March 31, 2010. She has been in business though for 24 years.

The gorgeous gospel singer who looks much like the female version of her dad, had her traditional wedding yesterday, Thursday, October 4, 2018 in Benin, the Edo State capital amidst pomp!!! Sharon's famous dad, Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome is from Benin in Edo state.

Sharon's husband Phillip Frimpong as the name suggests is Ghanaian and he is the Co-founder of an online advertising company by name ONUA.

The white wedding, which is the the final step in the wedding ceremony is tagged "White Royal Wedding" and it is set for Lagos and would be aired on all LoveWorld Networks live. We hear that the officiating minister of the big occasion wouid be nine other than, world famous Televangelist, Pastor Benny Hinn.

This massive do by all standards would be on the front burner and in the minds of all for a very longtime to come. We stress again that, it is probably the biggest wedding of the season bar none. The only way the Dangote's do might have been bigger might just be by virtue of the sheer amount of money expended or maybe the caliber of bigwigs that attended, but apart from the 2 things already mentioned, everything else pales into insignificance in comparison as this is probably the standard by which other ceremonies would be judged or measured for times to come!

There was no stiffness of any kind at this wedding. It is what you can classify as the highest scale of Owanbe.

The Afolabi's led by the head of the clan, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, who is the gentleman Billionaire Executive Vice chairman of Sifax Group a major Nigerian conglomerate, with diversitfied investments in many areas and also the Executive director at SAHCOL who is also the owner of that 5 star Hotel set to be opened in GRA, Ikeja soon before the year ends by name the Marriot and the Omisade's, that's the family of the stupendously gorgeous Bride-Abisola led by her dad-Prince Omisade both went over and above to make the ceremonies one to remember.

The entertainment was top notch all the way. KSA that's King Sunny Ade of the universe had been on the bandstand in IBADAN for the traditional wedding, which was much hosted by the bride's family at the Jogor Center, Ibadan, Oyo State. If that was a fantastic event, the Lagos event topped it by many miles.

Entertainment was provided majorly by the Shuga Band led by the ever impressive Akiin Shuga. He was supported by the a plethora of top reigning musicians from Mayorkun who broke the ice to Reekado Banks to LAX and to the King of them all 2baba who nearly brought down the roof with his awesome performance. 2baba got the whole crowd involved as it became some sort of sing-along and the young crowd bombarded the stage as the couple and 2baba had crazy fun!

The day's very reliable MC, was none other than the very functional Tee A, who controlled proceedings very very well.

The provisions made for the guests were outstanding in all ramifications. There was the overabundance of foods of all types-we cannot just name it all, it was over available and it flowed generously all through the event. Champagne was like water, not to talk of brandy, be it XO or VSOP and other types of liquor and things. It was obvious that good money was well spent. Infact some even exclaimed that it was a trailer load of drinks of all types. Desserts was aplenty, from ice-cream to cakes of all types. Not to talk of grills of all types and even burger etc.

People were served at all times and the choices were staggering.

The guests list was diverse. Royal fathers likes of Ooni of Ife, HIM Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Emperor of Greater Iwo, Emir/Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, Elegushi of Ikateland and environs, Oba Alaiyeluwa Saheed Ademola Elegushi, Oluwu of Owu Egba, Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu and many others, top businessmen and women likes of Tunde Ayeni, Bisi Onasanya, and very many others. Those in the entertainment industry, likes of Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Desmond Elliot, Monalisa, Susan Peters and very many others. Top Government officials, we say Governor Ibikunle Amosun and his gorgeous wife, we also saw Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and loads very many others too numerous to mention.

It was a sea of gorgeous styles of Aso-Ebi. Mennnnnn, come and see babes!! ! All colours, all shapes, all heights, all styles, all kinds. Bisola's friends came in torrents. Some of the styles worn by many of the ladies would wake up the body of an avowed eunuch, mennnn they were bold and in your face.

Harbour Point was totally packed out. Elizabeth R owned by Ibidun Ajayi was  in charge and she did a great job. Bonix drinks, RL Desserts, Jollof Plus so many others truly delivered.

