EKITI'S STATE GOVERNOR DR. KAYODE FAYEMI EMERGES AS THE NEW NGF'S PRESIDENT.

His profile has continued to soar high since he came back for his 2nd term as the Executive Governor of Ekiti State after taking over from rabble-rouser extraordinaire, Peter "the rock" Ayodele Fayose.

At least Ekiti is not just in the news for just about anything anymore, peace and normalcy had since taken over and people are seemingly just moving about doing their things quietly.

And now the very calm, highly cerebral Executive Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has added another feather to his enviable cap after emerging unanimously as the new chairman of the quite influential Nigeria's Governors Forum (NGF). The news of his emergence  wouldn't have been anything extraordinary had it not being that its the "first time in the history of the NGF that a Governor from the SW would be occupying such a position". And with Dr. Kayode Fayemi being an expert in war & conflict resolution, he would bring that expertise to bear on his colleagues as the Governors would engage all other arms of Government. So it's a very very positive and very welcomed development. The days of unnecessary confrontations without necessarily achieving anything, might just be long gone afterall.

The new NGF chairman is known to be a very good ally of the President of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, who he served meritoriously as a Minister for Solid Minerals. before he resigned to vie again for the Governorship of his state.

The new chairman was nominated for the post by the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, who was seconded by the Governor of DELTA state, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa. He would be leading the NGF for the next 2years till 2021.

Also elected as the Vice-chairman of the forum was the Governor of Sokoto state, Governor Aminu Tambuwal, who was nominated by the outgoing Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode who was seconded by the Governor of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu.

In his acceptance remark, Dr. Fayemi expressed his gratitude for the confidence reposed on him by his colleagues.

He then pledged to build on the achievements of his predecessors and success stories of the forum.

“We will build on commitments with strong partnership with the Federal Government as federating unit and trash out issues as amicably as possible, in the over all interest of the country,” he said.

He then pledged that they would represent the interests of Nigeria irrespective of their political affiliations.

“Whatever we are going to do will be in overall interest of the nation in ensuring that our states are continuously strengthened,”

“Our country derives the benefit of strong, dedicated states to our citizens and the partnership with all arms of government, development partners working with us in the over all interest of Nigeria.

He commended the outgoing chairman of the forum and the secretariat for their commitment to states and Nigeria at large.

Kudos to Dr. Kayode Fayemi on a well deserved appointment. And some have even begun to look forward and ahead already as far as 2023 & are believing the calm mien of the Ekiti state Governor might just be leading him towards the presidency.

Would it happen or wouldn't it happen? Let's just wait and see, for like they say, time is the judge.

What is more curious though is that a coalition that's not too favorable inclined towards Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is gradually day by day gaining more and more access to power and influence.

Former Governor of Ekiti State in the person of the now comedian, Peter Ayodele 'the rock'  Fayose has thought to rub salt on the open wound or should we say injury of the still very shocked outgoing Governor of Ogun State  now a Senator elect, in the person of, His Excellency Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

In a series of tweets, full of mockery, Fayose went for the jugular of Amosun, mocking him while reminding him of his large part in the way Fayose's candidate in Ekiti was dealt with at the last election in the State in 2018.

If truly Senator Amosun is complicit in what Ayo Fayose has raised in his 2 tweets, he must be regreting his part in the deed terribly now.

Since that election lost in Ekiti State earlier this year, when his sponsored candidate Prof. Eleka was pummelled into submission, Nigeria's number 1 official motor mouth, the irrepressible Peter 'the Rock' Ayodele Fayose, just quietly went into his cocoon, not mouthing off like he used to do before. Like the Yorubas would say, Enu ti wo ooooo!!

It was like that election defied his understanding and totally affected his psyche in a massive way, it took him to lala land and it has taken him a longwhile to recover. Imagine that he was actually brought down from his high horse and was practically slammed down, embarrassingly at that. Imagine that after he had assured his ward as per the election, that no matter what, he was going to win the election for him, just the way he had done the previous time with full aid of the FG and then he lost!!!!

Now with the only option left being the Courts, who can still swing things his way or better still their way, if they can show compelling reasons why the election results needs to be upturned.

