Like you all already know, Sunday, May 27, 2012 is the D-day all roads would be leading to the Harbour Point Event Centre, Wilmot Road, Victoria Island. On that day by 2P.M, what has taken all of 35 years to plan and to make happen would finally be seen by 800 guests only.

Those lucky enough to gather to watch 2 of the biggest musical legends of our time play in the persons of Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey and King Sunny Ade, would be taken way back on the memory lane and brought back to the present, as the 2 masters play together for the very first time in 3 decades and a half and many are already anticipating a magical night of unbelievable experience, expect music at its best, expect the high and mighty, a convergence of the biggest who is who, it would be extraordinary fun at its best. Already the Chief Commander and his mentor- Fatai Rolling Dollar have been practising, and we can tell you for free that what we heard was heavens made.

The main rehearsals would be starting on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, where the dress rehearsals for the show proper would begin, Obey and KSA would rehearse together, all the equipments would be tested, all the technical details would be sorted out to the last T. A pre-event concert would play out; to make sure the main event itself would be hitch free.

And guess what? The organisers have thought to add extra spice(s), so that all who come would have extra value for money spent? A segment of the concert would have 2 of the future legends of music in the persons of the hottest deal right now- Wizkid and the Alapomeji King himself 9ICE doing duets with the 2 Legends. It would be something to behold by all, a blend of the old with the new, it’s most definite that every one's cup of fun would be filled to the brim and over-flowing.
Tickets (Single tickets, family tables of 8 and corporate tables of 8) are presently going like hot cakes; people are calling to buy tickets from as far as Yola, Adamawa State. So if you haven't bought yours yet, you had better do so now. IT'S ALREADY A COUNTDOWN.

IT'S A BENZ FOR OMAWUNMI & A HONDA CRV FOR WAJE. YIPEE!!!!!

Things sure have been on the upward swing for both our ladies, who are both jolly good friends- that's Omawunmi & Waje. While Omawunmi not too long ago gave birth to her bundle of joy and has being in Momma's bliss ever since then. Waje on her part has been enjoying a singing career anew, her hooks on some top songs have gotten her kudos from all and sundry.

Both girls are very close friends and they both just added new automobiles to their garages recently. Omawunmi is said to have taken delivery of a Brand new Gold Mercedes Benz 450GL SUV, a 7 seater family car. While Waje got for herself, a brand new Navy Blue Honda CRV SUV. So congratulations, to the duo.

By the way, Waje has finally finished her first ever body of works, and the tentative date for the album launch is sometime in July, 2012. The album from what we hear is eponymously titled- W.A.J.E & just before the album is out, a new single and video for that single is mostly likely coming out. The album itself is a 12-tracker package and we are so sure it would be a world-class banger!!!.

Date was Saturday, May 12, 2012; Venue was the B'hive, a new first class Crepery/Cafe/Lounge, located at Victoria Arobieke Street, Lekki Phase 1, on the Island. It is owned by one of the most kind-hearted human-beings on the face of the Earth, in the person of Ndidi Anyaehie, a fashion icon par excellence, who also owns the top Lifestyle outfit- Designer's Club; in fact, we hear the store has also moved to the same location, just above B'hive. The event was the birthday celebration of one of our very own, the very delectable and very huggable- Latasha Ngwube.

Latasha needs no introduction, she is ex-ThisDay Style, now of Vanguard Allure, where she is a contributing editor and already many have begun to see her magic wand working out great things at her new work place.

So because she is a jolly good fellow, many friends (older and same age bracket) and a few family members gathered together for a groove to celebrate her. Many that attended confessed that it was a glorious shindig and that they had unrivalled fun.

We were there and we have thought to bring to your viewing pleasure the event in living colours. By the way, we hear the B'Hive has already become the watering hole for the Island's happening crowd.

FLORENCE H SETS TO OPEN BY THE END OF MAY, 2012. MALIKA HAQQ IN TOWN TO HELP WITH HYPE

In case you all might have forgotten, Florence H is the new shoe store that's owned by Abisola Kola-Daisi nee Ajimobi, the first child and by extension the first daughter of the Oyo State Governor- Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

The new, first class shoe haven is located on the Island- Musa Yar' Adua, Victoria Island, it's just next to Carima De Laurent's Nail Place, in fact Carima is Abisola's Landlady and just above the store is Folake Folarin Coker's Tiffany Amber's Flagship. If all things works as planned, the new store should open to customers by the end of this month- May, a bird in the know whispered into our ears that the opening date is most likely any of the last days in May, but knowing Abisola very well, she might change the date again after this expose to try to throw us off.

One major thing that cannot be disputed whatsoever is that the store as it is now is unrivalled by any yet in Lagos, in terms of the interior. The new shoes store used to be the space occupied by Vivienne Chioloji's Pride & Joy a while ago, before she moved to her own place somewhere at Lekki Phase one, where she now operates both her high-end gifts store and a first class salon.

