This year’s edition of the Elite Model Look Nigeria 2012, the 5th edition in the series was a winner by miles in all categories. We loved the way the whole thing, the crowd, the show, the girls and guys went. Just about everything was great, except for the fact that the event didn't start at the scheduled time. But that has become a major Nigerian thing anyway, so didn’t take away anything from the show.

Red carpet in Nigeria is now getting better and better by the day, we love all the razzmatazz we see nowadays, all the lights, cameras, people looking cool, very stylish, interviews getting done etc. Everyone now wants to be seen on the red carpet. It is cool.

ELITE MODEL LOOK NIGERIA 2012.....AND THE WINNER IS MOYINOLUWA AROWOSHOLA

Her beautiful name Moyinoluwa literally translates ''I praise the Lord'', and we can bet that she must have been praising God non-stop since last night after she was declared as the preferred one at the keenly contested Model Search competition last night. 

Though we particularly were rooting for Bukola Anthony, another of the contestants, we think that Moyinoluwa totally deserves the win. Like we had said prior to the grand-finale itself, this year's edition is one of the best in recent times. At least 5 of the girls could have carried the day, so for Moyin to have won, she should be very proud of herself. 

On the male side, though we disagree with the choice of the judges, but whether we do or not, there's nothing we can do about it. Seeing the 10 contestants live, we had thought it was a straight battle between the trio of Kimmie, Steven and Toyin, but alas! It wasn't the case. We therefore congratulate Alvin who won. It is said man proposes God disposes. 

This year's edition of the Elite Showcase was one of the best ever in every way, the guest list was great, the fashion showcase magnificent, everything went like a breeze. We must commend the organizers for a job well done. We would bring to you very soon, the whole package. Wait for it.

ELITE MODEL LOOK 2012- CASTING DATES AND OTHER INFO

International acclaimed modeling competition – Elite Model Look which takes place in over 80 different countries is back, bigger and better for its 2012 edition. The prestigious competition has tremendously accelerated the careers of many aspiring and upcoming talents to become International top models and this edition will not be different.
Elite is offering thousands of girls and boys the opportunity to achieve their dreams and walk in the footsteps of top models like Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell, Tyson Beckford, David Agbodji, Ty Ogunkoya, Cindy Crawford and Gisele Bundchen.
The relentless Elite Nigeria team will go to Calabar, Enugu, Abuja, Delta and Lagos for castings from Saturday 2nd June 2012 – Saturday 30th June 2012.

With the Elite Model Look Nigeria celebrating its 5th year anniversary, it aims to offer maximum opportunities for women and men to participate in one of the most renowned modeling contest and to maintain its reputation of being the world’s most prestigious agency.

At the end of the castings, 100 contestants will be selected to participate in the national contest that will be held in Lagos and after a rigorous screening exercise, 10 girls and 10 boys would be selected to participate in the finale on Saturday 1st September 2012.

Winners are not only selected based on their photogenic qualities, their personalities and their natural beauties but also on their potential to co-respond to current fashion trends.

The Elite Model Look Jury comprising of various individuals in the fashion and modeling industry will choose the most qualified contestants for the finale. The ultimate goal of this contest is to win a place in the World Final set to bring together different girls selected in different countries to secure a 3 Year contract with the Elite Agency.

Criteria
To take part in one of the Elite Model Look castings, applicants must be;
Female

• Between the ages of 14 and 22 years old
• Minimum height of 172cm/5’8

Male

• Between the ages of 16 and 25 years old
• Minimum height of 179cm/5’11

Instructions

1.        All applicants should come to the casting venues with two recent pictures of themselves – A head shot and a full body shot.

2.       If you are under the age of 18, a parental authorization letter is required at the casting venues.

3.       Applicants should wear as little make-up as possible and wear outfits that show their figures (Ladies – Skinny jeans or leggings and Gents – A Basic T-Shirt & Jeans).

4.       Female applicants should come to the casting venues with their natural hair. False eyelashes or coloured fingernails would not be accepted.
