All roads would be leading today, Sunday, July 30, 2017 to the humongous and supremely stylish new business empire of the designer daughter of SIFAX boss, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi.

The award winning young designer, whose brother is the very popular star musician Damilola Afolabi aka LAX, a prodigy of StarBoi, Wizkid is set to wow all comers today at the grand opening of this new place.

Maryam Afolabi used to run all her businesses on Bisola Durosinmi Etti Street, Lekki Phase 1. That former edifice housed her fashion atelier and other businesses like Salon etc. But she has now moved those businesses to a much more upscale spot on Alexander Road, Ikoyi, just on the left of as you come out at that road that connects the one coming out from Banana Island, hitting Alexander Road.

The artistic expression showcased by those who built this new place is awesome to say the least. Metal containers were positioned and placed and cut to shape, to create space for Mademoiselle Aglaia' s new homebase.

So today is the grand opening, starting from 4pm.

Knowing the connect of her super rich and very influential dad and brother, the event is going to be packed with the who-is-who and also most likely top entertainers in the industry, therefore it is going to be a very colourful and stylish occasion.

Mariam's brand has grown in leaps and bounds since she began the brand, a few years ago her fashion brand which is her baby won the best young brand of the year, at that year's edition of the Africa Fashion Week London.

So we are happy to congratulate her on another leap in progress.    

OUT & ABOUT AT MADEMOISELLE AGLAIA FASHION SHOWCASE- PART 1

All roads very recently, on Saturday, December 29, 2012 to be more precise, led to the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos when 19 years old Mariam Afolabi, launched her new fashion collection to a loud ovation. Her brand is called Mademoiselle Aglaia. Mademoiselle like we all already know, describes a young woman in French, while Aglaia is a Greek word, that denotes beauty, splendor or brilliance. So the 2 word talks about, a young woman of beauty or splendor or brilliance  Mariam is the super talented daughter of the multi-millionaire owner of SIFAX Group, Barrister Taiwo Afolabi, who is also a director at SAHCOL. And to say the truth, the young lady shown like diamond in the sky on the night and got a thousand applauds for her brilliance and talent.

The beautiful show was put together by tiannahstyling owned by serial entrepreneur Toyin Lawani. Who made sure it wasn't just a fashion showcase alone. Loads of entertainment spices were added, that would make many remember the night for a long time to come. There were several musical interludes by various artistes, who all performed admirably. We saw the likes of new kid on the block Dammy Krane, boy wonder WIZKID, L.A.X which is a rap duo led by another one of very the talented kids of Barrister Afolabi, his 1st son in this case. Other's who also performed were Africa's best male vocalist, Wande Coal, Mavin's D'Prince, French speaking bombshell -Ashley Stephanie, who gave a very energetic & erotic performance, & various other upcoming artistes who all gave very good account of themselves. 

The dotting father of the young designer and his very gorgeous wife were the guests of honour, so their friends came out in large number to support, so also were the young friends of the designer, who thronged the place, all looking very stylish. So it was a mix of the old, the not too old and the very excited young and stylish ones. Kudos to the event organizer, Miss Lawani for a good showcase, we must say that the ramp was very well done and the jungle theme was quite a good novelty. Channel O's Denrele Edun was ably supported by Nanya as the show's emcees.
