It was a 4 day extravaganza that the capital city of Ilorin, Kwara State would not forget in a hurry. It was the nuptial ceremony between the first daughter- Maryam of renowned Muslim cleric- His Eminence Sheikh Sulaiman Farooq Onikijipa & one of the sons of the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Retired Chief Justice Alfa Belgore (Abdulsamad Belgore). Many came from far and wide to celebrate with both families. At a point, it was like a carnival had arrived in town. The young and the old, disciples of the well-loved Muslim cleric, top Alfas from far and wide, very gorgeous friends of the bride and her deliciously beautiful younger sister- Iradat, came out in large numbers to celebrate the gorgeous bride.

The first day of the ceremony kicked off with a night totally dedicated to the bride- it was tagged ‘’the bride’s eve’’. It’s a ceremony that is more common in the Northern parts of the country. It is where friends and female members of the family of the bride, gather all night in celebration of the bride, singing and dancing, playing games of all kinds, before the wedding ceremony proper. For many of us, who had not encountered a ceremony like that before, it was a delight to watch. Just imagine, very many gorgeous, young ladies of many complexions, all together at one venue, looking very sweet and very friendly, all having great fun.

BLACK MARKET BUM FOR $15,000, WANT ONE ANYONE?

The desperation to stand out can make some go risk their lives. There is a particular young, female upcoming musician we know, whose obsession with becoming a totally new person is unbelievable, she’s changed her complexion, done her boobs, had her bum enlarged, done her hips etc. One only hopes that all she has already done were done by certified doctors or else.

EME'S ALL STARS COMPILATION ALBUM NOW READY

The first-ever EME all stars album is done and ready to be unleashed.

Featuring solo and collaboration appearances by all EME acts and select friends of the house, the album, already titled ‘Empire Mates State of Mind’, is a 22-tracked LP that boasts some of the finest tracks to come out of Nigeria this year.

The label says it took almost one year to put the EME album together, and fans who have had a preview listen admit the materials are ‘a collector’s item’.

The album, to be released exclusively on Spinlet on Monday June 18, features the core EME Artistes: Banky W, Wizkid, Skales, Niyola, Shaydee, DJ Exclusive, as well as prime guest appearances from Affiliates such as Ghana-Based Rapper XO Senavoe and US-Based Singer/Actor Rotimi. The album also contains three fun skits by comedian Basketmouth.

'We’re very proud of the EME Album. We took our time to put together a fantastic blend of our talents as a collective, while also showcasing what each artiste is able to do individually. ANOTHER LOSS FOR CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN .

The battle of the red sole, between the world famous Christian Louboutin and another world renowned fashion label- Zara has been decided. CL had gone to court seeking to stop Zara from infringing on his trademark (the use of the red sole) on some of their shoes.

But the court has come out to say- that Zara's cut-price shoe could not be confused with that made by the high-end designer. This was the initial verdict of the court in 2008. The world renowned shoe designer, not satisfied with the outcome then took the case to a higher court- Cour de Cassation, which is the final court of appeal. The higher court just last week upheld the lower court's decision and even awarded a compensation of 2,000 Pounds to Zara!

CL had initiated a similar case against YSL last year also, which has not yet been decided.

Hear Mr. Louboutin on why the cause is important for him and his brand identity and that he is aware he cannot monopolise a colour. CL said -

'I understand that, but it is a red in a specific context, there is Ferrari red [and] Hermès orange.
'Even in the food industry, Cadbury recently won a lawsuit against Nestlé for using purple packaging.
'All this proves that the colours play a part in a brand's identity. I'm not saying that red usually belongs to me - I repeat that this is about a precise red, used in a precise location.'

Louboutin said that he came up with the idea for his red sole heels, which are favoured by celebrities including Sarah Jessica Parker and Victoria Beckham, nearly 20 years ago, when he painted red nail polish on the black soles of a pair of women's shoes.

TINIE TEMPAH'S DISTURBING LONDON LINE.

It's better late than never. Tinie's stock is definitely on the rise or don't you all think? Not only is he a top music star, even very well recognised at that and even well commended across the pond (the US). He was crowned the ''Best Dressed Man 2012'' by the British edition of the award-winning Male Fashion Magazine- the GQ.

The 23 years old Tinie seems to be taking his love of fashion to another level, many weeks ago the British born top music star, who is of Nigerian Descent launched his own Debut Fashion Collection called- Disturbing London at the renowned Selfridges store in London, the UK. The line was done in collaboration with street wear Designer MH1 & it's strictly a menswear line at least for now. Tinie might go the way of his American counterpart- Kanye West who has a very thriving fashion line, which has shown at the Paris Fashion Week twice already.

Talking about his inspiration, Tinie says he looks up to UK design icon Sir Paul Smith, the late Alexander McQueen and Rake for tailoring inspiration. He went on further to say- I want the collection to show the different layers of what makes me who I am. I thought it would be good to do something that was high-end street wear, based around the whole Americana storm that is happening now.

