LAGOS BANS OKADA, TRICYCLES IN 15 LOCAL COUNCILS

PRESS RELEASE

…Restricts Their Operations On 50 Highways, Bridges

Lagos State Government on Monday wielded the big stick against the menace of commercial motorcycles (Okada) and tricycles (Keke NAPEP), proscribing their operations in six Local Government Areas (LGAs), nine Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) and 10 major highways across the State with effect from February 1.

The State Government directed security operatives to embark on a total enforcement of the State’s Transport Sector Reform Law of 2018 to immediately address the chaos and disorderliness created by illegal operations of Okada and tricycle riders in restricted areas.

Besides, the Government also banned Okada and tricycles from plying 40 bridges and flyovers across the State.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, who made the announcement at the State House in Alausa, said the measures were taken by the Government in response to “scary figures” of fatal accidents recorded from operations of Okada and tricycles in the State between 2016 and 2019.

Omotoso said the lack of regard for the Lagos Traffic Laws by the Okada and tricycle riders had resulted in preventable loss of lives, adding that their impermissible movements on restricted highways had also contributed to traffic jams.

He said: “After a robust assessment of the debate on what has been widely referred to as the motorcycle (Okada) and tricycle (Keke) menace, the Lagos State Government and the State Security Council have decided that the security and safety of lives of Lagosians are paramount.

“The figures are scary. From 2016 to 2019, there were over 10,000 accidents recorded at the General Hospitals alone. This number excludes unreported cases and those recorded by other hospitals. The total number of deaths from reported cases is over 600 as at date.

“Also, the rate of crimes aided by Okada and Keke keeps rising. They are also used as getaway means by criminals. Therefore, after consultations with stakeholders, the State Security Council, in compliance with the extant Transport Sector Reform Law 2018, has decided to commence enforcement of the law which bans the operation of Okada and Keke in six Local Government Areas and nine Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).”

Omotoso said the enforcement would be total, warning that the Government would deal with violators in accordance with the Laws. He added that there would be zero tolerance for the movement of the banned vehicles on the listed highways and bridges.

According to the Commissioner, operations of Okada and Keke NAPEP have been banned in the following LGAs and LCDAs: Apapa LGA, Apapa Iganmu LCDA, Lagos Mainland LGA, Yaba LCDA, Surulere LGA, Itire-Ikate LCDA, and Coker-Aguda LCDA.

SHULAMITE OLUFUNKE ADEBOLU ERSTWHILE LAGOS COMMISSIONER REMOVED WITHOUT A MENTION & REPLACED IMMEDIATELY. WHAT'S GOING ON?

Mrs. Shulamite Olufunke Adebolu

... With the Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu.

Mrs. Shulamite Olufunke Adebolu's nomination as a Commissioner in Lagos State was met with a lot of joy, happiness and great expectations, as everyone and her fans in great numbers inclusive, had thought it was a very well deserved appointment then. One of the many reasons been that, like many of those appointed by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu to help him steer the boat of the administration of the state appropriately, she is a professional to the core and a brilliant one at that, not a politician at all by any stretch.

The 46 year old married lawyer by training, before coming on board as an administrator appointed to oversee the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry in Lagos State, the State of Aquatic Excellence, had done quite good in her private endeavors, where she had excelled brilliantly.

So when she was given the portfolio as the former Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, until when she was removed abruptly yesterday, it was a welcomed development, that all and sundry applauded. People felt that someone who could do a brilliant, most excellent job after taking over from the past commissioner, Mr. Steve Ayorinde had come on board.

So just imagine the utter shock and total disbelief that heralded the announcement yesterday, when in a so called minor reshuffling just yesterday, Thursday, January 16, 2020 when as announced by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, in the person of Mr. Gboyega Akosile, one of those that many had applauded was going to do a brilliant job for the State, was unceremoniously and quietly removed from the state's cabinet without even a quiet mention as to why or what must have necessitated such a decision!!!!

And since that press release of yesterday, tongues have been wagging, with unsubstantiated speculations flying about everywhere.

Could there have been a clash of some sort?

Could there have been some sort of a battle of wits, with the combatants not ready to back down or yield and the end result of which, has led to either the SACK or resignation!

What could have transpired so early in an administration that's still trying to come to the grips of things and whose members have not even spent up to 6 months yet on their various saddles?

What could the brilliant, well trained lawyer have done, that the only thing that could remedy the situation is a sack?

What's going on????

Shuli, as the beautiful mother of 3 and former Commissioner is fondly called by those close to her, is 46 years old and would be 47 come April 8, 2020 as she was born on the same date in 1973.

She had her primary education at the famous Home Science School, Ikoyi, before going abroad to continue her secondary education and A-levels. She got a 2nd Class Upper Graduate degree in Law from the University of Hertfordshire in 1995, then off to the College of Law, Guilford, Surrey, UK in 1996.

She is a Management Consultant with over 22 years of experience. She was an Associate Director at PwC's Advisory Service. She's a Subject Matter Expert in Information, Implementation and Execution of Government Delivery Units. She had worked in some capacity with the former Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, though she has come in then as consultant until she became one of the supposed shining stars of the Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu Administration, from which she has now been removed now when she's just about clocking at least 6 months on the job.

Find below the Press release that announced the change, which didn't mention anything whatsoever about why she was dismissed, removed, sacked or sent packing--

IS LAGOS STATE TRULY TERRIBLY BROKE? HOW COME AND WHY?

Sanwoolu & Hamzat

We don't want to sound alarmist for any reason whatsoever. But when you begin to hear some things repeatedly in the midst of some people who should know, then you know it's not a joke neither are they just throwing words around like they have nothing to do. Yes, we truly understand that an idle hand is a devil's workshop. But we also know very well that many of these people are not charlatans, neither are they bereft of work, so not engaging in idle talk.

What we have heard consistently over the last few weeks is that, Lagos is actually, very broke! What????? Where did you get that from? A whole Lagos???? You mean a whole state of aquatic excellence, that's so freaking rich compared to all other states? Imagine with all the avenues for internally generated revenue? This same Lagos that's the envy of all the other states, such that every one else wants to copy their style and model? Yes ooooo, it's the same Lagos.

