KAYODE OGUNDAMISI POOH POOH'S BILLIONAIRE FOLORUNSHO ALAKIJA'S CLAIM TO AWESOME WEALTH VIA OIL BLOC!

Kayode Ogundamisi

Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija

There has always been this over stressed narrative as per how Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija, one of Africa's wealthiest woman came into her stupendous wealth. At every given opportunity, the colossally rich woman never fails to talk about how, she took charge of an oil well, that was rejected by another, which later became the corner stone to what we know now.

According to the lady of immense means, whose 2nd wedding ceremony for one of her sons which happened sometime ago in London, shook the whole of the United Kingdom due to the sheer opulence that was displayed and the value of money spent. She had said what was rejected by an oil company, she had accepted by faith. So what that actually refers to, is that it was God and her trust in the God, that brought the Oil bloc her way!

A seasoned social activist and a veteran of many battles of wit, based in the UK, who shuttles between the UK and Nigeria, who was a former Secretary General of the Students Union of his Alma Mater, University of Jos, by name Kayode Ogundamisi, who maybe having being highly irritated by the continual flogging of the same old bullshit narrative, recently pooh-poohed, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija's claim to fame in a series of very piecing, no holds barred tweets!

WELCOME TO BILLIONAIRE'S ROW IN IKOYI- WHERE NOT LESS THAN 5 SUPER DUPER RICH P HAVE THEIR PALATIAL ABODES

Dr Ernest Nnaemeka Azudialu Ojiebesi

Folorunsho Alakija

Chief James Ibori
Nestoil HQ

Many years back a well known, very well recognised, super stylish man of God by name "Pastor Kris Okotie of the Household of God Church", who is specially blessed with the gift of the garb, rephrased a popular saying thus "Birds of identical plummage, congregate in the same vicinity", that time honoured statement is very apt in describing what we are focusing on here today.

Truly and truly, only soul mates connects and stay in the same area, minions always find their levels, like they say water has levels.

Ikoyi Crescent in Lagos, is one of those roads or streets that tries to help define very well, the apt statement above. At the beginning part is Victor Gbolade Osibodu's Vigeo HQ, while at the end of the same road that also houses the residence of the US Consular General, is the humongous 5 star hotel still under construction and owned by another super rich man, in the person of the Ide Ahaba himself, Chief Sonny Odogwu.

Years back in the late 80s till for a long while the street played home to one of Nigeria's great industrialists, in the person of the Chief Razak Akanni Okoya of the Eleganza Industries Fame. That spread of high-rise buildings, which had the gracious money man's suite too, used to be a beehive of activities then, as it hosted many wondrous parties, where the who-is-who of that time used to gather. That was until Chief Okoya relocated to his Olorunisola palatial home along the Lekki-Ajah Expressway.

Not too far from Chief Okoya then were the houses of whoever became the then Chief Justice of Nigeria and then the Vice-President or Chief of General Staff in the military government then. Ikoyi Crescent has always had its history as a major part of the very valued old Ikoyi.

There is what just saying you live at the old Ikoyi end conjures in the mind of the initiates, it immediately says you are part of old money and old money means part of the establishment, those who make things go tick and tock.

Now fast forward to the recent times, that stretch still retains some of the ambience of the old, but it has now been transported to a much higher realm now. Though it is still the rich that abodes here, they cannot just be described in that too familiar term. Those here now are not just men and also woman of timber and caliber, but these are people of extraordinary and strathospherical means, in other words "Billionaires". Hence the reason why that stretch of road has been recoined Billionaire's Row.

Imagine that one of the 2 wealthiest black women (African) on earth lives on this row! And that's none other than Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija of Famfa Oil fame. Mrs Alakija very recently showed the world in London, that she's a certified, Forbes rated billionaire unparalleled with that humongous wedding of her son which held the land of the queen mesmerised. London has always known the African and Nigerian rich and the wealthy, but they had never felt the power of such wealth, the way Mrs. Alakija razzled-dazzled everyone earlier this year on all counts. Madam and her family are residence on the Billionaire's row.

Right opposite Mrs. Billionaire is the humongous and superlative edifice of none other than, Dr. Billionaire himself by name Dr. Ernest Nnaemeka Azudialu Ojiebesi, the intimidating Lion of Okija, who is the Osuofia (pathfinder, clearer of bush) of Okija In Ihiala LGA of Anambra State and who is the owner of Nestoil.

NO CHANGES ON FORBES RICH LIST AS ALIKO DANGOTE, ADENUGA, OTEDOLA, ALAKIJA, DANJUMA STILL TOPS LIST

Aliko Dangote

Dr Mike Adenuga

Femi Otedola

Folorunsho Alakija
The annual rich list of the mega men and woman was released again for 2017 and the positions occupied by many of those listed hasn't changed at all, neither the value of their wealth too.

Apart from Femi Otedola, Tony Elumelu and Jim Ovia who all sometimes moves up or down on the ladder before. Femi Otedola has now retained his 3rd position again.

Perennial number 1 and 2 remained fixed, as Aliko Dangote is still the Numero Uno liquid man with a staggering worth as stated by Forbes to be $12.5billion followed by Dr Michael Agbolade Adenuga.

Here is the full list according to their positions and their worth.

Aliko Dangote- Nigeria's richest and by extension Africa's wealthiest and also "Richest Blackman alive", said to be worth $12.5 billion. The value of his worth is not as it used to be meaning his position on the world's richest list from the high of nos 24 has now gone down to less than first 100 in the world.