So while still grappling with how to go away without issues, having being brought down from his height of extreme self delusion and over engorged ego, imagine now that another problem, major one at that already awaits him, in the mold of the EFCC. The organization from thr look of it, have him under watch and has already asked the Customs and most likely other security parastatals to also keep a keen eye on the outgoing Governor, so that he wouldn't perform the Houdini (a disappearing act) as soon as his tenure finishes and he has handed over to his successor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, so he can at least answer some questions, the organisation might think needs answers to.

We are only just hoping that prophecy wouldn't be coming into fruition or past as it concerns "pastor" Peter Ayodele Fayose, as a prophet had predicted a while back then, that the Governor would only be transiting from the Government house to jailhouse!

AND SO IT SEEM LIKE THE APC HAVE SHOT THEMSELVES ON THE FOOT AGAIN! AS KAYODE FAYEMI WINS THEIR PRIMARY & IS NOW THE PARTY'S CANDIDATE FOR THE JULY 2018 ELECTION

Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose of the PDP and his supporters must be laughing their heads off right now, with what has happened at the APC primary, which was just concluded last night.

Their victory didn't start just yesterday, it began when somehow, they were able to cause division and divisiveness in the rank and file of the opposition APC, which warranted the withdrawal of probably one of the best candidates, for the primaries, in the person of Senator Babafemi Ojudu.

The distinguished Senator of the Federal House of Assembly had withdrawn in protest for what he claimed wasn't a level playing field and deliberate orchestration by some in their party to foist and force a particular candidate on the party.  So after his withdrawal, about 32 others were said to have partaken in the primary, with the former Governor of the state, Dr Kayode Fayemi, who is the serving Minister of Solid Minerals Development emerging as the day's winner with 941 votes against 481 votes polled by Segun Oni, a former Governor of the State, who came in second.

As an incumbent then seeking for a 2nd term, at the election that brought Ayo Fayose back to power for a 2nd time and 2nd term, the then Governor FAYEMI, had lost abysmally in all the local government areas of the state, including his own LG then! So total was Fayose's landslide victory against an incumbent then, that it was baffling and totally mind-boggling and left everyone shocked!

With Fayemi's victory at the APC primary and with the schism that was already in place even before the primary, would the different camps now close ranks to compete against a common for? Is APC heading for another abysmal 16-0 loss again?

With the likes of Opeyemi Bamidele, Segun Oni, Babafemi Ojudu, Hon. Bimbo Daramola et al who are the party pillars already very disgruntled, where is the Ekiti State APC heading to? The war of words and accusations that heralded the primaries, had exposed the under belly of the party in the first place, showing that many were at daggers drawn and there wasn't going to be the possibility of them sheathing their swords and closing ranks.

With the victory of Dr. Kayode Fayemi at the recently concluded primary, it also somehow exposes the fact that the Jagaban Borgu, the National leader of the party, the great Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu might have totally lost control of the Ekiti APC, just like he did that of Ondo State. So this victory, which might yet be pyrrhic though, is a clear statement in defiance.

Dr. John Olukayode FAYEMI 53, was the former Governor of Ekiti State and currently, the Minister for Solid Minerals Development. He is from Isan-Ekiti, in Oye LGA of the state. He is a Doctor of War Studies, a degree he got from the King's College, University of London. He is eminently qualified to vie for the position and this is his 2nd missionary journey towards taking Ekiti State to the expected Eldorado, after the first journey that ended with a loss.

Dr. FAYEMI would be locking horns with the current Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Prof. Kolapo Olushola of the PDP, who is an anointed candidate of the outgoing Governor, Peter Ayodele Fayose. The Professor who apparently must have been a genius from birth, was born May 24, 1968 and would be 50 in a few days time. He began his primary school at the age of 4. He is a Professor of Building Structures from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State. He got his first degree in 1989 and was the best graduating student of his set then. Just like he had distinguished himself in Secondary school too. By 2009 he had become an associate professor. He has published over 50 academic researches in both local and international journals. He is from Ikere Ekiti, in Ikere LGA of Ekiti State. The APC candidate too has an intimidating resume too.

