NOT A PALATABLE NEWS AS DR SID AND SIMI'S MARRIAGE FINALLY COLLAPSE

When they exchanged their wedding vows a couple of years back 2014 to be more precise, it was a talk of the town nuptial they had, as good money was well spent to make it one of the weddings of the season then. While Dr. Sid, full name Sidney Esiri was one of the raves of the moment then, being one of the artists on Don Jazzy's label, his wife Simi was from a wealthy home and had a good job. Their families left no stone unturned to make sure it was a befitting nuptial.

Fast forward now to a couple of years after and after 2 adorable kids, girls for that matter-Sydney & Sarah, it's a sad story instead as the center couldn't hold no more and both have to part ways permanently. They had had much trouble and turbulence all through. Some had even speculated that part of the issue was because the dentist turned music star, who had followed Don Jazzy his boss from Mo Hits to Mavin Records with the likes of D'Prince, Tiwa Savage and Co wasn't as buoyant or liquid as he used to be when he and record mates were ruling the airwaves and balling extraordinarily. So maybe as things weren't too good, madam stepped in more and more. All of that are unconfirmed speculations! 

There were stories of altercations in the past, as it's common in nearly all marriages too. In fact it was said that Simi used to slap her husband around and abuse him (domestic abuse), which she has denied in strong terms. They had parted for a bit and later tried to come back together and people felt they must have learnt their lessons and would be more careful now, to at least make things work. But alas, seems like everything has totally collapsed and scattered now. Simi herself released a statement, where she stated very clearly that the marriage was done for and is irrevocably headed towards divorce and that both would do their best to be good Co-parents. In the last one week the head honcho at Mavin Records, the one and only and in fact the incredible Don Jazzy has been extending his good fortune, the hands of Grace, the way of many Nigerians.

We came across his kind gesture to fans and have thought that this is the kind of very important thing that needs to be made loud, so others in far more better positions can see what it is like to contribute to the betterment of others around them, not necessarily those you know from anywhere at all.

And from what we heard, being his brothers keeper is a normal thing that he is used to doing. Such good deeds are like a cup of tea to him that he does very often without batting an eye. So this time around he had asked that those who needed something to help with what they do should send in a picture of the particular things in #with50k and those who knew that when the Don ask for such a thing, he doesn't joke around and wants to pour down the rain, heeded his call quickly.

And just like that computer, camera and (generators 3.5 litre) at least 10 of such generators exchanged hands. Not less than 20 people were part of the enviable largesse!

This is undeniable how to be wealthy. Not stockpiling unnecessary cars around to show off and to intimidate and harass people and then not helping souls around you. 

AGAINST THE SAVAGE ANTAGONISM AGAINST HER, TIWA SAVAGE RELEASES PICTURES OF HER NEW PRIVATE JET CAR

Mother of 1 and probably  Nigeria's most visible female artiste currently, in the person of her royal majesty, the distinguished Tiwa Savage has had a horrendous time of recent facing many darts from different angles and directions. Some are even saying it's probably a gang-up against her!

What 1st started a while ago with another super artist by name Yemi Alade when the 2 exchanged veiled insults, has now gone on the epic level with another artiste, this time around being Kenyan bombshell singer Victoria Kimani. But even has that is supposedly still on going, another top female artiste, the super talented Seyi Shay is said to have released her own veiled diss against Tiwa too, using the #fvckyouchallenge that has since gone multiple viral as her platform. What could Tiwa have done to deserve all these all out attack from all sides?

Victoria in her case, has been more than Savage with all that she's had to say about Tiwa in her recent unrelenting, no holds barred outburst. She's gone as far as insinuating so many terribly unpalatable things about the Mavin Records label 1st lady.

Just imagine another lady outting another insinuating that she's bedded loads of married men to get to where she is, as the queen in the throne presently as if talent is not enough! Savage !!!

