Maybe just because of the drama that follows the Met GALA yearly, it is always an event to look out for and always very well anticipated. With the stars and celebs going zany at interpreting the theme of the event in their dress code annually, so it's always a wondrous collaboration between the stars/celebs and the designers who most often clothes them.

This year's Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute exhibition event was a mix of religion meet with fashion, as the theme for the year's exhibition was "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination". The annual GALA is always tied to an exhibit at the costume Institute of the MM of Art.

So in interpreting this year's theme as a dress code for the event, many of those who attended channelled religious iconography in different forms, the year's theme explored the relationship between fashion and religion or better still the tradition of catholicism, so from the use of the crucifix to many more outrageous styles the guests did their best to translate the theme how best they understood it. From Rihanna to Madonna to Jared Leto to JLo to Katy Perry to Solange to Kim Kardashian West and many others, it was one outrageous interpretation to another. That Kim K's gold outfit with the 2 large crosses at the front, was like molten gold was poured on her and it just absolutely formed her silhouette to perfection. Travis Scott all black military outfit stood out for us, though it didn't exactly follow the year's theme, the neatness and styling for us was upscale. He was with his baby mama, who was hot-hot in all black too, showing off impossible curves.

One person that was expected but was conspicuously absent and whose absence was well noticed was Beyonce, as most wanted to see how far she would have gone or what she was going to interpret the theme as.

Some of those seen with him at the party, were the likes of rave of the moment Olamide, Seyi Shay, Zeez, Skales, Bovi & many others, even the owner of the joint, in the person of Shina Peller was around to welcome the guests.

A couple of weeks ago, the gorgeous & extraordinarily stylish Senator Florence Ita Giwa went all the way to put together what many have come to tag as one of the wedding parties of the year, for her 2nd daughter Kokoeca Florence Mayen, who got married to her heartthrob Chimaobi Shawcross.

Some even went on further to call the party a carnival. From all we saw they weren't wrong in anyway. Apart from the traditional ceremony that was done in the bride's home state in Calabar, Cross River State, there were about 2  pre-wedding party on the same night. One was the bride's hen party, that was celebrated at a secret location, while the bride's mom, in the person of Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, hosted her own friends to what was tagged the Mother's hen party, at the Sky Lounge, Eko Hotel, Lagos. The venue has that super fantastic view of the Bar Beach/Atlantic Ocean from most probably the highest point on Eko Hotel.

According to some of those who were privileged to attend, they said it was a classy party by all standards.  Knowing the good Senator well, we are so sure she wouldn't have spared expense in anyway to make sure her guests were well taken care of.

Some of those in attendance were likes of Princess Yetunde Onilere, ever graceful Grace Egbagbe, Ireti Asemota, the short hair wearing Ruth Osime, Ndidi Obioha, ever stylish Nkiru Anumudu, Data Okorodudu, thespian of note Joke Jacobs, Hajia Abah Folawiyo, Queen Ahneva and very many others.  We even heard that there was an unofficial dancing competition, that was supposedly won hands down by Ndidi Obioha, who was clad in a beautiful all black shimmery/ leather like outfit, that showed off her structure to good effect.

From the look of things, at least from the pictures, it was obvious those in attendance had good fun.

One of Nigeria's most gorgeous thespians in the person of Monalisa Chinda a few days ago clocked 40. And to celebrate clocking the new age friends and family members alike got together to celebrate with her.

Some of those at the private gathering, which held at Villa Medici on Saturday, September 13, 2014 were the likes of Tonye Cole, Joke Jacobs, Liz Benson, Kingsley Kuku, Comedian AY, Ibinabo Fiberesima, Mai Atafo, Basorge Tariah Jnr, Uti Nwachukwu, Julius Agwu, Gloria & Obukome Ibru, Patrick & Iretiola Doyle, Lola Maja-Okojevoh, Zik Zulu Okafor, Segun Arinze and many others.

It was an interesting gathering of back-slapping and merry making. Prior to the party at Villa Medici, earlier in the day, the gorgeous and philanthropic actress with a few of her colleagues had done a charity walk, where she also spearheaded the sponsorship of about 200 less privileged children to school through her foundation. Kudos to her and a big congratulations!!!!!

The Executive Chairman and CEO of EbonyLife TV, Africa’s first Global Black Entertainment and Lifestyle network, Mo Abudu, celebrated her 50^th birthday on Saturday, 13 September 2014 at the grand ball room Oriental hotel, Lagos.

Notable Nigerians were present to celebrate with this woman of substance, inspiration and a beacon of hope to many, as she attains this milestone in her exceptional and eventful life. 

The black tie and glam event started with red carpet from 6pm. The event was tagged "Mo@ 50...Celebrating Sisterhood" with the aim of celebrating women of distinction in different categories of life and business. 10 categories of unsung heroes were awarded for their quiet but extraordinary and exemplary achievements. 

Guests at the event included Nigeria’s A-list set Genevive Nnaji, Tiwa Savage, Funke Akindele, Basket Mouth, Julius Agwu, Iyanya, Tonye Cole, Donald Duke, Dele Momodu, Adesuwa Onyenokwe,  Abike Dabiri, Joseph Benjamin, Uti Nwachukwu, Bode Pedro, Uche Pedro, Niyola, Ebuka Obi Uchendu, Pastor Ituah, Mai Atafo, Olisa Adibua, sade kassim, ruth osime, KENNEDY UZOKA,  amongst others.

The event also had a roll call of political dignitaries like Governor of Ondo state, Olusegun Mimiko, Governor of Cross rivers state and his wife, Liyel Imoke and Mrs Obioma Imoke and Donald Duke.

