Lagos|Nigeria, June 9  2013  - The high anticipation preceding the 1^st leg of the Star Music Trek regional concerts was not in vain as music lovers from the nooks and crannies of Lagos and beyond thronged  Jite Open Field in FESTAC, to watch their favourite superstars Psquare, M.I, Ice Prince, Sound Sultan, KCee, Kas and other exciting artistes perform live.

Thousands of guests bravely defied the Lagos rains to attend the concert and witness high-octane performances from the star artistes.

Compere of the event, Gbenga Adeyinka, set the crowd reeling as he dished out from his rich repertoire of jokes and anecdotes while boldly challenging local talent who eagerly lined up at the venue as early as 3pm to join him on the stage and prove their mettle.

However, it was the scintillating performances- a rich medley of thumping dance steps and pulsating rhythms- from fan favourites PSquare, M.I, Ice Prince, Sound Sultan, Kcee, Kas, and Crystals that sent the crowd into frenzy with many demanding encores from the headliners.

One after the other, the music acts dished out popular songs from their collection of hits, reaching out to the crowd who swelled the ranks in appreciation of the stage craft and mastery of the entertainers.

The stars rain down in torrents last night, when Nigerian Breweries Plc the makers of Star Lager beer and other brands announced at their press conference held last night at Rhapsody's on Agoro Odiyan, Victoria Island, Lagos, those who would be part of this year's moving concert.

From the very incredible Tuface Idibia, to the likes of MI, Naeto C, Seyi Shay, Phyno, J Martins, Wande Coal, Sean Tizzle, Kas, Sound Sultan, DJ Jimmy Jatt, DJ Caise, Karen Igho, Sunday Are, Tiwa Savage, Gideon Okeke who was the the night's MC, Uti Nwachukwu, Mr Raw etc.  We hear the likes of Ice Prince and some other artistes would be joining the train as the trek moves along.

We also saw the likes of media personalities Ono Bello, Toke Makinwa, 93.7 FM Omalincha, Olisa Adibua Beat 99.9 FM, Niyi Tabiti of GistMaster, Noble Igwe of 360 Nobs, Biodun Kupoluyi of E-24/7, Nseobong Okon- Ekong-Deputy Editor, ThisDay, O'Tosin of Olori Supergal  and very many others

This year's edition would have 22 artistes performing in 10 cities over 10 weeks, starting from June 8, 2013 in Festac, Lagos & ending on August 10, 2013 back in Lagos at the Oceanview Arena, Victoria Island, Lagos. The stars would entertain their die-hard fans at venues in Festac, Agege, Victoria Island in Lagos State, Abeokuta, in Ogun State, Asaba, in Delta State, Nnewi, Anambra State, Owerri, Imo State, Enugu, Enugu State, Lokoja, Kogi State & Aba, Abia State. The dates for the trek are as follows- June 8, Festac, June 15, Lokoja, June 22, Owerri, June 29, Enugu, July 7, Aba, July 13, Nnewi, July 20, Asaba, July 27, Abeokuta, August 10, Agege, before everything would now end same date at the Oceanview, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The theme for this year's Trek is Nigeria Rocks, so in all the cities the trek would be visiting, the cities are set to rock to its foundation.  Star Trek Music Concert is probably the biggest of its kind in the country. And it has been very successful since its advent in 2002, so this year's edition is the 11th in the series. The idea from the organizers is to carry the Nigerian Music stars to the nooks & crannies of the country, helping to bring fun and excitement the way of the stars adoring fans.

Lagos|Nigeria, May 22 2013   Music fans and Star lovers across Nigeria are in for an amazing time on this year’s Star Music Trek as music superstars 2Face Idibia, D’banj, Psquare, Ice Prince, Tiwa Savage, KC and many more big names have been confirmed to perform at the highly anticipated event.

A star-studded sign-on and announcement ceremony, which officially heralded Star Music Trek 2013, held at Rhapsodys Lounge, Victoria Island on Wednesday 22^nd May 2013.

The exclusive event witnessed attendance from celebrities, industry top shots, consumers as well as Nigerian and international media.

Other hit-makers scheduled to join Star to make Nigeria rock this year include Timaya, Sound Sultan, Wande Coal, Obesere, M.I, Mr Raw, Dr Sid, Ice Prince, and J Martins, as well as Naeto C, Tiwa Savage, Seyi Shey, Kas, Phyno, Yinka Best, Olamide, Juke Box, Da Beatz and Crystalz.

Star Music Trek 2013 will span 10 weeks and will visit 10 cities across the country, namely Aba, Abeokuta, Agege, (-Lagos) Asaba, Enugu, Festac (-Lagos) Lokoja, Nnewi, Owerri, Lokoja, and V.I (Lagos) and will kick off on Saturday June 8, 2013.