According to the very underground gist, the state is so very broke, such that if care is not taken, she might not be able to pay salaries or better still meet her obligations as at when due, from the next few months! Some are even claiming that the last administration didn't leave much at all or didn't leave anything at all (that's pretty hard to believe though). The no funds at all tale, might actually be the reason why the points man for that particular administration in the person of Akinwunmi Ambode and some of his commissioners are going through unbelievable scrutiny for sometime now.

Unlike how it used to obtain, with the state house of assembly normally getting well taken care of, with good flow, it seems like the expected flow to them haven't been as forthcoming as expected and as at when due. And because that administration and this current administration being one of the same, with the difference just only been that the people running the affairs of each, are different, this is why they would prefer not to bring too much attention/scrutiny to the problem, but would prefer to just handle it more internally like a Yoruba saying goes - "when 2 parleys are not in tandem and not united, at the end both might end up losing"(ti awo o ba gba awo nigbowo, awo a tee, awo a fa ya").

Is this outrageous tale of brokenness the reason why our current Governor seem to be impotent? Or it's just that things are so overwhelming, he is just still grappling with the humongous issues, whilst looking for the best solutions to fit each to solve them once and for all? Even if it's as true as we have stated it, this story would be denied with vehemence. Since it's APC that was there before and even before, and it's still APC that's there now, it's better to keep all under wrap then to cause more issues. If this administration which would only do a term, except something extraordinary happens to change that, doesn't come good at the end of it all, APC might find it hard to win again at the next election, except if the opposition would be foolish again, to field an incompetent loser.

ZAPPHAIRE EVENTS BOSS FUNKE BUCKNOR-OBRUTHE & OAKEN EVENTS BOSS AYIRI OLADUNMOYE MAKE 17 MEN SANWOOLU INAGURATION COMMITTEE TEAM

Funke Bucknor-Obruthe of Zapphaire Events

Ayiri Oladunmoye of Oaken Events Limited

In order for a successful and hitch free inauguration of the incoming administration of Governor Elect of Lagos, Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu, the incoming Governor has announced a 17 men and women strong team/committee that includes 2 of the biggest and the best event engineers/architects/coordinators/managers in Nigeria in the person's of Funke Bucknor-Obruthe of Zapphaire Events & Ayiri Oladunmoye of Oaken Events Limited.

Between these 2 events giants, they have handled and coordinated some of the biggest and best events all over Nigeria and also outside the shores of Nigeria. The 2 brands in fact recently handled the different days of the wedding ceremonies of the Imoukhuedes and the Fowlers. Funke Bucknor-Obruthe has won several awards as 1st rate, 7 stars event manager and if called Miss Events in Nigeria, one would not be mistaken at all. Oaken Events were the event managers that successfully handled the 'awesome and intimidating Dubai wedding' wedding ceremony of the first son of Mr. Billionaire, Jide Omokore of the SPOG Petrochemicals fame. It is a wedding ceremony that still rings bell even after many years already. The sheer luxury that was displayed and the caliber of those that flew in, in torrents would not be forgotten in a hurry, Dubai knew in those few days that Nigeria was never to be toyed with. They also were the ones in charge at 'Innocent and Annie Idibia's humongous destination wedding' also in Dubai, several years back just to mention a few in the brand's staggering resume.

These 2 strong women who have made a mark in their specialty and forte would join hands with others, also very able personalities under the able leadership of 'Hon. Tayo Ayinde' the 'DG of BOSICG' (Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu Independent Campaign Group), who had successfully coordinated the campaign organization of the incoming Governor. It has been said that part of the major reason the campaign structure of BOS performed meritoriously was because of the exemplary leadership of Hon. Tayo Ayinde. His organizational skills and man management abilities are said to border on the extraordinary.

Other members of the inauguration team are the APC Women Leader in Lagos, Jumoke Okoya-Thomas, Mrs. Obiageli Onu

IN SALUTE OF THE SEEMINGLY ENDLESS DEEP POCKET OF SIR KESSINGTON ADEBUTU, THE BILLIONAIRE LOTTO KING

Sir Kessington Adebutu

DONATED HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS TO BOTH BOS & DAPO ABIODUN'S CAMPAIGN.

If what we have heard is truly anything to go by, then the King of Lotto in Nigeria, known to most as Baba Ijebu, Sir Kessington Adebutu is surely one generous man whose type might be hard to find again in this our clime. That the man is probably a billionaire is not in doubt, what the people might not really know about is how deep, a deep pocket the great man of Ijebu extraction is.

According to the gist, the super liquid man, who must have contributed a cast amount of money, which couldn't have been less than N500 million towards the failed Gubernatorial ambition of his son, Hon. Ladi Adebutu in Ogun State didn't just keep the largesse in house, but also embraced the ambition of both Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu and that of Prince Dapo Abiodun.

According to the unconfirmed gist, Sir Kessington Adebutu, who is said to have spent between N200m to N300m to host his daughter-Temitope's superlative wedding a while ago, contributed not less than N600M, towards the ambitions of the new Governor-Elects. If that staggering amount is not massive, then we don't know nothing then. The truth is, what is N600 Million not including how much he must have contributed towards his own blood son's ambition, to a man who once confessed to have lost over 1 billion Naira in a single game in one day!

The renowned octogenarian, he would be 84 come October of 2019 as he was born in October of 1935 is probably one of the most generous Nigerians alive. He is the "king of Lotto" business having been at it now for several decades, it is in fact the business that made him colossally wealthy. He rose from a very humble beginning from his homestead in Iperu-Remo, in Ikenne LGA of Ogun State. He attended Wesley School in Iperu, before coming to Lagos to attend the famous Baptist Academy, Lagos, he went back to Ogun State, Sagamu to be more precise to finish his Secondary School education. After that he began work as a Sales Person and rose to become a Sales Manager, from then he began to think of what to do for himself after stumbling on a book where he read that having a business of his one was the way forward. But without capital, the future looked uncertain but grace worked for him and from that beginning to where he is today.

To really understand how well to do Sir Adebutu is, then you look at how wealthy some of his kids l, likes of Segun Adebutu is. Years back to celebrate his birthday then, the young moneybag flew his family and friends in good number, all expenses paid, nothing spared to have a colossal party and time. That party was a talk of the time at that time.

