Ibadan the capital of Oyo State was totally lit up on Thursday, April 5, 2018 when one of the handsome sons of the famous late filmmaker, director, producer, dramatist and actor Adeyemi Josiah Afolayan aka AdeLove,in the person of Gabriel Afolayan, the younger sibling of renowned and celebrated film maker Kunle Afolayan got engaged in a beautiful and very colourful traditional wedding ceremony.

The beautiful occasion which had a lot of friends and family members in attendance from the looks of things was fun galore. It was even tagged #gbanks. Gabriel like his other siblings is an actor and a singer, who has had a couple of great productions under his belt. The beautiful occasion was at the Best Western Hotel in Ibadan.

As expected a many of the couple'couple's friends in the entertainment industry graced the occasion, likes of Banky and Adesua Wellington, Mocheddah etc.

Gabriel's other siblings are Kunle, Mojo and Aremu and their aunty Toyin Afolayan, also a prominent actress in the Nollywood industry.

Much is not now known about the stupendously beautiful bride Adebanke other than she is US based.

The Landmark Event Centre Victoria Island Lagos venue as we had predicted was very colourful and totally upscale. You must remember that the colours of the day was quite unique, daffodil Yellow and copper gold on one side, and metallic silver and multi-sequin on the other side.

As expected the guests were superbly gaily dressed. An A-class party in Lagos is always an opportunity for dress up. So style met style, just as elegance intertwined with panache, it was a classic display of oomph all round, as expected it was the opportunity to also display their precious stones for all to see and savour.

A ceremony hosted by a former MD/CEO of one of the biggest financial institutions in Nigeria turned property magnate is most definitely a big deal. So the high powered and the well connected came in torrents and gathered at the venue to celebrate with one of their own. A few of those at the event, which is the part 1 as the part 2 is slated for Dubai in the UAE were Her Excellency, wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs Olufunsho Amosun, Ooni Adimula of Ife, H.I.M Oba Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, H.R.M Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, the Olowo Eko, the Elegushi of Ikateland, H.R.M Alaiyeluwa Oba Saheed Babatunde Elegushi, Dr. Oba Otudeko, billionaire businesswoman, Hajia Bola Muinat Shagaya, Minister for Finance, Kemi Adeosun and very many others.

Entertainment was provided by the awesome Shuga Band and the ultimate Omo Alhaji- YCEE.

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO OMAWUMI AS SHE BECOMES MRS IN EVERYWAY POSSIBLE...

Omawumi is a wonderful woman in every way you might want to describe her, very very respectful with a good understanding of our culture and tradition. We have seen her in close quarters and seen her on many occasions how she related with those around her and we were astonished that being a recognised artist of many years standing who normally should carry a chip on her shoulders, none of such was present, she was just herself a virtue we greatly appreciate and commend.

So today Saturday, January 13, 2018 the gorgeous lady of song and her beau of many years- Tosin Yussuf, father of her child and in fact her husband of 2 years running already (their Ikoyi registry wedding was on January 16, 2015 so just a few days more to their 3rd anniversary), today Saturday is their native law and custom wedding as tradition and culture demands it. Just in case you are wondering, why the ceremony? What the couple had done 2 years back was what the law of the state demanded, they had gone to the registry, where they were joined together as man and wife.

What they are doing (have done) now is satisfiying all that their heart and family wants, so the traditional wedding is/was today, Saturday, January 13, 2018 in Omawumi's dad's compound in Warri, Delta State and the party is presently on going, with friends and family in support.

This Sunday, November 26, 2017 is the D-day. The convergence point for the high society people expected for this high octane event/occasion is Lagos premium place of choice, the Landmark Event Centre on Water Corporation Drive, Oniru, Lagos. It seems like when you want to truly throw a party without unneccesary restrictions and get value for money, the venue of choice or best spot now is the Landmark.

The event is the "Traditional Marriage ceremony" between the awesomely beautiful daughter of the late General Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia and his wonderful wife, Yetunde Ogbemudia, by name Nosakhare Oluwaseun & her beau Ekan Oduwa Andy. #NosaEkan2017 #Trad. Ekan is the son of Mr E Andy and Professor Rosemary .I. Egonmwan. Professor Rosemary Iviowen Egonmwan is a Princess of the Benin Royal Kingdom. She's a distinguished scholar and academician, who is a director at Vitafoam and the chairman of the committee of enquiry on the Edo State Polytechnic, Usen.

