All roads leads this weekend, Sunday, July 8, 2012, to 44, Bode Thomas Road, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria. When Nigeria’s King of Hair-Styling- the extra-ordinarily blessed & gifted Ugochukwu Igbokwe would throw open the doors of his new branch- The Make Me Beauty Place, which is just a walk away from the old building.

The edifice, a whole house, would house a one of its kind Hair/Beauty Mart downstairs and unarguably the best Hair Salon in Lagos as at yet barring none, upstairs. 

Getting to this point for Ugochukwu was not easy at all, he bought a building that had to be remodeled and it had to be rebuilt to particular standards, the award winning Hair-stylist was not going to compromise on at all.  The place was to have opened several months ago, but due to escalating cost he had to re-strategize and still meet up with his plans.

Now the unbelievably gorgeous place is finished and come this Sunday, it would be declared open by none other than the First Lady of Lagos- Dame Abimbola Fashola, wife of the Executive Governor of Lagos State.

Let’s just give a brief description of the place. Downstairs like we already said is the beauty supply store, that stocks the best brands of hair from the very affordable to the best brands you can dream about, not just hair extensions, also every other thing like creams, gels etc that feeds the hair.  Apart from the hair products and extensions, they would also stock a few brands of beauty products; the idea is to have a total beauty palace.

Upstairs is where many would be totally mesmerized, you climb the stairs and you are immediately swept off your feet by the beautiful and spacious ambience, you are welcomed by a mini water-fall, then the sound-proofed glass opens for you to be welcomed by the receptionist, immediately before your eyes is a Super-Exclusive place, it’s a private enclosure for members only, next to it is the fantastic nail room, by the side are the cubicles, that has been tagged the work stations, there are 4 of the work stations, that takes 6 people at a go, opposite a part of the work station is the Hair Wash area, where 5 people can wash their hair simultaneously, you move from this area and you enter through a door always kept shut into the ‘’Exclusive Area’’, that section is another story entirely.  It’s like leaving the economy part of a plane to enter the First Class section; you enter a world of ultimate pampering. You need to visit to see what’s on ground; comfort seems to be the watchword.

For the opening you can expect to see some of Nollywood’s powerhouses converging, the likes of Genevieve Nnaji, Rita Dominic, Kate Henshaw-Nuttal, Ini Edo, Uche Jombo-Rodriguez, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Chidi Mokeme, Mike Ezuruonye , Chioma Chukwuka, other celebs like Julius Agwu, Omawunmi Megbele, Gideon Okeke, Damilola Adegbite, Jackie Appaiah and many others are also expected to grace the opening.

SARKODIE AND WIZKID SHARE HONOURS AT BET AWARDS ALONGSIDE BEYONCE, JAY-Z & KANYE WEST

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie and Nigeria’sWizkid shone at the BET Awards12in Los Angeles on Sunday night.  The pair shared the prize for Best International Act (Africa)at the glittering awards ceremony, which recognizes the triumphs and successes of artists, entertainers, and athletes in 20 different categories.

Sarkodie and Wizkid beat competitors Ice Prince (Nigeria), Camp Mulla (Kenya), Mokobe (Mali) and Lira(South Africa) at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, to take home the prestigious “shooting star” trophy, won last year by Nigerian superstars 2Face and D’Banj.

The big winners of the evening included Kanye West,Jay-Z, Beyoncé and Chris Brownwho each took home two awards.  While Jay-Z beat his missus in the Best Video category, Beyoncé did take home the trophy for Best Female and Video Director of the Year (together with Alan Ferguson).  Nicki Minaj won Best Female Hip Hop Artist for the third year in a row.

Tee A has announced the kick off of a new season of his hugely successful TV show Tymeout With Tee A.
The comedian-entrepreneur, who combines his busy career as a compere and hospitality executive with producing and presenting the syndicated show, says fans all over the continent and beyond are in for a helluva time.
Shot for several weeks in April, the new season of TOWTA will feature star appearances from big names like Onyeka Onwenu, 2face Idibia, Eku Edewor, Samklef, TWO, and many more.
Regular fan favourites 'MC Abbey' and 'Madam Princess' also return on this spanking new season with fun, daring sketches that will move audiences to 'laugh and lose control' according to Tee A.
TymeOut with Tee A is a variety comedy show that broadcasts on several TV networks in Nigeria, Ghana, England, Kenya and parts of the US.

BLOKE ON THE BLOCK-3. D'PRINCE IS IN THE BUILDING

We are excited to feature this hunk as our Bloke on the Block. He needs no special introduction. He is none other than D'Prince, that's the former Mo'Hits now Mavin signee. The young handsome dude is Don Jazzy's younger sibling. While his brother is the overall Generalismo at Mavin Records, where other main sign-ons are Wande Coal, Dr. Sid, Tiwa Savage. D' Prince seems to be the one being packaged to take over the role D Banj used to play at the now dead Mo'Hits Records.

One just has this feeling that the Chop Banana jam was written for D Banj, it's the kind of jam; he would have rocked masterfully, like bread & butter. But that's not taking anything away from the young D'Prince who now has the world right before him, one man's misfortune they say, is another man's blessing. Though, he is yet to release a full body of works all of his own, but he has enjoyed fame from the many singles he has released that have gone on to become hits. The Chop Banana jam is already receiving loads of airplay and gradually becoming an anthem of a sort. 

