ADAMS OSHIOMHOLE - A MAN AFTER OUT HEART

ADAMS OSHIOMHOLE

There are not many out of the 36 States Governors who has the intellectual capacity of the Edo State Governor- Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole. When we say ''intellectual capacity'' we are not necessarily speaking about book knowledge. Many have gone to school and come out with much paper degrees, so much so that they want to add all the many acronyms and titles to their names to show how much they have achieved. With all of these degrees and things articulating themselves properly and in such a manner that would impress and make sense to those who would hear them is a major problem. That is one area, that the Edo State Comrade Governor has excelled and as done so better than most. From his days as the head honcho at the Labour Union, he has always had that mesmeric appeal and a way with words.

That he has the blessings of articulation has only added to the fact that he is an action Governor, who has been a major blessing to his people. We just recently came across one of his speeches and just thought to reproduce it and show the heart of the great man.

Hear him,  "When I was sworn in, I did say that for us to make changes in Edo state, we will need not only to step on toes but we may have to chop off some toes, this is not the easiest task about people, I know 95% of them voted for me.

But again, why did you vote for me? Is it not to provide a credible leadership that will secure the future of this state?

There is a saying that a politician with a narrow mind thinks of the next election, but a statesman thinks of the next generation. I think that it is occasions like this that defines our character, whether we are just mere opportunists in power or we seek office because we believe that we need to do some things for Nigeria to change?"

Thought provoking we think!!!

REVEREND (DR) CHRIS OYAKHILOME OF BLW DONATES 650 CAPACITY AUDITORIUM TO HIS ALMA MATER

The much loved and very dapper founder of the Believers Love World Ministries aka Christ Embassy, Reverend Dr. Chris Oyakhilome, demonstrated uncommon love recently, which is one of the pillars of his ministry, in fact it was a couple of days ago, when he put his money where his mouth is by donating a multimillion Naira valued, 650 capacity auditorium to his Alma mater, the former Bendel State University (Bensu), Ekpoma, now known to all as Edo State University, Ekpoma, Edo State.

Several years back, the Reverend gentleman who bestrode the Ekpoma campus like a colossus, with his then growing christian fellowship BLW latter church ministry, the shape of which began in the school. He was then a student of the school of Architecture at the institution.

Now several years after leaving and becoming one of the biggest Pastors in the country; in terms of congregation-they have branches all over Nigeria and outside, in terms of influence- numbers translates to influence, in terms of reach-his television ministry is one of the best in the world reaching millions, and also in terms of resources (Forbes Magazine rates him as one of the 5 richest pastors or men of God from Nigeria and most likely by extension-Africa (he is said to be worth at least $50 million Dollars ), the handsome 50 year old man of God, known to have a cult like followership, has shown by example what being socially responsible is all about.

The keys to the modern hall was given to the hardworking, Comrade Governor of the State of Edo, in the person of the former Labour boss, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, who officially declared the hall opened. Being the Governor of the state where the school is located in and also the Visitor to the institution, the Governor declared opened the hall to the joy of all. Apart from the auditorium that was given, Pastor Chris like he is more popular called also donated a 100KVA Generator to the school.

According to Pastor Chris at the event ''This is to serve as a catalyst for others to join hands in developing the Country''. He went on further ''The problem is not the management of our natural resources, but managing the potential locked up in the minds of our teeming youths, whose education cannot be separated from the aspirations of the country''.

Not done with his donations, he also made a promise to provide for all the students resident on the school campus, a solar powered lantern. This are all well thought out gifts to the institution. Way to go Pastor Chris, we hope all and sundry would see this kind gesture and follow suit.

Reacting to the what the Reverend gentleman did & promised to still do, the acting Vice- Chancellor of the school, Prof. Cordelia Agbebaku said ''It was the 1st time an individual would be making such a contribution to the institution.

NAMA (FG) VS. ADAMS OSHIOMHOLE- WHAT'S GOING ON?

The Nigerian Aviation Management Agency (NAMA), yesterday, recalled and grounded an airborne OAS Helicopter ferrying Governor Adams Oshiomhole to Awka, Anambra State for the funeral service of the late Mrs. Colette Obi, wife of Senator Ben Obi, Special Adviser, Political Matters to the President.

Pilot of the helicopter, Captain James Manahash, a Filipino, said "I was surprised that I was recalled after taking-off from Government House because I had communicated with the control tower on radio.

"We were already airborne when we got the call to return to the airport and was even threatened that failure to do so would lead to complete grounding of the aircraft. The governor prevailed on me to return and listen to them.

"When we got back to the airport, I was told to pay landing and aerodrome fees which ordinary we could pay later because we were already airborne.

"Even after completion of the process of payment within 10 minutes, we were still delayed for one hour fifteen minutes. The Governor left in anger after that.

"I am surprised by this development because this is not the first time I would be coming to Benin to fly the governor.

"I was even threatened, after payment, that the aircraft will be grounded completely if I argued with them. I have flown for 35 years, seven of which I spent in Nigeria and this is the first time I am encountering a situation like this. I do not know what problem they have with the governor.”

Managing Director of the OAS Helicopters, Mr Everest Nnaji, who was contacted, expressed shock over the incident, saying that “I am still making calls to find out exactly why they did not allow the pilot fly the helicopter conveying the governor to Anambra state. I am really angry, I don’t know why they did that and that is why I am still trying to make contact because we have no problems with NAMA.

OSHIOMHOLE TAKES THE CAKE, SLAM DUNKS THE OPPOSITION

Wow!!! It is official; Governor Adams Oshiomhole is in for another 4 years. Everyone is eagerly waiting to hear what the paperweight opposition would claim made them lose the battle. But however it is, no matter what they try to do now, we don't think the supposed heavyweight opposition can do anything anymore. Except like many have brought to our attention that if care is not taken a magic show could still happen. From the little we have seen and heard, that kind of magic might be suicidal.

One major thing the election has made clear to all and sundry is that the will of the people cannot be suppressed, even if they try, the people could erupt and demand for a change. No matter who the Goliaths are. So where are all the godfathers? We had thought that with the so-called 2 Billion they were supposedly given and the Federal might they would have done far better than they did. It's so obvious now that they are paperweights, just pretending to have influence. We just hope in the name of God, that this signifies that paradigm shift; we have all being clamoring for.

The fake weighted people had thought they could trample on the support of the royal father, who we heard had prior to the election given his backing to the incumbent.

And the thing is, Governor Adams Oshiomhole won by a landslide, even if they multiplied their numbers by 2, they would still have lost out, even if all others in the opposition gave their votes to the PDP, they would still have lost out. This is victory for democracy and ultimately victory for the people.

Congratulations Governor Adams, we hope you would not disappoint your people.
