 The grand boss of the boys in Bayelsa, His royally pardoned one- Chief Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieyesiegha has been enjoying a new lease of life since after his pardon by the FG. It's like he goes out more openly now, unlike before and why would he not? If you were the one declared a criminal before and the boss now declares you okay after-all wouldn't  you now flaunt your new found stamp of approval?

The Tiger of Bayelsa was one of the special guests of honour at the birthday celebration of one of Nigeria's best comics, in the person of Julius 'the genius' Agwu very recently, where we heard it was a case of Naira rain for the birthday boy, who also used the occasion to launch a book about himself titled ''Jokes Apa RT''. 

We heard, though not confirmed, that one of those who made the day very memorable for the birthday boy was Chief Alams like many like to call. A bird whispered into our ears that the former Governor quietly donated a 'paltry' sum of 3 Million Naira as his own contribution on that day.

Who says the boss is broke? He is most definitely not.

 It's none other than Ghanaian bombshell actress Yvonne Nelson. We ran into the gorgeous actress, who would have made a good success at being a model or a beauty queen had she chosen alternative career choice by chance some days back. 

She was part of the cast of a new production owned and executive produced by one of Nigeria's top actresses, in the person of Rukky Sanda. They were recording a restaurant scene, 2 of the other cast members were Alex Ekubo and Rukky Sanda. We also saw Tana Olulana & Venita Marie-Akpofure at the location. Though we did't know if the latter 2 were part of the production, all the same they all left together for another location.

Truth be told, Yvonne fine no be small oooooo and in a very natural way at that, devoid of all the ''creaming & toning'' and things, which is what 50% of her colleagues in the industry are into now.

LAOLU & CAROLINA SARAKI IN EXPECTANT MOOD....

 When Laolu was still a bachelor he was a man that blazed many trails. But gone are those days of unbridled fun, since he got married sometime ago; The handsome dude has taken to being married like fish in it's right habitat. The man who many gorgeous ladies would have loved to call theirs, went very far away to pick his better half, thereby disappointing not a few who had hoped beyond hope.

The good news we are hearing from the household of the young couple is that his delightsomely gorgeous Spanish wife, Carolina is presently on the 9 months course and that very soon the tiny voice of a new born baby would be filling the couples abode. Expectant dad we hear is already on cloud nine with joy. This joyous news is coming just about 2 years after the couple got married.

The families on both sides are already counting the weeks before the delivery of their new bundle of joy; who if a boy might be named Babatunde.........Saraki.

VAVA VOOM PICTURE OF THE DAY

We don't know who she is, but we were completely mesmerized by her style. It takes major confidence for anyone to leave home dressed like this. We must commend her for being the most confident lady around for this her daring outfit. The beauty of it all is that, she's got the asset to flaunt it, so why not wear what can accentuate all the supernatural packages and assets. 

She's made us to understand that style is majorly about confidence, knowing what suits one and going for it, not minding whose ox is gored. 

For sheer confidence and 'funstastic' fashion sense we give her A1 plus. Those 'poppers' are not from here at all and for that too, we give her triple A plus. Her tailor must have graduated from the Parsons school of fashion, just check out that peek-a-boo and those burgundy gemstones so very well-arranged for maximum effect. It's either that part was deliberately torn by hand or that the sheer power of her poppers tore it. Either way, the pair or the cleavage is a sure eye candy.

So sorry that we have been away for a while, it was due to some little technical issues. Now we are back and really on the grind. A few weeks ago, one Nigeria's most prominent and most consistent actors in the person of the one and only 'Jim Iyke' had the launch of his new reality show produced by AfricaMagic entertainment. 

The venue of the launch was the FourPoints By Sheraton Lagos. We were there to cover the happenstances. If the snippets of the show we watched was anything to go by, we believe this might be one of the most successful reality series so far. It was vintage Jim Iyke in your face, like never seen before. Just like the man of the hour said when he was called to give a little insight into what we are to expect, ''he said it was for the viewing public to get to know him more, have a peek into his life and lifestyle and all he is about''. He went on to say, ''People should watch, with an open mind and not pre-judge him because of what has been said or created about his persona.

A few of his colleagues and others were on hand to support. KAKADU....THE FUNTASTIC MUSICAL. SET FOR THE MONTH OF MAY 2013

We had an unbelievably glorious and heavenly experience a few weeks ago. It was our first experience attending a musical. And if the 10 minutes experience (snippet) we had, is a pointer to the full experience, then we believe all those who would attend at the end of the different shows slated for the whole of May 2013, would and must give standing ovations. 

Kakadu...the musical,''Lagos in the time of infinite possibilities'' is the first indigenous Dance, Drama & Musical production in Nigeria. For one to better appreciate what we are talking about, we need to give a little brief of what Kakadu itself represents.  