The July 2018 election upcoming in about 11 weeks would most definitely, be a battle royale. And we are eagerly awaiting the results. 

FORMER GIVERNOR & NOW MINISTER FOR SOLID MINERALS DEVELOPMENT DR KAYODE FAYEMI SET TO DECLARE FOR GOVERNORSHIP OF EKITI STATE

In about 24 hours to now, Saturday, April 14, 2018 to be more precise, the former Governor of EKITI State, who is in fact the current Minister for Solid Minerals Development, Dr. John Olukayode Fayemi one of those 3 very influential points men via which the President had wanted to impress Nigerians, the others being former Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola- (the Minister for Works, Power & Housing) & Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi-(Minister for Transportation), would be declaring his intention to run for Governor of EKITI State, to do what would be considered his 2nd term in office.

Dr. FAYEMI had done veritably well as Governor about 4 years ago during his administration which ran from 2010 to 2014, before he was soundly and roundly defeated at the election for his 2nd term, in fact he was beaten at every of the Local Government Areas by hurricane Fayose in the person of the now incumbent Peter Ayodele Fayose, who had preceded Fayemi, though not immediate. Many couldn't believe what happened then, though much ca me up about tyat election late,  but it was too late and nothing was actually prover for a fact. It was like a nightmare dream organised by Fayose when it happened, but one of what he used then was his closeness to the grassroots which worked overwhelmingly for him, a closeness that Fayemi didn't enjoy in his first missionary journey.

Now after Fayose of PDP has done his 2 terms, though not together immediately and is already on the way out, and is even hoping to install his deputy at all cost, the opposition are in a frenzy to replace him too at all cost.

One of those who wants to rule Ekiti again is the highly cerebral Dr. Olukayode FAYEMI of the APC, the man with the intimidating and staggering resume, that if by virtue of academic prowess alone, he should just sit back and rest and coast home to a landslide victory, but it's not just about that only at all, one only hope he has learnt his lessons. Imagine that the man with a Doctorate degree in War Studies from the renowned and prestigious King's College University of London, England specialising in Civil-Military relations is emminently qualified to take the stable again.

EKITI state should expect a battle royale of the most awesome kind, especially with the caliber of the array of those who have declared their intentions. One of the closest persons to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the person of Senator Babafemi Ojudu an APC member in the senate, has already declared & launched his intention a few weeks back and his support is increasing more and more by the day. Another strongman of APC who we hear is also eagerly nursing the same ambition is another former Governor and top member of the elders council of the ruling party APC, in the person of Chief Segun Oni, in fact Dr. Fayemi replaced Chief Oni as the executive Governor of EKITI after the Court in Ilorin threw him out as not being the legitimate winner of the then election.

How the APC hopes to be able to manage these many egos, is still baffling for us, as none of these men are willing to back down for each other. The same scenario that created the schism and division that shot them on the foot the last time and allowed Fayose to cost home to victory, is again rearing up its head. That year Opeyemi Bamidele and Kayode Fayemi fought themselves to a standstill, thereby polarizing their own support base and dividing it totally. It is a well known fact that a house divided against itself cannot stand. Not only the above though, it is also a very well known fact that Ojudu is from the camp of Tinubu, a somewhat anointed son in whom the godfather is well pleased. But Fayemi is known to be a man of and on his own, a member of the new school (Fayemi and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and a few others are of that school), who of recent have been willing to call the bluff of the godfather and are even hell bent on demystifying the godfather. Something of the sort of what Aketi and Fayemi perfected in Ondo, that won Rotimi Akeredolu that election. So can they perform this miracle twice? Can Fayemi afford an open battle with the Asiwaju & Jagaban? Let's just wait and see, fingers crossed?

So would Fayemi's intention come to fruition, especially with the APC? Let's wait and see also. What we know for a fact now though is that, it seems like the former Governor and now Minister seems to have the resources, the financial muscle and the intellectual sagacity and capacity to take anyone on, no matter who. Cerebral-wise, he is up there among the elite, wherewithal wise as in resources, he is also up there, but political maneuvering wise, is he too? That we believe has always been the forte of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. An art he has perfected to stratopheric levels.