EHIME FRANCIS AIKHOMU JOURNEY HOME BEGINS

To many of his very loyal friend, he was a brother, a friend like no other. If it were possible for many to do anything just for him to get up and be on the go again, they would have done the deed without flinching or even given it a thought. Bur Alas! No magic wand, no extraordinary power to wield. A jolly good fellow has gone home to be with the Lord.

Many cannot still believe it’s true, many including friends and family members of all those lives lost to the crash are still dazed by what has befallen them, an irreparable loss, a terrible pain that would take a while to heal. Ehime and Innocent and some other friends had only gone to Abuja in support of a friend and see what has happened.

But can we blame anyone? It could have been anybody else on that Dana Airline Flight, that Sunday, June 3, 2012 at about 3.45PM. So what has death accomplished now? Yes, he has brought about temporary terrible pain, but we all take solace in the fact that they have all gone to rest. They are now immune to our earthly wiles and other negative tendencies. They have left us to our shenanigans and our pains and miseries. We pray the souls of Ehime & Innocent and by extension all the lives lost would rest in peace.

Nigeria’s biggest and most respected music awards, The Headies is back for the seventh year! 

Organizers of Hip Hop World Awards which debuted in 2006 this week announced “A countdown to the big day”- which officially kicks off THE HEADIES.

“On July 23, we will have a mini event to give out the car and plaques to last year’s winners, and then the following day, we will officially launch the countdown to the big day by announcing nominees, hosts, sponsors and other plans” Ayo Animashaun says.

A total of 23 Plaques will be given to last year’s winners- 2face, Don Jazzy, Darey,  Ice Prince, MI, Waje, DJ Tee, Modenine, Cabo Snoop, eLDee, Femi, Dr. Sid, Jah Bless and WizKid with Wizkid leaving with the biggest prize- a brand new Hyundai Sonata 2011.

Many friends, family members, known fashionistas all turned out very recently at Ikeja, as Ruby & Pink Lifestyle Store had a grand-opening at the Ikeja Mall, Alausa, Lagos. The top fashion outlet is owned by the very stylish Chika Acholonu, who is the wife of the Igwe of Orlu- a First Class King from the Eastern Part of Nigeria, Orlu, Imo State to be precise.
This new store in Ikeja, which is at the massive Ikeja Mall, next to the Lagos sit of power in Alausa, makes it the 2nd branch in the growing chain. Ruby & Pink stocks the best of fashion apparels & accessories from many parts of the world. The store owner counts amongst her regular customers some of the very well known Lagos fashionistas.

At the grand-opening a few weeks ago, we saw the likes Ndidi Anyaechie- md of Designer Club/ Bhive Lounge, Adaobi Nwakuche- Director at Staco Insurance, Eunice Efole, Ndidi Obioha,-Md of Enthyst, Ifeoma Williams, a lawyer and top manager at MTV, Nikky Ogbuefi, Ezinne Chinkata, top stylist & Fashion Editor at Wow Magazine, who also writes for Vogue Italia, Vivian Agbonkhese and a few others. The store was declared opened by the wife of the founder and former Chairman/CEO of Diamond Bank- Mrs Pascal Dozie, whose very quiet husband was around too, he is presently the Chairman of Mtn Nigeria. The Igwe of Orlu, HRM Igwe Dr. Patrick Chinedu Acholonu came with a few friends to support his beautiful wife at the opening.

There was a mini-fashion show at the middle of the mall, that was ably coordinated by Ifeoma Williams & Andy, a top model instructor, and the models posed to the delight of all, wearing the different outfits (Casuals, Dinner-wears, shoes etc) that Ruby & Pink store stocks. At the end of the fashion show, it was like a buying frenzy, as everyone including the male guests were all seen buying one or two things, inside the very well stocked store.

KIM KARDASHIAN GETS A LAMBORGHINI AVENTADO

Eat your heart out; Kim K seems to be saying. The fantastically shaped reality TV Queen/ entrepreneur and the current flame of G.O.O.D Music mogul- Kanye West, a few days ago took delivery of a jet-black, stunning looking 2012 Lamborghini Aventador. The Jet plane on 4-wheels does 0-60 in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 350km/h.  The car is named after a legendary bull that entered into the arena in 2003 and got salutes for his courage. The ‘machine’ is valued at about $400,000.

Kimberly Noel Kardashian better known by all as Kim Kardashian or Kim K, already had before this Lamborghini Aventador,  a very intimidating garage.  Check this out, in that garage is a jet black Bentley GTC Continental, a white Rolls Royce Ghost, a white Range Rover Vogue and at a point she was seen cruising around in a Ferrari F430, which some said belonged to her former boyfriend (Reggie).