By the time we were leaving the venue, which was at about 10:30pm another epic party of the most awesome kind and dimension had just begun, which was the humongous after party. Imagine that the permanent building in the Harbour Point compound was totally, we mean totally transformed into a super classy nightclub/upscale lounge!!!

There couldn't have been less than a thousand people in that place. Music was E.P.I.C, it was another round of party altogether again, with everything well provided. When we say everything, we say that very well and emphatically! The earliest any would have left that lit party would have been about 3am.

All in all, the party delivered. Lest we forgot, gifts of all type and shapes practically rained down. The excitement is palpable!!!! People have been eagerly awaiting the day. At a point many were wondering why it was taking so long. Introduction was done since very late last year, infact, December Twenty something of 2017 to be more precise. But hey, no more waiting at all now again.

Saturday, this very weekend, September 8, 2018 is the D-day for the engagement and traditional wedding ceremony and it would be in good ole IBADAN, the Oyo State capital. Ibadan would most definitely be agog as dignitaries would flood the venue of the do from all around.

And then the weekend after, on Saturday, September 15, 2018 all roads would lead sumptuously and magnificenttly to the venue of the wedding reception after the Holy solemnization. The reception will be at the Harbour Point on Wilmot Road, Victoria Island as that would be the convergence point for the creme de la creme from the society.

Yinka Afolabi, being the 1st son and 1st child of his father, who is the billionaire businessman owner of Sifax Group and the Executive Director at SAHCOL, he in conjunction with the Omisades, whose daughter Bisola Omisade is the bride, would both not spare any expense to host the world to their kids wedding.

We are expecting a near carnival though. Dr. Afolabi is a known Philanthropist par excellence who people love a lot, so people would flood the venues to come show their support. Also Yinka's younger siblings are well known too, LAX the popular musician would come with his crew and then the younger sister Mariam Afolabi who is also very well known, young designer would also come with her crew too. It's sure going to be one of the too names on the bandstand and we are eagerly counting the days to the D-day too.

Middle of last year May 11 and 13, 2017 to be more precise, in Lagos wouldn't be forgotten in a hurry, as those were the 2 days when the families of Sir Kensington Adebutu and that of Chief Olusegun Aremu Okikiola Obasanjo, GCFR were joined in holy matrimony! The families had done the native law and custom and then sealed it with the church stamp of approval at The Methodist Church of the Trinity, Tinubu, Lagos, on the Saturday, which was the 13th. Maybe that date itself by virtue of hindsight now, being the 13th was a premonition of a sort, of what was to come, humiliation and disaster.

It was a humonguos wedding by all standards possible. In fact, it was rated amongst all the weddings that took place that year as one of the top 3 weddings of that season. Nothing whatsoever was spared. Bride arrived in a brand spanking new glittering white Rolls Royce, while the groom came in another Rolls Royce, but a glistening black one, both came like stars and those that saw them wished they were in their shoes. The money spent to put it all together is still speculated in the region of  hundreds of million Naira, while some have said it was slightly above a billion Naira, some have even claimed that it was far more than that. Imagine a 9 or 10 tiered humongous wedding cake(s) by Cake by Tosan, who is said to be the best in the country! Imagine that Tope's wedding outfit was specially and specifically commissioned by one of the best Lebanese brands, Ziad Nakad, who specializes only in Haute Couture wedding outfits for the best of the best, it is speculated to have cost about $30000 dollars just for that alone, that's not costing the jewelry and other accessories that was used. Her hair throughout the ceremonies was taken care of by the best in Nigeria, that's none other than the incredible, Ugochukwu Igbokwe of Make Me Hair Studios. The whole of the banquet hall of the Eko Hotel Convention Centre was taken and transformed for use, that alone costs several millions of Naira, running to about 20 million Naira! The choice of the best of meals were served, just as the best of drinks too, likes of the best champagnes, brandies, whiskies and cocktails were made available, that alone is several millions of Naira, which could have run into a hundred million on its own. The venue, foods and drinks alone consumed about 150 million Naira. Even the gifts, that the guests all received were totally out of here. Even the invitations must have cost a sizeable chunk.

