The hype that had followed this nuptial was something else. Did it live up to expectations, sure it did. The drama and all that followed it was worth the while. Many from Nigeria graced the occasion and added the flair & garnish to it all.
5 star Armani Hotel was the center of attraction that day. It was also like Olakunbi Oyelese was the designer of choice for many of the guests that were there. Truth be told, the hunk himself, Tunji looked super dapper, that outfit of his choice fitted him to a t. We have no comment whatsoever concerning the bride's gown, it was her choice so any which let her have her fun. Everyone who went commended the organization of the wedding, every thing was in the right place and at the right time, you can't fault the organization however sad you are. Which is one of the reasons many love to do destination wedding, another reason is that you cannot just attend, without proper invites. In fact someone exclaimed loudly that it was the best organized wedding she had been to, and she's gone to a couple. So in this post no new stories, gist or gossip. We are just doing a photo speak. Today Saturday, April 26, 2014 is the d-day. Tiwa Savage & her handsome hunk of a guy would finally tie the knot at an exclusive ceremony in Dubai, UAE. The venue of choice we hear would be the Armani Hotel, in Downtown Dubai, which occupies 11 floors of the Dubai Iconic skyscraper, the Burj Khalifa which is undisputedly the tallest building in the world. A night at the hotel ranked 34th out 471 hotels in Dubai is about $500.
The hall inside the Armani Hotel that would be used we hear sits 500 and to fill up those seats, it's like the whole of Nigeria has moved over to Dubai, at least judging by those already in Dubai with the couple. We heard that the gorgeous couple and their guests had a super fantastic time lastnite at the pre-wedding party at the Club Sensation inside the Crowne Plaza, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai. Sheikh Zayed Road where a lot of things happen in Dubai, some of the best hotels in the town are located on the street. Some of those who rocked the town with the couple lastnite and some of those already in town for the wedding were the likes of Toke Makinwa, Don Jazzy, Dr Sid & Simi Osomo, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, Chigurl, Obi Somto, Banky W, Patoranking, Tola Odunsi, Bizzle Osikoya, Paul Okoye, Eku Edewor, Tania Omotayo, Stephanie Coker, Lami Phillips, Reminisce, Olakunbi Oyelese, Iceberg Slim, Toolz Oniru, DJ Xclusive, Elohor Aisien, Lilian Unachukwu, Vina, Remi Fagbohun, Joyce Jacobs, Millen Magesa & so many others. Apparently according to the little information that we had gotten last year after the very big traditional wedding that had nearly the whole of Lagos in attendance, loads & loads of Tiwa's colleague in the industry and KSA on the bandstand, it was supposed to have been a February 2014 white wedding in Maldives, the gorgeous and picturesque island in the Indian Ocean. We had even thought it was going to be a Valentine nuptial. But the whole of February has flown by already and we are nearing the middle of the 3rd month already, yet no news. We have been waiting eagerly to hear about the whole romantic set up, the gorgeous setting, the outfits and the likes. We know for sure that Tiwa & Elohor Aisien had gone to check out Maldives sometime last year.
So what is going on? Have the couple postponed the 'White Wedding' indefinitely? Or after having the very public traditional that had all their friends, family members, admirers in attendance, they have gone ahead to do a very quiet 'Maldives white wedding' with just a few witnesses? We doubt that anyway! At least one or 2 pictures of that would have leaked out for certain.
How do we describe this wedding ceremony? What superlatives can one afford to use? Which is the best way to describe it that would not diminish or take away from the event? Let's just safely describe it as 'a carnival of fun, excitement and enjoyment' at a point it became a 'mini concert sort of'. Even the heavens opened up in apparent blessing, that many had to tagged it the 'showers of blessings' and which stopped afterwards to allow the event go on without any hitch or disruption whatsoever.

Just like we already announced in an earlier post, the album listening party was at the Wheatbaker Hotel in Ikoyi, Lagos. It was Tiwa's own way of bonding with some of her fans, majorly with a few of her support systems, the media and a few of her colleagues.
