Someone should please sound the alarm! Someone should please go to the mountain top to shout it out. Who can one report this present Government to? How could they have stopped the shine of a man who was like the virgin bride everyone wanted to court then? What kind of a kill joy are you??

During the days of the Goodluck Jonathan administration, the name Jide Omokore, the Kogi billionaire was a virtual door opener anywhere.. This billionaire rode the waves admiration like a colossus. Not many wealthy men were in his category or class as he was in a Liga all by himself. His legend preceded him. And it wasn't just in Nigeria alone then. The UAE, the USA & other countries of the world took notice and ate from his palm. He and his super close friend, the other stupendously wealthy dude by name Kola ALUKO, the only blackman to have owned a 100M rated luxury yatch, were unmatchable then. These 2 controlled private jets like it was a bus to carry people around from place to place. Even those who had made billions before them, couldn't match these duo's razzmatazz and effect. In fact many of the wealthy then, took back seats and were watching the new blockbuster epic that was rolling then. These 2 new kids on the block were the ones reigning, so all others had to take notice & learn by example. The duo knew the color of money inside out very well. They had enslaved & lassoed money into submission and they knew its secrets and how to send it on errands. Money in all its grace, glory and height, knew who was its boss. The kind of gifts that Mr. Omokore gave out then to those around him were staggering to say the least. That particular legend we cannot just talk about. We used to know a lawyer that worked for him, whose favorite car amongst several other super cars he owns, was a Rolls Royce, a stunning blue one in fact. This person's home inside Nicon Estate then was a statement in class and distinction.

At the height of Mr. Omokore's reign then, before this crazy time of forced quietude, his SPOG Petrochemicals, one of the companies under his control was a major beehive of activities. It was one of the major companies then that people wanted to be identified with. That same brand like its boss has gone deathly quiet too, unlike how it used to be.

We would never ever forget how for a few days, years back, Mr. Omokore literally nearly took over Dubai. That oil rich Emirate that is a tourist haven felt the power of the Nigerian billionaire in an awesome way, when his 1st son married the daughter of the man then in charge of one of the richest government parastatals. The number of private jets that ferried people to and fro Dubai for that wedding of the season was unprecedented. Dubai knew some major African heavyweights landed in town  that week. The number of ministers or better still Government officials, plus royal fathers and other guests that attended was unbelievable. The gifts that those privileged to attend got were unmatchable till date.

But just as suddenly like a bolt out of the blues that he emerged on the scene and razzled-dazzled all comers, this man of immense means just also so suddenly receded into his anonymous cocoon. Is it that he is not as fiendishly wealthy as he used to be again? How could this Government have so stifled a super generous billionaire like Uncle Jide? Why hound the gentleman into a cave like he is comatose? In fact, what is wrong with this administration? 

WHERE IS THE GREAT JIDE OMOKORE?

The man affectionately referred then to as the "godfather", the "moneybag of moneybags", the "blesser of people" (this man's gifts to those he is pleased with her legendary), the one who taught many wealthy men how to enjoy and spend money or how to put good money, immense amount of money at that to extraordinary use, the good friend and partner of the nouveau rich man par excellence, the 'extra terrestrial Kola Aluko" the one we would love to refer to as the "the lord of money", the ultimate wealthy man who many many legends were spawned around, seems to have disappeared into thin air.  Gone are the days when no week goes by that one wouldn't have heard something extraordinary about him. He seems to have gone into oblivion!!!! This was one of the few that even Forbes magazine described as "Top 10 Nigerian multimillionaires you have never heard of".

Even the well known brand SPOG Petrochemical, one of the best known out of the severals of the brands he owns and used to control has gone totally quiet too! Unlike in the heydays, no week goes by without hearing SPOG this, SPOG that!

In fact, even his wife, Angela the "thorough bred professional" who at a time some speculated should have taken over at Access Bank as the CEO (she was a director at the bank at a point) has gone totally off the radar too, living a more quiet existence. Gone seemingly are those days, when things used to standstill in deference to this gorgeous lady known to be a "finicky shopper & privileged shopper", the legend then was that even Selfridges and Harrods recognised her and that Chanel knew her as a preferred client!

At the height of the prestige and benevolence of Chief/Otunba Jide Omokore, the billionaire from Kogi State (from Isanlu town, the HQ of Yagba LGA), the man literally and single handedly delivered one of the most expensive and most spoken about weddings in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates that got tongue wagging for several weeks. The opulence of the wedding was so humongous, it was staggering. It was speculated then that the wedding could conservatively have cost the moneybag about $8 million dollars! That amount in today's Naira value would have been around ₦2.9billion Naira! His in-law was the then Permanent Secretary Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

Many of our then top politicians, serving government functionaries (state & federal), state Governors, royal fathers, top business owners fell over themselves to attend the "then destination wedding of the year", which even the Arabs saluted as a "sheer display of availability of extraordinary resources".

Imagine that the number of private jets and chartered flights that landed in Dubai at that time from Nigeria and from other guests that came from around the world, was so extraordinary, it was staggering. The play by play of that wedding report is still one of the most well read on this platform till tomorrow.

Imagine a pre-wedding shindig that was at the legendary "Cavalli Club Dubai" and everything was said to have been literally "on the house"! Even Wizkid, Naeto C, Deejay Jimmy Jatt and other artistes/entertainers were flown in to perform, including Godbless & the Eboni band! The weekends of June 7th to the 9th of 2013 was colossal by all standards then.

Guests that were lucky to have entered the JW Marriott Marquis the venue of the wedding, where 2 floors were completely taken over went home with the best phone as at that time, BB Q10, a complete teaser, B&Q sound system speakers, super luxury towel set, Samsung Galaxy tabs etc!

