EVENTI COCKTAILS RETURNS WITH THE 5TH EDITION OF LAGOS COCKTAIL WEEK

All is set for the fifth edition of the Lagos Cocktail Week (LCW), the 3-day fiesta highlighting the best of the Nigerian cocktail scene. The event, set to kick off on the 16th and end on the 18th of October 2018 at the Federal Palace Hotel, is known as the place where cocktail enthusiasts and international drinks brands come together in a vibrant atmosphere of the cocktail village with highlights like a conference and the much-anticipated bar battle on the final day.

The LCW was launched in Nigeria four years ago by Eventi Cocktails, with participation from leading Nigerian and international partners and brands including: Johnny Walker, Ketel One Vodka, Ciroc, Tanqueray 10, The Wheatbaker and Intercontinental Hotel. The event has on location the best bars in Lagos, with sensational displays by top mixologists in the business. Past festivals have had strong representation from major bars and clubs in Lagos.

According to Lara Rawa, founder of LCW, “the 2018 edition of the conference will also mark the commencement of the LCW2018 Awards, which serves as a platform for the celebration and promotion of the cocktail culture in Nigeria and recognition of outstanding achievers in the industry. This is in line with our mission which has always been for the cocktail industry at to be recognized as an essential part of the Nigerian beverage industry.”
Expectations for the 2018 edition of the conference are high, with celebrities and influencers participating in a bar crawl on the 4th of October to promote the LCW. This will be followed by the LCW itself, which kicks off on the 16th of October. The grand finale of the conference will take place on October 18th and will feature the popular bar battle and the LCW Awards.

Ms Rawa also stated, “the LCW2018 is looking to take things a notch higher in 2018. We are engaging other leading international brands and individuals to make it bigger than ever. Our theme this year is ‘vintage, fresh, original,’ which is meant to depict the evolution of the drinks and cocktail industry in Nigeria.”

The 2018 edition of the Lagos Cocktail Week is supported by Fayrouz, Ketel One, Tanqueray 10, Johnnie Walker, Sky Vodka, Belvedere Vodka, Glenmorangie, American Honey and official travel partners, Wontra Travels.

We must commend the organisers of the Hennessy Artistry Grand finale. The finale was most definitely a great success in all ways. Great crowd, very good environment, the ambiance at the venue was super cool. The empty space that makes up the marquee was totally transformed. The sound was first rate, the guests a very good mix and there was too much Hennessy to drink and some finger foods to nimble on. Not forgetting that entertainment as provided by the various stars like Banger Lee, Seyi Shay, Naeto C, Burna Boy, 2 Face, K-Switch and more was 7-stars.

It's been a while many saw Naeto C perform and like he always does, he did very well, he even gave his very shy wife a shout out much to the admiration of all. Tuface as expected was in his element, we believe that if the dude is woken up from a deep sleep to perform, he would still give a top notch performance. Kudos to all the other stars that gave very good account of themselves, Seyi Shay is showing to all every time now the stuff of which she's made, she's a dynoooMITE on stage. We particularly love Burna Boy a thorough professional who always always give his best whenever he performs, loved that he wore his Manchester United jersey with much aplomb!!!

We saw very many at the event, the likes of Toolz Oniru, Phyno, Chidinma, ex-beauty queen Omowunmi Akinnifesi who has added a bit of weight in some areas, Fade Ogunro in that sexy black number with the long slit pants & sheer top, Wana Udobong, Lil Miss Miss, the very delightsome & vintage loving Temi Dollface she's always a delight to see at all times. We also saw Yets Asika, Karen Igho, Beverly Osu, Praiz, DJ Exclusive, Lilian Unachukwu, Hauwa Mukan, Olisa Adibua, Tosin Ajibade of Olori Supergal and so many others.