The all out attack started with Victoria Kimani's version of the #fvckyouchallenge which was a no holds barred slamdunk, take down, pin fall of the most vicious kind. And it continued with Tiwa's response/slap back with the release of the pictures of her new maybe Rolls Royce or some unbelievable private jet kinda car on wheels badass machine.

So who next is coming after the adorable Tiwa?

Not the best of times right now for for Dentist turned entertainer under the Mavin Group label as headed by Don Jazzy, in the person of Sidney Esiri aka Dr Sid and his gorgeous wife Simi, as we hear that the marriage that was very celebrated with a very public wedding of the year ceremony 3 years ago has crashed! Crashed? No we believe not yet, until a formal divorce. So so sad!

We had seen the beautiful wife and mother of one very recently at the Fashion Weekend alone and had asked for the husband to which she had replied, fine and at home, only for us to hear this sad news that things have gone beyond repair and that madam has now packed out not too long afterwards.

We intentionally refused to write or post anything since, because they are both our friends, who we love so much and we had thought to allow them find a way to sort out their issues, but alas we hear that both sides have dugged deep and reconciliation might not be that quick, with both parties unfollowing each other publicly.

We have tried reaching Dr Sid since, at least to hear from him, but his known number has been unreachable, switched off probably deliberately.

The celebrity marriage which was sanctioned with a celebrity wedding of the season, was so rich, so exotic then that it razzzled-dazzled all and sundry when it was contracted only 3 years ago and they have a beautiful child between them. It was even alleged then that cost of wedding ceremony was a whopping ₦25 million Naira!

We cannot tell you yet for a fact, what is said to have caused the enstrangement which has led to this major public scrutiny and both cutting ties from each other, but many unsubstantiated reasons have been bandied about, two of which is infidelity and philandering.

We pray that both can work things out amicably though. It has not necessarily been a fantastic year for the Mavin Records as unlike before, they would have saturated us with hits after hits after hits, save for the incredible Tiwa Savage who has swept us off our feet, all others have been average. 

DON JAZZY'S MAVIN RECORDS SIGNS THE INCREDIBLY GORGEOUS & SUPER TALENTED Di' JA

It takes someone as super talented as Don Jazzy or Don baba J like he is called to discover another super talent. From henceforth, Mavin' Records is surely not going to be the same again. Cos' everyone is surely going to up the ante and take their game to the very next level- the stratosphere. 


Di' JA is the new name on all the lips and boy not only is she gorgeous, she's awesomely talented and signed on to Mavin as the 2nd female act after the incredibly gorgeous Tiwa Savage. 

WHO IS Di' JA & WHAT IS SHE ABOUT? 

It has taken 5 good month of working undercover and under the radar and fine tuning just any rough edges that might have still been there, before this game changer could be unleashed on the scene. Already she's causing major earthquake, firstly because everyone in the industry knows that Don Jazzy does not just sign for the sake of it. Di'Ja has already become the most anticipated act on the scene. 

Before coming back home to show the stuff of what she's made of, she's already dazzled all with her talent in Canada. Since 2009, she was already nominated for the Best Urban/R&B single at the Canadian Radio Music Awards, while a year before in 2008 she had won the Best New Artiste Award at the Beat Awards. 

Her full name is Hadiza 'Di' Ja Blell. And she's a multi-talented & multifaceted singer, song-writer, visual artist and humanitarian, who holds a degree in Biology and Psychology. But has embraced music in its totality as her essence. And because of this unrelenting passion of hers, she wants to share her love across the continent and beyond. 

According to the Don at Mavin Records, the Don baba J himself, Di' Ja represents ''the new generation of Nigeria Music. She is versatile  and adaptable. This is not the best of times in the relationship between Don Jazzy, the head honcho at Mavin Records and one of his former wards in the person of the one and only 'black diamond of the Nigerian music scene' Wande Coal. 


Both guys who left together from Mo' Hits Records to form Mavin Records with D' Prince Omoba, Dr. Sid & Don Jazzy and was joined by Tiwa Savage to start Mavin have taken to the social media, especially Twitter to show the extent their former friendship has degenerated to. 