We hear that all Papa's kids no matter how already made they are, still collect a very generous monthly allowance from their very loving dad. What a way to go. The gentleman of means dotes so much on all his kids and wouldn't allow them make a misstep that could be costly, evidence of that was shown in how he became a guardian angel for Ladi Adebutu who had gambled on the wrong side during the Ogun State Gubernatorial Election 2019, who when he had failed to dislodge Buruji Kashamu to get his party's flag to contest, decided to disrupt the apple cart any way he could, when he placed all his bets on Senator Ibikunle Amosun's candidate, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade, who later lost the election to the now Governor Elect, Prince Adedapo Abiodun, the multimillionaire owner & CEO of Heyden Oil. It was Sir Kessington Adebutu, that engineered the peace move between his son, Ladi and Prince Abiodun, making the 2 men to bury the hatchet or whatever they had between them.

BABAJIDE SANWOOLU AND DAPO ABIODUN ABROAD AS WE SPEAK! ARE THEY HOLDING A QUICK STRATEGY SESSION AWAY FROM THE PLENTY NOISE OR IS IT TO JUST HAVE A QUICK MUCH NEEDED REST?

Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu

Prince Dapo Abiodun

In the aftermath of their electoral victories at the Gubernatorial election 2019, that was attended by a very grueling, quite energy sapping campaign schedule, the 2 Governor elects of both Lagos and Ogun State might have gone abroad very quickly to have a quick rest and maybe, maybe a bit of time to themselves away from the cacophony and demand that has surrounded them since.

From the little we could gather, it has not been easy since both men were declared winners of their respective elections. If they used to get a thousand calls and messages per day before, those calls and messages have since increased explosively to another level since after their victories and one can understand that most of the calls were subtle ways of positioning and jostling for those who wants to be involved in the incoming administration of the 2 gentlemen. So just like they say, "uneasy lies the head that wears the crown"  so also too, "all work and no play leaves jack a dull boy".

While we know for a fact that the incoming Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu is right now in London, that is as at last night Saturday, March 23, 2019, we also know for a fact that Prince Dapo Abiodun, the winner of the Gubernatorial election in Ogun State was in Dubai, the UAE a couple of days ago, but should also have landed in London already by yesterday too, if not earlier.

Then there is also "the speculation" too that the National Leader of the APC, in the person of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu might also be in London too or might do a whistle stop in the queen's land too and this might be an opportunity for a few hours of strategy session with these men, to plan on loads of things that would or could mold the administration of the 2 states-Lagos & Ogun in the next 4 years.

These 2 men, are expected to hit the ground running, as so much, in fact loads much is expected from these 2 formidable men, who like we have already said before that all things being equal, should be the poster boys of the APC for the next 4 years. From our available Intel, we hear that the deluge of requests that have come the way of these 2 men since after their victories have been wondrously stupendous! All of a sudden now, everyone is a friend, a family member, a supporter or what have you! We can bet that much disappointments would most definitely come the way of many people, at the end of the day.

BABAJIDE OLUSOLA SANWOOLU & DAPO ABIODUN-THE OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME THIS REGIME'S NEW POSTER BOYS

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu National Leader APC flanked by Prince Dapo Abiodun & Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu, Governor elects, Ogun & Lagos States.

To whom much is given, very much is also expected. So it seems would be the lot of these 2 extraordinary gentlemen, that have the world as their oasis since they have now won their elections to Govern 2 of the most important states in the Federation called Nigeria for the next 4 years, that's talking about Lagos, The state of excellence and Ogun, the Gateway State or better still the Gateway to Nigeria.

Lagos State has the honour of being the number 1 state in Nigeria, as it is the economic capital/financial nerve center of the country. This is the nerve center of what goes on. It is even said that Lagos is richer than the Federal Government! Ogun State by been the nearest state to Lagos, enjoys so much, as it is the 2nd most important state in the South West, an industrial powerhouse in the making that can give even Lagos, a run for her money, with the right person who can harness her potential at the helm of affairs.

Ogun has the single honor of being the only state in the South that has produced more Nigerian leaders than all others put together. Set to be in charge of the affairs of these 2 juggernauts of States are 2 well equipped, well prepared, well destined gentlemen, from whom very much is expected. With how the campaignss and elections went, both of these APC men were pushed so much into the limelight that the pressure that is now on them to perform and perform extremely well is much, even extreme!

Many months back, in fact say about 8 months back, the only people that knew who Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu was, were more of those that he actually worked with, his family members, friends and associates. But then in the last 8 months, since destiny zoomed in on him and beckoned, knocking quite incessantly on his door, the rest like they say is now history. That someone, who himself who is considered a golden boy, a star, was rejected for him, really brought on him much attention.

Who is he? What is his pedigree? Where did he just emerge from? What makes him different? Why him of all people? Would he not be a puppet? Would he be a stooge? So, so many many questions that needed answers. The scrutiny was unbelievable, in fact quite unprecedented. Another person without a strong character and will, would have capitulated and collapsed under the burden of the searchlight. The most unbelievable part of the period was when even from his own camp, those who had adopted the maxim or principle that all is OK or accepted in a war, alleged falsely and deliberately that he had mental issues! How low can it get? But here was a gentleman par excellence, who refused to go or do gutter with his supposed adversaries who were bent on taking him down at all cost. He took it all in his stride and went about his business with purposefulness and quiet strength. He didn't falter, not once! Instead of him to sit, gloat and rely on others, assuming that the deed is done, it was in fact then that he showed more his strength and mettle. I doubt, if there's any other candidate or aspirant that worked as hard as this man did. He touched every part of Lagos, not leaving any part untouched. And because of the circumstances that surrounded his emergence, he had to be a bridge builder and so much more all at the same time and he did all he had to do with a permanent smile on his face. He faced so much unnecessary antagonism, not because he wasnt a class act on his own, but because of who he was wrongly perceived to be. He must be commended for not allowing the weight that was on him to submerge him. Kudos to him.

Now that the 1st little part, the 1st hurdle has been done away with, which is the election and which he won rather more convincingly than expected, the onerous task of elevating Lagos State to near stratospheric levels has begun. The pressure must now be hitting home and it's not a little thing. Heads must be bursting now. So many alignments across board were done to get this victory and all of those that are part of those alignments would be expectant. The number of those that pitched in, to support the quest was astounding. People gave money, supports of all kind in cash and kind was staggering!

To be the Governor of any state, is not a joke at all, but it is easier for some than the others. To be the Governor of the state of excellence, a state known by the moniker, "Eko for show is not a joke at all. The job is not one for little kids, neither for boys, but for strong men only. To be the 5th largest economy in the whole of Africa and as a state, is not a joke. One hopes, that this quiet gentleman and achiever, would with his expected all-stars team, men and women of timbre and caliber, of intelligence and capacity, would dazzle all comers in no small way. Very much is expected of them, as the performance quotient has been raised sky high.

