Top international and award winning men's bible-GQ UK, had the 2011 edition of its MEN OF THE YEAR awards lastnite and like always, it was a fabulous one, with many of the invited international celebrities and super stars dressed to the nines. Our very own UK based musician-Tinie Tempah was also celebrated, as he won the best solo artist award, he was amongst the celebrated few who were declared winners on the night. The winners list is as follows-

ELDEE,BANKY W & MI IN FRANCE

The trio of fabulously talented artists-Eldee d don, Bankole Wellington aka Banky W and the Most Impressive, Most Incredible Lyricist in Nigeria as at today MI, as we write are jollificating and having the best of times in France, courtesy of the highest selling brandy brand in the world-Hennessy. The trio left the shores of Lagos, Nigeria about 2 days ago to visit the Land renowned for its Wines, Brandies and Champagne and in their entourage was the very delectable communications Manager of the company that has the brandy franchise in Nigeria-Miss Tokini Peterside, we hear the guys would be visiting the famous Cognac town, where the beautiful vineyards from where the vines used in the production of the various liquor are planted and after their tour of the vine yards, where most probably they would be shown the whole process of making the famous liquor- sometimes called Liquid gold, they would then go to Paris to enjoy the fun the capital has to offer.

 Interestingly, we hear that Nigeria is in the top 10 worldwide in the consumption of the Hennessey brandy brand and most probably should be in the top 5 by sometimes next year.

Eldee, Banky W and MI are expected back in the country this weekend, as it’s just a whistle stop visit to France. And we hope you have heard the new Hennessey artistry jam done by quartet of Eldee, Banky W, Tiwa Savage and Jessy Jegz, it’s a fantastic jam, far better than the last one.

JY REJOINS FENERBAHCE!!!!

Captain fantastic, the goal scoring Captain of the Nigerian Senior National team-Joseph Yobo finally signed today, to stay another season on Loan with the Turkish Liga current Champion-Fenerbahce,after what had seemed like another unhappy season at Liverpool, where JY plays for Everton FC in the English Premiership League.  Last season, Joseph for the 1st time won a very significant League championship with Fenerbahce where he had also been on loan, many had expected that the loan deal would have become a full transfer to the Turkish champion without any stress, but JY parent club-Everton seemed to have an agenda all their own, asking for an amount that the Turkish club did not agree to, but while negotiations were ongoing, another dilemma came up, with the match fixing allegations.

One hopes the whole match fixing imbroglio would soon be sorted out, so that Joe could be seen, showing his class at the next UEFA Champions League 2011/2012. According to Joe-
"I'm delighted everything is resolved, it's been a frustrating three months to be honest," he said.

"A little hitch here and there but finally I have rejoined a club where I found relative calm, happiness and excitement last season.

"I am happy with the decision that I have taken, it is normal for a player to seek regular playing time and I know Fenerbahce guarantee that."

Waoh!!!!!. Mrs. Carter clocked 30 today, the gorgeous Singer,Songwriter,Actress, Producer, Entrepreneur, Award-winner extraordinaire,Dancer,Icon and mother to be, born Beyonce Giselle Knowles on September 4,1981 is a year older today. Its been an extraordinary year for her, and its so unbelievable that she's only just hitting 30, a former part of that extra-ordinary trio that used to be known as Destiny's Child, before going solo, her first body of work-DANGEROUSLY IN LOVE, which was released in 2003 sold 11 Million copies, her 2nd album-B'Day which was released 3 years after the the 1st one went Triple Platinum,her 3rd album-I am....Sasha Fierce which was released 2 years after in 2008, won for her 6 Grammies, the most won on a night by a Female artist, her 4th album 4 was only just recently released and immediately was the No 1 album on Billboard 200.

YAKUBU AIYEGBENI ON A RESCUE MISSION

After what seemed a downgrade, ex-Super Eagles regular striker-Yakubu Aiyegbeni who seems not to have been forgiven since his unbelievable miss against South Korea at the last World Cup in South Africa-2010, seems to be back on a resurgence mission, after the World cup things went from bad to worse for the striker, has he was totally relegated to the bench by his team-Everton where at a point he was a super regular, before being deemed to be surplus to requirement and was loaned to a division one team-Leicester City, where he excelled scoring 11 goals from 20 games played, that's a goal every other game, he returned to Everton this season where he had played a total of 82 games scoring 25 times, the same number of goals he scored for Portsmouth but for lesser appearance-73 games, but he eventually signed for another Premiership team-Blackburn Rovers for an undisclosed fees for 3 years, and he is already assuring his team, that they would not be relegated at the end of the season

After trying everything possible to induce giving birth, one of the methods including sex, lead singer of the former Spice Girls-Mel B finally had her prayers answered at about 5 AM about 2 days ago, when she was rushed to the famous Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, U.S.A, where she delivered her 3rd child, a bouncing baby girl, but the 1st between her and her husband-Stephen Belafonte. She's had 2 previously- Phoenix Chi-12,Angel-4, which she had after her relationship with very famous funny man-Eddie Murphy, their relationship later ended in a fiasco, with the Comedian 1st denying paternity of the girl, till a DNA test changed his mind. Mother and Child are said to be in perfect condition.

VENUS WILLIAMS DIAGONOSED WITH SJOGREN'S SYDROME

Former Grand-slam champion Venus Williams has withdrawn from the 2011 US Open Tennis Championship, and the reason is because she was diagnosed with a new auto-immune disease known as Sjogren's syndrome, even after winning her 1st match. In her statement today, she said-
           
''I have been recently diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome, an autoimmune disease which is an ongoing medical condition that affects my energy level and causes fatigue and joint pain.''
''I enjoyed playing my first match here and wish I could continue but right now I am unable to. 'I am thankful I finally have a diagnosis and am now focused on getting better and returning to the court soon.''
"'I'm really disappointed to have to withdraw from this year's US Open.''

Sad news, but we hope she gets better and defeats the disease.