Otunba 'Dr' Michael Agbolade Adenuga. Nigeria's consistent nos 2 richest. The owner of Globacom Nigeria nos 2 telecommunications company and owner of several other brands, with investments in several other pies.  Net worth is put at $10.5 billion. Some have claimed consistently that he might be worth more than the value above.

Femi Otedola. Nigeria's current nos 3. A position that he sometimes inter changes with others. The father of DJ Cuppy has experienced the down time which really affected his wealth and worth a while back, but he has since bounced back gallantly. A testament to his strength and ability is him occupying this 3rd position now with a net worth of $2.3 billion. The owner of Zenon and chairman of Forte oil is a survivor.

Folorunsho Alakija. Hers is the story of grace. The MD of Famfa Oil is said to be the undisputed Richest woman in Nigeria and probably the richest woman of African descent, there's the issue sometimes about who is richer between her and the Angolan first daughter. The former fashion designer has since grown in leaps and bounds. The UK would not forget the wedding of her son to his beau that held at a palace recently. The media spoke about that wedding with such gloss, that made Africans and Nigerians all over the world proud. Her net worth is placed at $2.1 billion.

AFRICA'S WEALTHIEST WOMAN FOLORUNSHO ALAKIJA HITS 66 & DEDICATES ALL TO GOD

For many years running now, the Executive Vice Chairperson of her own oil and gas brand known to the world as Famfa Oil, Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija has been acclaimed as Africa's number 1 wealthiest woman and it's like she's not ready in anyway or manner at relinquishing that post.

Though we don't know her exact worth, but it's been put in the region of $3 billion plus sweet Dollars. That an awesome amount of money or like some would say a very very tidy sum, running into a staggering or colossal sum if one were to change such amount into Naira. What that just says is that, it's like some are nearly as rich if not richer than their country, Nigeria.

So the supremely fashion conscious lady clocked 66 years today, Saturday, July 15, 2017 having being born on July 15, 1951 in Ikorodu, Lagos to Chief L.A Ogbara.

In her own special way at saying thank you to God for another year alive, the former President of FADAN penned a birthday message to herself, ascribing everything to her maker thus-

"Happy 66th Birthday to Me!

Lord Jesus, I come to your throne room to celebrate my Special day. Thank you Lord for making me see another beautiful year. Thank you Father for the Gift of life.

All I can say is THANK YOU LORD for WITHOUT YOU I AM NOTHING BUT WITH YOU I HAVE EVERYTHING I WILL EVER NEED. I AM TRULY GRATEFUL.

COVENANT KEEPING GOD! (Sic)

Madam only just recently as in just last month, June 2017 held a supersonic wedding for her son, one of the 4 who had to remarry after the demise of his first wife due to illiness. That wedding of the sseason held at an iconic palace, where one of Great Britain's most iconic figure, Sir Winston Churchill was born.

The  revebrations from that humongous wedding, which displayed sheer opulence in its most extravagant form has not yet subsided in the UK and would take a longwhile to subside.

So from us here we say, to the Lady of  a great and immense means. Happy birthday Madam. Long may you live to continually stamp your indelible feet upon the sands of time.

ANOTHER STUPENDOUS WEDDING BY THE ALAKIJA'S

Just in case, you are wondering which Alakija, you must surely have come to understand after all this while that there's only one, that is the reference point and it's none other than Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija and her husband. For effect, we all know that she has the enviable record of being the "wealthiest black woman alive" in the whole universe. And any party, event or occasion she organises is the ones to be stored be seen at

So first of all, salute to the woman of proper timber and Caliber.

So like expected, one of her sons, by name Flo (Folarin) took his now lovely wife to the altar yesterday and it was done inside a castle in London.

Like expected of a multi million pounds wedding, it had all the elements and trappings of drama and fairytale in abundance and on show, obviously the event planner went the extra mile, to make the whole day special. When there's good money, anything can be gotten and done.

Venue of the wedding was the prestigious Blenheim Palace, in Stockport, Oxfordshire, London. And it was the wedding between 2 lovebirds, being Flo and his gorgeous Iranian stunner now wife, Naza or better still Neganin for full.

The "invitation box", not card for this wedding was expectedly outstanding and intimidating. The first leg of this wedding had begun in Lagos, Nigeria with a traditional engagement etc sometime in November of 2016 at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos and that engagement on its own was a mega event as all the high rollers from different works of life were in attendance.

Now fast forward to this incredible white wedding. Naganin is the daughter of  an Iranian businessman, while Folarin is one of the 4 sons of the Alakijas.

The stupendous wedding venue, Blenheim Palace, is an architectural masterpiece steeped in tradition, it was where Sir Winston Churchill was born in 1874. It has a capacity to hold up to 2000 guests maximum and package could come to from £100,000 and upwards depending on many factors.

For someone that's super wealthy, it's the perfect venue to hold such a wedding of this magnitude.

Happy married life to the gorgeous duo.

As expected with Northern Nigerian weddings, it was steeped in their culture and tradition. It was an undeniably colourful cultural night also known as the Mother's night, and it took place with the Kamu and Wolima. It's a tradition that's expected where the bride would be fawned on and celebrated by her peers and other female members of the family. While the Wolima is more of plenty of prayers. The mother's night was hosted by IBB's eldest daughter Aisha, who perfectly represented her mother, the late Maryam Babangida.