We can bet that the stupendously rich culture of the Benin people would most definitely be on awesome display on the day at the event.

Knowing the very warm, very sociable and highly connected mother of the bride, by name Mrs. Yetunde Ogbemudia she would leave no stone unturned to make sure the occasion is an A-class one in all ramifications, where the pampering of her topnotch guests would be the number 1 agenda.

One person that would be greatly missed by all and sundry is the late dad of the bride, in the person of late Political collosus of Edo, the late Brigadier General Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia, the former Military Administrator, Military Governor of Mid-West State and later Bendel State, who died earlier this year on March 9, 2017 to be more precise. The bride's dad mid-wifed many of the major developmental projects of the then MidWest state/Bendel State, many of which are still visible even now in Edo State.

Why the choice of a Sunday party, instead of the more regular Saturday is somewhat surprising? Maybe it's the new innovation in town to hold big time weddings on Sundays when occasions and events of such Caliber wouldn't be much, twas the same day used by Banky W and Adesua for their #BAAD2017 Traditional too.  We expect an avalanche and rain of the who-is-who to pour down on the venue on the date for #NosaEkanWed #traditional .

Bride's colour of choice for the occasion is Magenta on Champagne, while for the groom it's Coral on Champagne!

From picture to life, it was well executed, met with the brief she was given, well fitted, supremely stylish and very well delivered.

One of those things that we have learnt most often turns a gorgeous bride to a "bridezilla" is her wedding outfit!

Most often what was dreamt of, what they had envisaged or envisioned, was many times not what was delivered, so the bride having to make do with just what is available in a short period of time, becomes mad, crazy and just very nearly evil!

From the looks of things here though , it was obvious that Adesua Bankole Wellington nee Etomi loved her outfits (both) and she popped to high heavens in them. Unlike many that their outfits wears them and are totally submerged by such, she was the one that wore both outfits and with much aplomb at that and they were both equally well styled also. We loved that in one she looked like the perfect Bini princess/maiden and in the blue, she looked like a gorgeous amd very stylish Yoruba maiden, getting hooked!!

Kudos TOJU FOYEH, for delivering when it mattered the most.

As was expected it was a sumptuously colourful traditional wedding ceremony. Not only was it very colourful, it was supremely stylish to the hilt, everyone made an effort to look totally on point, the colour choice was awesome, burgundy and lilac, Royal blue.....totally a perfect choice. The bride, everly beautiful and in your face gorgeous, wore a "standoutly gorgeous", "made to thrill", very sexy off the shoulder made to measure outfit by young badass designer Toju Foyeh.

That it was colourful has already being established above, it was also awesomely star studded, it was like the stars rained down relentlessly on the venue like torrents, they came and came and were part of the reason that the wedding can be tagged "one of the biggest weddings of the season", they were mostly people in the entertainment industry though, except for maybe Tony Elumelu who came in for like 10minutes and left and Mo Abudu the Ebony life boss who is close to both stars marrying, apart from these two many of those who came were the usual suspects, so no need to start naming names.

Ebuka the hunk stood out on his Agbada, tall, well built, handsome and stylish, take a bow, Rita "the incredible" Dominic, was standout in her sexy black outfit, it's like she can't get it wrong on the style stake, we totally loved Beverly Naya's outfit, so also Toke Makinwa and many others.

#BAAD2017 lived up to all the prehype and expectations in all ramifications, the upcoming white wedding is said to be planned for the very idyllic Cape Town, South Africa, which is rated as one of the 'most beautiful spots on Earth. This romantic duo and their entourage would do that City a lot of good we believe.

The traditional wedding was on Sunday, November 19, 2017, the venue was Landmark event centre, the wow wedding decor was heavenly and much attention to detail was put into it as it was very obvious, everything was on point, planned to the t. It's obvious that all that went had super fun, it was very visible in their mien and outlook. Like they would say, it was lit🎆.

Banky's colleague in the music industry entertained him, his wife and his guests; On stage were the sumptuously gorgeous Tiwa Savage, also was Falz the bad guy and then also the ageless Tuface Idibia, who had to cut short his holiday in Dubai with wife to attend the event.