So now just imagine a man with the kind of resume we have painted above all of a sudden going totally quiet and incognito just as soon as this present administration came on board! Mennnnnnn PMB has obviously stopped a lot of those things that used to keep us titillated!

SKYE BANK GOES AFTER JIDE OMOKORE WITH GUN BLAZING

It's definitely not the very best of time for this rich colossus. We are too sure that if he had his way, he would have wished the avalanche of happenstances of recent would have befallen an enemy rather than himself. All of the staggering revelations have been totally embarrassing to say the least.

It has been one battle after the other for him, his companies and some of the people connected to him. These battles as they are, are all coming from all sides of the world. And as it seems now, there are no signs they are abating any time soon.

As we speak now, his current travail is coming from his friend's bank, that is Skye Bank PLC, where Tokunbo Abiru, him being the former ED at First Bank PLC (where Omokore is also said to have gotten another ₦120 billion unresponsive loan) is now the GMD/CEO of Skye Bank PLC.

Jide Omokore's current quagmire arose from the "₦110 billion unresponsive loan", he had gotten from the bank which has Lagos State Government of Nigeria as the highest shareholder. The chairman of SPOG petrochemicals amongst several other companies had gotten the loans via 3 of his business concerns namely, Atlantic Energy Drilling Concepts-₦56 billion, Cedar Oil and Gas Ltd- ₦22.4 billion and Real Bank Ltd- ₦31 billion.

It's most definitely not the best of times for these duo of very very liquid fellow and their best friend in the persons of Kolawole Akanni Aluko, OlaJide Omokore and by extension Diezani Allison-Madueke as the searchlight of the US Government has somehow caught up with them.

Except they can come up with some extraordinary arguments via their lawyers to stop the big hammer that is coming down on them, they are on their way to losing many of their very prized assets or possession, chief of which is that humongous and awesomely beautiful luxury boat owned by Mr. ALUKO, named the Galactica Star rated at about $80 million dollars and also a $50 million dollars rated condominium in Manhattan's 157W 57th Street, New York amongst others.

At the height of their reign as very big boys before what they would now term this unnecessary and irresponsible scrutiny, both very very liquid men apparently went haywire on a buying binge, picking up exclusive properties and assets here and there all over the world as they deemed okay.

Imagine that Kola's luxurious yacht is rated as one of the most expensive in the world, it rates on the list as one of the top 40 most luxurious and expensive yacht. It was seen and acknowledged then as the height of saying "see me I have arrived and I own the world". Kola's acquisitions wasn't limited to just that; this friend of Naomi Campbell, P Diddy and the likes also owned some of the best and most expensive properties money could acquire around the world, same as the more quiet but also asset loving Jide Omokore. Kola's LA home is humongous and one of the very best money could have acquired.

Now that the "Kleptocracy Asset Recovery Initiative", a searchlight initiative of the US Government to seize any alleged proceeds of corruption has beemed her light on some of these valued assets valued at about $144 million dollars, except both men can legitimately explain how they came about the funds to buy most of things, they are likely to forfeit them.

NO CAUSE FOR ALARM. JIDE OMOKORE IS A-CLASS OKAY

Contrary to the tales flying around about the health of the magnate that many have come to refer to as the leader, or most often the grandmaster, he is hale and hearty. 

The unfounded tale had it that the energy mogul had suffered a heart attack in Abuja, the FCT shortly after meeting with Mr. President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. 

But in apparent disgust and disbelief at the news and those carrying such tales, he is said to have spoken exclusively to The Will online at his Ikoyi home via a conference call dismissing the news as utter falsehood. 

The report was totally dismissed by the oil magnate. ''The report is utter nonsense'' ''I have never suffered a heart attack. I am in my house in Ikoyi. I am a normal person. I am hale and hearty. The last time I visited the hospital was for a pain in my back. I haven't been to Abuja in over a month, so I don't know where they are getting these lies from.

Jide Omokore is the Chairman of Atlantic Energy and one of the top top 10 richest Nigerians in the world. One of his companies is SPOG Petrochemicals Nigeria Limited, one of the companies or brands under the Energy Resources Group amongst several others. The group's annual turnover is said to be around $400 million.

ANGELA EBAGUA & HER DOTING STEP-SON

Many are still talking about this wedding everywhere. It is one wedding that would not be forgotten in a hurry for a while to come. So opulent it was, that it would take a while for any wedding to match it, in terms of expenses and opulence. But that's not what this is all about. 

Many had wondered aloud, on how come the mother of the groom's presence was not felt in any way at her son's nuptial ceremony. The way it is, is that the wedding day is one of the happiest moments of any mom & dad's life. So many had expected that since the boy getting married is not the child of the wife presently at home, it's one opportunity for the estranged lady to shine and revel in her son's happy day. But alas! Tosin mother was nowhere near the venue of the ceremony, she wasn't even in Dubai, the UAE in any capacity. 

Why? We do not know. But what we can tell you all for a fact is that, Tosin's step-mom, the gorgeous heart-beat of Otunba Jide Omokore, in the person of Angela Ebagua , was very prominent at the wedding. In fact, she stood in very well as the mother of the groom. This we hear was the case because she and the groom have a fantastic relationship, based on mutual respect and admiration.

No wonder madam went to Dubai with a fully loaded Private Jet carrying friends and well-wishers. The pj we hear belongs to her and not even her husband, who we hear owns like 4.

Can it be true? If it is then, it's just a little snag for the father of the newly married Faizer Omokore. The speculation is that, it is because of the lavishness of the daughter's wedding that the permanent secretary at the Ministry of Petroleum Resources has been removed and is ready to be redeployed. Sequel to the removal from his post, a director in the ministry has been directed to take over as acting PS immediately.
