It is set to be a double-pronged event, the Black Mask Ball & the Unveiling of the Y! Magazine 2.0.
Details have now been unveiled for Y! Magazine’s Annual Black Ball. An
end-of-the-year celebration for the cool set, the first edition will
hold on Sunday, 16 December, 2012 at the Crystal Ballroom of the
Landmark Events Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
“Y! Magazine has kept its promise as a cultural connoisseur –
presenting the best and the finest of Nigerian entertainment, lifestyle
and issues,” said its managing editor, Adebola Williams. “What this
event does is celebrate another year for young trendsetters – great
wine, fine dining, the best company delivered with the sophistication of
the Y! brand. We are grateful to BlackBerry, continuing its tradition of
driving connectivity and networking, for presenting this first edition.”
The event is hosted by rapper MI Abaga and the 3 Live Chicks including
Tosyn Bucknor and Oreka Godis. Dress code is Black with Masks, with the
organisers presenting guests with masks at the venue. The black carpet
is hosted by rave fashion TV show, GlamSquad led by Style editor;
Latasha Ngwube. The guest list is to be unveiled to the public on
www.ynaija.com , Bellanaija.com and www.360nobs.com, 12 December.
In addition to all of this, the brand new, re-modeled Y! Magazine will
be presented to the public – with a first-of-its kind cover identity as
well as content re-energized for its audience. Each of the selected 300
guests will receive the very first edition of the auto-graphed
magazines. Also to be unveiled with the magazine is the Annual Y! Best
Dressed List – which will profile the 20 young celebrities who define
the style and look of a generation.
“It’s a ball! So how about some end-of-year games?” Williams teases.
“We are letting our hair down and getting a little playful. The
excitement doesn't end when you receive the gorgeous masks at the venue.
That’s just the beginning of an evening that will be a delightful
experience.”
The timeless Cinderella fairytale will also come alive on the evening.
Charming singer Praiz searching for his Cinderella, with the perfect
silver shoes in hand - and the lucky lady will be serenaded with a love
song. A beautiful lady will also search for her Prince Charming, Royal
Sapphire ring in hand. In addition, the best dressed of the night will
be unveiled as the King and Queen of the Black Ball. The former
pre-selected from the Black Carpet by style heads Ohimai Atafo and Noble
Igwe, and the latter selected by The GlamSquad Team.
Premium BlackBerry phones will be given to winners and guests amongst
other Christmas gifts.
