This year’s edition of Music Meets Runway tagged –ICON EDITION would definitely be an event to remember as music legends, Femi Kuti and 2Face Idibia are set to fire up the stage and thrill Music and Fashion lovers as the models strut on the runway.

Grammy Award nominee, Femi Kuti, son of the Afro-beat king and pioneer, Fela Kuti is one of Nigeria’s biggest exports recognized for his genre of music and collaboration with the world’s best artists- Roy Hargrove, D’Angelo, Nile Rodgers to mention but a few.

Performing alongside Femi Kuti, is multiple award winning (international & local) Afro-pop icon, 2Face Idibia, a songwriter and record producer. The UN Peace ambassador has worked with musical giants such as R. Kelly, Akon, Wyclef Jean and Mary J. Blige.

This will be the first time both artists will be performing on the Music Meets Runway Platform.

Music Meets Runway has featured notable artists such as D’banj, Wizkid, Davido, Duncan Mighty, K-switch, Burna Boy and this year’s event will be stronger and  bigger as  MMR 2013 presents ICONIC Music Acts on stage.

Meets Runway (MMR) has successfully showcased Nigeria’s talent in the fashion and music industry in the past years and also positioned itself as a brand that fuses Music & Fashion and also provides a platform for recognition.

WIZKID DROPS JAIYE JAIYE VIDEO..........

Nigeria's rave of the moment the fantastic kid wonder known to all as #Wizkid whose real name is Ayo Balogun has dropped the new video for his banger if a hit, Jaiye-jaiye where he featured one of his idol- Femi Kuti. 

The video directed by Sesan, sees the hitmaker in the forest as a caped hero. He is later seen driving around town in a Bentley singing about his plans for his parents and crooning about the changes in his life since hitting it big. In the video the #starboi is seen channeling his top idol Fela, wearing the ankara pant and later on the top looking cool and then performing with Femi at the world famous #african shrine. 

In our opinion, we think its a simple, easy does it video without any unnecessary gimmicks. What we particularly love about the song itself is the reflection on how far now he has come from the days of yore and how thankful to God and appreciative he his.

2 KINGS LIVE IN CONCERT UPCOMING!!!

The D-date is set for Sunday, August 25, 2013. The venue is expansive hall of the convention center at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The concert would feature the 2 of the only artistes worthy of being referred to as kings. One of them is the Prince of Afro-beats himself, the one and only Femi Anikulapo-Kuti, who with his band, the Positive force would grace the bandstand. Unarguably, Femi is one of the most respected Nigerian/African musicians in the world. Not very many Nigerian musicians have been nominated for the very prestigious 'Grammy Awards'. And Femi has had that privilege.

Set to play alongside Femi on the night at the same concert, is most probably Nigeria's most talented musician of late, who incidentally is also one of the best vocalists from Africa, and that's none other than 2 Baba himself, the one and only Innocent 'Tuface' Idibia. 

Now you would readily agree that these 2 are truly authentic music kings. As we speak there's an on going scramble from would be sponsors, who are willing to be a part of the concert.

FEMI KUTI ON US TOUR & PARTNERS WITH IROKING

Afro-beat's Generalismo the one & only Femi Anikulapo-Kuti & his Positive Force band have embarked on a US tour.  Fela's first son & his band would be visiting Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Vermont, Philadelphia, Chicago, Wasshington & Boston. Tour date starts from tomorrow,  Thursday, January 17 till January 27, 2013.
