This is the 3rd edition of what has been tagged the African Oscars- NAFCA which is the acronym for Nollywood & African Film Critics' Awards 2013 is set to be the most keenly contested edition of the awards till date. Set for September in Washington DC in the United States of America. The organisers are promising it would be the biggest they have done so far as they are expecting over 200 stars, celebrities etc to grace the event. Below are the nominees and their different categories contesting for the 'African Oscars' this year-2013.  Check them out. 


Upcoming actress- Beverly Naya is set for major contest with some of her more well established colleagues in some categories. It's Genevieve Nnaji vs. Beverly Naya in the 'Best actress in leading role category, where both would contest with Jackie Appiah, Iretiola Doyle & Mbufung Seikeh. While in the ' Best actress in supporting role, it's Beverly Naya vs. Ini Edo, Monalisa Chinda, Patience Ozokwor & Kalsume Sinare. The young actress who only relocated back to Nigeria about 2 years ago got 2 nominations, just like Monalisa Chinda & Jackie Appiah. While a film she acted in Alan Poza got 6 nominations.

SPRING WEDDING LIKELY FOR SHOLA OJORA & KEMI

SHOLA OJORA

All things being equal this year-2013 is the year of choice for Lanre Ojora's first son Shola Ojora. From the little snippets we have gotten from a little bird in the air who should know, there's the likelihood it's going to be a 'Spring' wedding, by that it should be a date between March 21 to June 21, 2013. Some are expecting it to be a destination wedding.

According to our whispering bird, if the 'groom's momma to be' gets her way, it's most likely going to be a Lagos 'owambe' society wedding. But from the gist we are hearing, with the bride to be being very publicity shy, she would prefer to have her day abroad, and the likely choice would be at her domain, Washington D.C, USA. Shola and his fiancee, Kemi have been dating for quite a while now albeit quietly. 

So for them to finally pick a date this year is already a cause for excitement for the couple's friends. We even hear that Shola 40,  has told a few close friends that this is his year, so barring any unforeseen circumstances, there could be a society wedding between the Ojora's and the Abayomi's in the making. 

But that's not all the gist, another bird who also should be in the know, whispered into our hears that at a point, Shola had considered having a  very quiet registry wedding to his jewel of inestimable value without much aplomb, whether he has now done that or not most don't know.

But like it is with a goldfish, that has no hiding place, whatever it is has happened or is set to happen, all that is hidden would soon be revealed and you all can bet that we would be on top of it, to bring you the correct situation of things.  Except the couple move out to the moon.
