WELCOME TO THE NEW KOTOKA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ACCRA, GHANA

Ghana is one of the several countries in the West African region of Africa. A very proud nation with very rich history, culture and heritage, a country greatly blessed with very welcoming people. They do not boast for any reason as being the most powerful black nation on earth or that their economy is the number one or two or even number three in Africa. Their (total GDP ppp being $144 plus billion)(GDP nominal of $49 plus billion) & per capital of $4,982) neither are they the most populated country in Africa too, (28 plus million people) in all.

They are a nation blessed with gold and that in great abundance too, infact they are the 7th largest producer of gold and most probably now the largest producers of Cocoa in the world and not too far back, they apparently discovered crude oil and they are said to have the 5th largest reserve in Africa, something that we in Nigeria had discovered and exploited since the 60s and most probably have the largest reserve in Africa and one of the largest in the world.

One of the few things that Ghana competes very well with Nigeria on are football, jollof rice, music and hospitality. On jollof rice, the Ghanaians believe very strongly that they cook a better one, that their version or variety of the food is much better than ours and that in fact the best. As per music, truth be told the Ghanaians a super talented and have a good understanding of rhythm, especially as concerning their interpretation of their own form of highlife. In terms of hospitality, Ghana, especially Accra in the country has enjoyed much beehive of activities in the last few years and because of the development, there has been a whole lot or loads of upgrades in many areas. Their hotels likes of Kempinski, Movenpick, African Regent, Labadi Beach, Villa Monticello, Tang Palace and more are very very upscale. Infact  they are on the level of their counterparts either in Europe, Asia or even in America.

When it comes to football, they have somewhat enjoyed far more successes in the West African region amongst the countries in that axis.

The improvements in their many facets of life has not been limited to only the hotels though, it has touched many areas too, but the newest one right now that has gotten everyone applauding very vigorously and commendably too and has shown good signs of a Government intention to attract more people to their country. Tourism is the 4th largest money earner for Ghana. A country that is infact already very well known to be very welcoming of visitors, has taken it many notches up with the new KOTOKA international Airport, Terminal 3. For those who might not know Ghanaians are infact rated as the "11th most friendly nation in the world", that's in the whole universe and that's a big deal! And in Africa they are considered the Nos 1! As at 2017 they were rated as the 43rd most peaceful nation in the world!

We have always said it that how a country is perceived (for perception is very key) by first time visitors or visitors in general, the kind of impression they can form so easily without unnecessary prompting can largely be influenced by how that country's international airport is. The airport and its immediate surroundings can immediately make a discerning person form an opinion that could stick permanently and that can be hard to change afterwards!

The many pictures in this write-up for us says it all. Like already stated, the pictures are that of the new Kotoka International Airport in Accra, Ghana. You are free to deduce whatever you feel is best from what the pictures, aims to pass across. Though Ghana might somewhat not be as (RICH) financially as we are, but they seem to be getting certain things right far better than we do.

This new airport was built for a total of $250million dollars. It was built by a Turkish company in collaboration with some other companies. For a total of $400 million dollars, other airports in Ghana would be upgraded and updated to world's standards.

The groundbreaking of the new ultra modern airport was done on March 2016 and now a little over 2 years it is ready and functioning.

Africa is not backward, no no, not all. But just that certain people/elements and in the minority at best, at the helm of affairs, bent on not allowing Africa to reach her height takes us back or leaves us stagnant. We are blessed by God with the very best the world can offer, in all areas of endeavors. May we take the Bulls by the horns as we journey towards fulfilling our repressed potentials.

GHANA'S BEST AND MOST STYLISH LIGHT UP THE GLITZS AWARD 2018

The stars literally poured down in unbelievable torrents yesterday, Saturday, September 1, 2018 in Ghana! It was definitely glitz, glamour, panache overdose. Ghana's best and their guests came having their best feet forward.

The venue of the event was none other than the beautiful Movenpick Hotel in Accra, Ghana. The event itself is the annual style ritual known to all as the GlitzAfrica Award 2018.

It is one event, one showcase, one gathering that any star, celebrity worth their salts, never ever want to miss as it affords them the opportunity to play dress up and showcase their style DNA.... And so like it was expected, the stars and celebrities and guests came looking like Fire🔥💥🌟. It was obvious that they took time to plan their outfits and the stylists, make up artists and even the fashion houses and designers must have smiled or laughed heartily to their banks!

It was a 'galaxy of stars' that converged purposefully at the upscale venue and we have now come to the proper understanding of that expression-Galaxy of stars- now. As they all shine like many diamonds or precious stones all in one place at the same time. While the AMVCA 2018-the 6th edition for that matter, the biggest film and movie award show in Africa that celebrates the best in film, movies and that sector of the entertainment industry was on going magnificently in Lagos, Nigeria, at the expansive and prestigious hall of the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, Accra in Ghana was also well lit up to the sky, as the Ghanaians and their friends matched gorgeously to the venue of GlitzAfrica Awards 2018 in style too.