From his first official speech as the elected Governor of the state, come May of 2019 he would be under extreme scrutiny. That much expected speech, must deliver the much required punchlines that must hit home straight setting the pace. That speech must whet the appetite, galvanizing the people, it must not be an anti-climax. It must show a blueprint that would astound all and get them involved. It should try as much as possible to lay things out in their proper perspective, with proper time lines too, but if must not be ambiguous but ambitious. It must engage the people, bringing the minds back to that slogan "the development and growth of Lagos, is our collective responsibility" (igbega ipinle Eko, ti di a ju mo se).

A lot of the roads all around are in bad states. And they actually need urgent and immediate attention. The Health sector/system needs a good shock to it, to galvanize it. The mass of the citizenry needs to feel the warmth, embrace of the Government & governance. Development should be broken into phases. Areas needs to be mapped out and the urgency of actions needed in certain area should determine the focus. There should be short term, middle term and long term goals.

Mass transit needs attention. If it can be made to work far better than it is now, maybe it would reduce the numbers of personal cars on the road. Our waterways should be exploited far better, all to reduce the number of cars plying our roads to reduce traffic. If the roads are improved on, widened where needed, urgently repaired where needed, newly built where needed, well maintained and public transport is top class, the pressure on the roads would decrease substantially and time wasted would decrease too substantially. But things must be done and encouraged with best of standards and safety in mind.

Please please and please, this metroline or mono-train needs to be delivered and quickly too, it has taken too long and the people are already too suspicious. 2 years would be too long to make this happen. With what Rotimi Amaechi has done with the trains across Nigeria, the Lagos Metroline can be delivered on time with focus and purpose. Refuse management in Lagos, needs urgent attention and one hopes that an holistic approach to make it work, would be implemented that would become the envy of all. Lagos is not said to be for show for nothing.

Much is expected from Babajide Sanwoolu and part of his service delivery would be showcased by those he would pick to assist in running his agenda. So he must pick well. Prudence should also be his watchword in everything.

With Dapo Abiodun, here is a supposed private sector guru and expert, coming into Governance or better still the public sector. Someone who is already very very made, coming in to serve and to deliver service to his people. Because of how is emergence came about and the in fighting etc etc, he was brought into our consciousness in a way that he wouldn't have preferred. But all through the shenanigans he held his own and handled the situation quite admirably. Ogun State needs a plan to take it to the very next level. All those that have been in charge apart from Chief Bisi Onabanjo and maybe Aremo Olusegun Osoba, haven't done anything extraordinary worthy of getting them into the Ogun State hall of fame when one is officially established, for developing the state outstandingly.

A state that normally because of her proximity to Lagos, the economic nerve center of the country, should have gained so much in terms of outstanding development and internally generated revenue. One would have expected a smart and purposeful Government with ideas to have turned the state into an industrial hub of activities much better than it is now. This incoming crew must look for ways to attract massive investments. The landmass is there already for positive exploitation. And just like there's the landmass for industries, it is also available for large scale farming of all kinds too, but only a few have exploited the opportunities. Then other things apart from the norm like building roads, providing quality education and environment for the people are what the incoming government should do, that would astound and mesmerize all?

Let's even talk a bit about the roads in the state, that Otta-Ewekoro-Aro road  leading to Abeokuta should have been a good sample for how good a road is, especially with a Cement factory on that road, that the Government could collaborate with to deliver a world class road. There are other areas in the state and other sectors where this new Government can shine like the sun and that would endear them to the people.

Just like Sanwoolu, Dapo Abiodun must chose for himself, people of ideas, action packed men and women, those who would hit the road running to help him achieve an Ogun State that's beautiful, well governed and exemplary in all ways.

These 2 men, upon whose shoulders, nature has given the reins of 2 great states, are under immense pressure to perform exemplarily. They are the 2 poster boys their parties are relying on to do very well. One is hoping that in the next few weeks, before they actually come into power, that they would use the opportunities, they have now, to strategize and come up with award winning plans to govern their 2 great states.

Lagos and Ogun are in 2 very capable hands we believe and we pray to God, that these 2 would shine, in fact that they must shine, like the sun amongst the many stars.

AND THE WINNER IS... BABAJIDE OLUSOLA SANWOOLU, GOVERNOR Elect, LAGOS STATE OF NIGERIA

Governor Elect, Lagos, Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu

Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, Deputy Governor Elect, Lagos State

Their Excellencies, BOS & KOH

This wasn't just a win, it was a summary defeat of the most unprecedented kind. If there was a better word or figure of speech better than landslide, then it would have been much better to use, so for want of another word to use we would just say it was a landslide victory. For the amiable candidate of the APC, represented by none other than Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu, total vote was 739,445 and for the gentleman known to all as Jimi Agabaje aka JK of the PDP, total vote is 206, 141 meaning even if, Agbaje's vote was multiplied by three (3), still yet he wouldn't have been able to defeat, the APC candidate.

So what that means is that the margin of win was twice the nos of votes the PDP man got overall, that meant that the win was total in all ramifications with a margin of 533,304 votes.

It was a comprehensive win in all the LGAs of the state as follows-
Lagos Mainland-27333 to 7265
Lagos Island-31991 to 4346
Epe LGA-35609 to 6464
Ikeja LGA-28592 to 8109
Ikorodu LGA-45879 to 14769
Amuwo-Odofin-23267 to 13700
Ibeji-Lekki LGA-23398 to 3320
Agege LGA-38515 to 8371
Apapa LGA-20469 to 5959
Somolu LGA-40408 to 9991
Eti-Osa LGA-30504 to 10678
Oshodi-Isolo-39945 to 12585
Mushin LGA-51899 to 8751
Kosofe LGA-44423 to 14351
Surulere LGA-39986 to 13733
Badagry LGA-28921 to 10089
Ifako-Ijaiye LGA-35144 to 7233
Ajeromi-Ifelodun-43975 to 14690
Alimosho LGA-78379 to 22135
Ojo LGA-30904 to 9602.

So with the above result and having polled the majority results and satisfied the requirements, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu of APC on Lagos was declared the winner of the Lagos State Governorship Election 2019 & Governor Elect by the INEC returning officer for the state, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University of Ife, in the person of Prof. Eyitayo Ogunbodede.

