We are feeling somewhat nostalgic today. Years back "Atlantic Bar" better known as "A-Bar" for short was the quintessential go to place by the happening crowd.

It was the "watering hole" of the young, rich and upwardly mobile then, famous and the not too famous ones, both male and female at that use to gather at the spot daily.

If you wanted to know what was happening in town, you wanted to meet with those considered then as the "it-crowd", the young movers and shakers of the society, those who you see featured on the pages of glossy magazines and tabloids etc this was the place. Many of the same people who are now top brasses in their various companies and establishments. It was that time before the internet became super popular and a major hit, the time before news would flash online, real time.

Some would slowly exhale now and exclaim that, that was the good ole days. It was before the days of them "Yahoo boys" packing out every joint and "blatantly showing off their loot" without a care in the world and without minding being tagged, looking rag-tag and somehow unkempt even with all the money at their disposal. The fun days of yore seem totally gone. A-Bar was some type of class separator then! Until her demise! Sadly.b

Yusuf Hamman, Marshall Onwuameze and Osa Ademota at that time seemingly got it right with that A-class joint, twas like all the elements came together properly and it really worked for them. Apart from having the right crowd always in place then, what was also majorly great about the hotspot that opened in the year 1996 and was shut down in 2012 (16 good years of fun galore) was their food and the ambience. The food then was the bomb! Especially their take on the "concoction rice" a common delight. which tasted super scrumptious and was out of the world.

Where are these trio now who all should be in their early 50s at most now?

Saturday, October 7, 2017 is the d-day. And the occasion or event is a double edged one. Come the date of the event, the ancient town would play host to the likes of the former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo, GCFR, also expected is the richest blackman in the world and richest African under the sun, in the person of Alhaji Aliko Dangote, who would be coming alongside his very good friend, Femi Otedola, another certified Nigerian billionaire and Chairman of FO, another top personality expected to grace the occasion is none other than reclusive billionaire and owner of Glo, Otunba "Dr" Mike Adenuga. These names mentioned are just a few of those expected, we hear all the Emirs in the North and other well known dignitaries are also expected to converge at the event.

Chairman of the occasion is none other than the "self acclaimed number 1 monarch in Yorubaland", the Olugbo of Ugboland, Oba Fredrick Obateru Akinruntan, who is also said to be the wealthiest monarch in Africa. The "mother of the day" is none other than the Matriach of the Folawiyo family, ace fashion designing legend Hajia Abah Folawiyo, while the Chief Host is none other than the Ijesha Executive Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

According to the statement released from His Royal Majesty's palace, the Canadian returnee has the following to say, "As a responsible father I am thirsty of development. There are 2 Iwos; the old Iwo & the new Iwo. The new Iwo is the best because we have migrated from obscurity to light. The name is everywhere now and big investments are underway".

So with this upcoming revelry, it would showcase the razzmatazz the King has been trying to package for his kingdom all of this while.

When they were in Nigeria the mention of their names used to send shivers down the spine of a lot of married ladies who felt they were the ones behind their wealthty husband's infidelities.

Not just the women though, even the men also lived in fear, believing they were blackmailers.

After their arrest late last year, many breathed a major sigh of great relief, thinking their so called attrocities would end and they would either be jailed or be sent packing and made to become persona non grata in Nigeria. The sisters did everyone a favour, when they seemingly escaped abroad and vowed never to return to face their case that was still pending.

Getting back to Toronto, Canada must have been a great relief for the duo, believing that the long arm of the law in Nigeria, cannot stretch as far as Canada to catch them, or so they thought!

But now, with what was said to have happened yesterday in Venice as reported by Toronto Sun, who got their own report from an Italian newspaper II Gazzettino, says the younger of the sisters by name Kiran, without being aware of an "international arrest warrant" on them, was arrested as she landed at the Venice "Marco Polo Airport, Italy.

The arrest warrant is suspected to have emanated from their pending "Sex-tortion" case still on in Lagos, Nigeria.

NOT SEEN GORGEOUS YOSOLA KUKU ANYWHERE NOWADAYS. WHERE IS SHE?

In the not too distant past, there were some, both ladies and gentlemen at that, who were constant and consistent features and fixtures whenever anything fun and fly and stylish were happening, one of such beautiful souls was Yosola "the elegant" Kuku.

