NIGERIA SET TO HOST THE 2ND AFRICA FASHION RECEPTION

After the official launch of the Africa Fashion Reception in Paris last year, The Nigerian government through the Federal Ministry of Tourism, Culture & National Orientation would host the 2014 African edition of the event in the beautiful city of Abuja 3^rd – 5^th July at the International Conference Centre. The event which is organized in collaboration with the World Fashion Organization promises to be the biggest fashion event on the African continent. Branzuk Gold Limited has the event’s franchise in Nigeria as the local organizer.

The Abuja event will gather fashion Icons, First Ladies, Ambassadors and media from over 40 African countries, in a celebration of cultural diversity expressed through the artistic fashion discipline with the proud theme ‘Africa is the new inspiration of global fashion’

Remember the lady behind the COZA pastor's case that caused a lot of uproar last year? Yeh! yea!! Ese Walters. Yes same one, she got married to her heartthrob Benny Ark on Saturday, just a day after Valentine's day. 


Ese if you all remember very well, was the lady that spilled the beans about her alleged sexcapades with the head Pastor of COZA (Commonwealth of Zion Assembly), Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo last quarter of 2013, sometime in August to be more precise. The lady had no restraint in throwing open the whole can of worms. 

Now just 7 months after the whole hullabaloo, though that has been swept under the carpet, remember Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo had said the church was going to come out with a 'very robust' response' which up till date has not materialize, the lady at the center of the storm and her boo got married at a courthouse in Abuja on Saturday, February 15, 2014. Benny Ark is an OAP with COOL FM.

FASHIONISTAS IN NIGERIA EAGERLY AWAITS THE COMING OF WALID ATALLAH

The name Walid Atallah is synonymous with opulence, extravagance and the most gorgeous kind of fashion. He is most often described in the fashion media world as the designer to the royals and even amongst his own ilk as one of the most creative designer in the world. He loves to fuse his creations with extraordinary elements like chunks of gold, precious stones like diamonds, emeralds, silver and gold threads and so much more, making the final creation like the stuff angels wear. For those who do not know, angels most especially the higher ones like the cherubs and seraphs are all made from the most glorious of precious stones.

Imagine a wedding dress costing as much as $1.2 million dollars for starters. This kind can only be worn be the super-super rich. According to our findings, the revered Lebanon born designer has a clientele in the Northern parts of Nigeria that reads like a virtual who-is-who. We heard that the super stylish Aisha Achimugu is an unrepentant customer just like another top lady, who used to be a Senator at one point, even the publisher of Maktoub Lifestyle magazine, the delectably gorgeous and stupendously stylish Mariam Mohammed is hooked on the label. 

By virtue of the fact that he already has loads and loads of Nigerian fashionistas who love his creation to bits, we hear that a lifestyle store that would be stocking Walid's creation is already in the offing and it would be based in Abuja, the FCT. This proposed world class outlet is being facilitated by the company owned by his public relations person, Mariam Mohammed.

TOP LAGOS STORE OWNER/SOCIALITE EMBARRASSED BY TOP PARTY CHIEFTAIN OVER UNSAVOURY ALLEGATION (MAESTRO'S EXCLUSIVE)

Sunday, October 6, 2013 in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory at the residence of the embattled chieftain of the biggest political party in Africa on Adetokunbo Ademola street, Wuse II, was the venue as a mild drama played out, that would have rivaled any play acted or produced in Nollywood. It was like one of the scenes in a Nollywood movie.

The house we are talking about is the magnificent edifice on the street we have mentioned above, it's a white mansion on a very large expanse of land, built in the Spanish style. We can only describe it as a glorious edifice fit for a king.  Apart from the massive main building with the pink or is it red roof, there's the guest house at the front immediately you enter the expansive compound and thereafter the main building. At the back away a bit from the main is the BQ. This palatial edifice like we already said is owned by the boss of the so called biggest party in Africa, who is doing his utmost best at the very moment to contain a breakaway that has happened and might cost him his high-powered post. An Embassy is situated next to the building. In the beautiful compound are various exotic birds & animals like Ostriches, Gazelles, Antelopes, Parrots & Peacocks. We even heard that a Lion might be joining sometime soon.

Apparently the wedding Fatiha train began yesterday, Friday, September 13, 2013. While most people were thinking the event was all of today, Saturday, September, 2013 some major part of the 2 days event took place yesterday. Prior to this week there had been the bridal party though.

Check out below the programme of event of the Nikah ceremony between the Inspector General of Police and his beloved Zarah as it happened yesterday Friday, September 13, 2013. 

Dila & Nalla (Bride had her henna done, which is the body decoration common amongst the Northerners & some other tribes round the world, amidst drumming etc)- 11:00 am - 12 noon.

Walima (a wedding reception after the Nikah, where Islamic preaching about women's role in Islam is mostly done) -  2:00pm  - 5pm (venue-ThisDay Dome)

Wushe Wushe -(the Cultural night, here the dress code for the bridesmaids was blue & black Wagambari)-8:30 pm (venue-ThisDay Dome)

Dress Code was- White Laffaya/veil, which was for the mothers & sisters and most guests.

Then the Programme of event for today, Saturday, September 14, 2013 goes as follows:

Kalatul (Bridal Hair Wash)- 11 am.

Kususuram(Exchange of Gift/Lete-this is the suitcases of clothes, shoes etc presented to the wife (the friends & some family members would collect and check out the gifts)- 2:00 pm.