With this win, the fine gentleman also known by his initials BOS, would take the baton as the next Executive Governor of the most powerful state in Nigeria from the hand of his excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, who God willing might be taking up a federal appointment in the 2nd term of President Muhammadu Buhari.

A massive and very unreserved congratulations to the duo of Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu and his Deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat. May your time in charge of the State of excellence, lift Lagos very high up, far above in all ways.

#NIGERIADECIDES2019 IN LAGOS AND KWARA STATE. ONLY A MIRACLE CAN CHANGE WHATS HAPPENING NOW.

Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu
Abdulrahaman AbdulRazaq
Dapo Abiodun

Except a miracle that would be totally outstanding happens, then and only then would the tide change and maybe, the opposition in Lagos and the ruling party in Kwara State might have a chance to change what is looking like the inevitable.

Though the election in Lagos, the economic capital of Nigeria, that is supposed to lead by example was somewhat blighted by voters apathy, with the numbers of voters drastically reduced, compared to what had obtained at the February 23, 2019 Presidential and Federal House of assembly elections, even at that people still went about to vote and majority of the votes have been for the APC, which is the leading party in the state of excellence.

If the tide of event would continue like it is already in many units and no miracles would occur to change things from other polling units, then the candidate of the APC in the person of Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu would most definitely coast home to victory by a large margin. If that would happen, then a new Governor from the ruling party, would be taking over from the outgoing incumbent, in the person of his excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode. If as we have gotten our feelers, until the official results are released, everything for now are still based on speculations.

As per Kwara State, where the "O to ge" enough is enough phenomenon has swept through the state like a Tsunami uprooting their former, seemingly indespatchable oak tree, if feelers we have also gotten from our people on the ground are anything to go by, then a new executive Governor from the APC could be sworn in before June 2019 to steer the train of the state.

If the report of the defeat of the PDP & her candidate is ratified eventually by the electoral umpire, which is INEC as true, what that portends for the former strongman of Kwara State politics in the person of Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the outgoing Senate President is a total annihilation, a totally embarrassing and shameful defeat in all ramifications. And that can only be tagged as a massive humbling and humiliation, the full and final slamdunk. If it goes like it's been predicted, then it's the seal of political oblivion for the outgoing Senate President.

In Ogun State, where we had thought that the Gubernatorial election would be fought 4 ways, the surprising thing is that it has only been a contest between 2 political parties and 2 main characters or personalities and they are APC vs. APM, Dapo Abiodun vs. Adekunle Akinlade. For the other 2 parties namely the PDP & ADC and their candidates, in the persons of Buruji Kashamu and Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, it has been an abysmal showing so far, except they would gain some extraordinary votes in what could be called their strongholds or enclaves, their overall showing at the end of it all might just be embarrassing.

So far, Dapo Abiodun from all indications, seems to be having a great showing and if he continues like he has started, then the outgoing Governor, in the person of Senator Ibikunle Amosun might just be handing over to his former friend, now turned enemy who he totally dislikes now just because of politics.

In Oyo State it's too close to call for now. With both men from the APC & the PDP both having good showings in their strongholds. But like it was expected, the outgoing Governor of the State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi again disappointedly, couldn't win his polling unit for his party, the APC, losing again to the PDP. So it's more like he has become a liability rather than an asset for the ruling party in his state. If care is not taken, there's the possibility that it could be a change of baton in the state.

Osibajo, Ambode Launch Trader-Moni, Urges Recipients to Use Loan Judiciously

It was an ecstatic moment mid afternoon 2 days ago as the Vice President of the nation, Prof. Yemi Osibajo unveiled the Federal Government’s Trader-Moni initiative, a Government enterprise and empowerment programme to petty traders at the Ketu and Adebayo markets in Lagos.

The Vice President who was accompanied by the Lagos state Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode and the All Progressive Congress’ (APC) Lagos State governorship candidate for the 2019 election, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, toured the markets to the delight of all and interacted with the market men and women assuring them that the government will increase the loan to each individual provided they use what they have gotten  judiciously and are also faithful in paying back the sum as at when due.

Reacting to the Government’s gesture at the Ketu Market, the Babaloja Ikosi, Ikosi-Ketu market, Chief Akanbi Taofeek said by remembering the petty traders, the Federal government have taken the right step in the right direction. He went further to say that  although, the amount involved is small, the Babaloja said it would still go a long way to ease the suffering of the down trodden Nigerians and traders who are very much in need of such interventions. The Babaloja assured the Government of good support to ensure that the recipients keeps to what he calls “very encouraging repayments terms”.

Speaking in the same vein, the Iyaloja of the Ketu market, Mrs. Amope Adesanya, urged the Government to sustain the tempo with which they have come out to unveil the loan assistance to the common traders without the usual insurmountable requirements by Microfinance Banks and similar organizations.  Hence the desire of the market associations to support the government to ensure that the money goes round to the traders.

Some of beneficiaries who spoke on their experiences included - Ismaila Orilowo and Sunday Adekunle, both Meat Sellers at the market. While Orilowo noted that the initial loan sum of N10,000 may have been too small for his kind of business, but he still praised the Government for at least starting something.  “If such initiative had been on, all the while, a lot of economic burdens will have been eased for the common Nigerians”  Orilowo who is a cluster leader in the meat section of the market confirmed that at least a dozen traders in his team have received the money.

Elfreda Asuquo-Edet, a vegetable  trader who revealed that she had declined to register with the Trader–moni officials on their first visit to the market because she had thought it was another scam, she however expressed joy that she has benefited and invested the sum in improving her trade.  “I like the condition because it’s not going to stress me at all”, she said.

Another beneficiary, Blessing Augustine said, I am happy the Government at long last has thought about the masses. The money will help in my trade and the way it is structured, it will encourage beneficiaries to pay back on time so that they will qualify for the next step of bigger sum”.

The trader-moni initial loan sum is N10,000 for 6 months to be paid back at N430 every week. And the total sum payable thereafter is N10,250. Thereafter the trader can access N15,000 for another six month and pay back N15,375. The trader can then apply for N20,000 for 6 month with pay back sum being N21,000. If the customer is faithful he can obtain N50,000 with pay back sum at N52,000 while the highest loan sum is N100,000.