It's now like an open war has been declared. Wande Coal sometime not too long ago left Mavin to set up his own brand Black Diamond Ent. There had been some form of dissatisfaction for a long while while both were still at Mo' Hits & later Mavin Records. But after the braking up of Mo' Hits & some members of the former coming together to form Mavin, everyone had thought things were now going to get better, with more attention now focused on all the others equally, unlike their days in Mo' Hits where D' Banj was the numero uno, but alas things didn't pan up like that. Only for WC to leave Mavin to set up his own.

Now after just a few weeks of parting wars, both seem to have gone on the war path. The crux of this new fight between Don Jazzy & Wande Coal aka WC aka Black Diamond is apparently over a new jam released by Wande Coal titled Baby face. Don Jazzy is said to have alleged on Twitter that Wande Coal stole from him (intellectual property theft). 

The war of words started thus- Don Jazzy- How long will I continue to sweat and some people would choose to steal from me. I am nice and easy going doesn't mean u should disrespect me.

OUT & ABOUT AT TIWA SAVAGE'S ALBUM LISTENING PARTY

Just like we already announced in an earlier post, the album listening party was at the Wheatbaker Hotel in Ikoyi, Lagos. It was Tiwa's own way of  bonding with some of her fans, majorly with a few of her support systems, the media and a few of her colleagues. 


It was a very well put together event by her management team 323 entertainment headed by her fiance Teebillz & her record label, Mavin Records led by Don Jazzy. The Mavin quartet (Don Jazzy, D'Prince, Dr Sid & Wande Coal) were unavoidably absent has they had to be in South Africa, where they performed to an ovation at the opening of the Big Brother Africa: The Chase reality show. Though they were absent, they sent in a video message that was relayed to all. Don Jazzy thanked all for their support all this while and spoke about the new album in glowing terms. 

Then immediately to the business of the day, which was the album listening, though we couldn't stay till the end, the bits & bobs that we heard was quite impressive. It was a little bit of everything, like some would say a flavour pool for everyone, showcasing the incredible writing & the singing talent of the 'sonorously' blessed one. It was a gradual unfolding and majestic journey of excellence. This good-natured and gorgeous, singer-entertainer has come of age and matured. Like they say ''like good wine gets better with age''.

The about 20 + songs were introduced by Tiwa one after the other, each time giving little titbits about the inspiration & reasons behind each song. This particularly endeared the audience to each jam. The lady of the day, was gorgeously garbed (in a Mary Kartranzou outfit, finished off with a silver Jimmy Choo strappy sandals) showing off her legs in her short silk outfit to stunning effect. 

Who were those we saw around? Quite a few, Eyo Effiong, Femi Akande, Eku Edewor, Azuka Ogujuiba, Olisa Adibua, Dolapo Oni, Linda Ikeji, Noble Igwe, Jumai & Aisha Shaba, Franka Chiedu, Waje, Latasha Ngwube, Ify Ejikeme, Efe Tommy, Uti Nwachukwu, Banky W, DJ Spinall, Toju Foyeh , Akin Babs-Familusi, Azuh Arinze, Biodun Kupoluyi, Sesan Adeniyi & Toolz Oniru just to mention a few. Illrhymz was the day's MC, the dapper dude looked very on point. 

Event itself was handled by No Suprises, where Funmi Okigbo is the Numero Uno. Cocktail started at about 3pm before the event proper began about an hour plus later. Support was given by Pepsi who had renewed Tiwa's ambassadorial contracts for another 2 years. And Bailey's Irish Cream was served for all to enjoy! The album aptly titled ''Once Upon A Time'' would be dropping on June 14, 2013.

TIWA SAVAGE'S ALBUM LISTENING SET FOR TODAY-SUNDAY, MAY 26, 2013

Today Sunday, May 26, 2013 is the d-day. By say 3 pm, friends, colleagues and the media would be converging at one of the best boutique hotels in Nigeria, the Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos reportedly owned by the Danjuma (General Theophilus Danjuma to be more precise) for the listening party of one of Nigeria's most gifted songbirds in the person of Tiwaonibaje Savage, better known as Tiwa Savage. 

