HOW ABIOLA OKOYA LOST HER SON AYODEJI AKINWANDE MODUPE-JOHNSON TO THE COLD HAND OF DEATH. IT'S A SAD 2020 FOR MOST.

Late Ayodeji & mom-'Biola Okoya

This year 2020 would never be forgotten in a hurry. It's been a super sad year already, a double numbered year already tagged, a very strange year by most people. A year that many would have preferred to obliterate from their memories forever if it were possible, like it didn't even exist at all in the 1st place.

So we all woke up to the most shattering news of the unfortunate and untimely death of the incredibly gorgeous wife of the head Pastor at Trinity House Church, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, as madam, that's Ibidunni Ajayi Ighodalo in far away Port Harcourt, Rivers State succumbed to what is been suspected to be a 'cardiac arrest' related death at just 40 just a few weeks to her 41st in July.

Immediately the news hit all and sundry, the day became a 'Black Sunday' without a doubt. Apparently the sad occurrence happened at about 2am at a yet to be identified hotel room, where she was staying while attending to a project (Covid-19 Isolation Project) in the state.

Unfortunately, her husband, a highly respected and well connected gentleman, who apart from being a popular pastor was also a quite successful businessman still conducted a 'funeral service' on the day, in fact later that same day after he had heard the devasting news of the demise of his beloved wife, whom he loved to bits and shared a very special bond with.

Sunday June 14, 2020 was the day of the funeral service of the late son of the daughter of billionaire businessman behind the Eleganza fame, Chief Razak Akanni Okoya. 'Biola Okoya, the 2nd eldest daughter and 2nd eldest child of the Billionaire, had lost her 24 year old son to death on Friday, June 12, 2020 after a brief illness.

So, while many would always remember June 12 as Nigeria's Democracy Day, Biola would always remember the day as a very unfortunate that, when her son lost his battle for life to death.

The late boy's name is Ayodeji Akinwande Modupe-Johnson, he was one of the 3 kids of Biola Okoya and one of the several grand-children of Chief Razak Akanni Okoya. Biola who years back had converted to Christianity from Islam is a staunch member of the Trinity House Church. So while the church was still mourning the unfortunate passage of the young Ayodeji and still trying to grapple with the terrible loss of a young man at just 24, another sledge hammer came down again on the church and the Pastor himself with Ibidunni Ajayi Ighodalo's unfortunate passage too.

So just try to imagine the weight of the grief, anguish and burden on the shoulders of Pastor Ituah Ighodalo as he was still the one that gallantly conducted the funeral service of another, while he was yet mourning the death of his beloved wife that had just happened a few hours before. ..

In his words he said as he preached at that funeral service in an emotion laden voice, showing unbelievable strength in the face of all-

"Everywhere is tense, confused, frightening and disturbing, but we are here today.
“If they had told us last Sunday, that we would be here celebrating Ayodeji’s life, we would say it is impossible. He was ill no doubt but we were believing God that he would be well.
A lot of you would know that I really shouldn’t be here today, but that is how life is. About 2 o’clock this morning, I received a call that shattered my life. But life must go on…Life is a deep mystery. ”

May the souls of all the dearly departed find rest. Till we see them again on the day of their resurection.

Adieu!!!!!!!

So sorry for Biola Okoya's loss. We commiserate with the extended Okoya and Johnson family on their unfortunate and irreparable loss.