Fero Zayeta/ Kalawa/ Presentation of bride in Cultural Attire. Here she would wear gorgeous Kanuri attire and with plenty of Gold as a show-off - 5:00pm.

Fero Gota (Conveyance of bride to her new home)- 6:00pm.

So as we speak now. The Bridal Hair Washing is on going. 

There would be an exclusive Dinner later on tonight at the International Conference Center, Abuja after all the traditional wedding rite must have ended. The wedding photographer we hear is the one & only Kelechi Amadi-Obi, while the day's MC is the Julius 'the Genius' Agwu.

IG OF POLICE MOHAMMED DAHIRU ABUBAKAR WEDS ZAHRA BUNU-SHERIFF MUSA TOMORROW

Come tomorrow, Saturday, September 14, 2013 in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, the city would be agog, as all roads would be leading to the venue of choice to be at, which is. The This Day Dome, Abuja for the wedding between the handsome Inspector General of the Nigerian Police, IG Mohammed Abubakar, 53 and his jewel of inestimable value, the very gorgeous Zahra Bunu-Sheriff Musa, who is the 35 year old daughter of the former Nigerian Ambassador to France and a former Minister holding different portfolios at different times in the Federal Executive Council in Nigeria. Her name Zahra in Arabic means Brilliant or Bright.


Though security would be very very tight, as it is the Inspector General of the Nigerian Police himself getting wedded, we expect that Abuja's finest & the creme de la creme of the Nigerian society would show face to celebrate with the gentleman & his wife at the Nikah ceremony. We hear Zahra is a very close friend of Alhaji Aliko Dangote's daughter Halima.
Obviously because of the caliber of the person involved in the wedding and to avoid any sort of  hanky-panky, expect that at least a kilometer or even a mile radius around the venue of the event would be cordoned off and security would be top notch. It is a strictly by invitation event, so if you don't have any business in that area, you had better not show face or be seen in the vicinity. We expect the all mighty and no nonsense mobile police force men in their full riot regalia to be present.

After the solemnization (in this case the Nikah and the Fatiha) and some form of merriment at the ThisDay Dome, the newly wedded couple from our little findings would later host some friends and family members to an exclusive thank you dinner at the International Conference Center, Abuja in the evening of that same day. From what we have heard, it's another not all comers event. The day's MC is none other than the always dapper Julius 'the genius' Agwu. 

Alhaji Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar, our highly cerebral IG is embracing matrimony a second time around, after the terrible hand of death, had taken his beloved first wife away sometime in 2012 after a gallant battle with cancer. So after a period of mourning and being lonely for several months, it seems that by providence, Allah seems to have provided for him succor in the hands of the beautiful Zahra, who is an executive at a private oil and gas firm-Afren. The story of how they met and how love blossomed and has now led to marriage is a post for another day. Now the hardworking man has found a shoulder to lean on and someone to whisper sweet nothings to once again.


From us at Maestro's Media, we wish the Police top boss very well in his new journey & adventure, while also saying congratulations to the new Mrs Zahra Mohammed-Abubakar.

ENE MAYA-LAWANI EXTENDS BUSINESS FRONTEIR

The very delectable Ex-Miss Nigeria, Miss Ene Maya-Lawani and incidentally the longest to have reigned on the throne for 6 years (2004-2010) is not resting on her oars at all business wise.

The statuesque ex-queen, has just sealed a deal with one of the best lifestyle stores in Abuja, the FCT to carry her hair accessories & turbans. 

She was in Abuja some days back to seal the deal with the Executives of the luxury store. Her contract with the luxury brand, means that The Library would carry Ene Maya Collection in all their stores or branches at any of their locations, making the collection available to more of the accessories connoisseurs.

According to the owners of the store, represented by their PR Agent, Miss Nuella- "We are extremely excited to have her products in our stores. This is Abuja; we love our head accessories here! And Ms Lawani understands and translates that beautifully."

LARRY ONUEGBU OPENS AUTOLOUNGE CAFE ABUJA TO A LOUD BANG!

Larry Onuegbu the big boy owner of Megapoint, Cafe Vanessa & AutoLounge as delivered on his promise, no matter what his naysayers might have to say at least on many counts he still delivers. Moving from his former location in Abuja, to another one on Ademola Adetokunbo, same building with Fidelis Anosike's Folio Communication, who are the owners of Daily Times & the Miss Nigeria franchise office in Abuja. The doors of the new spot, called AutoLounge Cafe, Abuja was thrown open with a lot of fanfare penultimate weekend. 


We were on ground to cover the proceedings. We couldn't take plenty pictures because many wouldn't want their pictures taken. But one major thing we can tell you is that, if the number of people at the opening is anything to judge by, all other clubs, lounges/joints, cafes in Abuja had better take notice or they would soon be out of the market. 

The cafe's ambiance can only be described as well appointed. Obviously Larry didn't spare any expense to make the place look 1st class. Sound system was 7-star, very on point. We caught a glimpse of the owner of Tucano Abuja, Jolly Cole on the opening night having a swell time, just like other patrons.

YUTEES FANTASTIC SHOWCASE AT THE AFWL 2012

Just like we had said previously, it's not about how long, but about how good. Yutees before this showcase was more known in her domain in Abuja, the FCT, Nigeria. But after this her first international showcase she has signalled that she's in it to become one of the best. Her use of colour is outstanding, the cut, the styling and the finishing all A-class. We are already gearing up to see more of the brand. Kudos!!!