Come this Saturday, April 14, 2018 in EKITI State at the APC Party secretariat Ajilosun, Ado EKITI, Dr Kayode Fayemi would begin his 2nd missionary journey in his quest to return as the Governor of the fountain of knowledge, also known as the Land of Honour and Integrity. To help him dazzle his teeming supporters who are sure to come out enmasse on Saturday, which actually is the day the electioneering umpire INEC would flag off electioneering officiallying in the state as it concerns the upcoming gubernatorial election, exactly 3 months before voting proper on July 24, 2018 would occur, we hear would be one of the best exponents of the Fuji music genre, he is referred to as the king of Fuji dance hall, gentleman, Amb. Reason for Atawewe's choice as the one to lead other entertainers for Dr Fayemi's declaration is premised on his calm and non-violent mien, which connects very well with the Minister's type of classy and gentleman's personality. Dr Fayemi is a known advocate of peace and a gentleman to the core.

Behind every successful man like they say is a strong, highly resourceful woman, who though might be behind the scene, but whose power and influence is felt and seen by all.

So it seems that such a saying perfectly fits the person and lifestyle of the wife of the current Governor of Ekiti State- Mrs. FEYISETAN Fayose, whose husband Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose would be finishing his 2nd tenure by the end of this year- 2018.

Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose, had prior to his election years back said, God had spoken and revealed to his wife about him becoming the Governor of Ekiti State again after his he was removed before his tenure finished then and it came to pass that what the wife had said then came to past, forget that the election that brought him in was questioned. The fact was that Fayose's victory against the then incumbent was such a landslide victory that was so total, that he won at every LGA including where the then Governor came from!

Now that same "Oracle of Ekiti" that spoke then, has spoken again, laying claim again to the fact that, that same God has spoken to her all over again. If she had spoken once and it became just like she pronounced it, what would become of this new proclaimation, especially as she has also given credence to God again?

The reason for the importance of this proclaimation/prophesies/predictions is because there are also several predictions/prophesies totally contrary to what madam has pronounced. Imagine some "so called men of God" have said also, that God spoke to them saying, that "Fayose wouldn't finish his tenure", which is about finishing sometime soon. The predictions went on further to say that "Fayose would be going from the state house to jail! If the first part didn't happen as proclaimed, would the 2nd part ever come to past? Now against that backdrop of Fayose would go to jail, madam has proclaimed that instead he is going for a higher office, Senatorial or Presidential?

Also a very fresh prophesy just came about just yesterday from another man of God, who had proclaimed that God revealed to him that PDP in Ekiti State would lose the next election, the same Party which only very recently won the Local Government election in every LGA bar none! Contrary to this very very recent prophesy, madam has said that God is the God of continuity and to stand against the Government of Fayose is a battle in futility.

Mrs. Fayose stated this in a statement released by her Media Office on Tuesday.

She said those standing in the way of Governor Fayose are “obstructing the work of God,” adding: “The consequences will be too much for them.”

Mrs. Fayose said God had revealed to her a long time ago that her husband was going for a position of authority higher than the governorship he currently holds.

According to the statement issued by her Special Assistant (Media), Gbenga Ariyibi, Fayose spoke in Ado Ekiti during the New Year’s thanksgiving service.

She was quoted as having said: “I want to plead with everyone, don’t hunt for the downfall of this government, don’t even try it.

“God is looking at you, and God is watching. Don’t hunt for the failure of continuity.

Why? Because our God is God of continuity, our leader is carrying the unusual grace; if you don’t want to be disgraced, don’t hunt for the downfall of this government, don’t hunt for the failure of continuity, I have said my own.

“It is not him, it’s God through him. Look beyond him, and let’s continue to work together in unity.

“God told me expressly, years back, that he needed Ayo Fayose in Nigeria.

“What brought about this was that, I was praying that the trouble of this man was too much, that I wanted God to take politics away from him, to separate him from politics, that I have had too much.

“But God said, ‘Leave him to me, he is in the hollow of my palm, l need him in Nigeria, it is not only Ekiti. He is just passing through Ekiti State.”