AT THE ADEBAYO MARKET
The VP and his entourage made up of the Lagos state Governor, Akinwumi Ambode and the APC Lagos state governorship aspirant for the 2019 general election, Babajide Sanwo-Olu also visited other markets too.

Speaking also about the project, the Babaloja of Adebayo Market and Bariga LCDA, Alhaji Rasaq Rabiu said the presidency made a thoughtful decision in remembering the traders and giving them the financial support which will boost their businesses.

According to him, “we thank God; the Vice President came here because of the money they are giving to the traders’, money to maintain their markets so they can make profit. Those who collected this money will not curse the Government rather they will praise them. We will continue to pray for the  Government to continue and do more than this”.

Mr Rasaq added that the traders have been sensitized that the money is a loan which they must return within six months which will enable them to acquire the next phase.

A catfish seller, Miss Adeola Oyekanmi who got her money within three days of registering for the project couldn’t hide her feelings as she hailed the Government for considering them in the project. “We started hearing about it since Friday that we should come and register and after registering we got a message and the next was a credit transfer alert. I got the money today. The money will improve my market, I am selling fish and I have N50,000 , if I add the N10,000 to it, it will boost my market, It will help me a lot, she said.

Also, a stock fish seller, Mrs Unwachukwu Ebere said she was happy on hearing about the money though she did not know it is a loan. “ I have collected my money. The money will boost my business. I am doing business with 5,000, if I add the 10,000 to it, it will surely help me.

The Iyaloja of Adebayo Market, Bariga who was also a beneficiary of the Trader-Moni initiative said the money is a good way of encouraging the traders and it will help them. According to her “The loan is good. Giving N10,000 is better than nothing.  She added that the interest rate is very small which should not be the problem for people who have collected it.

A trader, Mrs Ogunmayi who specializes in selling shoes and bags said though the money is good for petty traders, but she thinks the Government should come up with projects that will benefit those in her category.

Speaking to the press on the project, a representative of GDM, a consulting company for the Trader-Moni initiative, Mr. Olarenwaju said the information and intergration of the people towards the project has been on for almost three months. He said people were skeptical about it at first, after telling them because they are not seeing the money immediately then. He is however delighted that the people were not disappointed.

The Trader-Moni initiative is supported by the Bank of Industry and the loan repayments can be done at any of the major banks likes of Union Bank, Jaiz Bank, Fidelity Bank, GTBank, Sterling Bank, UBA, Heritage Bank, Wema Bank, Ecobank and Stanbic Bank.

WHEN WOULD THE COMATOSE JK & PDP IN LAGOS WAKE UP?

Seems like JK and his party the PDP have gone to sleep again in Lagos. It's like after the initial GRA-GRA of a few weeks back, they have receded back into their cocoon again to awaken maybe much later nearer the election.

Except maybe their action for now is deliberate and they have intentionally adopted this clandestine style just to deceive their opponent, the APC to think they see inactive and then spring a surprise. Adopting or better still employing deliberate misdirection and subterfuge, maybe then we would have understood this their glaring inactivity.

Just Imagine that it's only a few months to the next Gubernatorial election which would decide or determine who should or would take over from Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and up till this very moment, while the APC'S aspirant-Babajide Olusola-Sanwoolu is very visible, meeting with stakeholders, connecting with the people across board on different fora, engaging, discussing and generally creating awareness, instead his most visible opponent, Jimi Agbaje aka JK of the PDP is nowhere to be found!

Like we already said, except maybe there is a winning formula that they are perfectimg or that they have perfected and that they do not want to easily and quickly divulge, of otherwise they lose like it is starring them in the face now, then they have themselves to blame and should not cry any blue murder!!!

Just Imagine that Sanwoolu is not resting on his oars believing that the winning party machinery led by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and others are behind him, let him just go and rest and then coast home to victory. But he is busy every week going about doing the needful. Politics first and foremost is about engagement, connecting with both the stakeholders and the electorates, showing the ability to mix and showing the trait of humility and having a listening ear. We are already seeing much of Sanwoolu, but only know that there's a JK somewhere in background eyeing the same seat too.

Like some have said though, it's still very early days yet. There's still enough time to do the correct things that would excite the polity and get their attention. If Sanwoolu likes, he should criss-cross the whole of Lagos ten thousand times and meet with all those he wants to meet with, all of that doesn't count so says some. We know what to do, when the right times come.

Hmmmmmm!!!! Let's just hope so!!!

PHOTOSPEAK. DAGGERS SHEATHED, NO MORE WAR. ITS ALL IN THE FAMILY. SEE BRF, AMBODE & BOS ALL TOGETHER AS ONE.

BRF, AMBODE and BOS

BRF, AMBODE, BOS & Seriki

We only just hope that at the end of it all, they have all sheathed their former drawn daggers or swords and all are back together as brothers, all members of one same big family once again.

Yes, we are talking about the former Governor of Lagos and now the most powerful minister in the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, in the person of Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, the incumbent in the person of the reigning Governor of Lagos State, Mr  Akinwunmi Ambode and the man, many says is destined to take over the baton from Ambode in the person of Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu, aka BOS, the current MD/CEO of the LSPDC.

The 3 men were seen together, sat near each other like they were brothers with nothing whatsoever amiss at the APC Convention in Abuja the FCT only just yesterday. This was the same BRF & Ambode that were said not to be friends or friendly to each other embracing like best buddies or brothers. And also on the other side was the same Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu, that Ambode had tried to obliterate or is it annihilate with accusations of madness and being a criminal, an ex-convict at that, one that the affairs of the state; a state like Lagos for that matter must not be entrusted to, only just a few days back!!!!

Now the trio are like chummies who have never ever had any issues ever before.

Hilariously the trio have been tagged - Tinubu babes, while others have referred to them as Tinubu All Stars, but we have added to the tags by saying this are "men dem".

The action of the trio might just be restating "Carol Moseley Braun's quote which states " There are no permanent friends or permanent enemies, just permanent interests". Such is life!!!

WOULD IT BE OBAFEMI HAMZAT OR HAKEEM MURI-OKUNOLA OR EVEN CHIEF MRS. REMI ADIKWU????

Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat

Hakeem Olayinka Muri-Okunola

Chief Mrs. Oluremi Adikwu

So now that the major or should we say the primary ticket has been won by Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu as the APC Governorship flagbearer come 2019, the speculation has been rife as per who would likely be his running mate, that very trusted companion that could further swing things his way very positively.

