BABAJIDE OBANIKORO WINS THE APC TICKET FOR ETI OSA

Babajide Ibrahim Obanikoro 

Finally and finally, the first son of former defense Minister, Musiliu Obanikoro in the person of the handsome and very dogged, Babajide Ibrahim Obanikoro has won the contest to determine who would contest the election into the House of Representatives as per Eti-Osa Federal Constituency.

In a gallant battle that saw him facing the incumbent Hon. Akinloye Hafeez Babajide, 50 who had already done 2 terms before and had also done 2 terms as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly from 2093vtill 2011. The much younger Jide Obanikoro with an overwhelming support nearly obliterated his opponent on Election day. Jide had contested election several times before, twice for the chairmanship of Obalende/Ikoyi LCDA to be more precise, but unfortunately being in the other party against the ruling party had always put paid to his Ambition, losing on both counts. In fact, it is said in some quarters, that those elections where he was adjudged to have lost, he might have actually won on both occasions, but he was denied the victory on both occasions!

But since the young man at 35 year old and his dad Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, who was a former minister of state for defense and also a former Mayor of Lagos Island, change tact and moved over to the winning party in Lagos, which is the APC from the PDP, it seems fortune has finally smiled on him and the immediate result of that good move, might just be seen in this win. Jide had joined the APC in his ward C Ikoyi constituency about 8 months ago and he was welcomed then by a former Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State, Mr. Wale Edun and others.

The APC election happened yesterday, Thursday, October 4, 2018 and as per the 7 wards where the elections took place, Jide won glaringly with an unassailable margin in 4, while the incumbent won slightly in just 2, another opponent who has since withdrawn and given all his support to Jide was said to have won in one ward. There are 10 wards in all according to the information we have. 

SO THE DEED IS DONE. KORO NOW IN APC WOULD THE INVESTIGATION STOP NOW?

Politicians by nature, at least according to how their nature is in Nigeria have no ideological bent whatsoever, to them it's not about a philosophy, but just a game of numbers, so when things are not too rosy where they were, all they just need do is dust their feet and just move on to the next. 

2 major moves were made this weekend alone, one the former VP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar wiped off his name from the registry of the ruling party, the APC. He gave many reasons why he needed to move. The other great mover was none other than the man many just simply refera to as Koro, his full name being Senator Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro, erstwhile PDP member and staunch supporter and friend of APC's number 1 enemy- Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose. 

Let's even digress a bit, love him or hate, Peter Ayodele Fayose is a man of honour par excellence! The reason for saying this is because he has remained consistent, unflinching and steadfast as concerning his party and what he believes in and he is in the opposition for real, giving the APC back many doses of their own medicines, which they themselves used to give. Compared to the likes of many, who after just a little issue, they are already gone, like fair weather friends, who are tossed to and fro, here and there by every weather, those who cannot take a little stress or cannot face headlong any battle, he has remained a true person. Forget for now, any other part of him. 

So Koro, who many have called several names like of Judas, somewhat of a quisling has officially become a member of the ruling party and his move was celebrated colourfully by his new party in pictures, so we have thought to share them with you all. 

What the generality of the people have based this move majorly on, is that it's a way of giving the dude some sort of soft landing! Identify with us, shame yourself somewhat and you will be pardoned. Is that the case?  

IS OBANIKORO THE NEXT GOVERNOR OF LAGOS? HAS HE TRULY CROSS CARPETED TO THE RULING APC?

The rumour has been rife. It has gotten the media into overdrive with speculations. Musiliu Obanikoro himself has not helped matters at all. He has been hobbnobbing with the former opposition members, while still claiming to be member of his party. It's like he is intentionally playing a game.

From all indicatioms he is APC in spirit and soul, but maybe not yet bodily.

Many have thought that finally after all the intentional deflections of many weeks, that the former PDP perennial governorship contestant and former Defence Minister during the reign of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan might have finally jumped ship and has again gone to pitch his tent with his mentor again in the person of ASIWAJU Bola Ahmed Tinubu's APC.

Those who could read body language very well had predicted the move since, but apparently MUSILIU OBANIKORO, intentionally wanted to mix the people for a while first, whether to gauge their mindset before doing what is obvious that he would most definitely and some say certainly do.

Some have also speculated that this move, might also be a way by some bloc, to send signals somewhat to the incumbent action Governor, in the person of his excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, who has so far defied everyone's description has he seem to be in such a hurry to obliterate for good, not for bad, every record of achievements made by all his predecessors combined, except maybe Alhaji Lateef Jakande who was exceptional during his reign and time.

THE NIGHTINGALE BY NAME MUSILIU OBANIKORO SINGS SONOROUS NEW MELODY

Melody nos 1- First he sonorously commends Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for doing excellently well in his service delivery. That he is pleased with what the action Governor is doing.

Melody nos 2- Then in the same breathe, he castigates his own party chieftain, Ali Modu Sheriff and says he would rather follow the opposition than to follow him. He went further to say that, should Modu Sheriff win his case and be made the Chairman of PDP by the Supreme Court, that's when he would cease to be a member of the PDP.

Melody nos 3- Then he waxed lyrical, when he corrects the notion that he had already jumped ship from PDP to APC. The speculation was rife that he had moved from his beloved PDP to APC. So he claims that a politician of his status would not move and that move not be heralded by much fanfare that it deserves. So by that it means, he hasn't moved yet. All that's been heard are just rumours.

Melody nos 4- Then he went rapping, when he went on to state that he was never comfortable while he was estranged from his godfather, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Jagaban of Borgu, with whom he was at loggerheads with since 2006, that's for 11 straight years until recently. He went further to say that he his happy to have finally made peace with the Asiwaju. That losing a personal relationship with the Jagaban was a mistake. That the fence mending is not for any political reason, but rather for Lagos and personal interest.

We totally commend his dexterity at mixing all the genres of music together so effortlessly and greatly and therefore recording an award winning single.