Once beaten twice shy is the common adage, so that saying presupposes that the next time, if that time ever comes that person would have learnt a lesson and would be better prepared or would have readjusted, especially via the knowledge one has acquired via experience.

As it seems right now, it's like the APC which is the opposition party in Ekiti State, where PDP's own enfant terrible, in the person of his excellency, the executive Governor of Ekiti, Mr. Ayodele Peter Fayose reigns supreme has not learnt their lessons at all.

Just like it happened a few years ago, where internal wranglings, inordinate ambition, greed, unnecessary desperation led to a foolish implosion, which broke the ranks and divided the party, much to the extent that everyone went to their different camps and dug deep, such a scenario is already gradually building up again. What happened then virtually allowed a grassroot mobiliser extraordinaire like Ayo Fayose to slamdunk the APC, blowing the party into smithereens along the way and coasting to an unprecedented and unmatchable victory, with them not even being able to win one local government, even though the party was the one on the seat.

Ekiti’s governorship election on Saturday June 21, 2014 kicks of the 2014/2015 election season.

Enough is Enough Nigeria (EiE Nigeria), a coalition of young Nigerians promoting good governance and citizen engagement will host a live televised debate for three of the leading candidates on Sunday, June 1, 2014.

This continues EiE’s tradition of hosting youth-focused debates, having co-hosted the first youth-focused presidential debate in the country in 2011. It has since hosted debates in Cross River and Anambra (in partnership with Channels TV).

There are 18 candidates vying for the position of Governor and the four leading candidates were invited to participate in the debate: incumbent governor Kayode Fayemi, of the All Progressives Congress (APC); former governor Ayo Fayose of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); Opeyemi Bamidele of the Labour Party (LP); and Accord Party flagbearer, Kole Ajayi.

Mr Fayose of PDP declined to participate in the debate.

Candidates are expected to make public their plans for Ekiti youth with special focus on education, security, power supply and employment/enterprise.

The debate will be aired live on EKTV, NTA Ekiti & TVC.

 All things being equal the 3 major personality vying to take charge as the next Governor of Ekiti State come 2015 till 2019 are the trio of the incumbent Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the very hardworking Governor now, who in our opinion totally deserves a 2nd time to consolidate on the achievements of the last 4 years, his main opponent is his former friend and former ACN party faithful, Honourable Opeyemi Bamidele, who is now the flag-bearer of the Labour Party,  in fact, he was the only candidate that vied from his party and the last but not the least in the race, is the former Governor of the state, who was later impeached in the person of Mr. Ayo Fayose aka stainless, who won the primaries of his party the PDP earlier on today, Saturday, March 22, 2014.

Ayo Fayose won by a very large margin at the PDP primaries polling 462 votes out of a total of 477 votes cast to Caleb Olubolade's 7 votes, Adedayo Adeyeye 3 votes and Margaret Ogundipe 1 vote. With the result of this Primaries except something extraordinary happens now, Ayo Fayose would most likely be the flag-bearer of PDP at the next election. 

The 3 that have emerged representing ACN, Labour & PDP are as big as they come and none of them can be ignored at all, anyone who ignores the other, does so at their own peril. So now that they have emerged, the battle royale would most definitely begin in earnest. 

Electioneering is sure to start right way, with each candidate doing their best to win more of the electorates to their sides. One just hopes and prays that there wouldn't violence and blood shed. Though it looks like a straight battle between Kayode Fayemi & Opeyemi Bamidele, Ayo Fayose is no pushover at all and can spring surprises that can affect the two main contenders.

We are so curious to know what the situation is, because reading the handsome ex-Governor of Ekiti State's interview very recently, he projected the image of a very God-fearing and very fair person, interspersing every sentence with the name of God and how God would sort out things and even talking about how his wife is a very spiritual person and a woman of God, which is the opposite of the ladies man he is now being painted as. 


According to another online publication- http://theelitesnigeria.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/ayo-fayose-romances-music-czar-mistress.html?m=1 -the very vocal ex-Governor, who is getting set to contest the Governorship of Ekiti State with other aspirants in the race that includes the incumbent Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi come June 2014, is said to be in a whirlwind romance with a very light complexioned lady called Jumoke Odofin. 

