There's no doubt about who Sir John Obayuwana is. Sir Obayuwana, is the dandy dad (daddy yo) of the equally super stylish, Jennifer Obayuwana, who is better referred to as the underboss of her dad's brand, where she has brought loads of "oomph" since she came on board a couple of years back as an Executive Director.

The blogosphere had been filled with the news sometime back that this hot couple were no more an item. Though the unconfirmed news had gained much coverage and people had believed it. From what we have seen over the couple of weeks, it's like the news is not true.

The very into each other couple are obviously still so much into each other and none is willing or ready to let go, as they have been seen many times together at many events, cooing into each others ears, looking lovingly into each others eyes and showing that the love for each other is still hot hot. 

John Obayuwana, the very dapper dude is the MD/CEO of Polo Ltd, a growing luxury conglomerate, CAT Construction and a couple of other brands. Ene Lawani, is the former Miss Nigeria, who has had the longest reign ever on the throne, 6 good years. She owns her own accessories company based in Surulere, Lagos.

Just like we had predicted before the d-day it was a like a rain of stars, celebs etc came down on the Polo Ltd Corporate HQ @  Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos on Sunday, February 9, 2014. The Island located venue was packed full. When we passed around 6pm on the day of the event,  the spaces in front and on both sides, including opposite the Polo Ltd building was packed full with high end cars- the G-wagons, Benzes etc, showing the caliber of those that came for the opening.

Like you already know, Polo Avenue is the baby of the gorgeous and very stylish daughter of the suave man of style and poshness, Mr John Obayuwana. The forever stylish & utterly young at heart, Mr. Obayuwana dazzled all at the opening in his white shirt, his very stylish sarong trouser and killed it with his black Jimmy Choo pair of shoes with a gold scorpion embroidered atop it.  Jennifer had come up with the idea, to open a branch of her dad's brand that would be into fashion accessories of the best kind, hence Polo Avenue. The new store stocks such iconic brands like Balenciaga, Celine,  Jimmy Choo, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana & Sophie Hulme. Some of the brands had both male & female collections in shoes, belts, ties and bags. 

Truth be told, the new store's ambiance is world class. On the day of the event like we already made mention above, it was an avalanche of the stylish ones and the money bags that came, mixed with a few from the media. Event itself was ably organized by Elohor Aisien's new event company and they sure did well. We heard that the crowd that came paid of for the brand, as they made a killing selling. Some even claimed they nearly sold out! Even our very dear own blogger queen extraordinaire-Linda Ikeji, who came as a friend of Jennifer was caught up in the buying frenzy as she bought herself a nice python bag said to have cost in the region of about 4 zeros after the figure in dollars. 

Most of those that came were the likes of Terry Wayas, Cosmas Maduka, Mo Abudu, Nkiru Anumudu, Francis Ogboro, Ifeoma Williams, Jennifer's ex-D banj came to give support, also there were Vector, Sasha P, Dele Dosunmu, Demola Seriki, Obafoluke Otudeko, Lisa Folawiyo, Vivienne Chioloji, Henry Imaseka, Jide Adenuga, Lanre Da Silva Ajayi, Demola Seriki, ex-Miss World Agbani Darego, Folake Folarin Coker, Tiwa Savage, Veronica Ebie-Odeka, Karen Koshoni, Cleopatra Anunobi, Amelia Dokpesi, Bola Balogun, Linda Mesrob, Jania Ochonogor, Dr. Tunde Soleye, Akin Olopade, Beatrice Olumhense, Bridget Awosika, Fife & Bolu Aiyesimoju, Lolu & Linda Sodeinde, Chris Okeke, Ene Maya Lawani, Eunice Efole, Ernest & Godwin Ebi, Ezinne Alfa, Femi Atilade, Bobby Karibi-Whyte, Tokini Peterside, Ezinne Akudo, Funke Adepoju, Joseph Benjamin & very many others.