Our own statuesque and stylish Dr. Idia Aisien was one of the duo that lit up the stage as hosts of the event, she was well supported by the Ghanaian hunk, known to the world as Elikem the Tailor. Our master tailor and designer of nite, Ohimai Atafo was at the event too, no wonder we didn't see him at AMVCA 2018, where his label styled many, both male and female nicely.

With the way our awards are now being packaged it is so obvious now that in the next few years with good sponsorship, our awards across Africa can match any across the globe. Stylewise, the stars and celebrities are quite obviously making the efforts and they should be well commended. Kudos to Claudia Lumor, the brain behind the brand for putting together a splendid package.

More after the break.

TOP ENTERTAINERS-TEKNO, FLAVOUR, GORDONS AND BAND MEMBERS ESCAPES PLANE CRASH..

Ace comedian and entertainer was full of praise to God and asked others to help thank GOD also, as he announced how he, Flavour, Tekno, their band members & others escaped what could have ended as a plane crash (air accident) today!!!!

Full of emotions and in a voice laden with gratitude to God, the comic extraordinaire, explained how after just 8 minutes into their flight from Lagos enroute Accra, Ghana the pilot jolted them when he announced that their flight had developed fault mid air and they had to turn back to Lagos! According to him, as they were coming back to Lagos, it suddenly dawned on him that, that might be the end! But even in the dire situation, they all were hopeful and prayerful and God intervened and what could have been a sure plane crash was averted and they landed safely and were even able to make their flight back to Ghana.

So Gordons was asking that everyone, should for the love of  God help thank the Almighty on his behalf.

We are more than happy to oblige and to show immeasurable gratitude to a wonderful God, not only for Gordons, but for all the lives that were apparently saved from what could have turned into a monumental national disaster in the twinkling of an eye. Just imagine Gordons, Tekno, Flavour very impressive trio, all in the prime of their careers, so also their crew (band members) and even others on that same flight!!!

We wouldn't hear an evil report in God's nameoooooo!

THANK God for Grace and mercy!!!!!

STEPHANIE LINUS IS ON POINT IN ENTHYST OUTFIT

Star Spangled Gorgeousness by Stephanie Linus from Enthyst Fashion Klinik.

Nollywood Super Star Stephanie Linus is known to always have her style game on at all times.

She's one star that does her best to always have her best foot forward on the style stake, making sure to always follow her time honoured rules, never ever experiment.

Here at the Glitz Style Awards 2017 in Accra, Ghana over the weekend, she did her very best to stay safe, while still looking gorgeous.

Black is known to be very forgiving, as it is known to help cover and hide a multiple of sins, but still yet, black can be very stunning when well sown and well styled.

At the event, Mrs. Linus wore the gorgeous garb from Enthyst Fashion Klinik owned by the super stylish Ndidi Obioha also of Enthyst Events. The somewhat 3 piece ensemble, is actually just 2 piece, that's actually a corset dress with peplum that has a bit of white at the bust. It's a bustier style at the top, that has a jacket with puffy hands which is the in style right now, also worn on it. To say the least she killed it!

The gorgeousness of it all is that her pixie haircut, makes her look younger, and doesn't hide her beautiful neck, showing off a bit of her shoulder. She got it totally correct by not wearing any neck jewelry, which could have messed up the whole flow of things.

The cut of the dress creates the illusion of curves too, which is great.  Kudos to Stephanie on this one. #stephanielinus #enthystfashionklinik #glitzstyleawards2017 #vintage #maestromediablog #ndidiobioha #nollywoodstar

TOKE MAKINWA SHINES LIKE A MILLION STAR IN TUBO!

She's one of the most in your face and most celebrated celebrity in the country right now.

Soon we believe that Toke MAKINWA would copyright her name as a brand that might soon be attached to brands and products, that's how fast growing her brand is seemingly growing and she's smiling to the banks for it.

One other major thing she's known for is her style, though we believe that the word "style icon" is too big to be used for her now, it doesn't take away the fact that she's a "class act fashionista" and influencer. And she's sure on the path towards being a throughbred style icon of the future.

She was a guest at this year's edition of the annual "Glitz Style Awards 2017" in Accra, Ghana just yesterday and her choice of outfit- simple, classically cut, embellished floor length outfit from young designer TUBO that she styled or "garnished" with that gorgeous mink stole, totally and scrumptiously killed it. Tubo is set on ruling the world of fashion in a very short period of time. This particular garb we hear is from her 2017/2018 yet to be released officially collection.

The theme of the party was "Vintage" and Tokestar and her stylist did a fabulous job no doubt.

The gorgeous looking Toke, shone like a million stars at the event, like those revolving gorgeous disco lights. We are sure Marilyn Monroe or better still Diana Ross in her glorious heydays, inspired the garb.

Her make up was beautiful and totally on point. Only little snag was that fringe hair style. For someone of her built and height and even face structure, the illusion of height, with an up do, would have given her 110% on the style stake. She's got a beautiful neck and a gorgeous face, that this hair seems to hide, so why hide?

Even at that, she still got healthy 90plus% from us. In fact this outfit reminds us of Rihanna in something similar, that she wore to an award a while back that got everyone talking!

Kudos Tokestar!
Let your light so S.H.I.N.E!!!!