So hot is the alleged relationship that the write-up claims that Ayo Fayose has even promised the said lady, she would be his first lady were he to win the 2014 election. The lucky lady from the report used to be one of K1 the ultimate's heartthrob way back in the States, before things went awry between them.

As the gist goes, Ayo Fayose & Jumoke Odofin apparently met a few months ago and the intensity of their love relationship has been on the increase ever since, with Jumoke reportedly becoming a regular fixture at the Magodo GRA palatial home of the ex-Governor. 

Madam Jumoke is said to be in her early 40's and she and King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, K1 the ultimate, met in the USA a few years back when he was in the states on a music tour. They apparently hit it off immediately after, and took to each other like milk takes to tea and a romance began which later culminated in the birth of a boy-Rilwan. The relationship while it lasted was said to have been tumultuous from start to finish, very high loving today and totally degrading the next day, with various allegations flying left, right and center. When the center couldn't hold together anymore and facing some immigration infringements she reportedly relocated to Canada. 

Canada was not the bed of roses she had apparently envisaged from what we heard, running foul of the laws in Canada, she was caught and held for a while and eventually deported back to Nigeria. Since coming home, she has reportedly tried to put together the many strings of life and get back into the scheme of things. Meeting Mr. Ayo Fayose is reportedly part of the good things that has since happened to her and we hear that she's madly in love and telling all that cares to know that the end result would be fantastic.

HON. OPEYEMI BAMIDELE DECLARES FOR THE LABOUR PARTY IN EKITI STATE

This is not the best of times for the APC in Ekiti State as one of the party's aggrieved members in the person of one of their most influential former members has left them to pitch his tent with a rival party-the Labour Party.

The member of the Federal House of Representatives, defected in order for him to pursue his Gubernatorial ambition in Ekiti State come 2014. 

Prior to this his formal defection, he had had a running battle with his former party hierarchy over his ambition. The party had expected he was going to step down his ambition for the incumbent's 2nd term to which he didn't agree. Now with this defection to the Labour, the massive support that the APC used to enjoy in Ekiti State might have been reduced drastically, since Honourable Bamidele seemingly enjoys a very massive support base in Ekiti. 

So a major loss for the APC in Ekiti, might have become a major gain for Labour in the same state. So would Opeyemi Bamidele be joining the Iroko(Dr. Olusegun Mimiko) as the 2nd Labour Governor in Nigeria? Or would the incumbent ride on to a victory irrespective of Bamidele's defection & support? Time will surely tell.

It seems like a drama of the absurd kind is gradually playing itself out in Ekiti State. And if the situation is not nipped in the bud, it might not augur very well for the ruling party ACN in the state. From all indications it is what the opposition wants and they are quietly praying there's no resolution. They must be laughing their heads off right now.

The battle royale quietly playing out is between the incumbent action Governor, who truly has transformed governance in his state Ekiti, he has brought his intellectual capacity to fore in Ekiti in all areas, making sure to touch every area of his State. This seems to have endeared him to his people and even his party seem mesmerized by his work rate and all he has done, so there is the clamour for him to consolidate and go for a second term. On the other side of this battle royale, is a former Commissioner for Information in Lagos State, now a Honourable member of the House of Representatives, in the person of Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele: Who is a strong ACN party stalwart in Ekiti state. He is also said to have the ambition to become the next Governor of Ekiti State. His clamour to rule Ekiti we hear is based on an agreement that the incumbent would run for one term only and then make way.

ADIEU! MRS FUNMILAYO OLAYINKA. RIP!!!

 The gorgeous deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Mrs Funmilayo Olayinka, passed on last night after a protracted battle with cancer. Madam passed on at the age of 52. The now late Deputy Governor reportedly gave up the ghost at a Lagos hospital. The former banker who later became a politician, was said to have battled the cancer gallantly before finally succumbing. Ekiti State has lost one of her brightest brains. And it is such a sad loss.


She is survived by her husband, children and aged parents. May the soul of the dearly departed rest in peace.