With the rival PDP's primary also concluded and the winner declared as Jimi 'JK' Agbaje, all hands must now be on deck to make sure that the right running mate chosen/picked, is one that would further add more value to brand BOS and not a choice that would further cause more disaffection or take away from the brand's goodwill.

The battle against Akinwunmi Ambode truth be told caused some disaffections and one of the things that must be done quickly by the APC now is to first heal and to then pursue reconciliation across board, so as to close the gap already opened by the open schism that heralded the choice of Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu.

Now one of the major decisions also that must be taken and that can cause major issues also would be the choice of who becomes the running mate to BOS. To achieve and ensure victory at the primary against the incumbent Governor one of the political calculations that had occurred was when Obafemi Hamzat another of the frontline aspirant in the race for the APC tocket, who though is a prominent member of the Justice Forum, stepped down gallantly and joined hands to ensure BOS's victory at the Primary. Many had immediately assumed then that the duo of Sanwoolu and Hamzat would be a formidable and a winning duo, that would have the winning formula. Apart from the fact that both carries very good qualities into the mix, having fantastic experiences of having worked with at least 2 former Governors, 3 for Sanwoolu; both have strengths that can work to each others good advantage. So it looks like the obvious choice. But would it at the end of the day, be this quite obvious dynamic duo?

Dr. Obafemi Kadri Hamzat was a former commissioner under the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration and later on Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN administration too. He is in fact a Special Adviser to the current Minister for Works, Housing and Power, incidentally also BRF! He was 1st appointed Commissioner for Science and Technology in 2005 for 6 years, before he was later redeployed as Commissioner for Works and Infrastructures in 2011 taking over from the now outgoing Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola who was a former Commissioner for Works in Lagos then.

A very brilliant 54 year old man  and a prince in Ifo, Father a former prominent politician is a crowned king. He has a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Ibadan and an MSC and PhD from Universities abroad also.

Another very prominent name that has come into the mix, that in fact some already feel is also very well favoured is none other than the impressive Hakeem Muri-Okunola, famously referred to as HMO by most. Those selling his name are of the opinion that he has always been prepared for such a position as this. In fact some are of the opinion and even claims that him becoming a deputy, would only also be in furtherance of his training for the main target itself. The current Permanent Secretary, Youths and Sports is eminently qualified, were he to be chosen.

His trajectory since he came into the limelight years ago has been staggering and swift to say the least, leaving all with mouth agape at the swiftness of his rise and the positions he has held. He came into the state civil service in 2001, that's all of 17 years ago at age 29 years when he was appointed as the company secretary/legal adviser of Ibile Holdings. 2 years afterwards that's in (2003) at age 31 he was appointed as the PA to none other other than Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was then the Executive Governor of Lagos State. Then 2 years afterwards at age 33, the meteoric rise continued as he became the Executive Secretary to the Governor, Land Use and Allocation Committee, a very lucrative postition he had taken over from the now Senator Gbenga Ashafa who had moved on to become the Permanent Secretary Land Bureau; 6 years afterwards in 2011 at age 39, he again took over from the same Gbenga Ashafa, as the Permanent Secretary, Lands Bureau, under the BRF administration. It was from this position which he held till August 4, 2015, that he was redeployed and transferred to the Youths and Sports Ministry in Lagos State as the Permanent Secretary by the Akinwunmi Ambode administration. Now at age 46 plus, having garnered enough experience as it were he would perfectly fit the position of a deputy aspirant very very well at that and he has a lot going for him.

Hakeem Olayinka Muri-Okunola, was born in January of 1972 as the eldest child (son) of the late Justice Muritala-Okunola. He is an alumni of the University of Lagos where he got his Bachelors (Llb) in law and then also Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London, where he got his Masters in Business Law. He passed out of the Nigerian Law School in 1995.

Another prominent name that some have suggested that can feature very well on the list also is that of a formidable female politician, Chief Mrs. Remi Adikwu, 62. The lady born on Valentine day, February 14, 1956, has contested on many occasions, at least 3 times to become the 1st elected female Governor of Lagos State unsuccessfully. Married twice, first to her late husband Major Adikwu and later to a former very good friend of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo in the person of Chief Olakunle Bakare of the Oluwalogbon Motors fame. Her choice if ever ratified would be on strictly political reasons. She is a successful businesswoman.

She had served in 2 different Ministries as exemplary Commissioner under the administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. She later shifted base to the opposition before she recently came back into the fold again.

So which of these trio would be chosen--Hamzat or HMO or Adikwu?????

As an aside though another name sprang up somewhere too, but quite silently though. Person's initials is FC and he is currently doing great in Abuja, could he or would he not?

BATTLE ROYALE OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY & KIND CONFIRMED AS JIMI AGBAJE WINS THE LAGOS PDP GOVERNORSHIP TICKET

Jimi Agbaje

JK vs. BOS

DEJI DOHERTY

It was like he went comatose after he lost in 2015 against APC's own Akinwunmi Ambode. After all the intrigues that heralded that election, he went somewhat totally underground without a whimper all of the 3 years, not saying nothing, not very visible too at that.

But suddenly when the APC in-fighting began and there was the talk that Ambode, who was seen as the poster boy of the APC wouldn't be allowed to go again for a 2nd term, it was like a wake up call for the opposition. Their new excitement is based on their belief that many would be extremely upset with what the APC has done to Ambode, so with a divided house on one side and a good candidate on the other side, there would be a protest vote that would yield the votes to the other party as long as they the opposition pick a very good representative to carry their flag.

First to scare the APC, the PDP had thought to bring billionaire oil magnate Femi Otedola into the race which would have been a game changer of a decision had the billionaire agreed to join the race, but the complete businessman stylishly refused to catch the once in a lifetime bait, which could have either made or mar his image, as some would have thought it was a direct affront to the ruling party.

So for the ticket, especially to see who can battle the APC's candidate-Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu wit for wit, style for style, move for move etc, the PDP made sure to wait till the APC race was 1st concluded before they did theirs. So after just a few days of the APC competition, the juggernauts in the PDP met today to battle it out,

It was a straight battle between Jimi Agbaje versus the perennial competitor, Adedeji Doherty, the super rich fellow has tried, times without number to win his Party's ticket for the Governorship race, but has never been lucky. So again, after a keenly fought battle win by 1100 votes for JK against 742 votes for Deji Doherty aka DD; Jimi Agbaje has been declared the winner and he would do battle with APC's Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu BOS for the Governorship next year. And that promises to be an unprecedented battle ROYALE!! It would pit JK and Atona Oodua Olabode George against BOS and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is the Asiwaju of Lagos, Jagaban of Borgu Kingdom, the Baba Oba of Ikorodu and the Aare-Ago of Egbaland.