According to those who have had a sneak peek of Abisola's shoe store, they describe the interior as very elegantly sumptuous, extraordinarily appointed and unbelievably beautiful. Imagine covering the walls with suede-like fabrics, in Purple or Burgundy colour, we hear that the place is a feast for the eye, as you enter the first thing that meets the eyes, are these fantastic framed-like openings or cubicles on the wall, where shoes would be displayed, the openings were so exquisitely done, that they can easily deceive the eyes, at first look you would think they are gilt-edged gorgeous frames, till you move near and see that they are real, fabulous looking shoes and mirrors have been placed so elegantly and expertly to cause a mirror-like affect, we also hear that there like 5- gorgeous bird-cages where shoes would be trapped (displayed) for all to see, there are also glass stands on opposite sides that would display some of those first class shoe brands worn by ladies of style- the Christian Louboutins (don't worry, she didn't get the franchise), Rene Caovilas, Guiseppe Zanottis, Hermes, most probably Roger Viviers and the likes.

We hear the unbelievably gorgeous store was designed from carcass by one of the most gifted interior geniuses in Lagos- Saheed Sulaiman of Studio Sulaiman, who from the little snippets we are getting is ranked as one of the world acclaimed, young interior designer of note, he moved back to Nigeria not long ago.

We even heard that Abisola's dad, His Excellency himself gave nods of approval and thumbs-up on sighting the daughter's store. So friends, family members and customers alike are all eagerly awaiting the opening. Trust Abisola, who revels in media attention so much, she has brought in her American celeb friend- Malika Haqq,- Actress, Television Personality who is also Khloe Kardashian Odom's best friend forever, you would have seen her on episodes of Keeping up with the Kardashians, Khloe & Lamar and Kourtney & Khloe take Miami. We hear (though not confirmed) that Malika would be around for like a month as part of 'the package' to help drive attention towards the shoes store. Don't be suprised if more of Abisola's American posse all come to Lagos, Nigeria one after the other. It's all part of the package.

Gaiety has found a home in the abode of the Shagaya's and by extension the Tukur's. Allah the giver of all things great, good and wonderful visited the home of Sheriff , one of the adorable sons of Hajia Bola Shagaya and his wife Mariam nee Bamanga Tukur, (the dad is the current Chairman of the PDP), and on His way back to His abode left a mark of Joy with the couple-A bouncing baby boy.

The elated couple would be naming their bundle of joy this weekend in London, England. So London would experience merry-making a la the Shagaya's and the Tukur's. We hear family members and friends would converge this weekend to celebrate with the couple. A bird even whispered that the First lady is very likely to be at the naming. This is Hajia Bola Shagaya's 1st grand-child, so you all now understand the reason for the merrymaking.

Sheriff married the love of his wife Mariam, in 2010 in what some have tagged one of the biggest weddings of the year, and just a year and half later on, Allah has blessed them with a son.

A very big congratulation to the new dad & mom on their bundle of joy,may the happiness continually roll in.

If what we hear is to be believed, there is the possibility that top Nollywood actress and producer- Uche Jombo might have discarded the toga of a spinster and may have had a quiet nuptial in faraway New York, United States of America very recently.

According to the report the lucky dude is a full-blown American- name is Rodriguez and the so called relationship is said to have been on for quite a while now, though under the radar. As to the identity of the dude, we are still investigating. We tried to contact the gorgeous actress to ascertain for a fact the rumour.  We sent a message that read thus-

''Hello dear, congratulations oooooo heard you just got married in America''. When she replied, she just sent a smiling face emoticon. This neither confirms nor denied the rumoured wedding.

It has been a fantastic couple of years so far for the Mathematics and Statistics graduate of the University of Calabar, who also has a degree in Computer Programming from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State. 2 of the last films she has produced have garnered major appeal and stamped her as a Nollywood Power-house.

Funke Akindele is undoubtedly one of Nigeria's most loved Nollywood actresses, she especially endeared herself to many with her portrayal of the hilarious wannabe in Jenifa and the Return of Jenifa. Some have also gone on to say that the film is one of the highest selling Nigerian films of all time.

 That's not news, what's news is that another Nollywood wedding is in the offing. Apparently some have made up their minds that 2012 would not pass them by. So come Saturday, May 26, 2012, the deliciously sweet and very well-mannered actress would be getting married, although it would be the engagement and traditional wedding in May, the white wedding would be upcoming at a date in December of 2012.

And who is the lucky dude? His name from our findings is- Kehinde Oloyede, a Nollywood outsider, said to be in his 40's. The actress and her dude her said to have been dating for quite a while now and only just decided to formalise their relationship very recently, he is said to be into Property and Estate Management and has done very well for himself.

Olufunke Ayotunde Akindele, who by Saturday, May 26, 2012 would have become Mrs Kehinde Oloyede, would be 36 years old this year, born August 24, 1976 in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

It was a full house on Sunday the 6^th of May at the maiden edition of Just Joking with Wale Gates which held at the Catford Broadway Theatre, London. Seasoned comics who performed on the night included Basorge Tariah, Jedi, Teju Babyface, Koffi and event host Wale Gates. The sold out event also featured rising rnb star Michael Word who performed some of his songs.

“I was pleasantly surprised to see a packed house and I’m immensely grateful to my fans and comedian friends who came out to support me. I can’t wait for next years edition.” said an excited Wale Gates.

A host of UK based comedians also got the audience in stitches – Obonjo, Akpos, Sam Wakabout, Funny Ade and Snatcher. Saxophonist Wale Great set the mood and DJ’s Abass, Bigyem, Davy Diamond, Whateva and Archyra rocked the house during intervals.