But the most obvious and most important thing about it all, that was very plain for all to see, is that these 2, these stylish duo, these 2 peas in a pod, are madly in love, so so into each other, they are the perfect example of what is called Ying & Yang, both have found a balance in each other, no acting, no forming, just plain and simply LOVE! And like D'banj said years back in one of his greatest hits, "Love is a beautiful thing............Banky Wellington is quite obviously, crazily, madly, awesomely, gobsmarkingly, undeniably, stupendously, superbly, unconditionally, undisputably in Love with Adesua and it's obvious also that it is reciprocal!

Two super clans are they both. On one side is the family of the former head of state, former civilian President and now stateman, Retired General, Chief Olusegun Aremu Okikiola Obasanjo, the titan of Owu kingdom, in Ogun State. Love him or hate, he is one to be reckoned with in this nation.

On the other side is the family of the super great philanthropist extraordinaire and top businessman, very very liquid at that and better known by his sobriquet Baba Ijebu, Chief Kessingnton Adebutu.

While for Obasanjo, it's his tall imposing son, 33 that's getting married, whose name is Olujonwo Ajani Abraham Obasanjo, who is said to be into manufacturing, for the Adebutu's it is their, super curvy and well endowed daughter by name Temitope Oyepero Georgina Adebutu, who is an Abeokuta based magistrate that's the bride, also in her early 30s.

Knowing the 2 families pedigree, it's a match of titans. Though according to the Yoruba culture it's the wife's family that normally hosts the wedding and they are far more than capable, the groom's family too would be contributing with their might, remember Obasanjo owns probably one of the top 5 biggest farms in the country and other very successful investments, if not the biggest, with Sir Adebutu, he is the generalismo of the betting business in the country, pulling in an extraordinary and astronomical amount daily. So money is not an issue on both sides and both also know the creme de la cream of the society.

Venue of the reception which is set for, Saturday, May 13, 2017 is the expansive hall of Eko Hotel, Victoria Island​, Lagos.

We came across these pictures of the traditional wedding of Hadiza & Olamiju Alao-Akala, a few days ago. We just thought that it would be a disservice not to publish them. They are all so gorgeous that we were swept off our feet. 


This couple looks so stupendously gorgeous together and it is obvious they are so into each other. Hadiza is one excitingly beautiful lady and Olamiju is one lucky guy, that many would have done anything to be in his shoes. Unlike our first post, that had a potpourri of pictures (bride, groom, family members, guests etc). This post is strictly about the gorgeous couple and their bridal train.

We were totally smitten and we are sure you all would also be.

The appointed day for the full traditional wedding is today, Saturday, April 5, 2014. The venue being the expansive country home of the President in his hometown Otuoke, in Bayelsa State. Occasion is the traditional wedding ceremony between the daughter of the President, Faith Elizabeth Sakwe and her heartthrob Godswill Osim Edward from Cross River State. The couple we hear met while in school. Faith is a lawyer.

The traditional marriage journey began last night Friday, April 4, 2014 at about 7pm, with the payment of bride price and exchange of gifts between the 2 families, it's part of the rites that must be observed. Though, it wasn't the main event itself, in attendance were the family members on both sides and a sprinkling of friends, the likes of Hajia Bola Shagaya, Senator Ben Obi, Ifeanyi Uba, Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa, Governor Liyel Imoke, some 1st ladies and many more.

The ceremony we heard started at about 7.30pm when the President and his beloved wife-Patience arrived at the venue of the event, which was a beautifully decorated marquee that had been erected in the President's compound. And things began in earnest. The groom's entourage from Cross Rivers State we heard was led by the Governor of his state Governor Liyel Imoke. As expected there was exchange of pleasantries between both families. The Edward's entourage was asked what their mission was and they stated it was about a beautiful flower in the Goodluck's vineyard that they had come to enquire about. Whom their son would love to have as wife forever. 

From the initial intro to the fun haggling on the bride price, which started from 1 million and was finally pegged and agreed to at N50,000. Thereafter the agreement, the groom and family then went on to present many gifts to the bride's family and community. 

The day's event was rounded off with the President speech inviting all and sundry to come back the next day (today) from 12 noon to finish what had begun the night before. And also so they the groom's family could come take away their wife, as it was too late on Friday for her to be released to them.