Kakadu Club was the watering hole of the happening crowds of the late 60's entering into the early 70's. It was the convergence point for the artists, the 'intellectuals', fun-seekers of that time, when Lagos was just evolving. It was the epicenter of the social happening of that time. It was significant then, in that it mirrored the then emerging society, Nigeria had gotten independence not too long then from her colonial masters and many were looking forward to the emergence of a great black nation, full of hope and unbelievable promises. Hope for what was going to emerge was high, the then Lagos, though still emerging was very safe and great fun, everyone went about their chores and businesses with glorious determination. Then like a bolt out of the blue, the coup happened and it was like a canker-worm had been introduced and it was like the progress expected    met a brick-wall of resistance, before anyone knew what was happening the civil war too happened and from then on........Strife, discord, distrust etc came on board and marred our hope and existence. 

What Kakadu...the musical aims to do with this unbelievably exhilarating and glorious drama, dance and musical, is to help transport us back to the days of yore, looking back at how it used to be, taking us through the fun, the raw energy of the music of those days-the twist, the high life, the rock 'n'roll etc, when hope for and about the future was high on every one's mind, it was like there were things to look forward to and the gradual progression and decay bringing us to now. It aims to get all of us thinking about the project called Nigeria and our involvement. It tries to highlight all the happenstances of the days of yore.....Especially the military incursion of the 60's and it effect thereafter on the polity. From a state of affairs, where things were nice, beautiful and everyone was each others brother's keeper...to state of suspicions, strife , etc. From then on to how we are now. 

The 10 minutes rehearsal or should we call it snippet of the main production that we saw, was so great that we were transfixed, the casts and the crew were nothing short of brilliant. What would one have expected of the casts & crew that had the likes of consummate actors Norbert Young & Tina Mba, Benneth Ogbewui- his voice is out of the world, Lala Akindoju, Kanayo Omoh-The Director of the play etc. The musical was written by a fantastic human-being in the person of Mr. Uche Nwokedi, SAN, who is also the Executive producer,  his gorgeous wife Winifred Nwokedi, is one of the directors at Playhouse Initiative, who are the producers of the musical. 

The major reason for the musical and at this time, is because, it's the production company own way of helping to make our experience or memory matter, and that's because the past is always of value to the present and the future. It's also an opportunity for an audience that loves entertainment, to love, to share and to embrace part of their experience, especially their history, so as to help look at the future in the proper perspective. An experience that would help allow people to ask the right questions and at the right time.

 All those who attended have had glowing reviews to give about this concert. Nearly everyone that commented said it was a very well package thing and that Omawumi has evolved and has become the lord of her craft & that she gave a very wonderful performance. So also did all her guest artistes.  So we commend her and her management for a job well done. Concert was a few weeks ago and it was at the new hall of the Oriental Hotel. They say the new hall of the on going extension is much more bigger than the old one and a bit classier: that might just be so, because it's still relatively new. 

Many attended the concert, we even saw former top militant, General Boyloaf in the crowd and so many other guests. In this post, we have for you the out and about and also the style coverage at the event. As always Nigerians seem to wait for these events so as to bring out their garbs from their very full wardrobes, for show-off.

MEET NIGERIA'S HOTTEST VIDEO VIXEN- VENITA MARIE AKPOFURE

 Her name is Venita Marie Akpofure. She used to be UK based, Manchester, UK to be more precise and said to be in her early 20's. The big eye ball, beauty is the hottest video vixen in the country so far. She was the dance maven in P Square's ''Alingo'' video, Tuface's Ihe ne me video, she was also in AY comedy skit that also featured Chris Attoh & she was also in Skale's Mukulu, amongst several works. She also models part time.

So in demand and 'highly connected' is this beauty, that we hear many legends have been spoken about her by very many. Some of those we hear she is connected to or that are her important friends are the likes of  Adams, Wale T, ....Kid, ...W, and very many others. 

According to some of her good friends, they say she's a very nice person, with a very friendly personalty. Who makes friends quite easily. Some attribute her quick rise in the music industry to her ever friendly disposition and her unbelievable generosity and her aptitude for hard work. We hear things have paid up for her in such a short period of time, she rides her own machine now and is leaving in a nice apartment on the Island. Some her even speculating that her creativity might lead her into the Nollywood scene. And judging by her antecedence, she might soon take over that world too like a colossus.

WHERE IS MANDY?

At a point in the music industry, the name Mandy or should we say Amanda Mandy Nita was hot hot. This deliciously stunning, young damsel at a point was the most sought after video vixen in the industry or better put, on the Nigerian music scene. Many would not forget in a hurry, the mermaid like emergence from the waters on the video of D banj's mega-hit single- Suddenly. The voluptuous one in that stunning scene, just popped out of the water, all wet and magnificently sexy! Many after that video felt, she was on her way to super-stardom. She was seen everywhere with her group of friends, always having a good time. 