No one, in fact no other person has ever given the APC a run for their money like JK did in the last election in 2014/2015. As he brought a lot of expected competition into the mix which had been lacking before then and which really excited a lot of people and now that he has emerged as his Party's flagbearer again, many are expecting the battle to be very fierce once again and not just a simple pushover.

So it's JK versus BOS for the jugular of Lagos. A very exciting time awaits us in Lagos.

LIVE UPDATE OF THE #LAGOSAPCPRIMARIES. SANWOOLU VS. AMBODE!

Ambode vs Sanwoolu

Though it's rather too early now to make a full assessment of things as per the ongoing #LagosApcprimary2018 battle between the sitting Governor in the person of Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode & the man hoping to dislodge him, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu, who is the current LSPDC MD/CEO, but the initial assessment as it were now is that, it would take the combination of the heaven, with the very active involvement of numerous angels and maybe the participation of JUST one Cherub to change the overwhelming result that is already getting very glaring for all to see.

Though we agree that it is yet early days now, but for the places where things have happened already and where their results may have come out and have been unofficially declared already or read out already it can only be described as, for want of other better adjectives to use as landslide victories or total annihilation for Sanwoolu!

Just imagine margins of victory as much as 9000 to 20, 16000 to 3, 16000 to 80, 4800 to 1700,  14000 to 0, 14000 to 0, 960 to 4, etc.

It is just better to describe all of these initial outcomes as a total massacre. But we are expecting very gallant showings from Ambode in all the wards in Epe, Amuwo, Satellite, these places and a few more are what can be described as enclaves of Ambode's loyalists. Ambode's deputy is from Badagry, so maybe she would do well for her boss in that area! But unconfirmed news/report says she might also have dumped her boss, to follow the fully and its entirety the dictate of the party above personal interest. A video has gone about where she openly said party supremacy for her is above all other considerations.

Also it is been speculated, not confirmed though as a fact that the current Commissioner for Information and Strategy for the state, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan, might also have shifted his allegiance to be on the side clamouring for full party supremacy,

The Governor is from Epe and he is reputed to have a cult like following in Epe majorly because of the developments he is supposed to have brought to bear there.

According to the unofficial results in from the Epe area, the Governor as expected annihilated and decimated his opponent with incredible margins like 30000 to 0, 29500 to 10, 11700 to 50, 15000 to 0, 6120 to 0, 17100 to 2, 4500 to 0. All of these numbers though haven't been confirmed yet. But please forget the numbers for now till we hear or get the official information, just judging by the sheer number of people out and about at the places we went to, Sanwoolu from just that alone might have won the primary. But not until all the results a collated and ratified officially before we can now declare as a fact who the winner is.

Feelers from so many people or sides are coming in though. Some have claimed that the Primary has been cancelled and some have said the primary result would soon be announced. But we are still awaiting what next!!!!

TIME TO RESPECT THE PEOPLE OF LAGOS STATE AND THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR

The man, Hon. Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu the MD of the LSPDC and one of those expected to contest the Governorship Primaries of the APC tomorrow, that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, the current executive Governor of Lagos attacked at his world press conference today, has thought to dignify the salacious allegations of the Governor with a reply.

Hear him below-

Let it be heard by all that I hold the people of Lagos state with great respect and affection. Their welfare is my utmost concern and it is what drives my pursuit for the governorship nomination of the APC.

As such, I also hold the office of governor of our state in high esteem. I shall never consciously do anything that will undermine the dignity of the office nor will I engage in personal attacks against the holder of that officer. My pursuit of office will continue to be based on issues that matter to Lagosians and not on attacks against someone’s character, even when he attacks mine. For anyone to engage in unwarranted character attacks against me, reveals more about that person’s character than it says about mine.

Thus, I felt sad for Lagos as I watched Press Conference by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode. Many things he said was beneath the dignity of our people and the exalted office he now holds. Perhaps the tension and anxiety of the moment got the better of him. If given a chance at a cooler reflection of what he said, I am sure he would regret his descent into such low conduct. In this vein, I forgive him and hope he regains his balance and proper comportment no matter the outcome of tomorrow’s contest. After all, we are both here to improve Lagos not to wrestle in its streets.

However, I must clear up some inaccuracies in the Governor’s statement. His allegation of that I was arrested for spending fake dollars at a nightclub in the United States was untrue. In fact, the governor knows I travelled to the United States just last month. I would not have been allowed to travel or even get a visa if I had been involved in what the Governor falsely alleged.

That the Governor claimed I underwent some unidentified type of “rehabilitation” at the Gbagada General Hospital was also shameless and untrue. Promulgation of salacious rumour should not be part of the job description of a governor.

This is not the stuff of high office. People should question whether itis ethically right for the Governor to turn what should be confidential medical information about a citizen into a weapon of political warfare? But for the avoidance of doubt, let it be stated that I never received any treatment whatsoever at the Gbagada General Hospital.

Today, instead of making a convincing defence of his performance, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode sought to sow fear into the hearts of Lagosians.

But Lagosians are intelligent and brave people. They can see through the smoke and the fog. I am here not to tear my opponent down but to help build Lagos up.

With me, you will hear about progress in education, health, sanitation, proper tax levels, economic development, infrastructure, jobs, public services and other things that enhance the lives of people. I am a serious person and this primary is a serious matter. I have not the time or inclination to attack character when there are so many real issues to address.

We will continue to focus on the issues that matter in the lives of the people of Lagos.

Lagosians want an answer to the sanitation crisis cast loss of jobs caused by Mr. Ambode’s Visionscape misadventure. Our people will want to know why Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has not been able to build a single General Hospital in the State when his immediate predecessor Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) built 11 General Hospitals. Lagosians are waiting to hear what our solutions are. They want to know why hundreds of competent civil servants got summarily dismissed and how this has undermined public services.

As a candidate for the party’s nomination and hopefully as your next governor, my approach will not be to sling insults but to propose solutions to the problems of the day.
