HOW TRUE CAN IT BE, THAT KIKA & CHIOMA OF GOOD HAIR ARE NOT ON GOOD TERMS

Just because one member of the duo that makes up the Good Hair brand didn't do a public happy birthday wish for her partner and friend, many have allowed their over fertile minds to conjure that there might have been something amiss between the 2!

Still going on further, just because she (Kika) wasn't present at the super glam birthday party with the gorgeous theme  Hollywood Glam" that was thrown by her close friend and business partner, many even thought that, that even strongly buttressed the point further that they were having issues! But alas, what if  Kika wasn't in town, around that time?

That both are not too unnecessarily public about their friendship right now doesn't necessarily mean things have gone south! Being business partners in a thriving business actually makes it near impossible for them to be at daggers drawn, even if they are, but not for too long even if they have issues.

The 2 ultimate fashionistas of note, deserves loads of kudos for how they have built their business brand to what it is now, although there's the unconfirmed speculation which we don't actually fully subscribe to that, their Good Hair brand is actually owned or financed by the wife of one of their uncles, a chairman of  one of the biggest banks in Nigeria, even if that be so, the way they both have built the brand to become such an household name known by most who should, is quite commendable then.

Chioma Good Hair and Kika, are 2 young ladies, quite beautiful and crazy stylish at that, who have shown what the energy of youth can achieve. They saw a major opportunity in the market to sell hair which they have exploited very well and it is said to be bringing good returns for them and they are balling to the banks because of it.

So if truly there's any issue, which is actually nothing extraordinary, that's because friends, true and good friends at that can have issues at any point, what's important is that they learn from such issues and move on.

WHEN TOLA ADEGBITE'S TURFAH WAS LAUNCHED

Tola Adegbite is the other sister (younger) of Reni Folawiyo, who is the owner of Alara Concept Store and the wife of billionaire businessman and scion of the late Baba Adinni, Alhaji Wahab Iyanda Folawiyo, in the person of the gentleman par excellence, Tunde Folawiyo. Both sisters are high ranking fashionistas of note, known for always putting their best foot forward.

A couple of weeks back, Tola gave life to a dream she has always had to set up her own fashion brand/line, which she named TURFAH, from her 2nd name, which is an Arabic name given to girls and actually translates to mean "Blessings" "Good things of Life" "Luxuries" "Rare Gem" "Something Extraordinary".

The fashion line was launched with much aplomb at the Alara Concept Store with many distinguished people in attendance wearing the brand. The line was the embodiment of everything the name translates to mean, the colours were very rich and exotic and looked quite luxurious, the fabric-100% silk is of the very best, the finishing was topnotch, the styling elegant and standout.

The first line actually delivered on what it promised.

Some of those that attended the event as expected were the likes of Tunde and Reni Folawiyo, Herbert Wigwe of Access Bank, former CEO of Access Bank Aigboje-Aig Imohkuede, GMD/CEO of Oando PLC Wale Tinubu, Kemi Ibru, Ebi Williams and many others.....

One of the early fans of the the brand is the stylish daughter of the billionaire oil mogul, Mr. Femi Otedola, and that's DJ Cuppy who wore "Turfah" very recently to receive her Award at the NYU.

LA LA ANTHONY LEAVES THEM GASPING AT THE MET GALA 2017

The Met GALA is one event/occasion where annually, everyone that believes they know a thing or two about style/fashion always tries to outdo each other.

It's a mad competition, though many don't actually let out like It is, but they always always try to outdo each other.

This year's edition wasn't an exception, with the old and the upcoming trying their best to obliterate each other on the style stake.

The central theme for the 2017 edition was iconic designer Rei Kawakubo of Comme Des Garcon. The legendary designer has always been known as a non conformist from when she began. Her notion about fashion and style has always been unconventional, and that earned her the tag of anti-fashion. Her creations are highly sought after and she has always had a super cult followership.

This year's theme is only the 2nd time in the history of the MET GALA, that the whole focus would be on one designer. The first ever to have had that honour, was the legendary Yves Saint Laurent years back.

So the stars, celebrities et al came smoking hot as was expected. La la Anthony was one of those that came leaving nothing to the imagination in her hot outfit by Thai Nguyen Atelier. She obliterated so many others who were all looking equally gorgeous, young supermodel, Kendall Jenner came wearing just her thong, in a special creation by La Perla Haute Couture, her younger sister, was a sight for sore eyes as she wore embellished Atelier Versace instead. Their big sister, Kim Kardashian West, was rather very subdued in her white outfit, maybe laying credence to the fact she had said that the Paris robbery incidence had changed her and given her a new perspective towards life.

Other smoking hot stars were the likes of Halle Berry, who at 50 and should already be a grandma, is still banging. Chrissy Teigen, the supermodel wife of John Legend was also hot hot. Tennis star, Serena Williams came bump happy showing off her belly and made all green with envy. Lily Aldridge, the supermodel wore white Ralph Lauren combined with that super sexy red boots was oomph and more.

Rihanna the badgirl Riri, did absolute justice to the theme in her Comme Des Garcon outfit that made people gasp. She has always favoured taking the notion of fashion and style, to the absolute farthest, that convention allows. Super supermodel, Brazilian bombshell forever and ever, the 8th wonder of the world known and called Gisele wore silver/grey Stella McCartney, that wrapped her body like a 2nd skin, tidy Thandie Newton rocked her red outfit with much aplomb. Claire Danes white and black outfit, of a shirt and pant, won our heart. Ever the drama queen, Nicki Minaj rocked a red H&M playsuit, showing off her voluptuousness to crazy effect. The alien from the planet style, super model Cara Delevigne, won our heart with that androgynous creation by Chanel. J Lo the incredible was in blue heaven by Valentino. Jaden Smith defined all black everything in Louis Vuitton.

POLO LTD SET TO UNVEIL THE ULTRA SNAZZY THE AVENUE

Most likely before the middle of next month, that is December 2013, Polo Ltd one of the top luxury outfits in Nigeria would add another feather to its already over filled luxury feathered body. The first class brand would be launching/unveiling/opening a new baby as an arm of their luxury business that would be called-The Avenue. 


The Avenue which is a super luxury lifestyle store, the likes of those you see at Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Selfridges etc would be opening on the first floor at the famous Polo Towers, at 166, Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

This new initiative we hear is the baby of the very hardworking executive director of the company in the person of Jennifer Obayuwana, the famous first child of the owner of the business. Jennifer over the last few months had been traversing the world signing many deals and strategic relationships with some of the biggest and renowned brands from the best capitals of the world and we are all about to see the fruits of all this trips. 

According to our findings The Avenue would be stocking brands like Gucci, D&G, Jimmy Choo and Balenciaga. Not only are they going to be stocking these brands, they have apparently signed franchise agreements with the brands stated above, so the way it goes is that as soon as the new collections of this brands are released abroad, you can bet you will see them in store at The Avenue. One other famous brand we hear you will see loads of at the lifestyle store is that of Sophie Hulme, the British Fashion Designer made famous for her bag collection.

So fashionistas, style cognoscenti, collectors et al should get ready for a fantastic time of shopping. We recently had a glimpse of the new store and all we could exclaim was WOW! The decor is unbelievably world class, we are so sure that no expense was spared in putting the place together;The lightnings, the shelves, the sits etc speaks  only of class and distinction.

Work is ongoing at a high pace at the location as we speak, so that the store can be declared open in December to take advantage of the Christmas season sales that most store owners believes is always very good.