After many months of trying to put together a body of work that should be commendable and award winning, the highly anticipated album is now finally ready. The detectably sonorous one and her management company headed by her fiance -Teebillz & her record company- Mavin Records, where Don Jazzy is the Capo di tutti Capi, are finally hosting many to her album listening gig. 

That Tiwa is blessed musically is stating the obvious, this is the first ever album the songbird would be putting out, though she's had many years experience in the music industry. From her days in the UK, then to the US, where she collaborated with some of the best in the industry through her song-writing skills & also as a back-up singer, it's been a fun ride. It wasn't until she came back to Nigeria and the release of a couple of singles, that people really took notice. Since then it's been a glorious upward swing for the humble one. 

So today is the day, that many would feel the power of this blessed one in a full circle, as we would all gather to be be mesmerized by her songs.  The highly anticipated debut album is titled ''Once upon a time''.

DR SID'S BRAND SPANKING NEW EDIFICE GETTING READY

We love to celebrate our stars when they are making progress. One of the latest to have acquired a palatial edifice fit for a star is Mavin's own Dr Sid. The dentist turned musician who is still living at his 1004 apartment is gradually putting finishing touches to his pride. 

It's a semi-detached house located somewhere in Lekki Phase 1 on the Island. We especially love the fact that though we haven't heard of any endorsements coming his way, music seems to be paying off very well for him. We especially love the fact that he is investing unlike many others. So most likely before the end of the year, the cool and stylish dude might be moving from the 1004 estate to his own abode.

We also hear that Omawumi is putting up her own building somewhere around the Lekki Phase 1 area too. 

Kudos to them.

SOMETHING DELICIOUSLY NEW FROM TONI TONES

Toni Tones is no doubt one gifted vixen. Or how else can one lady be an actress, songstress, ace-photographer, online editor, voice over artist, fashionista, lady and god-fearing young person all-in-one. She's not only gorgeous, but a dynamite in many ways than one. 

The gloriously talented one continues to extend her creative frontier and like very few gifted ones, she also excels in those things she does.
 

The blessed one as the artist is getting ready to launch her debut single, titled:

' I know what you like'. Which has been getting unprecedented airplay for the past few days.

Produced by Mavin records' Baby Fresh, 'I know what you like' is an fun afro-pop song guaranteed to get you off your feet and get you dancing.

From the little snippets we have gotten. Toni has about 10 songs ready as we speak. But she would be dropping between 3 to 5 singles in the course of the year. But the full album is slated for 2014. And we hear it's gonna be the bomb!

WC, the one and only black diamond is back and kicking really kicking it massively all over again.  The Mavin Records artist only yesterday released a jam that should be a massive club banger and the Don Baba J produced jam is aptly titled ''The Kick''. 

We are so sure the intention is to ''kick'' start the music career of one of Africa's most talented vocalist, at a point it was like his career was in a limbo, but with this jam we are so sure everyone would come to appreciate Wande Coal all over again and take notice. 

Mavin Records is already telling everyone with this jam that 2013 ain't gonna be easy oooooo. Pretenders had better run for cover.

TIWA SAVAGE DROPS NEW SINGLE TITLED-FOLARIN

Mavin's Record first lady, the gorgeously sonorous Tiwa Savage has just dropped a new single and it is titled, FOLARIN. As it has become very usual with Tiwa, it's a beautiful track that we believe would quickly catch and become another anthem. 

Many have not forgotten Kele Kele Love, Love me, love me, love me, Ife wa gbona, and some of her fantastic features with other artistes. Now we have Folarin. The new jam we hear was produced by Magik Boi ''Spellz'' of 323 ENT.