Performers were Tiwa Savage, Chidinma, Seyi Shay, Yinka Davies, Ara, Efya from Ghana, Waje, and others.

The event ended with an after party.

It was what we can only describe as a show of assets by many of the stars/celebs who came out in large numbers at the recent "Mtv Road to Mamas Concert'', the prelude to the main deal- the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards KwaZulu- Natal better known as the MAMA Awards, upcoming very soon in Durban, South Africa.

It was a show of pins (by that we mean legs) on the red carpet at the venue of the event, the Federal Place Hotel, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos. Even one of our favourite person on the red carpet, the ubiquitous Toke Makinwa showed off a bit of her well package not just pins even the chest in her very gorgeous 'Simiogieme bandage dress' these is the 2nd one in a matter of few weeks. She seem to have become the muse of the budding UK designer.

Away from Toksy, the night was a supersonic one in many respect, with many of the stars, the likes of Chidinma, Olamide, KCEE & Harry Song, Dr. Sid, Tiwa Savage, Mafikizolo & others giving very superlative accounts of themselves. Those who attended would not forget the beautiful night in a hurry. There were too many stars and celebs in attendance, just too numerous to start mentioning names. If this prelude concert to the award was this great, how would the award proper itself be like?

The event mainly was the launch of their new brand 'Clear Smooth All in one Powder'. With the sheer number of the gorgeous and the stylish that came out for the event, it was they all needed somewhere to be at.

We were supposed to have been at this classy wedding, so we feel so bad that we weren't there to bring you very exclusive pictures our own special way. Anyways, better something than nothing at all.

London based PR Guru to the stars Vanessa nee Amadi got wedded to her handsome beau Oki just at the tail end of September of 2013. She had done her Igba Nkwu Nwanyi a few weeks ago in Nigeria somewhere in the East at her home town. Those who had attended the traditional said it was a very classy event. 

So on to her base in London for the white wedding. When we spoke to her in London in August, she had said left to her it would have been a small but very classy wedding, the running around to make sure all the i's were dotted and t's crossed had drained her a bit, but she was still super excited about the upcoming affair then. 

So the beautiful day has come and gone and those that attended, said like they had expected a very classy affair with stars and celebs everywhere. Vanessa being a PR guru to the stars had a few in attendance, the likes of our own deliciously gorgeous one, Africa's own Julia Roberts, Genevieve Nnaji (Vanessa is Genny's publicist), her ex-bf and Mr. Entertainer, the one & only Banger Lee aka Eja Nla D Banj was also there, so also were the likes of Estelle, Keisha Buchanan, Onyi & Chinny Onwugbenu the duo that owns Mud Cosmetics, Arieta Mujay and Toolz Oniru just to mention a few.

Blushing bride looked glorious in her gorgeous white Vera Wang wedding attire even the most gorgeous mermaid couldn't have looked better, you know most capable brides would do anything to get a Vera for their day. As usual Banger Lee looked the epitome of 'dappernesss', his blue one button suit fitted him to the t,  atop a white shirt, and accessorized with the orange neck wear and socks, plus the orange pocket kerchief & his black studded Christian Louboutin suede shoes; once a dandy always a dandy. While Genny came wearing a cobalt blue wrap dress looking as sweet as always, we totally love Toolz Oniru's dress, one of the best she's worn in a longtime, giving her a glorious slimming effect or was it our eyes? Apart from her gorgeous style, she amazingly caught the bouquet, so we should all expect wedding bells to start ringing soon for her!!!

One of the highlights of the day was a performance by David Adeleke aka Davido, the skelewu King. 

Congrats to the couple. May they continually enjoy marital bliss.

 Last night, Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the premiere house at Regal Cinema, LA, USA was the world premiere of Baggage Claim, a new movie starring the delectable Paula Patton, the very gorgeous actress wife of crooner Robin Thicke.

The handsome bloke was on hand at the premiere to support his wife. Also at the premiere were the likes of former Destiny's Child member Michelle Williams, sexy crooner Trey Songz one of the film cast who came to the premiere with his Grand-ma, also there were the likes of of Taye Diggs, Boris Kodjoe, Garcelle Beauvais, Jill Scott, Christina Milian & a host of many other stars & cast members. 

The new movie stars the likes of Paula Patton, Jill Scott, Trey Songz, Adam Brody, Tia Mowry, Djimon Hounsou, La La Anthony, Derek Luke, Boris Kodjoe, Terence J, Octavia Spencer & Taye Diggs. It is an American Romantic Comedy that is set for release tomorrow, Friday, September 27, 2013.

It was another great Slu.....shh party some days back, Saturday, September 21, 2013 to be more precise. This particular edition of the party was tagged the Slu....Shh Switch party.  It was like the stars/celebs had missed the gathering so much so, that they came out in large numbers for this one to come have unmitigated fun. From the pictures of the event that we have seen it was obvious that it was fun and enjoyment galore on the night. There was too much of all those things that makes any party, gathering good.

Party was hosted at the Slu..shh Mansion on the Island, 23 Admiralty road, Lekki Phase 1, by the duo of Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, a very close friend of Noble Igwe who is the head honcho at 360 Nobs, the organiser of the party and Linda Osifo, we heard they both did a very good job. 

Apart from the mingling and back slapping et al , there were performances by some, the likes of Phyno, Pre & the very lively & cheerful Sean T i z z l e!!!!

Like we already made mention, the stars/celebs trooped out for the fun night, some of those we saw were Banky W & his gf Andrea, the Don of Mavin Records, Don 'the prolific' Jazzy, the only rapper with the Msc.
