KACHIKWU VS. BARU. THAT SUPPOSED FEUD MIGHT HAVE JUST BEEN "A STORM IN THE TEACUP" AFTER ALL!

Dr.Ibe Kachikwu & Dr. Maikanti Baru

Chums or buddies for life

Up until yesterday both men were supposedly at each others jugular.

Dr. Ibe Kachikwu as the supposed boss had raised an alarm that his subordinate approved contracts without due process totalling more than $25 billion dollars. Apparently Kachikwu felt he was supposed to have been in the know and was supposed to have even approved those contracts. So because he was bypassed it might have meant some hanky-panky must have ensued in the process.

In defending his honour, the GMD NNPC, Dr Maikanti Baru apparently took his boss to the cleaners brought him crashing down to earth, stating categorically that he doesn't have to get the minister's approval to do his job well, especially in certain areas.

Now after all the missiles and the atomic bombs thrown at each other, the 2 combatants that were at daggers drawn all of the weeks past, that it took the intervention of the President to calm nerves, seem to have forgotten their battle of days before and have somewhat sheathed their swords and are now best of chums!

Both were at the ongoing 23rd Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja yesterday and it was like they were best of friends without any form of issues with each other at all.

Things were so rosy, that as soon as Kachikwu came in, Baru immediately got up to greet him and both exchanged pleasantries, then Baru even stood in for Kachikwu at a point as the chairman of session till he got back and both were now co-chairman of that particular session.

So now that both are seemingly chums, buddies again, what would happen to the alarm that was raised before?
Would everything return back to business as usual?
Was the feud brought on by that "somewhat unneccesary" alarm just a "Storm in a Teacup?".

This is because if things could have just been sorted out so easily like this in the first place, why the need for the whistle blowing and all the attendant hoopla?

So those who had thought that the Dr. Ibe Kachikwu had bitten more than he could chew in the instance and were already helping him to sing the lyrics of a top hit song titled- "Going going gone", would now be disappointed that the imminent sack they had predicted wouldn't be happening again.

Eeeyah!!!!

Dr. IBE KACHIKWU VS. Dr MAIKANTI BARU. WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND

By God's grace one day in this beloved country of ours, things would go on smoothly without people only serving their own personal interests alone, but instead they would have the best interest of the collective more at heart than themselves only.

Many had heaved a major sigh of relief when the present administration came on board and had chosen the person of the caliber of Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, who as at then was probably the highest ranking Nigerian at Mobil in Africa to be in charge at that cesspool called the oil ministry, those who wanted sanity in that particular aspect of our economy even went further to be elated when the President also said he would combine his office with that of the senior oil (Petroleum) minister, but alas that expected sanity has not really come judging by accusations of fraud and counter accusations that have been flying around and have pervaded the entire atmosphere. With Diezani Allison-Madueke, the ex-minister gone, it was expected that things would have taken the shape for the best. But alas no!

A few days ago the nation was agog when a supposed private letter (message) that was supposed to have been for the President's eyes only got leaked. The leaked letter somewhat indicted the current "GMD of NNPC in the person of Dr. Maikanti Baru", accusing him of awarding $25 billion dollars of contracts without due process. The leak got everyone's attention including the senate who vowed to investigate the allegations.

Now, the NNPC GMD's bloc too have decided to fight and fight dirty they are doing. Theirs is that the hand pointing accusations at another, should also check where the remaining 4 fingers of that hand is also pointing at!

They are claiming that what Kachikwu is accusing Baru of, he also is guilty of and even more!

Until not too long ago, Dr. Kachikwu combined being the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources with being the substantive GMD of the NNPC, so the Baru bloc claims that while Kachikwu was the NNPC GMD, he doled out massive amount of money to the militants during attacks on pipelines in the Niger Delta, especially the Niger Delta Avengers.

They also claim that Dr. Kachikwu awarded multi million dollar security contracts to majorly his friends- "Tunde Ayeni, Igho Sanomi, Julius Rone, Scott Tommey, Captain Hosa Okunbo, Eyiri Emami, Timbo Ayinde, Benjamin Kuku, Greg Uanseru, Mohammed Abdul and brother Dumebi Kachukwu".

So they are claiming that if the "Petroleum Resources Minister of State" can favour his own people blatantly, how can he now be pointing accusing fingers at another over contracts. So to them, "What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander also".

TRIPLICATE OF BADLUCK/SAD LOSSES HIT THE GMD OF NNPC DR. MAIKANTI BARU

Mohammed Kawu Baru

Dr. Maikanti Baru

It is absolutely not the best of times for the Group Managing Director (GMD) of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Maikanti Baru. It's like all he holds dear, are been torn apart and taken from him one after the other. And the anguish of the losses, are most definitely too much for only one person to bear.

Imagine just one person being hit left, right and centre by the cold hands of death, all in the space of  just 2 months!!! First in the month of April of 2017, he lost his mother who resides in Misau, Bauchi State to death, while still bemoaning his fate, another sad news slipped in to jolt him again, when he lost his sister while preparing for the annual oil and gas conference known as OTC in Houston, Texas, then still not ending at that, just on Thursday, what could break any man occurred. He lost his 18 year old son, Mohammed Kawu Baru, a 1st year architecture major of the American University in Sharjah, who had collapsed and gave up the ghost, while on a school organised hiking exercise at Fujairah.

The brilliant boy has since been buried at the Sharjah Emirates Cemetery.

May all the dearly departed would make Aljanah.