She was pretty, well mannered, well loved, very stylish and quite friendly, in fact she was even described severally as a socialite, but we preferred then to tag her a "social butterfly", who perches delicately on different stems of gorgeous flowers. In fact, she was one of the "it girls" then, our very own version of the likes of Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton etc. She was one of the most visible amongst the young upwardly mobile crowd then, who used to let us all know the "in things" in fashion & lifestyle then.

At a point we knew she went very career conscious a very good decision at that, steadily rising on the ladder at "MRS Oil owned Sayyu Dantata", where she now heads the "risk management department", so that must have been why she totally went off the social radar or was it a combo of many reasons? Someone also once hinted that she might have "cooled down" so as to get married, but does getting a husband mean to not socialise no more or not to have fun no more?

To have totally gone extinct? That's a worry oooo!!!!

For whatever reason(s) that she has gone very quiet, we love it though and totally wish her well.

EX-OLORI WURAOLA OGUNWUSI ON THE REBOUND. CASTING THE PAST INTO THE GUTTERS

She was the centre of attraction all of the past months, due to her failed marriage to the Yoruba race's most revered in the person of Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, the Ojaja II.

After much denial from the palace, the intrigues were finally laid to rest when the lady herself came out to say she was no longer the Ooni's heartbeat and had already moved on, to better things.

Now only just a few weeks after all of those undue scrutiny and bashing, the gorgeous lady now simply referred to as Zaynab seems to have gotten her groove back awesomely and going about her own business, not minding whose ox is gored.

A few hours ago, the vocal lady who recently lead a few other women to raise awareness against the ills of domestic violence etc, landed in New York USA to participate at the 72nd session of the UNGA "United Nations General Assembly" 2017.

The young and highly focused lady has not allowed the misfortune of her short-lived marriage derail her focus, as she continues on her humanitarian path.

Zaynab is a well recognised and respected "protector" of the UNFPA, a world recognised body which aims to fight for the rights of women, men and children health all over the world. Only last week the former celebrated Olori gave her voice to the "Deliver for Good" event.

While it is obvious that her ex-husband Oba Ogunwusi has since moved on to the next, we are happy also that Zaynab seems to have gotten back her groove back and is gradually moving on gamely too.

You know that in our last report, we had asked the question about the "truth behind the alleged new purchase" of a "BOMBARDIER GLOBAL EXPRESS XRS" a super private jet by the Governor Emeritus of Lagos in the person of the highly revered and much respected Nigerian politician Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was first a Senator in Lagos, before going on to become a 2 term Governor of the State.

We have since that initial report gotten fillers from the camp of the former Governor and National leader of the ruling APC that, the supposed purchase and ownership of such a private jet especially at this time, is a "complete figment of the imagination" of those who are trying to spread the "false rumour".

According to the gist, those trying to spread the news have done so delibrately, to cause disaffection and unnecessary trouble, as there was nothing of the kind, especially a jet at such a time like this at the value of "$60million dollars", which is quite a super sizeable chunk that could achieve so much for any state currently, especially in the kind of "economic situation" that the country is facing right now, where most state governments are especially grappling with the dilemma of paying many months backlog of salaries.

From what those who got to us painted, the rumour is complete bollocks and so far away from the truth. According to the source, ASIWAJU as the very popular Jagaban of Borgu is referred to, is a "man of the people" in every sense of the word, especially one who cares for and about the people, so much to the extent that, even if he had the money to make such a purchase right now, he wouldn't even do it.

Revered monarch and one of the most prominent kings from Ogun State, his royal highness, Oba Dr Adedapo Adewale Tejuosho, the Osile-Oke Ona Egba, Karunwi III, clocked 28 years on the throne of his forbears very recently and to celebrate the occasion, his organisation Oba Karunwi Evangelical Movement organised the 28th hours praise marathon as a form of thanksgiving.

The royal father is an avowed Christian, who has for several years now, proudly carried the flag of his faith very openly, without fear or favour.

The very lovable king, who is a wonderful father to 20 plus kids, and the husband of 3 gorgeous and quite colourful Oloris (queens) was crowned March 20, 1989 exactly and this year is his 77 birthday.

The king has had many momentous opportunities to showcase his faith to the admiration of all. The only son of the 3rd Iyalode of Egbaland, which is the highest cheiftaincy title a woman can hold in the land, in 2005 when he was 67 years old caused to be removed from his father's compound the Obatala idol, which caused a lot of anger against him then, by the traditionalists. In fact another King then rose in open opposition against him, castigating against going against the tradition and culture of the land, that Oba actually died a year later.