Any amount that the events might have cost, is most definitely chicken feed for the bride's dad, who is affectionately referred to as 'Baba Ijebu' the same name Nigerians have given to his popular lottery/betting game. He is undoubtedly, the numero uno of lottery and betting in the whole of Nigeria bar none. As the chairman of Premier Lottery and who is also an avowed philanthropist par excellence, Sir Kensington Adebutu is indeed an awesomely wealthy man, by all standards. One whose kids, majorly the men though are all also, stupendously rich too on their own!

The groom's dad is not a minion too by any standards, as he is none other than the former military head of state of Nigeria and then also a 2 terms President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in the person of Chief Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo, GCFR, a former chieftain of the PDP and now referred to as a statesman, but also the convener of the 3rd Force, a new political advocacy group.

The 2 personalities involved in the marriage were, Sir Adebutu's daughter by name Georgina Temitope Oyepero Adebutu, a brilliant magistrate in Ogun State, an alumni of the University of Lagos and the University College London for her Masters, which she got with distinction. Tope was apparently one of the best students in all the schools she has ever attended. Her husband, the businessman son of Chief Obasanjo, in the person of Abraham Olujonwo Ajani Obasanjo, who very much is not known about, other than that, he schooled abroad and is a businessman/farmer, works for his dad.

With how things went, especially the super expensive and lush wedding ceremonies which had all the who-is-who in Nigeria in attendance, many had expected a roller-coaster of a marriage, which at most a year after, would be welcoming and celebrating babies and celebrating some other milestones, but alas, barely just one year after, dark clouds have poured stormy rains on what was once thought to be a match made in heaven and as we speak, the center cannot hold no more and both husband and wife are set on a course in divorceville and both are not willing to rectify or save the marriage, no matter what.

For Temitope Obasanjo nee Adebutu, it has been a very tumultuous and incredulously painful one year, the kind that she cannot pray for her worst enemy to have undergone or experience. Imagine that you are highly expectant after a superlative nuptial ceremony, but all that you experienced from just a few days after the euphoria of the ceremonies have died down, is unimaginable cruelty, neglect or better still desertion and no love whatsoever!

This past weekend while all eyes were on the Shagaya's ad they had their wedding reception  in Lagos, in Calabar, the beautiful and very clean capital of Cross Rivers State, Mr. Donald Duke and his supremely gorgeous and very cultured wife Onari Duke, after only a few weeks when they had a humonguos wedding for their first daughter Xerona as she got wedded to Derin Phillips aka DJ Caise, once again invited friends and family members including business associates to yet another wedding at their home in Calabar.

This time around it was their other very gorgeous daughter by name NETANELA DUKE more referred to as Nela, who had her traditional marriage, native law and custom with her heartthrob, ASUQUO EKPENYONG incidentally the youngest commissioner in any administration in Nigeria. ASUQUO is the current Commissioner for Finance under the Prof. Ben Ayade's administration. He was so appointed in 2015 at age 30, having being born on September 25, 1985.

According to the information we have gotten somewhat reliably, this very well read dude might be the Governor of Cross Rivers State someday in the future, all things being equal. Asuquo Ekpenyong's resume is intimidating and interesting, he finished from the prestigious King's College, Lagos then off to the United Kingdom at University of Reading where he obtained his first degree in Economics. Then he later got his 2nd degree, an MSc in Banking and Financial Services at the same University of Reading. He has since after  attended many executive programs to add to his profile at such prestigious institutions like Harvard University, Howard University both in the US, University of Pretoria, South Africa and EuroMoney Oil and Gas School London, UK.

After a short stint working in the UK, he came back home worked a bit before establishing his own businesses, from where he was later called to come serve his state in charge of finances. He is one of the Governor of Cross Rivers State Professor Ben Ayade's political son, in whom he is well pleased. If in future all the elements align and permutations work out well, Donald and Onari Duke's daughter could also be referred to as a first Lady, like her mom was called for 8 years of 2 terms.

As expected the Dukes were a perfect host as they opened their home to all and embraced all with their warmth and very good nature. We hear the white wedding is slated for this weekend, Saturday, May 12, 2018.
