CAN THERE TRULY EVER BE SOMETHING AMISS BETWEEN THE ASIWAJU & HIS ANOINTED SON-AKINWUNMI AMBODE?

What more can be said about the great Asiwaju of Lagos and by extension according to some, the Asiwaju of Yorubaland that hasn't been said yet or already? The inimitable Jagaban Borgu, who also incidentally holds the highest chieftaincy title in Egbaland, which is the "Aare Ago" (Field Marshall) of Egbaland, a title bestowed on him by the current paramount ruler of Egbaland, the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo III, CFR. These titles mentioned here and others are just a few of the more prominent titles that the former 2 term Governor of the state of aquatic excellence and a former Senator of the state, hold.

The APC top chieftain, in fact the National Leader of the ruling party is an enigma per excellence, one that many of his die-hard followers see as the engineer, the visioner, the inspiration behind what the current Lagos is and may turn into in the future. Some are of the strong opinion, that the script of the 21st century Lagos, an emerging eldorado was put together by him and that all that have always been needed, is always for the perfect and proper person to come execute.

His excellency, the Governor extraordinary, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, FCA is the current Governor of the number 1 state in Nigeria in many ramifications and that's the state of excellence-known to all as Lagos. Never in the history of this state has someone being so well prepared, so well honed, so perfectly fitted to run the affairs of a state as unique, as powerful, as diverse, as massive, as Lagos.

For those who already know and even for those that do not readily know, that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode boasts an incredible, totally outstanding educational history, background, from as early as his O'levels, where he cracked the WASC, having the 2nd best results overall for the year in review is a known fact.

Thereafter the O'levels, he went on to continually dazzle all comers every step of the way ever since. From an exemplary university result for his 1st degree and later having his masters, to getting trained at some of the best schools available-Harvard, Instead, Wharton, Cranfield etc where he honed his skills as an accountant/auditor/administrator.

But it's not only about his educational status that we are on about here now, it is also majorly about his career path and projectile, which apart from the educational attainment is what has made him who he is today!

Imagine that from the get go till he got to the highest level/hierarchy as Governor, he has worked at every level of the state civil service, from the grassroots at the local government level, holding various positions from the low to the high, right around the state, rising later from being the Auditor-General in charge of Local Governments to become the Permanent Secretary in charge of Finance in Lagos, till he finally became the Accountant-General of Lagos State, which on its own, is already a career high and then now finally to becoming the Governor of the state. Transversing the length and breath of the state Civil service for 27 years! How more prepared can anyone have ever been?

So it wasn't something too extraordinary or too out of the world when the Asiwaju then, like he had also done before with the excellent BRF, insisted on Ambode as the nos 1 choice to take over from another, exemplary and anoited son then in the person of the awesome Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN. Many of the skeptics who couldn't dare dream then, many of them who had doubts, those who had thought no one, no matter who could break the awesome records set by the 2 terms of the administration of BRF have all now since become die-hard converts in only just 3 years of exhilarating hard work!

The blitzkrieg otherwise known as Akinwunmi Ambode, that unstoppable shining star has swept all before him off their feet-both his own people and even the opposition with such speed and authority, it has been totally outstanding and dazzling at the same time. So much so that even the opposition have become totally comatose and have been pulverized to inactivity, hoping against all hope in the dreamland to come to relevance again sometime in the far future.

Every where in Lagos that you go to, you would effortlessly and openly see, the Ambode super impressive signature all over, dotting the landscape in nearly all ramifications. Truth be told, Lagos State in a very long while, has not encountered such dizzying and dazzling level of infrastructural developments all going on simultaneously at the same time like now! So just imagine all the launchings that would all be happening all over the place in Lagos at the tail end of this administration's 1st term in power come 2019! Lagos is surely in for a super great and exhilarating ride!!! !

So in view of the very immediate above, most had thought that a 2nd term for the one behind all that has been happening so positively should just be a given! Like it has been said for many centuries now, one good turn, deserves another, or so people had thought! But alas, that might not necessarily be! Reason been that if the so called underground grumblings and rumblings are anything to go by, then all might not necessarily be as well as most think!

For according to the unconfirmed gist, which even at that still carries a lot of weight, both son-AA and father-Asiwaju might not necessarily be having a chummy-chummy, good time as it is now! It is even said that whatever it is that's causing the issues, might have been on going for a few months now, at least for up to 4 months if not more, so they say! And because of that, many are of the thought that this disagreement if not quickly nipped in the bud and resolved and dealt with, could dangerously affect Ambode’s 2nd term ambition!

Can that truly happen? Especially after such an excellent record of works?

Re-election time is fast drawing near and all those eligible are doing all that's possible to make sure their i's are dotted and t's crossed. Even those just seeking to come in for the first time are waiting also, ready to pounce. One of those also majorly interested in a deserved 2nd term is the very hardworking Governor of the state of excellence-Lagos, in the person of his excellency Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

That his excellency has done a fine job, some even consider it a most excellent of jobs, in fact a yore man's job in the last 3 years and is still going on so strong is evident for all to see. The people of Epe alone left to them would want the Governor to remain the Executive Governor of Lagos for life, if it were possible, this is so because of the excellent touch that the action man has given to his 'adopted' homestead.

Epe, is not the only place that has felt the magnanimity of the workaholic action Governor who is seemingly bent on turning Lagos into a near Eldorado and who is also somewhat in a hurry to do what some have considered the magic. His fine touch dots everywhere and commendably too at that. From the more urban areas to the inner more rural parts, that most had neglected before when they were in power. Roads repairs in torrents, great infrastructures being built across the state, extraordinary investment in security, in fact no state in the whole federation has spent what AMBODE'S administration has spent in terms of security, in fact many states combined, haven't spent the kind of colossal amount Ambode has spent to improve the security of lives and properties in Lagos.

