ANGELA SIMMONS ROCKS AT THE ARISE FASHION SHOW 2012 IN NEW YORK

Who is this top by? We are not sure yet, but the minute we know, we would let you all know. It's a gorgeous, embellished Ankara Print top. 2 designers we know who does this embellished things very well are Ere Dappa, who we hear can take close to 3 months to finish a single outfit and Lisa Folawiyo's Jewel by Lisa. We are not sure who Angela Simmons is wearing yet, but we can only say fantastic.  Angela wore the top yesterday at the Arise Presents African Icons showcase, at the MBFW Spring show in New York.

What do you guys think?

TSEMAYE BINITIE
If we are allowed to say this, we believe Africa is already offering to the world a new Calvin Klein, and that designer is Tsemaye Binitie of Nigeria. We just love the clean cut and very adaptable fashion. With the right support, the sky would be the beginning.

MAKI-OH
Truth be told we believe without any reservations whatsoever, that Maki-oh is on the road towards total world domination. There is no doubt in our mind, that she's one of the most gifted and most creative designers from any part of the world. The award winning creative genius delivered a collection that had Mojo. We love those fringes; we especially love the movement they make when the wearer is in motion. Her Spring 2013 collection is sure to be a winner with the fashion savvy.

Check it out.

GAVIN RAJAH'S SHOWCASE AT THE ARISE MAGAZINE PRESENTS AFRICAN ICONS-PART 2

Gavin's Indian heritage is quite obvious in his designs. He seems to love embellishment to a fault. One other very obvious thing is that he is also fantastically creative. His Spring 2013 collection, where the models had on crown like that of the statue of liberty, showcased impeccable cuts, glorious colours and attention grabbing delicateness. The models seemed to glide on the catwalk, like angels on parade. No wonder he was one of the lucky 5 chosen to showcase in New York.

Check out his showcase.

MBFW:ARISE MAGAZINE PRESENTS AFRICAN ICONS-NEW YORK SPRING 2013-PART 1

The Fabulous 5 chosen at the end of Arise Fashion Week, Lagos 2012 showcased at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week: Arise Magazine Presents African Icons, in New York, 2 days ago. They all showcased their Spring 2013 collection to everyone's delight. Truth be said, it was a wonderful showing by all of them. Curiously we were on the lookout to see one of the lucky models-Imade Ogbewi chosen to come to New York at the Arise Fashion Week, Lagos 2012, but we didn't see her at all. What could have happened? This would have been a very big boost for her modelling career. Any ways that didn't take away from the excitement of the showcase for us. We commend the 5 designers for putting up a glorious showcase.

TIFFANY AMBER-
No doubt this brand has matured over the years. No wonder it has become one of the sign posts of the best that could come out of Africa. There's always this fluidity and gorgeous femininity in Folake Folarin-Coker's designs. Her gorgeous outfits are always so wearable; you could take them off the catwalk and just pop them on and go. Her showcase 2 days ago, was another winner. Kudos!
