OUT & ABOUT AT THE 2ND ANNUAL TASTE OFF FOOD FAIR LAGOS (TASTE OFF 2014)

Lagos in the next few years is most definitely going to be a destination point as par the Lagos food fair known to most as the Taste Off Lagos. The annual food fair held a few weeks ago (about 2 weeks now to be more precise) to a loud applause. Not only was it a very well planned event, it was also a very well attended one, in terms of the visitors and even the vendors.

The venue was Freedom Park, on Broad Street, Marina, Lagos and the venue on the day of the event wore a very gay outlook and the smell of food that pervaded the atmosphere was stupendous. We had a taste of some of the things on offer, here and there and we were impressed in no small measure. All the food and drinks vendors that participated from what we could see, must have gone home quite happy, from making brisk sales. This was our 2nd time of ever going to the Freedom Park and we are really loving the place, a nice event centre we must comment.

Kudos to Bisola Dejonwo-Tokan, for putting together a great event, and with more good support-in terms of sponsorship and adverts we can bet that in the next few years, it would become the best event of its type and the premier food event that all and sundry would want to be a part of. We even hear, though not yet confirmed, that the event might become a twice yearly event, but both events wouldn't hold in Lagos, the other might hold in Abuja, the FCT.

JIDE & BISOLA TOKAN'S WEDDING CEREMONY

THE GROOM & HIS ADORABLE BRIDE(JIDE & BISOLA)

We were at the nuptial ceremony of the latest couple in town at the weekend. Like you all already know, it was between Jide Tokan, a young business man (said to be into building & construction) and the first daughter of the only sister of billionaire industrialist, Chief Rasaq Akanni Okoya of the Eleganza Fame. Wosilat Seriki's daughter Bisola Dejonwo, was finally joined in holy matrimony to her beau Jide at the palatial Olorunisola Compound of her uncle, located along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos.  D-day was Saturday, January 19, 2013.

The gorgeous mother of one, was led into the arena by her step-dad, Otunba Demola Seriki, looking angelic. The groom in a 3 piece blue suit, looking fantastically dapper, came to the venue of the ceremony with a group of his friend all looking cool in their suits, having on their eyewear, which gave them the air of top security officials making sure their own was well protected and covered. To show that he was a man of the people, many of his young friends, most of who are still single attended in large numbers and were the cynosure of all eyes.

The ever exquisite looking mother of the bride, Wosilat Seriki, was looking as gorgeously beautiful as ever and it was obvious from her countenance that it was a day that she had been looking forward to, for a long while now.  Former minister of the Federal Republic, Otunba Demola Seriki, performed the role of the father of the bride admirably, it was obvious for all to see that he dotes on his step-daughter and seem to have a connection, a good bond with his son-in-law.  

Unlike most parties done by the Okoya's this was a lot subdued in magnitude, but was still very well put together and also very well attended. We saw many at the party, some we had not seen in a while, such as the former action Governor of Lagos, Brigadier Raji Rasaki(rtd) and his wife Fatimat, we also saw her Royal Majesty Queen Pelebo Banigo, the wife of the Amanyanabo of Okpoama Kingdom, whose husband King Ebitimi Banigo, was a former Minister of the Federal Republic too, the ageless Erelu Angela Adebayo, the wife of the former Governor of Ekiti State was around,  so also was her husband Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, the very flamboyant Chief Mike Inegbese and his adorable wife, Mary were also there, we also saw Abiola Okoya, who was looking very different, but still adorably gorgeous.

 Others that we saw were his Royal Majesty, the Osile Oke-Ona Egba, Oba Adedapo Adewale Tejuosho, His Excellency, the Governor of Lagos, Mr. Babatunde Raji-Fashola & his Deputy (Hon) Mrs Adejoke Adefulire, former First lady of Lagos, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Mrs Daisy Danjuma, all the 3 gorgeous Oloris Tejuosho, Olori Omoba of Ijebuland, and Otunba of the world, Otunba Olasubomi Michael Balogun, Grace Egbagbe, Hajia Abah Folawiyo, socialite Joko Oni, the ever fashionable Nkiru Anumudu, who came with her daughter, Hajia Tai Elemosho-Okesanjo of the Montai fame & husband, Princess Cynthia Andrew and very many others.

Some of the bride's maids were the boss at Elite Model Elohor Aisien, style correspondent at ThisDay Style Magazine, Funke Babs-Kufeji, Akunna Nwala, Saffy McFoy & Erhi Nakpoberuo.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MR & MRS JIDE & BISOLA TOKAN

Last week and then Saturday, January 19, 2013, would be days to remember for a very long time for the new husband & wife in town.  Saturday, was the day Jide Tokan officially made the former Bisola Dejonwo, the first daughter and child of Wosilat Seriki, the only sister of billionaire industrialist Chief Rasaq Akanni Okoya of the Eleganza fame, his wife. 

As to the finer details of the high society wedding we are still gathering all the details. We can tell for free that the ceremony was at the Olorunisola palatial edifice of the bride's uncle. We are working on the pictures and should post before this evening.