All the above and more are not the only areas that Lagos has seen improvements, one other major area is the stratospheric improvement in IGR, imagine that what Lagos has raked in is what many states combined would bring in in many years. Being an award winning accountant/auditor/money engineer par excellence, one who has risen from the lowest cadre of administration at the Local government level to be the Governor, the man has really done confirmably well and there are still great things to launch, to declare open before the end of this action packed first term running into a 3nd term of its permitted. Some have even suggested that, apart from the Jakande's administration that was the standard by which most administrations is judged, followed by that of the Tinubu's administration that supposedly came up with the current blueprint that successive administrations are now following, even to the BRF administration which many thought was already the height of it, that the AMBODE'S administration is probably running to become the greatest till date, that is if he can continue like this and even do a 2nd term with the same heart, purposefulness and untiring and unwaving swagger that he has used during this first term.

What is obvious about the administration of Governor Ambode and his style is that, he must have really studied the state very well over the years, believing that one day he would become the state chief executive and had therefore planned ahead for that eventuality and had developed a fail proof blueprint which he hoped to use if he ever came to power, which he is now executing gallantly. So if in his first term he has done so much and there's still so much to be done, it is believed that a 2nd term would allow him to consolidate and even do far more.

But that 2nd term which should normally be a given, considering his resume and what he had already done (achieved) and his future plans, might be on a shaky ground already!!!! What????? Shaky what??? There is the claim that there might be some subtle differences/disagreements with his godfather, the Governor emeritus of the state of aquatic excellence, in the person of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed TINUBU! How can that be? The godfather is supposed to be happy to high heavens that his political son is shutting down impressively all naysayers that had thought he shouldn't have been the preferred one! This normally should be the happiest moment of a father well pleased in a son who is surpassing all the dreams had about him! But alas, there is said to be some estrangement ongoing, that is also very well hidden only known to some or very few.

Baring any last minute magic show, the incumbent Governor of the state of Anambra, is coasting home to an emphatic and quite impressive victory.

Though the opponents arrayed against him were supposedly heavyweights, with the way things are going, it's like they were more of paperweights than the heavyweights people had thought they were, as their perceived influence apparently carried no weight at the end of it. Even with the calculations and permutations done to wrest power from Chief Willie Obiano, even with all the hell raised by his former friend and political ally in the person of former Governor, Mr Peter Obi, it is like the people seem to prefer the tested hand to a new one, it's likely saying the devil we know rather than the saint we don't!

The PDP particularly had raised so much dust, claiming the Governor never really did anything that warranted him needing a 2nd term, they had raised so much hoopla that at a point many felt that they had a chance to tip the apple cart and cause a major upset, infact with their final campaign just a day to the election, where former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan GCFR, Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti, Governor Iyesom Wike of Rivers, Governor Arthur Okowa Ifeanyi of Delta, former Governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel and many other bigwigs were present and had spoken against the incumbent and his party, the APGA one would have thought there was some major, very potent magic they were going to perform, but alas, there visit was inconsequential in every way, as the voters were apparently not convinced by them and at the end of the day, they the voters, voted their conscience- Willie Obiano!

The battle for 2nd position is a straight forward one between APC's Dr. Tony Nwoye and PDP's Oseloka Henry Obaze. UPP's own Osita Chidoka would most definitely come in a very distant 4th, all the other candidates from the other parties needed not to have contested at all in the first place, reason being that it's like it was just their friends and family members and few associates that voted for them and it was just a waste of resources. Maybe their calculation is that they would get relevance by contesting, we would see after all the dust has finally settled down if they have. 

We just hope that once Chief Willie Obiano is officially declared as the winner, which might be via a landslide victory that he had confidently predicted before the election began he would get, that he would be magnanimous in victory. And that he would close ranks with all his opponents (those willing to work with him though) so that at the end of it all, it would be Anambra that is the ultimate winner. Though a bit of gloating is allowed, it shouldn't be the type that would be to the detriment of the state. It's good that at least Obiano has finally dealt with the nuisance factor of Peter Obi and has somewhat shown him, that without him he can win an election quite easily.

Now that the people have openly showed to the world their confidence in OBIANO, what he should also do to thank them for the confidence reposed on him is to work, work and work, doing things that would greatly advance the quality of lives of Ndi Anambra.

So it's another 4 years of the Obiano magic, let's wait and see what the man would do for this 2nd term.

Imagine that the curious thing this election has brought to fore, is that the IPOB who had greatly over estimated themselves, couldn't disrupt the election, which they had ask the citizens to boycott. Now it's very obvious that they had given themselves credit that they didn't actually deserve.

The Nigerian Police and other security arms must be greatly commended for ensuring that a peaceful election took place, with next to no trouble recorded. Also INEC must also be commended for conducting what many have tagged a Free and Fair, rancour free election. Hope we can always expect this?

But the biggest commendation should be for the people, who we see as the real heroes, who despite the unwholesome intimidation from all sides, especially from an IPOB that had threatened death for daring to vote, they still went out and performed their civic duties and picked for themselves their own choice in returning the Governor. Kudos!

Any person or group of persons or entity that can afford to threaten her own people with death, just to get their support is not worth listening to at all. Those kind of people are the type that would turn out to be tyrants if given the chance. Everything in life is by choice, it must not be by force or intimidation.

Congratulations in advance sir. The people are expecting so much from you, one just hope that you wouldn't disappoint them.
