That Chief Mrs. Florence Ita-Giwa, a Princess and a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is a well celebrated Nigerian matriarch has never been in doubt. She is one top Nigerian celebrity, that is hardworking and has never only depended on politics to maintain her gorgeous lifestyle. So to celebrate her 73rd year on earth, the very elegant, very classy, highly connected woman, who normally hosts an annual very classy birthday celebration, has thought to celebrate this year's occasion by extending her business frontier, with the opening of her pet dream, her own 5 stars restaurant named "Echoes of CALABAR". It's a well known fact that MMA BAKASSI loves where she is from to a fault, always very concerned about the plight of her people. So this restaurant is a part of the celebration of her heritage, which she has always loved to put in the front burner. The Calabar/Akwa Ibom people are known for their super tasty food, amongst other things.

Mma Bakassi like she is so very well known, majorly because of her love and care for her people from Bakassi, would be declaring the restaurant open tomorrow, Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 5pm and it is expected to be with loads of pomp. The address of the first class place is 285, Akin Olugbade Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. Knowing the humble politician for who she is and how her friends always rally around her to support whatever she does, just like she does too, the place is expected to be jam-packed by the who-is-who of the celebrity heaven. MMA BAKASSI, SENATOR FLORENCE ITA-GIWA SLAMS RULING PARTY THE APC. CALLS THEM A HOUSE OF CONFUSION AS SHE RETURNS BACK TO THE PDP

Dame of Politics and the most outspoken person from Bakassi, Mma BAKASSI, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa who moved to the ruling party the APC just about a year ago, after a protracted simmering issues with her home state Governor then, has blasted the APC where she moved to, has she dumps them, to move back to where she came from in the first instance, which is the PDP.

Just imagine that the well connected, highly influential politician who is also a noted style icon, with many awards in her kitty slamming the APC, as a "house of confusion"! That's a super shocking assessment coming from her and a damning indictment of the party especially ahead of the election year, 2019.

The most visible and the most famous female politician from Cross Rivers State, who apart from being a former Senator, was also at a time the Senate Deputy Minority Leader and a special adviser to the then president tabled a few of the reasons for her change of mind thus--

She stated that in her over three decades in politics, she has not seen the kind of confusion she met in the APC inspite of the kind of forthright President the party produced in 2015 in the person of Mohammadu Buhari and an intelligent Vice President, but recent activities in the APC is nothing but complete confusion.

-"I cannot understand why out of sheer negligence, a party will not be able to present candidates for elections in several key states nationwide.

-“ I cannot understand how any party will have in its ranks popular and trusted leaders who can muster tremendous goodwill for the party and yet treats them with disdain”.

She further went ahead to say  "the party is factionalised, beginning from the ward to the national level, which shows how incapable it is to organise itself and get ready to win an election and so for that reason, she would prefer to swim or sink with her original home, the PDP.

“The experience of the supposed recent direct primaries was also a taste of sour experience where factional interests simply allocated figures and manipulated same as votes after shutting out other aspirants in the race”

The well loved Mma Bakassi further explained that the factionalisation even affected her own ward and local government area, where the party is grappling with the problem of proper resettlement of the people and there are divisions in the party which shows it can never make headway or win against the PDP.

She then called on all her supporters to join her as she returns to the PDP and to ensure victory for the party at all levels.

Mma Bakassi has a rich political history in Nigeria. The 72 year old started her political sojourn as far back as thr days of the NRC, the party from where she became a House of representatives member in 1992. She later became a Senator on the platform of the APP in 1999 till 2003. It was after she left the Senate in 2003 that she joined the then ruling party the PDP and she became the special adviser to the then President Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, on National Assembly Matters. It was from the PDP last year that she jumped ships and joined the ruling APC from where she has now moved back again to the PDP. 

SENATOR FLORENCE ITA GIWA STILL A GORGEOUS FASHIONISTA AT 71!

We caught up with the popular politician and philanthropist, known to most as Mma Bakassi, but better known to all as Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, just yesterday at Christ Embassy Church, Lekki, Lagos at the baby dedication of the gorgeous daughter of now retired former Captain of the National Football team, the Super Eagles, in the person of Joseph "JY" Yobo aka captain fantastic and his supremely lovely and very well mannered ex-beauty Queen wife, Adaeze Stephanie Chinenye Yobo, MBGN 2008.

The dame, who is not a day younger than 71 years old, still has the poise, elegance and sophistication of someone half her age. And to add to it all, her style sense is still top notch.

She has won several style awards for her age class several times over. For Florence Ita-Giwa, good form is something she doesn't toy with and not relent in.

At every occasion we have seen her over the years, she has represented with supreme panache showcasing good style and Oomph with careless abandon. That could only have been possible by virtue of years and years of doing it great and honing ones skills.

She's known to have some of the best designers and tailors, both local and international on her speed dial and at her beck and call, and one of the secrets that we found out is that, she prefers some of the best from Beirut in Lebanon where she flies to quite often, either to get the most exotic of fabrics or to commission some new "eat your hearts out collection" to dazzle all and sundry.

This her lace outfit with the gorgeous applique, is simple but classy, yet not outrageous for someone in her 70s who is still consciously classy.