DR SID RELEASES HOT NEW SINGLE- AFEFE(BREEZE)

Sporting a new hair cut and a slimmer waistline, Dr Sid is back with his latest hit ‘Afefe’, which trended on twitter last week. After his dazzling performance alongside Wande Coal at the ‘Love Afrobeats Festival’, headlined by P Square, Dr Sid, real name Sidney Onoriode Esiri isn’t wasting any time with his new music.
 The ‘Chocolate’ crooner flew into the UK to shoot the video directed by renowned director Sesan Ogunro. Set for release at the end of next month, ‘Afefe’, which means ‘Breeze’, is a clever play on a Nigerian proverb, while Dr Sid promises to cool down the ladies in the catchy chorus. This is the latest track to be released and does not feature on the new Mavin Records album ‘Solar Plexus’. It’s a stand alone track made especially for the clubs- a certified club banger produced by BlayzeBeats.

 Since the launch of the Mavin Records label, Dr Sid has  ‘Chocolate’, ‘YOLO’ and ‘CPR’ sizzling under his belt already. These songs sit alongside his label mates Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal and D’Prince, which were all produced by the multiple-award winning super producer and Mavin Records Label Boss Don Jazzy.

“It’s been a whirlwind since the launch of Mavin Records”, says Dr Sid onset of the shoot. “We all have been working hard on our individual projects. SUPER DUPER WORLD EXCLUSIVE FROM MM: MAVIN RECORD'S 1ST LADY SCORES PEPSI ENDORSEMENT

It's a season of firsts for the newly signed on First Lady of Mavin Records-Tiwa Savage. For many who might not have heard the news yet, the former Generalissimo at Mo'Hits Records- the Don himself a.k.a Don Jazzy has decided to discard the old label and came up with a new one- Mavin Records, though he got Mo'Hits after the break up with his former partner-D-Banj.

The Mavin Records Crew is made up of Don-Jazzy, Wande Coal, Dr. Sid, Da'Prince and the only female artiste yet on the label- songstress extra-ordinaire- Tiwaonibaje Savage- known to all just as Tiwa Savage.

Tiwa's company 323 entertainment, owned by her and her manager-TeeBillz, signed a fantastic partnership deal with Mavin Records to take the gorgeous singer/song-writer's career to the next level. We hear there might have been a confidentiality clause in the contract, so do not expect any talk from Tiwa about the deal.

What we have heard majorly is that her highly anticipated full body of works, a 1st Album for her is in the works and its gathering momentum daily. She's is always at the studio nowadays to make sure everything is on point, and from the little we could gather  the debut would be a 14 to 16 tracks album, which should be rolling off the plate before the end of June or most likely July, while the album itself would be launched in August of 2012.


But that's not the main news; the real hot gist is that Tiwa very recently landed a multi-million naira endorsement deal with world renowned soft drinks giant-PEPSI. The deal is another first in the whole of Africa. She becomes the first ever artiste from Africa to be so endorsed by the world class brand. Already the commercial to launch her is in the works, so the massive unveiling would be happening soon. This endorsement deal was inked about a month ago with her management company (323 Entertainment), long before joining Mavin Records. She joins mega-rap star Nicki Minaj, who also recently inked a multi-million dollar deal with Pepsi, Nicki is the new international face of Pepsi, while Tiwa is proudly carrying the flag of Africa. Other Pepsi stars who had gotten such endorsements in the past are the likes of Michael Jackson, Ray Charles, Janet Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Aishwariya Rai-ex Miss World and Amitabh Bachchan in India etc who were at a point the face of Pepsi.

 Like we had said previously, Tiwa has only ever released 3 singles into the market- Kele Kele Love, Love me, Love me Love me and the mad fantastic collabo with Don Jazzy- Without my heart. But she has always being known in the industry has a prolific song-writer, one of her songs, written for Fantasia got nominated for a Grammy a while back and she has another song out now, written for American Sweetheart- MONICA on her new album- New Life. The song is titled 'Catch Me' and it's one of the bonus tracks on the deluxe edition of the album.

Tiwa Savage is gradually getting set to take over the world. We wish her very well.
