NOTTING HILL CARNIVAL 2013-THE OUT & ABOUT & THE WHOLE 411

JUSTINA omo2sexy, ADELINE & PINK

It was with great excitement that we covered the Carnival again. The fear of the riots of about a year or 2 had totally faded. It was an opportunity to have fun again on another level.

As usual people came out in very large numbers and as they are known to do, especially the young ladies, who came out in various stages of near undressed or should we say nakedness. We can bet that many conceptions takes place on this day. There was excitement in the air and excitement normally causes many to let go, drinking to stupor, smoking whatever, many were openly smoking ganja like their very lives depended on it. And you know when you have the twin of those kinda things in your blood flow, you are likely to let go. Some of the dancing can only be described or replicated in the bedroom, they were raunchy especially when done in those scanty outfits.

It was still fun galore all the way, security was not play-play (joke) at all ooo, every direction you look at, you catch a glimpse of the hardworking men of the Police force, no guns, no riot gears, but their imposing presence alone in numbers dissuades you from been funny, that doesn't still mean some didn't misbehave at all; a particular guy drank himself to total stupor and he laid on the side of the road in a grotesque form, one only hopes he wasn't dead yet, he had peed & puked on himself  and was surrounded by the police and a growing crowd, waiting for the emergency service to come take him to the hospital.

Away from the unnecessary shenanigans of a few, the Nigerian corner was filled to capacity as always. There was one musical performance after another, people were generally having undiluted fun. Western Union blessed 5 of the lucky audiences with 500 Pounds to send anywhere the winners wanted to send it to. Another lucky guy won a brand new Ipad courtesy of the same Western Union. BenTV gave out 2 pairs of Nigerian Centenary Snickers to a male & female audiences. Several mixed tapes were thrown into the crowd.

We were there to see what happened and got some pictures for your enjoyment.

HONEY B MARSHALL ROCKED THE HOUSE AT THE NOTTING HILL CARNIVAL 2013......

Prior to the entertainer going up, she just stood very quietly in one corner by the stage with 2 of her friends watching the proceedings with quiet intensity, for all you care she was one of the audience or part of the crew who was a able to get a good position unlike many others.

Then after a while, she was introduced as the UK BASED daughter of the great man of Fuji Music, the one & only self-acclaimed King of the genre, K1-the Ultimate, King Wasiu Ayinde.

Then like a genie, on getting on stage she totally transformed. It was like the stage injected some not before seen energy into her, twas' like an injection of a spark, she just took over. It was like seeing the mass of the crowd, hailing and yelling in anticipation spurred her on and she entered into another realm. Then she began to sing and jiggle & jump and roll and twisted. She was a marvel to watch. Sweet, Seductive, Flirtatious, Provocative all at the same time (The hot pant & what was packed in it was surely hot! Wink!Wink!!). One thing for sure is that, she's a natural and her choreography was on point. She and her 2 male dancers were in sync. When she turned her back to the crowd and jiggled & twisted the crowd went wild with excitement. At the end we saw she was happy with herself. Kudos to her.

If managed well and positioned appropriately, Honey B is surely set to blow!!!!.

The carnival was super full yesterday, Bank Holiday, Monday, August 26, 2013. Since it was an holiday many had the opportunity to be off work to come have a nice time. The Nigerian Corner was super-super filled up, we saw too many peeps, too numerous to mention or recount, though curiously we didn't see many of the stars/celebrities except for a few music stars, comedians et al. (Seems like many are not super excited bout the carnival no more). You have been to one, you have seen it all, seems to be the word now. But one of those we saw that caught our attention was this very gorgeous Cypriot or like some say Cyprian named Aisha.

The beautiful, sweet-natured lady who introduced herself to us as Aisha is the wife(partner) of Nigerian entertainer Tillaman (Adeyemi Adetona) remember the guy that did Ko ma roll & Ori owo. According to her they have known each other now for a total of a decade and have been married for about half of those years since about 2008.

She came to support her husband as his biggest fan as he performed at the Naija Corner at the 2013 Notting Hill Carnival in London, England. She was singing along and really digging it as her man was performing even singing the Yoruba parts very fluently.

We later took pictures of the couple together.

AUGUST 27,2012 IN LONDON. WHERE WOULD YOU RATHER BE AT? D BANJ LIVE OR AFRICA UNPLUGGED?

London is abuzz! Don't worry it's not about the Olympics anymore, though the Paralympics is upcoming gearing to start on August 29, 2012. The buzz in town before the London Paralympics is about the various music concerts set for August 27, 2012. On that date the HMV Apollo would play host to D banj Live, in a show tagged D'Banj & Superstar friends. The show would be hosted by Abrantee and the superstar friends are Big Sean?, the self-styled Omo Baba Olowo himself-Davido, May7ven and Vibe Squad, and maybe, just maybe Kanye West might just show face. Tickets are selling from between 20 Pounds to 500 Pounds, the 500 Pounds ticket allows you to meet and greet the star(s) and also the 20 ticket holders get free VIP after-party invites. Show is billed to start from 7PM.

On that same date, bank holiday Monday, August 27, 2012 in London also, is another concert tagged Africa Unplugged, already billed as the biggest African music festival in Europe. On their bill are the likes of Grammy nominated artiste-Femi Anikulapo Kuti, 2 Face Idibia, Fally Ipupa, Sarkodie, Zahara, Barnaba Boy, Flavour, Cabo Snoop, Chameleon, Madtraxx, Winky D, Dj Arafat, Iyanya, R2Bees, Zakes Bantwini, Dj Edu, Mic Inity and many others. It's like a coalition of African superstars all set to perform that night. The show would be happening at the Wembley Arena and planned to start by 6PM.

Mind you all, the Notting Hill Carnival 2012 is also on for that day, though billed for much earlier. The Nigerian Corner would have the likes of Sir Shina Peters, Olamide, Buchi, Munachi Abii, Wale Gates and so many more performing, from 12PM till about 7PM. So it's a potpourri of choice to pick from, though the Notting Hill Carnival stands on its own. So between the D'Banj & Superstar friends and the Africa Unplugged, which would you rather go to? We don't particularly understand why the organizers of both shows chose to hold the concerts on the same date. Each would have been packed full, on different dates.
