HOW COME YOUNG MARRIAGES, CELEBRATED WITH SO MUCH POMP, ARE CRUMBLING SO FAST? WHAT'S GOING ON? WHO IS TO BLAME? HUSBAND? WIFE? FAMILY? OR WHAT?

Is it better to remain single or what please is the problem? Is it a problem of liberation or what is it that after all the lavishness of the weddings, the marriage seem to just disintegrate after only a few years! Is it even worth it to be married? Or should we put it another way, are marriages worth all the stress and effort?

Who is to blame? The wife? The husband? Their families? The society? Expectations? Please who or what is it to be blamed? Why can't these young couples weather the storm and rekindle their loves for each other. Or maybe, it wasn't really love in the first instance. Maybe it was all for convenience from the get go!

So is it not better to just be careful, by not lavishing unnecessarily for a wedding ceremony, that would only be for about 2 days at most. Why not put all effort and everything into a marriage rather than all in the wedding party, just to impress those who don't actually give a damn!

Have our values totally gone to the gutters? Do we think or did we think that 2 people coming from totally different backgrounds would just always have it fun and great and good? Can't we ever understand that relationship, marriage is about compromise? We would most definitely piss each other off throughout our lifetime, but that doesn't mean we can't make up and trudge on and make our friendships, relationships, marriages work!

Even if things have totally gone askance, can't we just be very adult about it and for the sakes of many of those involved, by this we mean our children, just work it out even if not as a couple, but as friends, knowing very well that the future state of mind of those kids are determined by us.

Is it a state of pride? My parents, family are better than yours and then expectations skyrockets and in trying to meet up, stress arises and destroys everything!

There are too many examples to point to, where everything was used to have the most lavish and mouth opening wedding ceremonies, only for those marriages contracted to hit the rocks just a few months after!

There is the need for us to sit down and think very well before we take the next steps that can ruin us and take us through hell. Maybe we don't pray enough? But also if we pray and there's no action from us, then it's a problem too!

Maybe those getting wedded needs to be more involved by telling their parents who wants to impress the world to actually cool off!

Many super duper weddings are upcoming for the forthcoming month of April. Why the people have chosen to have their weddings in the April, which is the fourth month we do not know. 


To open the month in one of the weddings that would most likely be one of the nuptial ceremonies of the year, is the wedding of the daughter of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed forces of Nigeria, in the person of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Azikwe Jonathan. 

Come Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 1pm in Otuoke, Bayelsa State of Nigeria. Our beloved President would play host to several State Governors, Ministers, Service Cheifs, Royal fathers, top Government functionaries, Ambassadors, Business Moguls, and top CEOs & Chairmen of Conglomerates and the high society of Nigeria, as he gives out the hand of his daughter Faith Elizabeth Sakwe in marriage (albeit traditional) to Prince Godswill Osim Edward.

The traditional joining together of these 2 hearts to become one, would be at the newly refurbished expansive compound of His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR. Just in case you haven't received the very gorgeous purple invite that has some gold lettering, you can call on Mrs. Yemisi Oyewole at +234  80554..... who is one of the RSVPs. Thereafter the traditional engagement, the couple, family members and friends would now move on to Abuja, the FCT on Saturday, April 12, 2014 to round off the whole ceremonies with a superlative church wedding and grand reception at the International Conference Center, Herbert Macaulay Way, Abuja. We can bet that the President wouldn't spend a Kobo to host a 7-star event as many would fall all over themselves to impress him.

OGUN STATE SET FOR ALH. SALMOT BADRU DAUGHTER'S WEDDING

Come this weekend, Saturday, November 17, 2012 to be precise in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, the town will be agog with felicitations & plenty merriment as many chieftains of the PDP and other top guests will be hosted by the former Deputy Governor of the State, Alhaja Salmot Badru, as she gives her daughter Dr. Faidat Badru away in Holy Matrimony to Prince Wale Oreshade. 

The venue for both the traditional wedding (engagement and things) and the Nikkai is the  Obasanjo Hilltop residence of the bride, in Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State. From what we have come to know, that area of town is the poshest area of town in Abeokuta, where the well to do have turned into the envy of all. Former President, Chief Olusegun Aremu Okikiola Obasanjo, GCFR, is one of the renowned landlords in the area. 

The US based Dr. Faidat Badru, is a UK trained Medical Doctor in her mid-twenties, she moved over to the US after her studies in the UK. She was the best graduating student of her set, and also holds a Masters in Public Health degree. Her husband to be, is a Yoruba Prince, based in Lagos. Prince Adewale Oreshade, is a lawyer by profession & works with Femi Okunnu SAN, CON law chambers, but also a blogger (adewaleoreshade's blog), he is also an Oracle certified associate and an author, one of his books is titled Sad Nectar, while his latest book, titled Poetry of Love, which was launched on November 3, 2012, was inspired and dedicated to the bride. Free copies of the books, would be giving out at the wedding ceremony.

ABDULSALAM & MARYAM BELGORE'S WEDDING CEREMONY. part 1

It was a 4 day extravaganza that the capital city of Ilorin, Kwara State would not forget in a hurry. It was the nuptial ceremony between the first daughter- Maryam of renowned Muslim cleric- His Eminence Sheikh Sulaiman Farooq Onikijipa & one of the sons of the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Retired Chief Justice Alfa Belgore (Abdulsamad Belgore). Many came from far and wide to celebrate with both families. At a point, it was like a carnival had arrived in town. The young and the old, disciples of the well-loved Muslim cleric, top Alfas from far and wide, very gorgeous friends of the bride and her deliciously beautiful younger sister- Iradat, came out in large numbers to celebrate the gorgeous bride.

The first day of the ceremony kicked off with a night totally dedicated to the bride- it was tagged ‘’the bride’s eve’’. It’s a ceremony that is more common in the Northern parts of the country. It is where friends and female members of the family of the bride, gather all night in celebration of the bride, singing and dancing, playing games of all kinds, before the wedding ceremony proper. For many of us, who had not encountered a ceremony like that before, it was a delight to watch. Just imagine, very many gorgeous, young ladies of many complexions, all together at one venue, looking very sweet and very friendly, all having great fun.