All in all it was a good mix. As par the prices of the things, we think it must surely be affordable for those who buy them. We heard that now that the HQ branch of the Polo Avenue has been sorted out, the next point of call might be Abuja, the FCT. So ABJ please wait for it. Praaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!! Kudos Jennifer. More oil on your elbow.

Come this Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the very exclusive Polo Towers on Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, right opposite the Radisson Blu Hotel the new addition to the growing Polo Ltd tentacles Polo Avenue would be declared open officially.


This particular project has been a long time coming for the brand, it is the baby of the Executive Director of Polo Ltd, Miss Jennifer Obayuwana, whose dad the very debonair John Obayuwana owns the luxury conglomerate where the very best of the luxurious things of life converge. 

We had a peek at the super luxury store sometime ago and we were totally impressed by the ambiance and all that we saw. Good money was put to good use to make the place as good as any of its kind anywhere else in the world, the decor is super fantastic. It would stock exclusively like we have said many times already the in season first line collections of Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Balenciaga, Jimmy Choo & Sophie Hulme. 

Invitation cards we hear are being distributed already to the fashionistas & the who-is-who of the style world in Lagos already. To make sure that the event is first class, the event company owned by creative director & CEO of Beth Modeling Agency, organisers of the Elite Model Look Nigeria, Elizabeth Elohor Aisien has been contracted to put the event together. 

So expect to see all the young and the restless Lagos fashionistas the likes of Jania Ochonogor, Linda Sodeinde, Ifeoma Williams, Freda Francis, Eku Edewor, Yvonne Nwosu, Michelle Dede, Ene Lawani, Ono Bello etc and also the not too young reliable the likes of Nkiru Anumudu, Vivienne Chioloji, Mo Abudu, Betty Irabor, Esosa Anenih et al at the event. There would be enough champagnes to pop and canapes to munch, while there would most definitely be a buying frenzy.

The self-styled foremost home of luxury has just released their new TVC that features acts like veteran thespian of note and a Commissioner in the administration of Dr Emmanuel Uguaghan, the executive Governor of Delta State, in the person of the very handsome & suave Commissioner for Tourism & Culture, Richard Mofe-Damijo, alongside him is one of Nigeria's most recognized thespian in the whole universe, in the person of Africa's own Julia Roberts, the one and only Genevieve Nnaji, who looked super gorgeous in her red outfit. 

That's not all, the 40 seconds plus TVC which is already on Youtube and would soon start airing on CNN, but is already on our very own Channels TV, arguably Nigeria's most authentic News Station also features the longest reigning Nigerian beauty queen, former Miss Nigeria 2004 Ene Maya-Lawani,  Nigeria's rave of the moment, top celebutante & show host, that was featured prominently in the last Tatler UK Magazine write-up titled ''Nigerians have arrived'' Eku Georgina Edewor-Thorley. Last but not the least of the cast of the TVC is none other than, one of the best models to have come out Nigeria in the person of the vivacious Ojy Okpe.

We nearly forgot about the brains behind the brand himself, the irrepressible, ever suave style god himself ''Mr John Obayuwana'', who also appeared in the TVC looking as always the ''epitome of class, charm and distinction. 

The stylish video we heard was shot entirely in Dubai, UAE, as can be seen by the backdrop of the Burj Khalifa behind Genevieve Nnaji. The place of  choice is the heavenly 5-star Armani Hotel in Dubai & it was shot by award winning video director Sesan Ogunro and the shoot was styled by his very multi-talented sister Fade Ogunro.  The TVC is tagged ''Celebration'' as it celebrates those who have made a mark or 2 in their chosen field of endeavor and have thought to reward themselves for very well deserved success.

 2 of the biggest luxury brands Polo Ltd & Rolex watch had an event early last week, Tuesday, November 5, 2013 to be more precise. Some top executives of the world famous watch brand were in town on a visit to one of their best clients this side of divide. To welcome the executives Polo Ltd organized a welcome event and a product launch kind-off at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos. 

Many of the friends of Polo Ltd were invited to grace the A-class occasion. And to show them some of the newest Rolex Watches.