One other thing that the tall, handsome and well-mannered dude also has going for him, is his buff body, its obvious he takes very good care of it, just check out the emerging 6-packs and the well-toned arms littered with a few tattoos. 

His body unlike some men's own, is not overly sculpted, we believe many ladies would love D' Prince to be their Knight in Shining Armour riding on a white horse, ready to save them from whatsoever.

At the weekend, the ever evolving and hardworking lady launched her new project-The Unveil MUP to very resounding applauds at the De Renaissance Hotel, Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja, Lagos.  MUP is the shortened form for Make Up Products, so by that it meant she launched her own range of Make-up Products.

The launch was a very beautiful event, with over a hundred guests in attendance, Yvonne ‘Vixen’ Ekwerre was the day’s compere and she was looking gorgeous as ever, reveling her role as a master compere, she introduced all that came with much aplomb! And also got the guests revved up for the colourful product launch.

The MD/CEO of the Company Bunmi Oyeniyi looking as gorgeous as ever in a long beautiful Orange dress that accentuated her delightsome curves to high heavens, spoke on why she decided to launch her own range of make-up products.  - It was because she felt there was a gap in the market to fill, especially because most of the brands/products brought into Nigeria were unsuitable for the black skin. Dateline-Lagos, Nigeria. June 23, 2012. It was tagged Cf 20 Style Night. Complete Magazine is arguably one of the best selling and most popular lifestyle magazines in Nigeria, and the celebration was for her 20^th edition and 2^nd year of her existence.

The venue of the top class shindig was Civic Center, on Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos, across the 1004 Estate. Truth be told, it was a very well put together party. The invite had stated very clearly what the dress code should be, Black Tie outfit or glamorous, but like its typical of Nigerians never one to conform to instructions, many did their best to look outstandingly gorgeous, while some and many of them known people who should have known best were so flagrant in their disregard for the dress code, we love Nigerians own interpretations of what they think is Black-tie and glam, some of those interpretations were totally absurd. We saw a supposedly dapper dude wearing a too tight, 4-buttoned (gold buttons at that) Brown suit, which was just one out of the many absurd collections. But that didn’t in anyway taint the night.

Everyone who came, attested to the fact that it was very well attended and also that many tried their best to look great. We saw the now super trim Ramsay Noauh in his white tuxedo, looking quite dapper; we saw Ghanaian hearthrobs Van Vicker and Nadia Buari, though both looking cool, their dress sense is whack!

We saw Waje in her hot pink outfit, so also Annie Macaulay Idibia Tuface’s wife, Tonto Dikeh was also in attendance in that gold outfit with the double slit at the front, she’s lost so much weight, she came in with her stylist Toyin Lawani, Ohimai Atafo, the designer came in wearing plaid trousers and on top was his white jacket, looking very different. Eunice Efole, Tinsel’s Damilola Adegbite and ex- Miss Nigeria Ene Maya Lawani all wore beautiful black ensembles. Young Designer Ugonna Omeruo of the House of Nwocha, whose dress Damilola wore, came in wearing an all white outfit, Yvonne 'Vixen' Ekwerre came in wearing a stunner, that got many talking . There were so many guests in attendance, that it is impossible to mention them all.  The First Lady of Lagos State- Dame Abimbola Fashola, was the Special Guest of Honor at the beautiful event.

We all know who Genevieve Nnaji is, many have come to call her Africa's own Julia Roberts, she's probably the most visible or best recognized Nollywood actress, who is gradually becoming the ''Queen of endorsement in Nigeria. Her deal with Coscharis Nigeria Limited, the sole franchise owners of the Range Rover SUV's in Nigeria in recent times is quite notable.

Ojy Okpe is the gorgeous top Nigerian, International model, who might be heading towards retirement from the catwalks soon; we hear that she's getting set to take over the movie world soon, both in Nigeria and internationally. Her Third Mainland Productions Company is getting set to launch her into the stratosphere of moviedom via production. She first came to our consciousness a few years ago, when at 17, she competed at the now comatose Face of Africa competition, where she did very well, reaching the finals. Ojy's involvement in some classic Hollywood movies- The Devil Wears Prada, Spider Man 3 and Confessions of a Shopaholic helped stirred her interest in movie making.

The third personality is none other than the delightfully gorgeous Eku Edewor, who we used to know a few years ago as Georgina Thorley. The young fashionista, who we believe is a fashion icon in the making, is a Presenter with Studio 53 Extra. She is also a part time model, who has graced the catwalk for some very well known Nigerian fashion brand. She and Uti Nwachukwu are even the face of Martini Rose, a campaign that is presently enjoying major airplay in the country right now.

Yes we all know this, so what's new? What are the trio involved in that's of major significance? You all don't need to worry, just watch this space and we would unveil it all to you soon. The much, we can reveal for now is that it's a big project. Is it a movie or something to do with fashion?

Remember Kendall got a $90,000 dollars, which is 56,000 Pounds Range Rover for her 16th birthday a year ago. So what's a closet filled with designer stuffs compared to that? 


If you have it, then spend it. Elder sister Kim bought a mind-blowing Lamborghini Aventador worth several hundred thousands of Dollars for her superstar beau Kanye West recently for his birthday.
