ELITE MODEL LOOK NIGERIA UNVEILS THE 24 FINALISTS FOR THE 2017 EDITION.

This year's edition of the Aquafina sponsored annual model search known as the Elite Model Look Competition is going to be as exciting as usual, at least going by the on going preparation towards it.

The event organised annually by Elohor Elizabeth Aisien's Beth Model Management, is probably the best model search in the country bar none. This edition is in conjunction with Upfront and Personal Global Management Consultants.

The 24 lucky semi-finalist that would enter the boot camp were finally unveiled just very recently. This annual modeling contest in Nigeria has over the years become the yearly benchmark to discover new and exciting talents from Nigeria that would take he world of modeling by storm later.

The casting for this 2017 edition had taken place last month at the Eko Hotel and Suites venue on August 26, 2017. Over 1000 aspiring models had converged at the expansive venue, from where just 100 were pre-selected and their images were then forwarded to the Elite Model Management Paris, who now selected from that pool just 24 models, comprising both males and females.

These 24 are those to now go to the boot camp for 7 days, undergoing rigorous trainings etc. At the end of the boot camp, the 24 would be reduced by 4 and the remaining 20 are now the ones to compete for the ultimate prizes at the final at a later date.

The criteria that would be used for judging would be "Poise, Personality, attitude, character, natural beauty and photogenic quality".

We are all looking forward to a great competition. 

ELOHOR AISIEN DUMPS MISS NIGERIA PAGEANT

 First it was the former beauty queen now Chief, Ms. Nike Osinowo-Soleye that first dumped the organizers of the Miss Nigeria Pageant, Folio Communications owned by Fidelis Anosike. Now after just one edition of what we thought was the now revitalized beauty pageant, the person we thought was the new savior of the franchise in the person of Beth Model Agency boss, who also now owns a 1st class event's company, in the person of Elohor Aisien has now severed relationship with the same organization. 

The last edition of the beleaguered beauty contest that had been in coma for several years (a queen reigned for 6 years at one point) before it was resuscitated by Chief Nike Osinowo-Soleye, in our estimate was one of the best organized in a long while, so we had expected a long and very fruitful relationship between their new creative director in the person of Elohor Aisien and Folio Communications, but alas after just one edition of the event, the center could not hold together amicably again. 

According to our findings, the reason for Elohor's action might have been because of the shoddy treatment she got at the last edition after the sweat and blood she had put into organizing a first class event. Just imagine getting the then new hotel, Intercontinental Hotel to host the new improved pageant, getting a list of first class guests to attend and invitation cards had been sent and so much more, only for for Folio Communications, or should we say Fidelis Anosike to come up with another set of invites for his own kind of guests and those with the other invites were treated very shabbily and some not even allowed into the event. It took a major amount of patience and good resolve for the situation to be sorted out on the day of the event and for the event to go on. 

So in the event of the shabby and embarrassing treatment of that day, where she was made to look like she had no right to have invited anyone and some other little things like breach in contract etc, we believe the seed of discord had already been sown since, so Elohor apparently waited until now to cut off quietly from the running of the pageant. 

So who is the next on board to help rescue this sinking ship? We do not know yet, but we do not even think the pageant would hold this year 2014. Would this be another long season of coma? We do not know for sure. But Folio Communications might spring another surprise pretty soon. Lets wait and see!!

REGIONAL CASTING ELITE MODEL LOOK 2013

The modeling contest of the Elite network has become a worldwide renowned event. Every year, EML teams travel throughout the world in search of the top models of the future. For the 30^th consecutive year, Elite is organizing the most prestigious modeling contest in the world offering thousands of girls between 14 and 22 years old the opportunity to achieve their dream and follow in the footsteps of top models such as Cindy Crawford, Stephanie Seymour, Gisele Bundchen and Sigrid Agren.

The Nigeria Elite team will be present on June 17 at 71 Raymond Njoku off Awolowo, Ikoyi, Lagos to discover the future top models.

The Elite team is touring Nigeria with 3 castings that will take place from Friday, July 12 to Saturday, July 20 2013.

African Times Network presents MISS NIGERIA 2012: The New Era

Daily Times Nigeria and African Times Network (ATN), the franchise owner of Miss Nigeria Pageant, are proud to announce that the 38^th Annual Miss Nigeria Beauty Pageant will be held this year.

The Miss Nigeria Pageant is the premier beauty pageant in Nigeria and is a well sought after title with world-class standards. Taking part in Miss Nigeria Pageant is a life-changing experience as it is the most prestigious beauty competition in Nigeria and the oldest pageant of all time, dating back in history to 1957.

Empowering women is Miss Nigeria Pageant’s passion and opportunities arise on many different platforms within and outside Nigeria. The winner of the pageant works for the organization during her reign, undertaking special duties and attending special events pertaining to governmental and non-governmental organization projects.

As the Queen Ambassador, Miss Nigeria will portray exemplary qualities and will serve as a role model for young women around the country.

A rigorous search for potential contestants will commence in October 2012. The casting auditions will be held in Nigeria, England and America, after which the Miss Nigeria Pageant grand event will take place in December 2012.

From 2009 to 2011, Chief Mrs Adenike Oshinowo-Soloye held the position as the Creative Director of the Miss Nigeria Pageant to inject elegance and pageantry to the brand.  During her time in office she maintained an exemplary reputation for Miss Nigeria and remains an active affiliate of the pageant.

For the year 2012, ATN has assembled a brand new board of directors and a new Creative Director and team led by Beth Model Management Africa, the organisers of Elite Model Look Nigeria.

Beth Management Limited was founded in 2005 by former beauty queen (Miss Nigeria UK 2001/2002), Mrs Elohor Elizabeth Aisien.

Under the new Creative Directorship of Mrs. Elohor Elizabeth Aisien, Miss Nigeria 2012 aims to deliver a fresh and innovative direction to the pageant this year.