Apart from being a video vixen, she was also known to be a lingerie model and we had seen her a couple of times, strutting her stuff in next to nothing. One thing about her then, that was easily noticeable was that she always enjoyed the attention. She didn't mind  being the center of attraction. At a time we heard she was an undergraduate of the Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State, a private university in that part of Nigeria.

But just as suddenly as she appeared like a bolt out of the blues and was the center of attention or should we say attraction, she seem to have disappeared suddenly into oblivion. For someone who with her many friends were party lovers and used to be everywhere, to suddenly go undercover, it makes one to ask the question. Where is Mandy? And what has she been up to?

We have observed his Excellency, the Governor of the very oil rich state of Rivers over time and we can attest to the fact that he loves to stand out. Fashion-wise, over the course of time, we have noticed that he loves to take risks, it is obvious that he is a young man at heart and if you have the wherewithal to afford those things that stands one out, then why not get them. We have seen a few things by Billionaire Couture, where Angelo Galasso used to reign supreme on our beloved Governor a few times. We are not too sure, but we also think he has a few things by Angela Galasso now that the designer is back on his own.  Apart from this particular brand, we have seen a few other brands on him. The beauty of it majorly is that he wears the clothes (ensembles) and not the other way round, like some people.

Some have come to say that a complete style man is fully clothed when he has on all his ensemble with a tie. Though we agree to a certain extent. That cannot be the full determinant of who a man of style is, tie or no tie, how the man combines, how fitted the ensemble is, the overall appearance must be main consideration. It's also not just about dressing western alone, it's also about wearing one's native attires and still looking great.

All of the times, we have encountered the Governor of Rivers, in the person of Rotimi Amaechi, he has always impressed us. And just like someone said sometime ago about style, it is about the totality of the package. Not just about one thing. Even his excellency's private jet (said to be owned by the Government of Rivers State) screams of class. Check out his excellency at the 40th birthday celebration of Julius Agwu. His whole ensemble spoke of class and panache, it's either he has style himself or his wardrobe manager knows his onions. White Shirt, atop a sparkling white trouser and the white Gucci belt with the gold buckle and a cream jacket and those funky red shoes were a stunner!

We absolutely love Nigerians, both male & female for never being shy at any point in time to showcase how they feel inside. Style we have come to define is the expression of your inner confidence. You can only showcase how you feel inside, like some have said, if you don't have it you can't express. 

We saw a lot of fun expression for you viewing delight from the AY showcase. So rather than say it was a few weeks ago. We just thought it was better late than never. See how very many translate style or should we just say fashion.

The comedy show itself from what we gathered was another fantastic success, at least if one had to judge by the number of those who attended the show. Pretty soon AY might be adding another machine to his growing garage.

BEYONCE SET TO DAZZLE AT MRS CARTER WORLD TOUR

 People should get readyyyyyyy to rumble as Mrs Carter, the former Beyonce Knowles, who over the years has established herself as one of the premier performers on stage is set to dazzle all on the occasion of her world tour. 

Starting from last nite, Beyonce 31, and mother of one got every tongue wagging with her choice of costumes for the world tour, which began in Belgrade, Serbia. The first costume of choice was sexy in an outrageous way. It was a gold sequined bodysuit, with faux breasts, showing very ripe nipples set to pop! 

The performer par excellence made sure to get a pot-pourri of great designers to put together a WOW collection, as she tours Europe & later North America. Some of those creative egg heads that we heard put together the collection were Emilio Pucci's Peter Dundas, Julien MacDonald, the duo of Twin creative giants Dean & Dan Caten of D-Squared fame. Normally Tina Knowles, Beyonce's mom, used to sort out her dress collection, but she seems to have allowed a wider range of designers this time around.  We also heard that world renowned shoe-maker, the very famous Stuart Weizman has sorted out the entirety of Ms Carter's shoe collection for the World Tour. The tour itself should be reaching its climax by the end of August of 2013. It would cover Europe & North America.

THE GRAND-OPENING OF BAZAAR RESTAURANT

We already told you so much about the restaurant in our previous report. In this report we just want to show to you all the pictures of the grand-opening which took place on Saturday, March 30, 2013. 

By all standards it was a grand-opening. The food was super fantastic as usual. The invited guests were top notch and it includes the publisher of ThisDay Newspapers and founder of AriseTv, Prince Nduka Obaigbena, Ambassador Greg Mbadiwe, Anselm Tabansi, Ex-Governor of Abia State, Dr Orji Uzor-Kalu, Olisa Adibua, Nikky Ogbuefi and very many others. 

Jyoti & Kiran as usual were perfect hostesses, looking as gloriously stylish as usual . It was a nice opening. The restaurant which does a fusion of the best of the local cuisine mixed with the best from other parts of the world, like Thai, Mexican, Italian & Indian food is already becoming the place to be at. It sits 62 at a go and is ideal for private parties, business luncheons and meetings etc.  While Kiran the younger of the sisters is the house chef, Jyoti M, is in charge of the management and finances. The sisters are style mavens of the highest order.
