Just like last year, the second edition of Love Like A Movie will remain in the minds of many as the biggest and most innovative concerts of our time.

The event, which is put together by King of R&B, Darey Art Alade held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Eko Hotel & Suites Oceanview Grounds. The jaw dropping show which featured International music star, Kelly Rowland left everyone spell bound with some of the most epic theatric displays ever witnessed in Nigeria.

With performances from former Destiny’s child member, Kelly Rowland, guests could not help but scream for more as they chanted Kelly’s name after she performed hit songs off the Destiny’s Child platinum tracks like Motivation, Bump Like This, Survivor, Jumpin, Independent woman among many other monster tracks.

Darey Art Alade was not left out in the fun as he opened the show coming down from the sky in a disco cube. Also later performing hit songs like Special Fever, Lady in Red, Just Like A Movie and other tracks, guests marveled at the unforgettable scenery that followed every performance for the night.

“I’m so grateful to everyone who came out for Love Like A Movie 2. I’m overwhelmed by the love and support my team and I have received so far and we cannot wait to blow your minds next season!” Darey said after the show.

Other big performers for the night include Soul Muzik signees, Mo Eazy and Zaina who showed great talent and energy as they premiered their new tracks, Sarewagba and Raggabomi.

With other pulsating performers from Waje, Tiwa Savage, Eva, Muna, Timi Dakolo, JJC, ariel dancers among others as well as multi concept costumes and a 250 feet crane, guests went home full of life and in full anticipation for Love Like A Movie 3.

 I met Dare once at a highbrow hotel tucked inside Ikoyi one night. I was trying to sell a project that had to do with his home state- Kogi. Looking as handsome as ever, he walked in listened to me very patiently and gave me his thoughts. Although I did not get what I wanted from him, I left the place proud of the man he had become.

Dare caught my interest from his radio days simply because of who he is. I grew up on his father. Let me confess my soft spot for Jazz and Classical music, hence my interest in Art Modupelola Alade. I used to sneak in my youth to his dad's club in Yaba, although I could not enter, the mere fact that I could stand in front of the place was enough for me.

So when I first listened to Dare it was a dream come true for me. I supported him in the South African reality programme and cried when he did not come tops. I like his voice, the deep baritone and the ranges he reaches and also his energy and zest for life.

His collaborations with Tuface, the playfulness of the video, his collaborations with Flavour and the video on Broad Street are all simply the work of a genius.

But I sensed a confusion and I told his very beautiful wife when I met her. Dare wants to bestride two worlds. The street hip hop world of  Tuface and D banj and the more serious well composed Jazz world of his father. This seeming confusion has made him an average artiste and has limited his full growth as a mature artiste. I sense his youthfulness has a lot to do with this. He dresses like the modern day rapper, but carries the voice of the legendary Italian baritone, Luciano Pavarotti. His albums and songs have something for both class of listeners and that limits loyalty.

Africa's King of R&B, Darey Art Alade blew the minds of many Nigerians with the special love concert which held on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the Convention Centre of the Eko Hotel and Suites. The concert which had as hosts- Darey and Kim Kardashian featured performances from duets & performances by the King himself, his royal music majesty 2Face Idibia, the incredible voice known to all as Waje, the ever capable Mr. Banky W, the very original Ice Prince, Mo'Eazy, Zaina amongst others. 

Many of the guests came wearing the acclaimed colour of love-Red. Top fashionista, Nkiru Anumudu had on a beautiful black outfit that was emblazoned all over with the love sign. We totally love the subdued but very classic look. Waje has never looked better, we love the new slim look. Red fits Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi to a t, she's fierce. You heard the rumours yesterday. Now we can confirm it’s true – Kim Kardashian is coming to Nigeria for the first time, thanks to R&B King Darey.

The award-winning singer-songwriter confirmed this morning, that Kim will join him for the big-budget valentine concert holding at Eko Hotels on Sunday February 17.

Kim Kardashian is one of the highest-earning reality TV stars in the world, and the star of Keeping up with the Kardashians on E!, along with sisters Khloe, Kendal and Kourtney, and mother Kris Jenner. She’s also Kanye West’s girlfriend – who knows he might be coming with her?

Love… Like A Movie is a theatrical concert featuring musicians from here and abroad, including 2face Idibia, Flavour, Ice Prince, Jozi, 9ice and Darey himself.

There’s also a major Cirque Du Sol dance company from Italy and a sand-artiste that’ll interpret all the music performances live.

We’ve been told that the concert, which is partly sponsored by First Bank, Fayrouz, LIRS and Soul Muzik, is gulping about N300m. Perfect way to spend the valentine!

Darey signs US-returnee Zaina to Soul Muzik + Listen to her debut singles!

Lagos||Nigeria Soul Muzik has announced the signing of singer-songwriter Zaina to the label.

Co-founder Darey who made this known in Lagos, today, says Zaina, who recently moved back home from Atlanta, 'is a supremely talented singer, writer and performer who has worked with some of the best brains here and abroad; a fierce entertainer who wants to make music fans happy'.

Soul Muzik, also home to Darey and Mo Eazy, joins other labels like Chocolate City, Mavin Records and EME who have signed female artistes in recent times.