It was a very well put together event by her management team 323 entertainment headed by her fiance Teebillz & her record label, Mavin Records led by Don Jazzy. The Mavin quartet (Don Jazzy, D'Prince, Dr Sid & Wande Coal) were unavoidably absent has they had to be in South Africa, where they performed to an ovation at the opening of the Big Brother Africa: The Chase reality show. Though they were absent, they sent in a video message that was relayed to all. Don Jazzy thanked all for their support all this while and spoke about the new album in glowing terms. Then immediately to the business of the day, which was the album listening, though we couldn't stay till the end, the bits & bobs that we heard was quite impressive. It was a little bit of everything, like some would say a flavour pool for everyone, showcasing the incredible writing & the singing talent of the 'sonorously' blessed one. It was a gradual unfolding and majestic journey of excellence. This good-natured and gorgeous, singer-entertainer has come of age and matured. Like they say ''like good wine gets better with age''. The about 20 + songs were introduced by Tiwa one after the other, each time giving little titbits about the inspiration & reasons behind each song. This particularly endeared the audience to each jam. The lady of the day, was gorgeously garbed (in a Mary Kartranzou outfit, finished off with a silver Jimmy Choo strappy sandals) showing off her legs in her short silk outfit to stunning effect. Who were those we saw around? Quite a few, Eyo Effiong, Femi Akande, Eku Edewor, Azuka Ogujuiba, Olisa Adibua, Dolapo Oni, Linda Ikeji, Noble Igwe, Jumai & Aisha Shaba, Franka Chiedu, Waje, Latasha Ngwube, Ify Ejikeme, Efe Tommy, Uti Nwachukwu, Banky W, DJ Spinall, Toju Foyeh , Akin Babs-Familusi, Azuh Arinze, Biodun Kupoluyi, Sesan Adeniyi & Toolz Oniru just to mention a few. Illrhymz was the day's MC, the dapper dude looked very on point.
Event itself was handled by No Suprises, where Funmi Okigbo is the Numero Uno. Cocktail started at about 3pm before the event proper began about an hour plus later. Support was given by Pepsi who had renewed Tiwa's ambassadorial contracts for another 2 years. And Bailey's Irish Cream was served for all to enjoy! The album aptly titled ''Once Upon A Time'' would be dropping on June 14, 2013.

Today Sunday, May 26, 2013 is the d-day. By say 3 pm, friends, colleagues and the media would be converging at one of the best boutique hotels in Nigeria, the Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos reportedly owned by the Danjuma (General Theophilus Danjuma to be more precise) for the listening party of one of Nigeria's most gifted songbirds in the person of Tiwaonibaje Savage, better known as Tiwa Savage. After many months of trying to put together a body of work that should be commendable and award winning, the highly anticipated album is now finally ready. The detectably sonorous one and her management company headed by her fiance -Teebillz & her record company- Mavin Records, where Don Jazzy is the Capo di tutti Capi, are finally hosting many to her album listening gig. That Tiwa is blessed musically is stating the obvious, this is the first ever album the songbird would be putting out, though she's had many years experience in the music industry. From her days in the UK, then to the US, where she collaborated with some of the best in the industry through her song-writing skills & also as a back-up singer, it's been a fun ride. It wasn't until she came back to Nigeria and the release of a couple of singles, that people really took notice. Since then it's been a glorious upward swing for the humble one. So today is the day, that many would feel the power of this blessed one in a full circle, as we would all gather to be be mesmerized by her songs. The highly anticipated debut album is titled ''Once upon a time''.
Whoever Teebillz, the fiance of Tiwa Savage believes are his enemies must really be getting to him oooo. Or how would one explain this picture & tag of him? The hunk recently posted a picture of himself on instagram in the toilet of their room at the Burj-Al-Arab dropping 'shit' and the tagged the picture ''Shitting on Haters in Burj''. Even while enjoying the trappings of the only 7-stars hotel in the world, at the back of his mind were still the so called haters. Shit more brov!!! As there would always be haters. That's how life is.
Now you know we don't joke. TeeBillz(TeeJay Balogun) at Tiwa Savage's birthday last night proposed to his heartthrob of many years, and the gorgeous and sonorously blessed one agreed without flinching. It was the perfect opportunity for the love-birds in front of their own. Tj went on his knees in front the very surprised crowd and equally surprised Tiwa and popped the question, and the gobsmacked Tiwa went on her knees hugging the love of her life in acceptance. Quite romantic. Now its no more speculation. It's a matter of fact. Remember we were the first to tell you about what was obvious to those who knew it was on, some people who don't work hard had published after our write-up that nothing was going on and we only laughed. Now the best possible birthday present has been delivered. So please, please, please when is the D-Date for the whole thingy-thingy? They shouldn't do a private event oooooo. Could it have happened, without anyone having any inkling about it? That's the much expected nuptial, we doubt that? But what if? Could they have done the deed very quietly leaving everyone to start wondering what's up? Was the Dubai trip, to the Burj-Al-Arab hotel the coded honeymoon? Questions! Questions!! Questions!!! Anyhow it might have happened, there is nothing definitely hidden under the sun. Whatever could have happened, we would soon know for sure. We can tell you for free and categorically as a matter of fact, that we know that Tiwa & TeeBillz are an item. If for any reason whatsoever, they both don't want to announce their status yet, there might be a reason for it. And for whatever reason(s) that's left to the lovers.
It is Tiwa Savage's birthday today. The sonorously blessed one, has added another year today Tuesday, February 5, 2013, and on TJ or TeeBillz BlackBerry, the very short message for Tiwa was ''happy birthday Mrs Billz''.
